WE'RE ALSO SEEING BIG POWER POLES IN THE STREETS IN ROCHESTER HILLS, DTE CREWS ON SITE WORKING TO REPAIR DAMAGE AND CLEAR STREETS. AND IN WAYNE COUNTY, DOWNTOWN PLYMOUTH HIT HARD BY STORMS. OVERNIGHT WE'RE SEEING BIG BRANCHES KNOCK DOWN AND POWER OUTAGES. >> AND THE QUESTION THAT HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE ASKING TONIGHT, WHEN AM I GOING TO GET MY POWER BACK? HERE'S A LIVE LOOK AT THE OUTAGE MAP. DTE SAYS THE HARDEST HIT AREAS ARE MILFORD, WAYNE WHITMORE LAKE AND DETROIT. 330,000 CUSTOMERS LOST POWER 169,000 HAVE THEIR POWER BACK. SO FAR, 7 NEWS, DETROIT BRINGING YOU TEAM COVERAGE TONIGHT. YEAH, WE'RE FOLLOWING EFFORTS TO GET THAT POWER BACK ON AND CLEAN DEBRIS FROM LAWNS AND STREETS AND HOW ONE BARBER SHOP IS GETTING HIT WITH THE LIGHTS OFF. LET'S CHECK IN FIRST WITH 7 NEWS DETROIT REPORTER WHITNEY BURNEY IN PLYMOUTH SURROUNDED BY DOWNED TREES AND POWER LINES. WELL, THIS AFTERNOON, SEVERAL ROADS HAVE BEEN CLOSED. I WAS SURPRISED HOW MANY BRANCHES WERE MY BACKYARD SINCE I DON'T HAVE A TREE. >> WOKEN UP TO A NOT SO PLEASANT SURPRISE WEDNESDAY. IT WAS ABOUT 02:30AM, IN THE MORNING. I WAS SOUND ASLEEP AND I HEARD WHAT LITERALLY SOUNDED LIKE AN AIRLINE LANDING IN OUR FRONT YARD AND JUST SAT STRAIGHT UP AND LOOKED OUT. AND THIS IS WHAT I SAW. >> HEAVY RAIN AND WIND OVERNIGHT BRINGING DOWN TREES, POWER LINES AND CLOSING ROADWAYS ARE NEIGHBOR'S TREE. LANDED ON OUR GARAGE. >> AND MY CARS IN THE GARAGE. SO AND IT'S IT COLLAPSE. THE CRASH. SO IT WAS A LOT OF DAMAGE, A LOT MORE THAN JUST INCREASED. >> WE'VE HAD WIND EARLIER, BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN AROUND WAS LIKE TORNADO LIKE CINDY UNSEEN, THE LONGER HOUSE AND DEALING WITH A MASSIVE HOLE IN THE ROOF OF THEIR GARAGE AFTER A TREE BRANCH TOPPLED. IT WAS ABOUT 2 IN THE MORNING. WE START HEARING THUNDER. >> AND WE GOT LOUDER AND LOUDER. LIGHTNING ARE HERE. SO LET'S START GETTING RIGHT MORE AND MORE RIGHT. AND THEN THERE WAS A BIG FLASH POINT VIA CHANCE OVER HERE. DTE SAYS THESE NEIGHBORS A FEW OF THE NEAR 300,000 LEFT WITHOUT POWER AFTER THOSE STORMS. >> THE UTILITY COMPANY SAYS, ALTHOUGH THE SCATTERED NATURE OF THE DAMAGE PRESENTED SOME CHALLENGES THERE, HUNDREDS OF CREWS WERE ABLE TO GET ALMOST HALF OF THOSE CUSTOMERS BACK ONLINE BY THIS MORNING AND UPGRADES TO TECHNOLOGY HELP PREVENT FURTHER OUTAGES. WE DO HAVE INSTANCES FROM THE WEATHER YESTERDAY THAT THESE BE CLOSERS HELP TO MINIMIZE THE SIZE OF THE OUTAGE. >> BECAUSE THEY WERE ABLE TO TO BREAK A CIRCUIT UP INTO SMALLER PIECES INSTEAD OF THE ENTIRE CIRCUIT LOSING POWER. IT WAS A VERY SMALL POCKET OF CUSTOMERS. >> NEIGHBORS SAY THEY'RE WORKING TO STAY OUT OF THE HEAT AS THEY AWAIT THAT RESTORATION. IT FEELS BETTER OUTSIDE THAN IN MY HOUSE. AND WE HAVE A GENERATOR FOR FOR IT. DTE SAYS THEY'RE HOPING TO HAVE 75% OF CUSTOMERS POWER RESTORED BY TONIGH
