New Orleans Saints REVEAL Their Starters Entering Their Week 1 Game Against The Carolina Panthers

[Music] it is gameweek Saints fans we have officially made it football is almost back and I cannot wait and in today's video we're going to be going through the week one depth chart as the New Orleans Saints have revealed the entire depth chart starters backups third string and everything for every single position but before we get into that guys I need your help if you want a week one win I have reason to believe if we get 500 likes on today's video the Saints will take care of business against the Carolina Panthers so hit that thumbs up icon let's get 500 likes don't jinx it let's not mess around let's get to 500 so the Saints can get a dub so starting off at the quarterback position yeah Hanner or Rattler qb2 so qb1 no mystery there Derek Carr qb2 Spencer Rattler or Jake Hanner that is the official designation that the New Orleans Saints have put for the qb2 position and I will say this do not read too much into who is listed at the quarterback 2 also don't read too much into the fact that it's Rattler or Hanner I personally do believe that the New Orleans Saints know which quarterback they're going to go with for their qb2 but this is just more of a formality of both players are showing good things both players need to show more and both players have the opportunity to be the second QB and also the QB of the future and I will say this to round out the quarterback discussion I don't necessarily think if one of these players is listed as the qb2 that doesn't lock them in for the future as the starting quarterback so don't read too much into the backup quarterback Derek Carr is going to be your qb1 so there you have it at the running back group Alvin CRA Jamal Williams Jordan Mims and Adam Apprentice so no Mysteries no changes nothing too crazy with the running back position but just an update around kendre Miller I found this pretty weird I guess is the right way I should say it on his Instagram story today September 3rd he had this post up they mocked Joseph as the dreamer but later bowed before him as a king so clearly kendre Miller has been hearing a lot of the noise clearly he is frustrated that's fans are frustrated but I think as fans we are justified in our frustrations because Miller's shown some good things but damnn it he just can't stay on the field and when you took kendre Miller over the hometown fan favorite player like Taj Spears you're going to get a lot of flak and a lot of comparison so just wanted to give you guys this update he clearly wants to get back he has a desire to get healthy it's just matter of time before he can get there now let's talk about Alvin chimra because I do believe an extension will be coming soon and for me I believe that the right time to do this extension is now and the New Orleans Saints in the past have given extensions in the middle of the Season or early in the season we can look back at Carl Granderson as the most recent example of that last season but with Alvin chimra I want to see him put pen to paper lock in those extra couple of years it's not like he's asking for more money he's asking for more guaranteed time in New Orleans there's no mystery he wants to be a saint for life and he's been very vocal about that over the past few seasons now and really friendly reminder Saints vers Panthers week one the watch party is back we're going to be live an hour before kickoff wide receiver group there's really no Mysteries here Chris at Perry Shahed Cedric Wilson and Bub means and then on top of that the udfa out of Yale Mason Tipton carved himself out a spot on the roster and with the wide receiver group I believe that this is a very talented unit I also had a bold prediction earlier in the off season Chris olve and Rasheed Shahed will both have a thousand yards this season I would love to see that become a reality and I'm also excited to see how bub means at Perry and on top of that Mason Tipton get added to the fold I think Cedric Wilson can add a lot of good things as a veteran in the slot I think he can be a good player so I'm excited to see this wide receiver group it's just a matter of can the quarterback get them the ball the tight end group I like this squad I I really really do Joan Johnson a lot of fans are kind of frustrated with and maybe have not the most positive outlook on him I can understand your reasoning on that but for me I like Jawan Johnson a lot Foster Morrow he is going to have an or excuse me he has had this entire offseason where he's been healthy if you remember last year there was the Hodgkins lyoma scare where he was dealing with that on top of being a free agent on top of learning a new team so I can understand where some of the distraction and some of the struggles for foster Moro landed but Dal Hulker is going to be a really exciting group and I think that he's going to be a really fun person to have on the roster but Jaan Johnson again he's a player who was very reliable in 2022 he missed some time in 202 three but that's AOK and for uh D Hulker this player I want to see him get used in the red zone and 2023 for the Colorado State Rams he had 10 contested catches and he forced 15 Miss tackles and on top of that he also had a really good year with 64 receptions almost 1300 yards and nine touchdowns and over 12 yards per catch but in the preseason we got limited action so I want to see the Saints utilize D Hulker in the Red Zone he is not Jimmy Graham he is not not the same size as Jimmy Graham but maybe a similar role where you just give him the jump ball let him go and make the play I think that he's a player who can do it let's dive into the most frustrating part of this team the offensive line toise fua is your left tackle Trevor Penning is the starting right tackle now worth noting here Lucas Patrick is the starting left guard but he's also the backup center and Landon young he's the backup left tackle and the backup Right Guard with the offensive line this is a unit that will make or break the season I am terrified about this squad I genuinely am concerned that they will not be able to figure it out but that's where I'm going to put some of my faith into Clint kubak and into this new offensive system hopefully at best or at the bare minimum they can at least mask some of the poor offensive line play using a