Jalen Hurts Struggles, Jordan Love Injury, Saquon Barkley's Monster Game

folks we are back once again the house call boys are here sibi we miss you girl but TJ we got to dive into some Friday Night Football I have been watching some fights and football little multitask you have been breaking this game down and we just got the final between the Eagles and Packers in Brazilia give me TJ's first thoughts man man it was a great game I didn't know it was a great game or a bad game but it was a little bit of both throughout both quarterbacks showed up both defenses got beat up a little bit but you know the Eagles came and you know stayed a little firm towards the end of the game but you know overall it was entertaining it was entertaining to go all the way to Brazil play in that environment you know put on the show for the NFL fans it was a good game but um the eagles they pulled it out they pulled it out my prediction was wrong I had Green Bay I did kind of hit with you know Green Bay scoring 28 points but uh the high was high the highs were high and the lows were low 3429 the Eagles TI it and you know I I was watching this and thinking man th this is a a week one game and it was in every sense a week one game A little sloppy right from both teams I mean the the Eagles start out behind the eight ball six nothing because we have two turnovers in our own end to start the the season off Jaylen Herz I'm just gonna say it doing Jaylen hurts things TJ turning the ball over in his own end in his own end again and then coming right back and then we have the fumble what's going on with the missc and Philly to start the year you know it's a early game and that's exactly what I expected from the Eagles that is exactly what I expected and that's why I had them losing the game but they found a way to win it at the game and Green Bay they didn't take advantage of those situations man you have to score touchdowns in this league to win football games and they were given the opportunity to do that and they just came out with three points every time on top of a Miss field goal just like last night um special teams you know can change the game and it obviously did in both games it felt like like you said just a a lack of taking advantage of opportunities we talked about this with with Lamar Jackson and I think we got to keep it 100 across the board with these highlevel quarterbacks I think you and I both came into this season going you know what Jordan love potential MVP candidate potential uh you know Super Bowl Contender and again it's just week one these things are going to happen we're in Brazil for Christ's sake so maybe not everyone's on their aame but those moments make or break you as a high level quarterback we say it about Lamar all the time you better take advantage when you're given opportunities especially against the Chiefs same thing here the Eagles not too far moved from a Super Bowl you get two possessions damn near in the red zone and you get two field goals out of it that can't happen TJ no n if you want to be putting that upper EST Lina quarterbacks that they are ready to put Jordan love in it's like they're ready to put him in there you have to make those um game or drive ending touchdowns you have to make those Drive ending touchdowns and capitalize on what the defense has done right it's just confid know that for us to give you the ball in that position and not get touchdowns man so um like you said if he wants to be in that caliber of quarterbacks he has to do just that and I listen I think Jordan love has every ability to do it I thought honestly he played better of the two quarterbacks that that were in the game tonight because on the other side of things while yes the Eagles do pick up the win it was a sloppy one Jaylen Herz I didn't see much else different than I saw last year with him I saw the ability to throw the ball down the football he had the the right hand side down the sideline ball to AJ Brown and by the way AJ Brown still AJ Brown five catches on the night 119 and a tutty pulling away by the way from Jer Alexander Ander was in the media saying I want more targets somebody throw at me please and they did and AJ's like cool I'm going to go to the house I'm going to have a house call on you son I I was impressed by AJ brown but what are your thoughts on on Jaylen Herz man again up and down game I feel like we just got used to you say you say now right you say that um you think Jord he looked amazing right I will say that he um look at TJ getting a house call right now look at that I forgot to turn that yeah house call too late um but yeah you mentioned that okay dude what is this guy talking you mentioned you mentioned that Jordan love played better than Herz and I don't think he played better than Herz I think he looked better explain now stay with me yeah stay with me now I think that he looked better during the game right he has some big plays he has some get out of the pockets find some guys downfield he had some step up in the pockets um you know look like I'm about to run and break and then throw it downfield you know it looked good man I'm not going to lie it looked pretty but when the Eagles needed it it looked ugly but Herz got it done this so whole second half the first half he looked it hurt watching bars you know the first half it hurt watching the second half you know he was hurts and he showed what got the Eagles to the Super Bowl and them being NFC championships we got to remember Jordan love is still trying to do what Herz has already done true true and and here's the thing when I say I thought he played better right and I will agree with you that he looked better because of you know the stat line whatever um and like you said Jaden Reed he steps up looks like Jordan Love's going to run boom dot over the middle and by the way Jaden Reed about