In the News, The Hidden Struggles: Halsey's Journey with Invisible Chronic Illnesses

hey everybody Sue hits Creator the Mt method happy Thursday hope everybody's having a great day today hey I was looking at a article today that talked about the singer Hy first of all love her love her music amazing but I see that she's got some health struggles and uh they she's 29 years old and they have essentially diagnosed her with multiple problems uh s with systemic issues so she's got systemic lupus arth Artois a rare te- cell uh lymphoma disorder ERS Dan Los chogrin syndrome Mass Cell Activation Syndrome and postural or orthostatic tactic Cardis or what's called pots I'm so excited right now I am going to bring my dear here this is so awesome let's see if I can get her uh on this conversation uh and see if we can connect her live with us here she is hello oh wait a minute don't go anywhere Dr baggie how are you I'm doing great how are you s I'm gonna bring this down a little bit hang on a minute because I can't hear you if this mic on say something to me hello hello I am here hello everybody oh my go gosh so Dr Maggie we've got Hy this article that just came out I read you know she's 29 years old yeah high stress gal right she's a she's uh somebody who has just probably worked to the Bone constantly going going going stress system probably through the roof she's got a systemic lupus a rare t- Cell lympo Pro lympo prolif disorder 's Down's shog grin's Mass Cell Activation so she's got MCAS and pots all of them she's been diagnosed with and in the article it said she's very grateful that they're in remission and I think to myself are they and and I want you to talk a little bit about this because the way that I understand these kind of uh you know when your stress response goes up and your autoimmune system goes Haywire trying to downregulate you it actually works against you right and now all of a sudden you're getting diagnosed with all of these issues but is anybody really treating the cause of what's going on what do you see when you hear about somebody getting diagnosed with all these things so uh I'm really glad when someone like Hy that a lot of us know comes out with these invisible illnesses and actually talks about it because it really raises the awareness um and in her case when a lot of us look at this and a lot of you out there that deal with some of these diagnosis or symptoms when you guys get diagnosed with this you think actually that you're alone and that these are this each one of these diagnoses are super special rare zebras right now in in Hy's case she has 1 two 3 four five six known super special rare zebras right and I'm just going to list them and anybody in the audience who's listening if you even have one of them I mean you could say me to in the comment systemic lupus lupus is an autoimmune disease number one where her immune system is attacking her own DNA and her own body number one okay number two a rare te- cell lympo prolific disorder this is te- cells are your immune cells in your blood and they're doing um they're growing abnormally so another part of her immune system growing and acting abnormally number two number three Eros sto syndrome a lot of people think it's genetic but it's hypermobility we work in a community where there's a lot of people with hypermobility of their joints and they get injured a lot and they don't heal and they get injuries a lot so uh not related or related number three number four we've got chogrin another autoimmune disease that can attack joints can attack your gut your intestines your connective tissue right and then we have mass Cell Activation Syndrome how many people know what the hell I just said um Mass Cell Activation or histamine intolerance if you know what I'm talking about type it in chat is a epidemic of rising level of where people's immune system for allergy is starting to go insane at Insanity levels where you start to react allergically to everything and anything it feels like and it seems like some Rando unicorn thing it's not again it involves your her immune system allergy cells are part of your immune system and then number five postero orthostatic tachicardia syndrome what we know as pots and I'm doing a big live tonight I'm doing a big Workshop next week on this where pots porral orthostatic tardia syndrome is considered a mystery illness some many doctors consider it even fake and and it's considered untreatable where your blood pressure and your heart rate goes up and down up and down to the point where people can't drive can't walk U imbalances brain fog anxiety right right and now my big thing on it is it's an autoimmune it's an immunity issue okay all of these are and and I think the big thing that people don't talk about is that you know when you have something like um like the rare te- cell issues in the not rare exactly a it's not rare and there are particular genes like it's not that it's a disorder like you have something just certain genes turn on when you have an excessive amount of stress and it impacts your immune system there's genetics and there's what we call epigenetics so we are born with certain genetics so we have a blueprint where certain families certain people are more prone to have immune systems that can behave abnormally and then epigene gentics is when something in your environment that you're experiencing turns on the so earos D syndrome is in the family which is hypermobility you think joint issue genetics it's in the family of autoimmune issues so people who have EDS or Los Danos are at super high risk not risk all of them do uh with getting other abnormalities of the immune system or so there's that genetics right there so I don't just look at EDS and I'm like oh that's all it is and then these rare things pop up everybody I know that we deal with with EDS have all these other things come up later in life