it's the NFL on EA Sports and the question is are you ready for some football it's the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs and it comes your way next on Madden [Applause] football it's one of the loudest venues in the National Football League we're inside Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City home of the Chiefs great to have you the Legacy and the history of this game I think it's kind of fun this will be returned from the six and he's brought down right at the 25 yd line never out it doesn't matter what's going on at the offensive line what's going on on the defensive side of the ball you know that as long as he's lined up under Center as long as he is in your Hur you have a chance for greatness every single week and the reality is not every team can get on time and I think so often those two things are different being open is one thing [Applause] being out of the gun here's Ms oh and a short throw there really wide angle throws near the sideline sometimes can be very hard to defend so give a lot of credit to this secondary they were all on the same page and the ball Falls incomplete now quick throw pick up a couple yards you got to pick your chances of when you want to be aggressive and you got to make sure you make better decisions going forward momes going to throw here on third down oh he's got a man that's got to imagine as the game unfolds they'll sprinkle in some runs but so far it's been their passing game to get this game started and that last one results in a first down he's got his tight end that's Travis Kelsey and that keeps him ahead of schedule hand on the ground in line but they can occasionally split out in the slop and man they're too fast for linebackers and a lot of times they're too big for defensive backs right back to the air for moms from the inside the 10 it is caught they continue to wear this defense out they have to find a way to end this drive with points anything short of that be a bit of a let down here's PCO he'll be here now second down and goal one more time with p and that big offensive lock clearing space he's in Isaiah P Harrison bucker now for the extra [Applause] point it's up and through and the Chiefs wi seven nothing is our score as this kick is sent into the air Justice Hill to return and he'll work this one past the 25 to right about the 28 yd line where his game has developed defensive coordinators they don't sleep very much when they know they're facing this guy and all the problems that he presents and that is incomplete Rashad bait on this secondary and let them know hey all game long today you better defend every blade of grass cuz we're coming out of fire even though that ball Falls incomplete it goes a long way in setting up the rest of start and every offensive coordinator has Drive starters meaning it's a completion it's a run play that we feel great about it's a screen get a little positive energy into that huddle and what hopefully starts out good ends with you being able to get some for first down I'd like to see them do a better job here the rest of the game Mike just guising the coverage from the pr level and what they see before the ball's in their hands is the exact same thing they see once they do get the ball everything is just so much easier for them to process change the look change the coverages move your safeties they become more of a pass Centric defense and really tips the scales into your favor they'll go again here with Henry and he gets four yds back through one they come to the line needing 11 here on third down from the gun Jackson open man right up run in the open field and make people Miss he's able to pick up a huge game it's the tight end likely in [Applause] motion on play action here's Jackson that's downfield and he's got Andrews his tight end at the top of the break you have to give the quarterback what they call an indicator step that's your cut where you set your angle and then once that Ball's out go chase it down and in this case he's able to pick up the first [Applause] down nice job finding the seam gain of about nine just a yard short of that first down second and a yard Henry tries to pull his way in and that'll give him a first down tackle to drive alive this opening drive it has been a work of art now can they put the finishing touches on it's first he slams it in there and he is in round to get the score and Greg the big guys up front they deserve some Praise on that one absolutely Mike and now Justin Tucker for the point after [Applause] the [Applause] kick each team one possession each team a score 7 S as they kick it off very good kick off returnable from the four he's across the 20 take now m firing right side brought in by Brown here's second and [Music] nine throwing from the gun here's Patrick that one pulled in by right now on that field there's no mistaken who it [Applause] is oh a bad time to run out of time they don't get the play off on third thir and [Applause] short on third down Ms he's got his tight end it's Kelsey 18 yds on the connection if I was in a critical situation there is no doubt while I'm going with the ball to the air once more it's m they'll get about four after this here's a second and six on play action it's m left side it's about being balanced but as you're seeing in this drive you can fall on one side of that coin a little bit more as long as you're able to remain effective and efficient so far their passing game has dominated here early and that last pickup leads to a first down Zone coverage you got to