NBC sketch show Saturday Night Live is responsible for Lauren I need to talk to you you can't let Tina go out there with that woman she goes against everything we stand for I mean good Lord laen number 30 Pete Davidson versus the season 45 cast it's so crazy you got a lot going on bro yeah a little bit in a 2020 interview with radio host Charlamagne the god Davidson aired his grievances as to how the show tackled his widely publicized personal life no stranger to press coverage the comedian bemoaned SNL's tendency to depict him as a quote idiot and that he didn't quote know whose team they were playing for additionally he could not discern quote if I'm the joke or I'm in on the joke I think like I come across very like intense and like I think that scares a lot of people away so youve scared a lot of women away oh yeah for sure I think all of them I think they all are terrified while Davidson attributed this to the show's notoriously Cutthroat deathly competitive working environment it wasn't any easier to feel like he was routinely being mocked by his co-workers Davidson eventually left the show after its 47th season finale in 2022 returning in 2023 to host the season 49 Premiere with musical guest ice spice we got a great show for you tonight I is here so Sarat will be right back number 29 Chevy Chase versus SNL and Pete Davidson I always open the show is it understood yeah yeah hey look I do the fall and I say live from New York Saturday night it's my trademark speaking of Pete it had seem that he doesn't just have beef with his contemporaries but also with SNL alumni too in a 2018 interview with the Washington Post Chase went on an angry profane rant about the state of the show expressing disbelief belief that Lauren Michaels quote had gone so low and calling it quote the worst humor in the world colored redneck jungle bunny peka W bhead cracker in response Davidson said of Chase quote he's just a genuinely bad racist person and I don't Michael Phelps and countless others but Milton Burl might take the cake as the biggest nightmare to deal with the famously clean comedian who reportedly swore excessively behind the scenes was well known in Hollywood for completely taking over the sets of television shows he worked on it probably goes without saying that this did not make him very popular with Lauren Michaels and the Gang Tammy baby come over here while you're waiting for your brother okay why don't you sit down on Old Uncle Wayne's all right as if predetermining the show's structure without Michael say so wasn't bad enough Burl is alleged to have exposed himself to writer alen weell Michaels promptly banned Burl from ever hosting again which he didn't prior to his death in March 2002 next door to my room must be a numerous occasions after efforts to incorporate fear into the soundtrack of his film neighbors failed balushi made up for it by getting them booked on SNL in October 1981 the band brought with them a gang of Mosers who performed with the band and reportedly cost the show $20,000 in damages including for some reason ripe pumpkins that the Mosers incorporated into their [Music] act unsurprisingly these multiple acts of rebellion led to Michael's permanently Banning fear from the show thank you very much great to be here in New Jersey number 25 Lou CK versus Lauren Michaels and so I grew up of the 70s so I'm not racist however I do have mild racism and now for the trilogy's riveting conclusion interviewed by Jud appau for his 2015 book sick in the head consisting of interviews with stand-up comedians the now disgraced CK revealed that Michaels had taken issue with the length of his planned monologue Michaels informed CK that he would have to remove four minutes of material from his planned 12 minute set to meet broadcast standards like if I go uh to a pizza place I've never been to before and it's run by four black women all go like uh hm see it's very mild it's extremely mild racism the Emmy winner was told by Michaels that if he couldn't then quote we'll know that you're very undisciplined and unprofessional in sense CK successfully made the cuts with Michael ch's help and later praised Michael's comedic intuition say to appal that quote Michaels knows exactly what he's doing here's another example of mild racism if I say I'm in a hospital and the doctor comes in to treat me and the doctors from China or India I'll think well good good good more of that why not number 24 Shane Gillis versus SNL most of you probably have no idea who I am uh I was actually I was fired from this show uh a while ago but but if you know don't look that up please being cast on SNL is a comedian's dream validation of everything you've worked for in your career and of your skills as a comic in 2019 stand-up comedian Shane Gillis had this dream fulfilled before being fired merely 4 days later I don't know I this is I I probably shouldn't be up here honestly I should be home I should be I should be a high school football coach that's what I should be shortly after the Network's announcement that Gillis had been cast damning excerpts from a podcast co-hosted by Gillis resurfaced the clips featured Gillis and Matt mccusker his co-host using offensive language including slurs while Gillis claimed the excerpts had been taken out of context he later apologized and expressed regret for how he'd initially handled the situation it appears that this Feud is now water under the bridge as Gillis was invited back to host in 20124 you know like uh you know like when a a woman's biological clock is ticking she sees like a Bab in a stroller and is like oh my God you're baby like that's how I am if I see like like a big 15-year-old I'm like Oh my God look at the size of that kid with the right coaching that kid could be something special I'm telling you right now number 23 Charles rocket versus Eddie Murphy and now Weekend