as either stress trauma right or you know sometimes even like getting an infection like Long Haul and so we'll turn on these genes this is why I'm also going to be talking about Long Haul tonight and at the workshop that I'm going to be hosting is because Long Haul symptoms are identical to the symptoms for pot postal orthostatic tachicardia syndrome well why disorders that are listed if I looked at the symptoms there are so many crossovers from symptom to symptom to symptom right or a diagnosis they're so related but again it's almost like you've got this one big aspect of she's 29 like her is constantly grading and working constantly on the grind not sleeping well not eating right maybe eating infrequently always on the go and you are depleting depleting depleting depleting your own cellular construction your body is starting to break down so all of these things tell tell everybody because I see a lot of people saying me too me too me too these are not so rare on disorders diagnosed Mo I I see these things all the time now and multiple diagnosis for one person all the same types of symptoms so I'm wondering yeah what do you do what do you do what do what like because I know you're doing a talk tonight tell people like some of the strategies so I'm just gonna tell you guys this um I was actually on a podcast over the weekend with a bunch of medical providers and they were shocked to hear me say that pots or Long Haul were real like they were shocked they literally looked at me and they were like oh it's well established that this is a this is controvers so whether it's actually real or not and I was like are you kidding me fibromyalgia fibromyalgia it's it's and that's what I said yeah I said 20 years ago we would say that everybody with fibromyalgia doctors would call it super tentorial which means it's in people's heads yes because there wasn't a good test to diagnose right and we also now know that fom Myra number one is real and number two is it's a multiple of different types of inflammation or attack against muscle joints ligaments right or fascia so it actually is a it's this fibromyalgia the name describes the symptoms but it's the symptoms of a result of different types of assault on our integrity like on our muscular Integrity system right so it is absolutely real but because there's multiple mechanisms for that to happen and there's problems with diagnosing it we told generations of people that it's in their head and they were dismissed in gaset medically gaset right so this is happening right now um to pots to mass Cell Activation to Eros Danos to Long Haul patients as well and I was educating providers about this over the weekend and so tonight I'm doing a live and it's is Long Haul Co pots this autonomia fake I'm really going to talk about why there's that perception in the medical community when there is so much medical evidence um that it absolutely is real and you can end it meaning it is a solvable problem and the problem is is that if you can't diagnose it in the conventional medical world you can't treat it right and for me number one is absolutely I can diagnose it because I see the patterns these are patterns Hy has the patterns that's right like if you look at Hy's patterns it's like she already has a known autoimmune disease she already has known white blood cell problems she already was born with Eros Dano syndrome a genetic disorder that put her at super high risk for autoimmune issues she already had has you know like so she was a Sitting Duck honestly waiting for Mass Cell Activation to show up or post orthostatic techic cardia pots to show up and look h's not alone because this happened to her at 29 it happened to me at 36 right and I you know and all of us looked slightly different flavor I didn't have Lupus I had Hashimoto autoimmune disease of my thyroid but we're all the same pattern there's a pattern here where certain people's immune system are gentically have a wound that we're born with that gets turned on and then we manifest it and show it in different ways and if you understand the pattern you don't have to sit here and say does she fit the C diagnosis for this this and this people these people are walking Billboards of this underlying genetic wound or predisposition and then we see things add on that also add in the pattern and the pattern recognition and the clear Clarity that this is what the pattern is and then the question is how do you fix it and then that that's the biggest question right there is no known solution right even to this day right now there is no one drug for fibromyalgia right I wouldn't do a drug I mean like really I mean a lot of these things I think that you're already talking about a stress response that's too high an autoimmune system that is not functioning and to me it's fatigued or it's you know it's kind of like trying to drive your car in neutral you just keep pushing gas out but you're not going anywhere and I feel like you're just accumulating accumulating more tension more stress because you're really not addressing some of the root causes and I think that's the problem with a lot of these men the root is making mistakes that's the issue the root is making mistakes and so what happens is you know even when you do computer coding and all that if the it's if the root coat that you started with has some builtin predisposition or mistakes or vulnerabilities for virals for for computer viruses to hit it like that is the base code right and then what happens is as the algorithm as the computer system as the code is being used and Amplified these mistakes keep compounding and adding more and more and then we look at all the problems all over the place and we're like where is this happening and for me it's like you got to realize that the mistake is already inherently predisposed in the root you got to look the root code and you got to say in