find green grass get past the first down marker be friendly to the quarterback and then the ball has to be out on time before those Zone Defenders can react to the receiver so they come to the line for first down and 10 throwing again it's [Music] Ms and that one is complete along the boundary good job of getting those feet in back and wasn't a whole lot fancy here the qub back just dumps the ball down a quick underneath completion and then really it's the yards after catch that did the rest and that's what it takes you're not always going to have the perfect play you're not always going to dial up the perfect play against the perfect and he'll take it on in IR Smith touchdown KC [Applause] he's got it and the chief we'll see if they can do anything with this kickoff that is coming their way he'll work his way across the 25 yd line the Ravens offense going to get it one last time here no motion over fls Jackson now to throw on first down and he'll wind up out of bounds P the operating on the exact same page the anticipation the timing the accuracy of the both the route and the ball and when they're working together like this that's the definition of teach and good yardage there after the catch they wind up with a gain of seven on first down and three fourth coming in motion comes Andrews Jackson now on second down this throw right is taken in by F Jackson up top again he'll go right back to flow and he's into the endzone J flowers touchdown Baltimore heading into the [Applause] break he gets it to go and time final moments of this first half as the kicks [Applause] away on first down it's Mom and Marlin humpry is there and he picks it off nothing the defense loves more Greg than the opportunity to not only stop a team but turn him back around the other way a touchdown on the pick six yeah the defense just loves getting their hands on the ball when they can Mike but it is extra special when they're able to capitalize and take it all the way back he's got it and the Ravens have broken first half and they will kick it away this kick is fielded In The End Zone but to throw is [Applause] Ms taking a shot for Smith Houston that's going to be incomplete they took a shot on the final Play Prayer not answered and that is how this first he normally does making his impact felt in that first half he wound up finding the End Zone on a touchdown run to help give his guys the advantage here at the break both of these offenses had their share of high points in that first half each team has some big moments and if would seemed this could turn out to be a game for the last score third quarter set to commence and we're back underway here on EA Sports Hardy now with the return and he'll bring it out to the 22 yd line that's where the offense will take the field the Ravens offense ready to get going again they'll have it first in this third quarter they lead by a touchdown as this drive begins with first and [Applause] 10 it's the tight end likely in motion on first down they'll start the drive with Henry and he'll get back maybe to the line of scriage but probably going to be a loss of a yard here with the struggles they had running the ball in the first half Mike and makes sense that they're trying here early in the second to get this ball carrier going but this last Run's not going to do him any favors another Rush another loss of yards in motion comes Andrews second down Jackson and that one knocked away it's incomplete J flowers the intended receiver and it's going to be third down and up until this point this has been an incredibly efficient game from this quarterback I mean it's hard to think here we are in the second half and that's only his second incomplete pass so finally the defense is able to do something to disrupt his timing and finally try to get him out of and they will continue to go backwards he's taken down for a sack this is the stop they talked about this is how they wanted to start this second half and try to get back some of this momentum they lost in the first now can their offense capitalize and take advantage with this possession so the drive ends and on comes Jordan Scout to kick it away back Xavier [Applause] worthy and he's going to make a fair catch just beyond his own 40 yd line [Applause] [Applause] the break the Huddle coming up now for first and [Applause] 10 mes quickly out to rice and they'll get about half of what they needed it's a pick up of five and sets up second and five the timing of these RPO Concepts that's the entire key remember Mike different than the college game these offensive linen they're blocking for the run but if that ball gets pulled the pass option of the play they're not allowed downfield in the college game they get a three yd window that they're allowed to be down field even on a forward pass that's not the rule in the NFL these decisions have to be made quickly if not even after a good pickup you could be coming back due to a flag third and five line Ms out of the pistol he'll throw he'll get this one complete to Brown that catch puts him over the 100 yd Mark here tonight and it gives the team a first down this is Clinic tape for any young wide receiver out there watching this guy run routes he has the defender thinking everything is a go ball attack him vertically and then when you get to your route depth you stick that foot in the ground you break in balls on time results in a nice first down pickup now Ms gives it to Peko he'll work his way ahead for a gain of about four [Applause] [Music] [Applause] they'll stay on the