Update with Anchorman Charles rocket good evening I'm Charles rocket here now the news did you know that Lauren Michaels wasn't always the SNL showrunner Michaels as well as the Show's original cast exited SNL prior to the 1980 81 season cuz you know what Will Smith says about wizard right you know I'm saying Wizards this it's very very good Will Smith he elaborated saying that the show had pigeon hold him due to his uncanny knack for Impressions the star of Showtime short-lived white famous also shared that he had once found himself in hot water due to his advocacy for more black women to be cast Pharaoh clarified that he and Lauren Michaels remained on good terms after his departure I spoke up and said there are no black women when I yeah when I said what I said and it got on the Grio and it went viral almost freaking lost my job D number 21 Chevy Chase versus John balushi now here to reply is our chief meteorologist uh John Belushi with a seasonal report thank you Chevy let's be totally clear here this is not the last time you will see either of these gentlemen on this list Chase and Belushi's professional rivalry was an Open Secret on the SNL set according to chase balushi was supposedly envious of Chase's allegedly denied the theft upfront Chase claims to have seen the vial he'd kept it in at Belushi's apartment and and it's not Australia now now you'd think it would be Australia but it's not a rock pal number 20 Al Frank versus NBC making jokes about the president of NBC might not be the smartest move Franken was one of the original SNL writers starting with the first season in 1975 at the end of season 5 producer Lauren Michaels needed a break and recommended Al take his place however Franken ruined his chances by performing a weekend update sketch that criticized then NBC president Fred Silverman but he still gets limousine service I like to call it a limo for the layo he was not amused and refused to let Franken succeed Michaels the pair left the show at the end of the season along with the entire cast and most of the writers it is still one of the biggest shakeups in SNL history number 19 Jim Brewer versus Adam McCay it's well known that writers and cast members duke it out to get their sketches on air but no cast member has been quite as vocal about this challenge as Jim Brewer in the years since he left SNL he spoken profus about his run-ins with headwriter Adam McKay that name might sound familiar he co-wrote famous comedies like Anchor Man and directed Oscar nominated films like don't look up back in their SNL days McKay and Brewer frequently buted heads about sketches I think I may be and I I want to challenge all SNL cast and writers I may be the last one that threatened violence in fact producer Lauren Michaels asked Jim to play nice with McKay when he said he wouldn't Brewer was promptly let go from the show after only three seasons I went to my refs and went I don't want to be on that show anymore if he's the main person number 18 Nora Dunn versus everyone Nora Dunn was one of a handful of cast members to survive the purge after the 1985 86 season that saw big names like Robert Downey Jr fired yeah what else can you do in it exactly in her five protesting and both John Lovitz and Victoria Jackson accused her of backstabbing and not being a team player at the end of the season Dunn was not asked to return number 17 Julia Sweeney versus male cast and writer no one can deny that the SNL season starring Adam Sandler Chris Rock and David Spade are some of the most iconic and memorable but for Sweeney being one of the only women during the bad boys of SNL era didn't work out well she did find success with her androgynous character Pat what a wonderful surprise but other than that Sweeney was relegated to few line parts and background characters after her fourth season she left the show to pursue other projects including the feature film its pad I hopped aboard that bus knowing that I was on the road to Fame and Fortune she's since gone on to have a lengthy movie and TV career with several successful onew woman shows that'll show them Julia number 16 Donald Trump versus Lauren Michaels Trump is not known for holding back his thoughts about well pretty much everything so it's no surprise that he's been vocal about his impersonation on SNL do you have a message for Al I think I'm a much nicer guy than he's portraying he's portraying somebody who's very mean and nasty and I'm not mean and nasty before and during Trump's presidency Alec Baldwin played him to much a claim from everyone except Trump but it was the portrayal by cast member James Austin Johnson that caused Trump to take some Jabs at executive producer Lauren Michaels thank you very much is Mike Pence dead yet after an episode that aired in October 2022 Trump took to truth social to post quote LM is angry and exhausted the show even more so he also said that ratings were huge when he hosted the show but are now so low the show should be put out of its misery Lauren Michaels could not be reached for comment number 15 Damon wein versus SNL producers who is it who's knocking on my door it's one of the shortest ten yearses in SNL history Wayan's lasted less than one season fired after just 12 episodes way felt the producers and writers didn't let him showcase his talents and instead gave him bit Parts way decided to take matters into his own hands during a live performance he completely changed his character from a tough cop to an effeminate one why you ain't in jail Miss oh that's right you missed the monopol this broke Lauren Michaels no improv Rule and WS was immediately fired thankfully he went on to write and star in the comedy sketch show In Living Color it became a cultural phenomenon and helped launch the careers of superstars like Jim Carrey Jamie Fox and Jennifer Lopez number 14 Pete Davidson versus Lou CK this one