The Big 12 football schedule has been released and there are a lot of wins to be had for Arizona

Arizona's off to the Big 12 super excited to be uh going on to the Big 12 where you have fan bases that care about sports looking at this schedule and again I like our big 12 fans a great deal so I'm not putting them down this is a very na we can we can navigate this schedule Ali you know I think it's uh it's great I think it's going to be tough tougher than we think I mean Utah is always tough um we just go let's just go game by game let's do that let's do this a lawyerly way like you're before the nth which you have been before this is true it is true and you know you might want to add that I won too dud I knew you were leaving things out you left out the ninth circuit and you left out the emoy man of the year come on man I know I know all right my bad it's okay all right so here's Arizona's uh Big 12 schedule you got New Mexico obviously not part of the Big 12 New Mexico and na I'm gon to chalk up his wins you would agree I would you know New Mexico's got a new coach coming in next year um and um they're they're going to be good um and if you want to look at uh you talk about power five versus group of five you know those are narratives that the pundits put out there look at the Mountain West record against the Pack 12 the last five years and you'll be shocked because the Mountain West actually has the winning record over the Pack 12 because there's a lot of teams like Wyoming there's a plug for you that I mean not obviously not always in this that conference but there are good teams out there that you know are good Kansas State um Kansas state is always underrated I still don't know how they win but they win there and it's h it's incredibly impressive Bill Snider to me is still one of the top 10 coaches I've ever seen in college football because he turned that into a juggernaut Kansas State that's obviously a TBD it's not going to be a big 12 game because they scheduled it before so it's technically out of conference that's going to be an interesting one as well then like you said Utah Utah Utah Arizona took care of Utah this year you get Cam Rising back though so he's in his 11th year right he's uh he's made the pension in the uh the college football pension he's got his he's got enough time in he can definitely get a Social Security card at this point yeah that's going to be a big one that's the fourth game of the season um that was going to be your first Big 12 game that's going to be a tough one uh that's going to be a tough one thoughts on that one Al Lee and Will you be traveling up there with all of your esteemed donors I would imagine you will maybe uh you know listen I mean Kyle Whittingham uh is one of the best coaches not just in the Pack 12 Big 12 he's one of the best coaches in the country yes and I know jetfish is no longer the head coach at Arizona but if you recall the last time we played Utah was here in Tucson and everything went our way and we rolled them but we put in Jaden Delora at the very end and threw a touchdown at the end and Kyle Whittingham was not happy about it right now does that does that transfer over to next year where it's Brent Brennan I don't know probably not but you know Kansas State you know they're going to play good defense and uh be solid on special teams and Utah you know they're going to be tough physical and disciplined we got our handsful playing it up in Salt Lake you know I also don't get I also don't get this narrative too when people say oh Big 12 Football stinks it doesn't stink the uh what like Big 12 basketball is the best conference in the country we all know that if you're going to try to compare it to Big 12 basketball whatever multiple teams from the Big 12 should get into the college football playoffs I'm not saying four but I think if you're one of the top two teams in the Big 12 now that it's been expanded to 12 I think it's good enough that you should be able to get two teams in Allie you should and uh you know we'll see if the uh the the the two leagues that are trying to control everything and have a monopoly in the Big 10 and the SEC if they're going to allow that to happen because they're the ones that are basically running the show but the big 12 I mean look I know the Pack 12 there's a lot of nostalgia around it and I know there's a history and I appreciate it too but Sports matters in the Big 12 Arizona fans better be prepared that you know you're not going to hear loud U OFA chance and us taking over stadiums on the road for basketball and football talk about economic impact we're going to have fans from every team here and they're going to fill a large section of our Stadium the way it used to be in the old pack 10 um the Big 12 is a better Football Conference than the Pack 12 was well I mean look at Kansas right now Kansas basketball is the preeminent my opinion now is the preeminent program in all college basketball what do they one are there I think they have three Lo Road losses in the Big 12 already people need to understand that this is going to be a different animal entirely than we're used to this is going to be a lot closer to kind of that mid 90s where you had Jim herck killing it at UCLA you had Mike Montgomery destroying it at Stanford Todd Boseman cheating his way to wins at Cal I mean I can keep going on and on it's gonna be a different ride in football and basketball Ali yeah you know Bill self actually talked about it last week when they W on the road I think somewhere and he said every game is a grind but it really prepares us for March and uh I watched on Saturday Kansas State and Houston man they're going to let us play in the Big 12 I mean the the defense and the physicality is at another level um I'm excited for basketball but from a football perspective do not underestimate the Big 12 I mean on our schedule we got five Bowl teams right now let's keep going on I'm a spaz I'm all over the place Ali is the professional so Ali thanks for putting me back on to the point about the Big 12 Football all right then you got Texas Tech BYU and Colorado what do you think about that Detro of games well Texas Tech a bow team last year and you know they're going to air it out so it's going to be kind of fun I mean you might want to whatever the over is if you're a betting person you might want to bet the over in that game uh BYU had a down year last year but it's never easy playing in Provo uh and they've got a solid program yeah uh so I think they're going to be better you know BYU and Colorado the next two games they both didn't