lot of pre- snap motion trying to get the ball spread out all over the place and running the football as well so the offensive line they make me really really nervous but I I'm not going to say I don't believe in them yet cuz who knows what if they end up surprising us like crazy what if this offensive scheme is really really good maybe the offensive line can get a little you know bailed out a little bit if you will and if you want to get bailed out right let's go to the defensive line This is an interesting designation here too Carl Granderson or chase young will be starting across from Cameron Jordan the other two starters Colin Saunders and Nathan Shepard and then the rest of the players you have Isaiah fosy Payton Turner two players who are approaching bus status who really really need to have a big year to prove that they are worth keeping around for the Long Haul and on top of that the most recent addition to the roster John Ridgeway III a player that the New Orleans Saints traded for a from the Washington commanders just last week and with the defensive line This is a scary unit I truly do believe that they are going to be much better in terms of sack production last year they were tied for 28th with a total of 34 sacks Carl Granderson led the team in Sachs so I think it's interesting to see that you're going to see Carl Granderson or chase young lined up across from Cameron Jordan but that doesn't mean that that's all you're going to see Dennis Allen he may not be a good head coach but he's a smart defensive mind and he's going to have different packages in different groupings for different scenarios the NASCAR package expected to be Carl Granderson Chase young Cam Jordan Brian breaze who will be coming at the quarterback at 1,000 M an hour I'm excited for this defensive line they are a much better unit than they were last year the linebacker group this is a uh a squad that I have very high expectations for and worth noting here Anthony ory he's not only the backup will linebacker but he's also the backup Sam linebacker over Jaylen Ford and I find that to be pretty interesting because Jaylen Ford he is a fifth round pick that the Saints took out of Texas in this draft class he's been kind of dealing with some injuries and whatnot but Anthony ory has done unbelievable things this offseason and really really good stuff during the preseason so he earned himself a spot as a reliable backup in the linebacker group I have very high expectations for those starting three guys and I will continue to say this Willie Gay Jr might be the best and most underrated free agency Edition for the New Orleans Saints now let's go to the cornerback depth chart this is a squad right here these five players might be the best in the league just going to say it I I challenge you to give me another cornerback group that has this much depth this much high-end talent and this much bottom end Talent Kool-Aid mckinstry he could start day one as a rookie for a handful of teams Rico pton maybe he can't start day one but he's a player who will in my opinion become a starter I'm excited for elante Taylor in his uh in yet another season for uh developing in that nickel position Marshon ladimore Paulson adbo both of these players a lot to prove Marshon ladimore is fighting to prove that he is still one of the top corners in the league whereas Paulson adbo he's in a contract season so he's going to be looking to get a check now let's dive into the safety group JT gray and Will Harris are going to be your backups Jordan Howen and Tyron Matthew is your starting safety group now with Jordan Howen congratulations to him the secondy year player he won the safety battle where he is going to be starting next to Tyron Matthew and I think that his development will be very fun to watch as we continue to see him turn into a quality safety in the National Football League Jordan Howen I'm excited to see what he can do this year now I want to see him get that first interception I think he's going to do it it' be really fun to do it against uh the Panthers on week one but Jonathan Abram he's not gone he didn't get cut he is just on the practice squad that's the most notable name on the Saints practice squad was more in my opinion more so the most surprising cut that the Saints made I was shocked to see that they went with Will Harris over uh Jonathan neam but I'm also not the one that signed all the checks because you had to have a spot for JT Gray he's your special team's Ace you had to have a spot for Tyron Matthew you weren't going to let Jordan H go to the practice squad and Will Harris he just beat him out uh for he beat out Jonathan Abram in that safety position now special team special players special plays fun fact the New Orleans Saints last year was graded one of the top special team units in the National Football League so fun fact but I want you to pay attention not to the kicker punter Long Snapper but look on the right side your kick returner the backup is Jamal Williams and the punt returner the backup is Mason Tipton now Mason Tipton is a freaky fast player I believe it was like a 4.33 40 yard dash unbelievable like that that right there is going to be very valuable as a punt returner but Jamal Williams as a kick return specialist that kind of is interesting to me because you're going to have two players back there so so is Jamal Williams going to be utilized to kind of act like a lead blocker for him is he going to be a player that they're just going to let have the ball find the open space and understand it's not easy for him to get tackled I'm interested to see how they utilize Jamal Williams but also don't be surprised if you see taes Hill Alvin chimra maybe even Chris olve take some kicks back I wouldn't be too shocked to see the Darren Rizzy the Special Teams coordinator in New Orleans get very creative with the kickoff rule uh I'm excited for those new kickoff rules and I'm excited to see how the Saints are going to use or how they're going to perform in the kickoff rule especially because Darren Rizzy was a big factor in the uh NFL bringing in the new kickoff Rule and making it a part of their game not just the UFL and whatnot so Darren Rizzy I'm looking at you to absolutely cook but I want to know who you got Saints fans week one is here we have survived the offseason we made it past the draft free agency in