that genome in that area in that area there's already this weakness and then these are the patterns that showed up first generation interaction with this code second generation with this code third decade with this code that interaction with that code gets Amplified and Amplified and Amplified but if you can look back straight through to from that top line all the way down to that roote you can be like uhuh this is how we fix this this is how we fix that this is how we fix that this is how we fix that but instead what we're doing we're saying there's symptoms of Lupus let's give her a drug up here over there for lupus and then taking that drug actually can even amp implify some of these other symptoms right um or um now she's got diagnosed with that other thing let's send her to the allergist and deal with that mass cell and then oh my goodness we have pots now let send her to the freaking cardiologist when it's not even a Cardiology problem and then the cardiologists are like we don't know what to do with this let throw more drugs on this so some we have some we have lots of people like Hy like myself who were put on six to 10 different medications with this Haj pod poach at that third fourth generation of this code manifestation when it's really missing all the links and connections of this pattern which I look at and I'm like oh uh a a hypers sensitive immune system you know that's been over time Amplified over and over again so let's go back and fix that immune system because we can we really can right but nobody looks at it that way uh in conventional medicine because Specialists are siloed into all their different areas of specialty yeah they they take a medication for symptomologies right we're not really looking at causal and then really going just how you say it's like a funnel if you're just sitting there up at the top you're actually compounding more problems because you're GNA get more symptoms from the medications because you're up in this top bar and you're never down under yeah and that's that's sometimes true and I'll use pots as a example where and and this is where I'm going to pull melt method in and and symptom root causes here is that with pots postal orthostatic tachicardia syndrome or Long Haul the symptoms are the same same and those of you who don't know what I'm talking about just look think about these symptoms right chronic fatigue brain fog um positional change any positional change or M minor or major can cause you to get dizzy your heart weate seems to go super fast or slow back and forth back and forth you almost think you're having anxiety and panic attack and then you end up going to the emergency room over and over again they said your heart is fine but you're like but this is going on all the time right and people get nauseated this can impact your balance right and blood pressure can also go up and down up and down up and down and so it can make you faint all sorts like these symptoms how many of you out there just based on what I just said are like that's me and even people in that population will struggle for anywhere from six months to six years to even qualify for a diagnosis of pots right and then when you do qualify for that diagnosis with a you know tilt table test your blood pressure heart rate drops a certain level and you're like barfing and fainting oh yes now you qualified for that diagnosis the first line of treatment is a set of drugs called beta blockers beta blockers are prescribed by cardiologists to slow the fast heart rate down right and so while it does slow the fast heart rate down remember these people go fast and slow remember these people these are also blood pressure medicines and remember these people's blood pressure go high and low and guess when they're fainting when their blood pressure is low and then you give them a beta blocker that yes slows down the heart drops down blood pressure more so do you guys think going to see the cardiologist to qualify for this diagnosis actually works to resolve these symptoms and I have cardiologist friends who are they want help and they say it's it doesn't work they're frustrated they're like how can we really help people and I'm going to tell you that the core wound in people with pots and even Long Haul with the exact same symptoms is that their immune system genetically has issues where there's a nervous system called the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system nerves okay and because of these underlying wound um wounds in the immune system they're really there is certain parts of their nervous system that's under attack over the years so it doesn't balance each other well so fight ORF flight and your calm and rest um doesn't balance each other well like they should like here right now in somebody like Hy or in some Long Haul their sympathetic is firing like crazy that's the root problem every body so what do you do give drugs to lower the blood pressure and the heart rate and the sympathetic nervous system and drop blood pressure that doesn't work what you have to do is actually raise the parasympathetic tone this is where melt method actually comes in well I totally every single pots patient we turn around they are doing melt because there are physical modalities that are way more effective at raising the parasympathetic tone and vagel tone than any drug on the planet known to Mar that's right she she's nailing it I mean Dr Maggie's got it you know and again she she works with so many thousands of people who have these types of disorders and it's the same here I'm always talking about this seesaw that the stress and repair processes are on and the natural tendency is at night when we sleep that sympathetic tone should come down and the parasympathetic should come back up again only when you are in a constant state all day you actually have a high stress high demand lifestyle it really impacts