might be less of a feud and more of a tattletail situation at the end of his first season on SNL Davidson retreated to his office to celebrate this party of one involved him smoking some Devil's lettuce this seemed to offend that week's host Lou CK who accused Pete of ruining his career by smoking too much and I was like so high was like that didn't happen I was like no know Pete even received a call from Lauren Michaels who suggested he curb his drug use he jokingly agreed but we get the sense that CK's comment didn't change Pete's mind too much and then he goes uh yeah so I guess uh you know what you could do is I guess you know because I he said you smoke a lot of weed so maybe you could just like watch uh the amount of weed that you smoke and I was like all right I'll watch I was like I'll never leave it out of my sight I was like no problem man of my word thankfully he went on to Star on SNL for seven more seasons number 13 nor McDonald versus NBC if the president of NBC asked you to stop making jokes about his friend most people would probably oblige but not Norm McDonald during his weekend update hosting gig Norm incessantly ripped on OJ Simpson presuming his guilt in his Sensational murder trial this week at the OJ Simpson trial the infamous bloody glove was finally introduced into evidence and OJ didn't help his case any by blurting out there it is I've been looking all over for that thing this didn't sit well with his friend and West Coast NBC president Don he fired Norm from Weekend Update saying he was not funny enough and he even refused to promote Norm's film debut Dirty Work which tanked at the box office but has since become a cult classic note yourself learn to fight thankfully Norm went on to have a prolific TV film and standup career who's not funny again number 12 Chevy Chase versus the mid99s and mid 80s casts not known for his friendly demeanor this SNL Alum returned several times in the 80s and 9s to host the show during his hosting stints just like when he was a cast member Chevy managed to outrage just about everyone will Ferell overheard him making misogynistic comments to a female writer he ridiculed Robert Downey Jr about his deceased father and he made homophobic jokes about Terry Sweeney SNL's first openly gay star and these are just the insults we know about Chase hasn't been asked back to host the show since 1997 uh I've gotten to a place where it doesn't really matter what people write or say because it's only an instant of of of an instant of my life number 11 Lauren Michaels versus Steven Seagal could Sagal be the worst host ever to Grace the SNL stage According to some cast members Lauren Michaels would say an emphatic yes apparently Seagal gave many of the writers a tough time requesting that he be allowed to write his own sketches his comedic timing was also way off and he refused to poke fun at himself or his career I don't want you to say my name anymore you hear me when asked to appear in a sketch where Hans and fron beat him up Seagal went so far as to lock himself in his dressing room this not God I didn't see you I couldn't help overhearing what you guys were saying Michael's B Seagal from hosting and he hasn't returned to 30 rocks since 1991 number 10 will frell versus Chris Katan will frell and Chris Katan were beloved during their times on SNL with characters like the Roxbury guys still making us laugh hysterically however things allegedly got Frosty during production for the night at the rockbury movie what Katan in his Memoir claims he was pressured by SNL Creator Lauren Michaels to pursue a romantic relationship with a prominent potential director for the movie Katan reportedly went along with it and maintained that frell then disapprovingly gave him the silent treatment before ending the Friendship no stop talking to me fine my pleasure fine nice we hope they can mend fenes and bring the rockbury guys back at least one more time hey for the sweating what are you doing don't H your head is so stupid head number nine Tracy Morgan versus Jimmy Fallon one of the most fun parts of watching SNL is seeing cast members try and fail to contain their Amusement on air however Jimmy Fallon's habit of laughing during sketches or breaking is notorious among SNL fans Dave Dave Dave David David it also reportedly earned him an enemy in his SNL co-star Tracy Morgan in a 2007 interview Morgan talked about his dislike for Fallon's cracking up and dropped hints that Fallon only did so for attention yeah for your information guy Morgan also said that he instructed Fallon not to laugh during their sketches together Morgan has appeared on the Fallon hosted Tonight Show multiple times so Feud over I love you so much man I miss you thank you I love you too Jay I'm happy that you came into in studio so many things to talk to you about thank you for having me number eight Victoria Jackson versus everybody when you think of labels to describe SNL cast members religious conservative isn't necessarily the first thing that Springs to mind but Victoria Jackson reportedly rubbed numerous cast members the wrong way for among other reasons proz about her faith first of all I'm a mother first and I'm a Christian second and I'm a wife SL lover third and I'm a um housekeeper fourth and fifth I'm a news reporter Dennis fifth in my priority some also took issue with her demeanor and even her high-pitched voice which Jackson says is caused by a medical condition Woody what Woody is related to Woody [Laughter] Allen in a confrontation with cast member Al Franken Jackson reportedly suggested it was her mission to save the other cast members from Hell Jackson has become even more outspoken about her beliefs since leaving SNL I know when I was 6 years old I learned in Baptist Church if you love Jesus the world will attack you cuz they hate Christ number seven Kanye West versus backstage