have the best of Seasons last year I mean Colorado was America's darling for a little bit but uh you look what Dion has done in the transfer portal Colorado is going to be a very tough team next year and uh they've got I think one of the best if not the best quarterback in college football shador Sanders would you like your Pittsburgh Steelers to draft shadur Sanders if he was available well I hope it's not necessary because that means we totally whiffed on Kenny picket which I think I'm I I'm feeling maybe we whiffed on Kenny picket but there's still that little bit of hope uh it's very small so if we draft shador Sanders two things mean to happen it's going to be Mike tomlin's First losing season as a head coach and uh we are in the top five did you know the Steelers haven't been in the top five to draft a player since 1971 you know I have a neighbor who's a Steelers fan and he talks to me about how difficult it is to be a Steelers fan get out of here dude you guys never lose you never have losing a Bad season for you is 9 and seven or 9 and8 get out of here with that nonsense longsuffering Steeler fan garbage but I us I used to have hair but man they they'd like to play those one- score game so I I can empathize with your neighbor but yes it also feels good to be a Steelers fan especially Mike when you go on the road when you go to Road games and you see half if not more of that Stadium filled with terrible towels it it gives you there's a little bit of Pride there Colorado though that is an interesting game though I I think Colorado is goingon to be a top 25 team listen Dion obviously was an awesome hire I don't understand why a team didn't try to take a chance on Dion earlier I mean if you're Cal what do you have to lose or something like that but like you said you bulked up the offensive line the offensive line was obviously a problem you got shadur you got Travis Hunter back you also got a bevy of receivers as well we're gonna find out this year what kind of Coach Deion Sanders is well you know the best thing about Dion frankly and it's really a it's a sign of a really good secure coach he's put coaches around him right that are really good at what they do and he doesn't have to be the smartest guy in the room so as much of a promoter as Dion is and maybe as much pride as he is he shows a lot of humility as a coach and so that that's why he's easy to root for all right now then you got West Virg then you got West Virginia UCF Houston West Virginia UCF and Houston these are games those are games that you got to take them seriously but these are also games that I believe Arizona should be able to win oi farhang they should man but these teams man especially like you know West Virginia they are so physical and so tough and you know a really good tradition of football there in fact next year the year after next that's the trip I'm taking I'm going are you go to Morgantown heck yeah man why would you not maybe there'll be a Steelers game this Sunday after I can just make that drive but um I think that'd be a great place to watch a football game I think West Virginia is a really good football program and um and then you know you moving on to UCF UCF has been they've they they've you know they've had they've had more 11 And1 12-1 seasons in the last five years than right pretty much anybody in the Pack 12 outside of maybe Oregon it's really a coaching hot ped think about it Scott Frost sucked obviously but he was really good there Josh Hy Gus Malon is this maybe the coaching cradle that is being established at Central Florida maybe man um I still think that you got to look within that uh the tri Ang Le between in between Ohio and Pennsylvania and look at how many coaches have come from that area but uh I think they've got a leg up but UCF man they they are uh economically and from a fan support standpoint really supporting their Sports programs especially football they're they're gonna be good man yeah all right then you got TCU and ASU um TCU is going to be interesting as or TCU it's at TCU got to remember I like Sunny Dykes I think he's a good coach um I do believe believe that he's uh uh there obviously last year was tough but you lose your quarterback I think a lot of people just thought you could just replace your quarterback as the Pittsburgh Steelers have found when Ben rothberger fell off you can't just replace a great quarterback that's a shot farhang right there never a true statement and you know they were in the national championship game just two years ago so right they're really good they're going to be they're going to be um they're going to be a tough test the entire schedule football-wise like we're talking about basketball there's no gimmies you know I know New Mexico and Northern Arizona but let's just look at the conference slate every game is going to be um is going to be a tough contest and we gota we got to bring it as far as ASU I mean listen man that that school up north you you know how I feel about him but uh yeah I like Dilly I think he's a good dude Kyle Dillingham is a is a good coach man and they've done a great job restocking their roster they really have you know what I like about Kenny Dillingham and I'm probably going to get in trouble here I like the fact that he wants to be there you can totally tell that he wants to be there and when somebody says it's their dream job normally it's a bunch of crap um but it's not crap with Kenny Dillingham you can totally tell that he wants to be there and so if I'm an ASU fan you know and I got an A or I got a president that doesn't care about Athletics I'm happy if I I'm happy that I got Kenny Dillingham in there absolutely I mean uh listen sometimes the things he says you're like I that made no sense to me whatsoever but he's passionate he's gen you can see how what he says resonates with young men and U you know frankly look I want to beat them on the on the playing field on the court every single time we play but Arizona it's better when Arizona and Arizona State are both good it's everybody can we get Ali to put his prognostication cap on who wins the Big 12 again you can totally back out but right now Oli if you had your B MGM Sportsbook AP out what would you bet Olli on who winning the Big 12 would you back the a we got 12 games on our schedule right so I'm uh predicting Arizona to go 10 and two and playing in the Big 12 championship game against uh Oklahoma State and uh I think that uh you're gonna see Arizona in the college football playoff next year ditto I'm just going to rubber stamp approve that oie that was awesome yeah