and your nervous system starts thinking this is the balanced place and so now again one more diagnosis and you just tip over the scale but that parasympathetic to sympathetic then we've got this enteric nervous system this gut regulating system which is This brilliant aspect of the human body they call it a second brain I dare I say it's our first one that that's where our the seat of intuition is all of our digestive processes are so if the sympathetic to parasympathetic are always out of balance now your microbiomes are breaking down your own gut isn't functioning well now you're getting other types of fatigue symptoms because you've just got a backlog of stuck stress living in your body so listen you guys who are listening to Dr Maggie Dr Maggie when what time is your session tonight that you're talking about tonight I am live um everywhere um but particularly on YouTube if you go to Maggie UMD you can actually get notified when I go live tonight's live I am going to be at 3:30 Pacific Standard time and I'm talking about is Long Haul pots fake but I am also going to tell you that next um Thursday I'm actually going to be hosting a whole Workshop around this whole issue with long haul covid pots um disoma and really breaking this down on why it's so hard to diagnose why you know why there is considered no treatment for this and really what's the way out of it because this is a solvable problem and that's the point people don't even know it's solvable I look at 29-year-old Hy with all the means in the world grateful she's getting a diagnosis but at the same time and some of the the symptoms are improving in remission but the thing is is that these can be permanent result permanently resolved not just like exactly in remission right meaning that if something's in remission means it can come back but if you this is the thing that I love about Maggie is that she she's able to give you strategies and actual actionable steps to improve your immune functions your immune system yes can be improved right it can be fixed fixed I think it's beautiful so and Maggie and I are connecting in July in about a month and a half from now we are going to be in Red Mountain Resort together uh there's just maybe I think there's five rooms left and we're going to go into this kind of conversation about talking about you know these incorporating things like melt rehydrating FAS quieting the stress reflex in the nervous system boosting the actual parasympathetic State and then thinking about blood sugar balance hormone balance everybody hormones I didn't even touch hormones today and that's huge okay in everything we just talked about um that's my big area Big Love hormone is literally the triggering and the lever that we're talking about yeah I see my friend Laura Halper or Laura stavely sorry I don't know it's so funny we she once upon a time when we were young children she was a Laura Helper but Laura stav is going to be there also nutritionist you know also dealing with pots and all of these other disorders I think that she also I can't remember what was the other one I think she has um I can't think of it but but I know she'll she'll tell me what she has down here I can't remember Laura tell me so I can tell you that I can show you how I eat that for breakfast and then show me what lunch and dinner is so so for those of you guys who Hashimoto thank you thank you thank you Hashimoto and yeah and this is something that Maggie you also dealt with for a long while so I hope what you're hearing is that we love Hy Hy if you're watching this we love you we love your music we want you to be healthy and well find Dr Maggie learn a little bit more about some ways to actually combat all of this erase some of this disorder and get your body's natural healing mechanisms back on track using some very simple tools Maggie's got all of these things I'm going to make sure that I put uh Dr Maggie's YouTube channel into the post so that you guys can check her out there we also have a melt Method YouTube uh page you know go ahead and subscribe there as well but hopefully you guys can all come and join us if you're interested in really kind of getting putting the paddles on and clear getting yourself Baseline set will be out in Red Mountain Resort July 26th to the 29th together uh so I hope that maybe some of you guys will find out about that hey by the way not to end on that note but to totally end on that note everybody there's a session coming up in Red Mountain and it's called SOS for the situation situation down and I think that for men and for women but really understanding like all of these hormone fluctuations that happens and all of these things that people start to complain about when they their 40s their 50s and Beyond again I think we just we're very symptom based and I always say why wait for problems to get out if you understand more about how the body functions you actually understand how your nervous system and your immune system and your connective tissue called fascia work together to support protect and stabilize you you actually become very educated in things that most people don't know anything about and that's what we're sitting here preaching and we want to get these messages out so if anybody listening knows Hy make sure that you share this post with her and until we see you guys again as I always say Maggie thank you so so much of course for being a part of our community sending huge love and those of you sip water frequently eat waterfill foods and as long as we've got your attention call somebody that you love for me today and put some of your positivity out into the world share this post with people that you know who are suffering and let's all learn how to live a more active healthy painfree life thanks again for being part of the community thanks Dr Maggie for coming on live thanks for inviting me on thanks bye bye guys