ground and stay with the Checker and this takes him into the Red Zone he's brought down inside the 20 yd line they get 15 on that game first down KC this is one of those cases where having high-end speed in the back field can be such a game Cher the offensive linemen don't need to hold their blocks quite as long you give this guy a little bit of a crease and man he is gone [Applause] they put Kelce in motion they will not get this one off it'll be a delay of game [Applause] out of the gun here's Ms a short throw taken in by Kelsey how fast things can flip you find yourself in first in a mile after taking a penalty on first down but that chunk play there in the passing game now gets them back in sequence with the chains and brings up a more manageable second down they'll work now on second and [Applause] four from the shotgun it's moms and this drive is going to continue he's taken down but they are set up with first and goal [Applause] to throw is Ms to the goal line and in Travis Kelce touchdown Jeeps [Applause] bucker now to add the [Applause] P it's up and good and the Chiefs will even the score it's now 21 [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] so back to level after the touchdown and time for the kickoff Hardy now with the return and they'll bring him down just shy of the 30 yd line the Ravens offense ready to see what they can do with this next possession this one tight throughout all level of 21 as they'll search for a go-ahead score they'll come up here first and 10 now it's Jackson now a screen set up for Henry and the mark them down just shy of the 40 it's a nice start to the drive a gain of 10 and a quick first down I like the call using the screen as a drive starter to pick up a chunk play and get this offense into some Rhythm it's clear this offensive play caller anticipated the rush of the defense and he was able to use it against them off the play fake Jackson and is knocked away incomplete good coverage there defensively all over and it'll be second down well not exactly breaking news here Mike they got speed on the perimeter that just not a lot of teams in the NFL had so even though that ball Falls incomplete I think they have to continue to do it continue to pressure this defense and make them defend the entire field because as they're worried about him running by them there is a lot of space open underneath just pushing guys away as he takes this forward for a gain of seven [Applause] so we are through three we'll return with more after this this is the NFL on EA Sports they'll come up to third and three the shot here's Jackson and that is incomplete timing and Trust critical elements of this quick passing game if you're Target and the quarterback are not on the same page it winds up being an incompletion and a wasted down Ravens bring their punt team out important punt here in this tie game late take it in back at his own 12 and a nice return there the offense not going to be backed up as much as they could have Drive is going to start from Beyond the 20 so now out comes the offense led by their quarterback as they take over once again and he has been in control this offense want to run you through some of the action from earlier on you've got the two touchdown pass over 200 passing yards he has been excellent all game [Applause] long so here's a first and 10 now they'll start from the 24 Patrick to throw working the right side taken in by [Applause] rice second and [Applause] seven they put Kelsey in [Music] motion and the back judge throws the flag he looks at the ball looks at the clock clock says zero that's a delay again on second down momes he'll get that complete to Isaiah p nice gain here he's going to be marked down at the 35 yd line call it a gain of 13 first down KC you want to be a star in the NFL mate these are the high pressure moments that you can't shy away from the greats they embrace it tie ball game fourth quarter the game is on the line everyone in the stadium knows where that ball is going and I can't blame it and he's going to be brought down up 45 give him 12 on that one they are on the March another first down every quarterback's dream is can I get the ball out of my hand as fast as possible and get it to a guy that can do the rest after the catch and it seems like nowadays throughout the entire league the best offenses Thrive yards after the catch this may look like a simple connection Mike just pitch and catch but I can promise you the amount of time these two guys have spent together on the practice field in the meeting rooms just getting on the same page seeing the game through the same set of eyes it makes what's pretty difficult seem a lot [Applause] easier they'll run and he's going to be close to a first down looks like he'll have just enough to keep the change moving [Applause] throwing from the gun here's Patrick that's over the middle and caught by rice and they bring him down but not until they get inside the 30 yd line that's pitch three just on this drive and it gets his team a first down well if it ain't broke don't fix it they clearly have a mismatch in their favor and every time they've looked his way he's continued to make big plays if I'm this coordinator I think I'm giving him one more shot and see if he can push this thing over the goal line and Come Away with six a fresh set of downs to work with it is first down and 10 they put Kelsey in motion play clock has expired we're not going to get this one off on [Applause] [Applause] [Music] top they put Kelsey in motion momes back that's