NOW TO THE TALK AROUND METRO DETROIT TONIGHT, YOU MAY HAVE SEEN THE VIDEO OF GREEN DAY BEING RUSHED OFF STAGE AT COMERICA PARK LAST NIGHT. >> AFTER ONLY A FEW SONGS INTO THEIR SET, WELL, THE PAUSE WAS ALL DUE TO AN ILLEGAL DRONE FLYING OVER COMERICA PARK. THE MAN PILOTING IT WAS DETAINED AND WE LEARNED TODAY THE FAA IS NOW INVESTIGATING THE INCIDENT. 7 NEWS DETROIT REPORTER DARREN CUNNINGHAM TALKED WITH PEOPLE WHO WERE AT THE CONCERT AND A DRONE INSTRUCTOR ABOUT RULES FOR FLYING. >> AS COMERICA PARK CREWS CONTINUE TO BREAK DOWN AND PACKED UP FROM LAST NIGHT'S GREEN DAY CONCERT CONCERT-GOERS I SPOKE WITH SAY IT WAS MEMORABLE IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE. OR ANYTHING WENT OFF STAGE. I LOOKED UP AND I WAS LIKE, I DON'T DRONES ALLOWED TO BE UP HERE AND THEN 2 SECONDS LATER, THEY GOT RUSHED OFF STAGE. FOR THIS FOOTAGE OF A MYSTERIOUS DRONE THAT DISRUPTED THE GREEN DAY CONCERT AT COMERICA PARK LAST NIGHT. >> ABOUT 20 MINUTES INTO THE PERFORMANCE MEAN I'M A QUIET ANOTHER GREEN DAY FAN SPOTTED THE DRONE FROM THE PIT. ALL OF A SUDDEN WE'RE ALL JUST STANDING THERE AND WE SEE ONE OF THE SECURITY GUYS FROM BACKSTAGE. >> RIGHT NOW. >> OFFSTAGE PLACING THE SHOW ON HOLD. THE DRONE WAS ACTUALLY IN THE AIR FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. >> IT WAS LIKE ZOOMING IN TO DO ANYTHING. IT JUST LOOKED LIKE IT WAS WHOEVER WAS PILOTING WAS PRIME PROBABLY TRYING WATCH THE SHOW FOR IT. >> IT WAS QUITE SCARY BECAUSE WE DIDN'T KNOW WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. >> AND, YOU KNOW, BEING? IN THIS DAY AND AGE WITH ALL THESE SCARY THINGS HAPPENING. IT'S LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING DURING THE DELAY. DETROIT POLICE SAID THEY DETAINED THE DRONE OPERATOR OUTSIDE OF THE STADIUM AND THE COUNCIL RESUMED AS NORMAL AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES THIS AFTERNOON, DPD TOLD ME AND HANDED THE INVESTIGATION OVER TO THE FAA. THIS HAPPENS BALL GAMES. A LOT OF BASEBALL GAMES AND FOOTBALL GAMES. I SPOKE WITH GREG RIVER DEO, THE CO-FOUNDER OF TYLER INSTITUTE WHO HAPPENS TO BE AT A DRONE CONFERENCE IN ARIZONA AT THE MOMENT. HE SAYS, WELL, THERE IS A LEGITIMATE WAY TO GO ABOUT FLYING A DRONE WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT AND PROPER AUTHORIZATION. TYPICALLY THERE'S A TEMPORARY FLIGHT RESTRICTION IN PLACE OR TFR. >> BASICALLY IT'S A NO FLY ZONE FOR ANYONE WHO WAS UNAUTHORIZED AND IT'S IMPOSED BY THE FAA FOR SAFETY PURPOSES. THE PRESIDENT IS STRUGGLING, FOR EXAMPLE, THERE'S OVER THE TFR IN PLACE WHEN THE PRESIDENT TRAVELS TO YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO FLY AIRCRAFT OR DRONE IN THE AIR SPACE. >> CONCERTS HAVE THEM BUT NOT ALL OF THEM. I REACHED OUT TO THE FAA WHICH CAUGHT THE INCIDENT POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS AND SAID, QUOTE, DRONE OPERATORS WHO ENDANGER OTHER AIRCRAFT OR PEOPLE ON THE GROUND CAN FACE FINES THAT EXCEED $30,000. IN ADDITION, THE FAA CAN SUSPEND OR REVOKE DRONE OPERATORS, PILOT