bro by 50% Stanley K Paul by 50% more influential than any other human being Kanye West has had numerous memorable appearances on SNL for good and less than good reasons in one particular case the drama happened backstage before the show west went into a rage over part of his set being dismantled by stage hands audio from this moment later leaked online and in the recording West famously goes off about breaking the internet I ain't going do this we breaking the internet but West's Bad Manners didn't get him banned from the show it took SNL honcho Lauren Michaels to calm Kanye down and the show proceeded without a hitch he was back 2 years later for the season 44 Premiere and his behavior although not a feud once again made headlines number six Eddie Murphy versus David Spade the show what happened basically I there was something I said on S live years and years ago and when I was on and then uh what' you say oh Eddie Murphy left us l in 1984 6 years before David Spade joined the cast however some bad blood reportedly formed between Murphy and the show after he left in a sketch Spade referred to Murphy who had just appeared in the poorly received Vampire in Brooklyn as quote a falling star look children it's a falling star make a wish yeah yes Murphy says he didn't take too kindly to this teasing and that the negative feelings lasted for years my feelings are so hurt that I loved Eddie Murphy so much and he hated me yeah I'd rather just wonder if he ever thought I was funny now I have proof however Murphy soon resumed making box office hits and in season 45 he returned to host for the first time in 35 years in a well-received comeback number five Tracy Morgan versus Chris Katan and Sher otari SNL cast members are professionals so it's not easy to tell just by watching who does and doesn't like each other aside from Jimmy Fallon Tracy Morgan said he also had a conflict with two of his castmates the aformentioned Chris Katan and Sher oari in his autobiography I am the New Black Morgan says in very profane terms that he received poor treatment from Katana and notari and mocked the state of their post SNL careers and he didn't just leave it there when the time came to record the audio book Morgan went further into his issues with the Stars be good to Tracy Morgan or he won't be good to you man just plead case before I throw your freaky Dicky ass out of my courtroom number four Mike Myers versus Dana Carvey World excellent the Stars Behind one of SNL's greatest Duos Wayne's World hosts Wayne and G were not always so friendly behind the scenes there were reportedly some pretty big wedges between Mike Myers and Dana Carvey um you know it's funny when we see each other we just talk all over each other word was that Myers tried to keep keep Carvey from playing G in the first Wayne's World movie since he didn't want to be potentially out Shawn what am I some sort of champ with you is always as gar Jim to your Marlon Perkins Carvey also reportedly had a grudge claiming that Meyers had stolen his impression of Lauren Michaels and used it for the Dr Evil character in the Austin Powers film okay then we hold the world ransom for 100 billion [Music] Myers and Carvey have reunited multiple times since SNL so bygones may be bygones right yeah right and monkeys might flat in my butt right number three Chris Katan versus nor McDonald Chris Katan is certainly no stranger to SNL feuds in a rolling stone interview cast member nor McDonald not known for his sense of restraint had some Choice words about Katan saying among other things that he didn't think Katan was funny then I don't know what happened he just started like G Brooks was oh we did like a pitch meeting and he started saying things in the pitch meeting like you don't want to do it Katan is quoted in the same article as calling McDonald an offensive word that starts with an A are you you sure they understand what you're saying this all took place when both Katan and McDonald were on the show and according to at least one source McDonald didn't keep his dislike for Katan private on set either however after McDonald unexpectedly passed away in 2021 Katan revealed that the feud had been partly embellished for the sake of the media and that these two wildly different comedians actually shared a mutual respect and a quote comedic love frankly usually I try to have some kind of ironic twist or moral in these things but I got nothing this time number two John balushi versus the female writers and cast John balushi is widely considered to be one of the best cast members in the history of SNL I'm I'm but it seems that his views on gender were anything but good according to fellow cast member Jane curtain Belushi and others involved with crafting the show did their best to prevent material from female writers from getting through the draft stage there were a few people that just out and out believed that women should not have been there uhhuh and they believe that women were not innately funny right and uh so those were the experiences that I had that were sexist and Belushi also reportedly claimed on numerous occasions that women were not funny while a cast member doesn't have to like every idea they're offered they obviously don't have to take it to an offensive and wrong that again I'm going to you know whatever things stopped before it had a chance to really get ugly but apparently there was no sustained animosity between Murray and Chase and the two later shared a memorable scene together in catty Shack you know buddies for life I think I'll drop by you drop by my place anytime in an interview with Howard Stern Chase revealed that although not close they are friendly with one another and are on good terms yeah if someone invites you you'll go yeah and I think we've made an effort over the years to get to know each other better and to put that stuff behind