going to be caught by Greg oh and they're going to be set up in the Red Zone they got it inside the 15 the defense could not bring him down it's a catch and run of 22 yds just seems like every year Mike the tight end position just continues to grow within the passing game and establishes a bigger and bigger role and listen I know I'm biased but if you want to have a good passing game you better have a good tight end keep the ball a run with Pacho and he Maneuvers his way forward a gain of six this just shows why you can't count on just one guy to take him down he's a powerful enough Runner you've got to have guys coming in support when that first hit is made it takes a team effort to stop him especially once he gets going now second and four here's PCO and the Chiefs are going to be set up with first and goal he couldn't quite break the plane but they'll have it at the one yd line looks to be an injured player and oh no it's Travis Kelce who is being looked at that is a worrisome development here late in the game [Applause] now first and [Applause] goal he'll run with Theo he'll struggle to get back to the line of scrimmage maybe he gets a yard out of that one it's second down [Applause] [Music] [Applause] they'll try to run this one in and he does get up inside those big bodies up front and he's in Isaiah P touchdown Kansas City that his second touchdown tonight good drive they kept the ball Greg they moved it effectively down the field and finish it off on the ground for the touchdown so often Mike we see teams work on a great drive to get down here close only to settle for a field goal but in this case give them a lot of credit they put a great drive together but they're able to capitalize and finish it off with six [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so the lead is seven now here in this fourth quarter the tie has been broken let's see what happens on this [Applause] kickoff and their Drive will begin at the 30 yd line the Ravens offense ready to come back out for this next possession big trail here by a touchdown as this drive will start with a first down aalor goes off in motion they'll drop to throw and he can't hang on through the contact it's incomplete what a good job defensively to meet him just as the ball was arriving and it'll be second down great job there defensively separating the man from the ball and this is the moments of the game where you need your best players to step up this guy's showing what he's capable of doing in the game's critical moment aalor goes off in motion from the gun Jackson aalor able to make the catch and nice work after the catch he stopped a little short of the first down marker but it is a pick up of n the crowd at Arrowhead roaring here's third down in motion comes Andrews on Third and one here's Jackson he's got his tight end that's Andrew and he's out of bounds with the first down so they get a new set of downs and just as importantly stop the clock well nothing real fancy here Mike not a huge pickup but anytime on third down you got to know where the sticks are who's your most reliable player and I think everybody in this booth knows exactly what position that is again it's Jackson That's downfield and he's got Andrews his tight end and he has got this one all the way down to the 2yd line line following the completion we'll get a stoppage here for an injured player that is a worrisome development here late in the [Applause] game here we go first and goal Lamar going to work from the pistol he's got his big tight end touchdown Ravens Greg it's the quarterback's best friend and you were that guy for a lot of years the tight end in a tight area with man coverage yeah it's really twofold Mike right first and foremost we see so many of these tight ends around the league that now have gotten to the point where one-on-one matchups that's Advantage offense but then even in the cases they don't create great separation Mike it's their size their catch radius it's such a friendly Target for the quarterback that when things get tight in the Red Zone they look to the tight end the extra point is good a big one as we are tied late in this football game [Applause] tie game still time to break that tie though as you see maybe we're on a two-minute offense and the Kick's in the air he'll be brought down right around the 25 yd line when you think back to the first half Mike just how well he threw the ball and you thought maybe this defense would come up with some answers in the second half to slow him down but so far that has proven to not be the [Applause] case this is first and [Applause] 10 gray is the motion man here to the tight end and he fits it in on the corner rout and he's going to be taken down at the 37 now KC going to use the second of their timeouts get the stoppage with just over 50 seconds to go in this one [Applause] final minute one timeout remaining and it's first and 10 throwing is Mom and a good effort there defensively it's kned away and incomplete he decides to go with this safe throw and throws it well short of the sticks and at this level Mike you just can't miss layups like back they'll come up now for second down gray is the motion man here believe momes now to throw on second down and that one knocked away it's incomplete there's a fine line between trusting your arm and having a little bit too much faith in your arm right I think this is one of those situations here Mike where there was no to go with the ball he tries to fit that one in there anyway and he's lucky that it just Falls [Music] [Applause] incomplete motion man is rice momes going to throw here on third down open man that's the tight end gray two receptions for him on this drive this one good for 16 yds this is what every offense looks to do Mike they want to attack the middle of the field that's the most valuable real estate in football often times that's where the chunk plays come give it to your receiver on the move and let them do the rest to the air once more it's Mom catch made by Smith Shuster and he's brought down after a gain of six on first down [Applause] right back to the air from moms that's deep for the back of the end zone that is incomplete so the task gets more difficult time for maybe two plays that's it so of course you prefer to connect on that throw but think about it like this Mike the more they continue to test this defense downfield the more it's going to open up some of those shorter passes underneath and he has missed this one no good and this game in all likelihood is headed to overtime man that's just a tough one to swallow You' got a chance to win the game right here at the end of regulation but after that costly Miss they're going to see if they can pull this one out but in overtime so out comes a guy who's been here before big spot for Justin Tucker this to win the game and this one is going to run out of Steed this is short it's no good and now the momentum swings to the other sideline here in overtime [Applause] four quarters could not determine a winner we get back underway here in overtime from the six here comes a return and he'll be taken down as the next d Drive will begin there so here comes the KC offense set to take over once more they'll begin with first and [Applause] [Applause] 10 throwing quickly that's more on the RP and he'll be taken down rather swiftly after a gain of just [Applause] [Applause] three a give here to p and nothing on that one back to the line of scrimmage and that is it you could just see the frustration on the running back's face as he's getting helped up off the ground like there was just nowhere to go from the moment he was handed the ball give credit to the defense great job they're going to try to pick this up on Third and eight off the play fake Ms he's got his man right side it's complete 16 yd pick up on that one and the Chiefs have a first down outbreaking routes Mike especially outside of the numbers everything is about the timing if you're late with the throw you're going to be watching that defensive back take that thing the other way for six set to go now on First and [Applause] 10 out of the gun here's Ms to the outside catch made by Brown and they'll move this ball way down into the Red Zone inside the 20 yd line he got loose after the grab and they couldn't bring him down a gain of 28 defense does a nice job here initially using Zone coverage to take away the middle of the field that's the most valuable real estate in football quarterback gets off his first read sees some openings to the sideline and him and his receiver are able to connect they put Kelsey in [Applause] motion play clock down to zero that's going to be a [Applause] [Applause] delay from the shotgun it's moms that's complete to Rice [Applause] throwing again it's Ms short pass taken in by Kelsey and nice work there after the catch he's a little short of the first down after a gain of seven so the hope is when you call these underneath drag routes you're trying to have your tight end come out the backside of the defense in space so when you put the ball on them early it leads to Big yards after the catch in this case they don't get the real big play they were hoping for but they'll definitely take it momes now on Third and two that one on target to more and they're going to have enough to convert here and it sets up first and goal really nice job here by the quarterback understanding what did he need to pick up a fresh set of downs in this case that underneath drag route was all it took get the ball into the hands of your receiver pick up a first down ball sitting on the three it is first down and goal momes now to throw again that is caught he got it and that's a game winner here over over time what a terrific play at the back of the endzone Greg that is so hard to do but something you did during your career how do guys pull that off yeah the key here Mike is the concentration to not only see the ball but then you have to feel the ground you have to know exactly where you are in the backline of the end zone and tell you what this is about as good as it gets come down with the ball two feet in bounds touchdown [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so thanks to that recent rule change still the chance to extend this game and match that opening overtime score as they receive the kickoff here and it'll be brought down past the 25 decent field position to start this drive so here's the Baltimore offense getting set for their next Drive they'll start out first down and 10 now a first throw here in overtime pass pulled in by Henry and he will not get a away terrific open field tackle gets him down behind the line to play Corner in this league Mike you have to have great reactions and instincts in this case he trusts those instincts from the jump and he's able to send the offense going backwards as a result second down Jackson open man is baaton he's got him and he'll be brought down but not before they get this all the way up near Midfield they get 24 on that one first down Baltimore well goes without saying you want to play wide receiver in the NFL Mike how well can you change directions how fast can you get your body from one direction to another and when you can cut like this guy I'm not sure how you guard him up first down throw for Jackson this one complete to baitman and they'll move this one down inside the 40 yd line backto back targets backto back completions that one for 16 and the first down throwing with anticipation it not only requires the confidence in both your accuracy and the but it also forces the receiver to be on time and where the quarterback expects you to be and this is one of those examples man when those two things are on point it results in a first down 19 more on that one and another first down Mike you've heard me say a thousand times the easiest down to throw the ball in the NFL is first down I hate when teams wait till later in The Possession to throw the ball so early first down you're on the plus side of the field now you're thinking stri touchdown field goal but either way I'm coming away with points that's one he'd love to have back an opportunity to score six was right there for the taking just wasn't quite meant to be they'll try again here second and 10 Jackson up top again that's for the tight end col well he's brought down that pass is going to pick up four and bring up third down when you put plays like this on tape it sends a message to every Defender across the league when you play this offense and this guy has the ball you better bring it when you come to contact him cuz if not you're going to be on the wrong end and this is going to be incomplete that's great work to get in there and make things difficult defensively setting up a fourth down that was a perfectly timed hit and I think it actually saved six points mik he got there just as the ball did and I think it was the contact that separated him from the ball now Jackson on fourth down that's taken in it's a gain of 10 as they get the conversion on fourth down so first off nice job picking up enough for the first first down but I got to be honest Mike when he caught it I thought he was going to put his foot in the ground and get physical and run through contact and try to score I'm not so sure why he just so quickly ran out of bounds even though he was able to pick up the first that is H he got it and that's a game winner here in overtime tight spaces down there things happen quick Greg a quick decision and great execution for the score four you're exactly right Mike down here this close to the goal line everybody's clock has to speed up not only the quarterback processing to get the ball out of his hand but you have to win as a receiver quickly and give the quarterback somewhere to go with the ball it was that quickness at the line of scrimmage that led to that touchdown they could have tried for the win instead they'll go for one to extend the game and an exhale there extra point is good now next score wins as we play on here in overtime [Applause] so back to level after the touchdown time for the kick up but dangerous mikole Hardman on the return he'll get this up to the 28 yd line nice place for the drive to start [Applause] on First and 10 it's Ms a very quick throw there but not on the same page with his Target that's incomplete Travis Kelce the intended target and that will lead to a second down it's one of those balls where the quarterback wishes there was a string the second it came out of his hand he wished he could just pull it back because from the moment it left his hand that looked like a sure interception and the only reason it wasn't because the defender just flat out drop and that's going to be incomplete coverage always good that time the contact jarring the ball loose and forcing third down [Music] [Applause] throwing from the gun here's Patrick oh he's got a man that's caught by Brown and'll be taken down but it takes them across Midfield down to the 40 yd line a huge play there in overtime 33 yards everyone talks about all the physical qualities to play quarterback in the NFL Mike and of course that's a given but it's really the cerebral approach to the game that separates the best from everybody else and I think both of those things were on display there as he did not only a great job of finding the vulnerabilities of the back end but then once his guy was there it was that arm talent that put the ball in the exact right spot to allow his guy to make the big [Applause] [Applause] play once again it's p up and he'll be taken down at the 25 yd line a gain of 11 on that one good for a Chiefs first down when the offense broke the Huddle in a line Mike I think everybody in the stadium knew this was going to be a run but the offense is kind of saying okay line up I dare you to try to stop us and right now this defense has no answers not much to speak of on that one maybe a gain of a yard it's second [Applause] down from the gun here's Theo maybe a couple there it's third down [Applause] here's Edward left [Applause] big moment for a guy who's made some big kicks in his career Harrison bucker this one to win it in overtime now a timeout here by Baltimore that's going to be their second [Applause] big moment for a guy who's made some big kicks in his career Harrison bucker this one he's got to have this kick is good he got it it took overtime but they will walk off the field with the victory so this one in the wind column for the Chiefs this is a CO game they were able to get themselves into the field goal range here at OT kick through the uprights to final goes out this [Music] Victory so