him as well I'm talking about this not only only do we see him Xavier worthy night one and then jayen Reed comes back and says oh hold my beer I'm going to double up what you did in the receiving yards and take a rushing tutty on the same kind of play to the crib what are we doing here with these these receivers crazy but I'll say this it just when I watch Jaylen Herz it it just it irks me to see some of the throws he makes that are ill advised and it just doesn't make any sense to throw like for example you talked about the first half being a little clunky sure he has the interception in own end I don't know what possessed him to throw that football third and long and he just launches it into it looked like quadruple coverage then we have the Lost fumble okay now I'll say this the person that kept them in the game and kept the the the Eagles on task was saquan Barkley how about him returning to form uh 24 carries 109 yards two touchdowns on the ground one in the air beautiful ball from Jaylen Herz to to regain some momentum as that second quarter started but again it was the to me it was a bit of we are you are who we thought you were because in that second half when the game is close the Eagles made enough plays sure but they're up 31-26 have a chance to kick a field goal to go up 3426 that's an eight-point game and here goes Herz rolling right throwing left into the End Zone it advised another interception I don't know maybe it's just me I'm just looking at this guy going why big time quarterbacks don't make those mistakes I know there's a difference to me and trying to make a play and trying to do too much that's what I see sometimes at of Jaylen Herz in big moments yeah I don't never advise throwing the ball um to the other side of the field running one way but he had AJ Brown down there so let's let's let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was going to let adj Brown make a play yeah ill advis absolutely I totally agree but you got AJ Brown there you know you say it's a Touchback at worst you know it's like a punt throw it up you're you're close to field goal range you're right there you can get points it didn't end up mattering I mean I don't think I don't think they were in make 13 well depending I don't think there were if there were something if there was something in between that made me say oh let me check it down or throw it away that was a guaranteed field goal maybe he would have done that but you know hey it was a bad play regardless bad yeah yeah we already talked about saquon we can go further on squin I thought he had a great game 24 carries 109 yards and at moments TJ look like the sequin of of 2020 look like that Giants drafted out of Penn State explosive running back and I think that we're finally getting to see him with hopefully enough balance in the offense to open up some running Lanes he looked great yeah they look he looked amazing he looked like you know your ex has done better you know like your ex leaves you and has done better dang it oh man it's like from experience attributes are being put on full display yeah you now he's catching Fades he's running through people like he's jumping spinning you know he's looking like saquin and they're actually utilizing him you know to his maximum man and and it's a beautiful thing to see and I can't wait to see more of it this season and the NFC East is in trouble because Herz and sequin teamed up that's a lethal weap lethal weapon man I'm telling you like that combo is going to be deadly all year Rigs and myto Lethal Weapon It's going to be bad if Jaylen her can take care of the football I I 1,000% agree with you again it's week one yeah I'm being a little critical because we did the same thing last night and funny enough this game worked out a lot of the same Ways last night's game did we talk about you know Patrick Mahomes not playing a great game for the Chiefs but finding a way to win same thing here with Jaylen Herz who like you said has been to the top of the mountain and played in a Super Bowl right so this is a guy that knows how to win ugly games and that's something unfortunately Jordan love is still trying to figure out and you know I I was looking at some of the stuff we were talking in the group chat um as the game was going on you you weren't a big fan of Josh Jacobs to begin the game and the hoopla that's been made around his move to Green Bay he didn't necessarily start the game well but I I thought he finished the game well had some break open runs uh toward the end of the game I thought he came into his own but maybe he wanted to see a little more there yeah I'm glad you touched that because that's where I was going next yeah I think the game got away from Green Bay as they got away from the run and the game came back to Philly as Herz and sequin started to you know wear that Green Bay defense down some long drives there too from Phil they started to wear him down and that's when Herz is more most efficient he's like a full quarterback he's like a quarterback quarterback right he's a fullback quarterback he's not a quarterback he's a fullback whatever anyway he's like he gets stronger as the game goes on those those yards where you have a quarterback usually hit two and three yards behind the sticks he's getting those first downs mhm it's like TBO point2 2.0 you mean but yes he is he is t-o 2.0 but but when you look at this game too I think that that what we had stressed and again I I I love drawing this parallel because it's so great because of what's happened in in Baltimore too we talked about it last night we were sitting here ramming our head against the wall going why won't the Ravens run the football with that monster in the back field Derrick Henry and you saw the Eagles when things went bad and in some cases you know Jaylen Herz turn the ball over fumbling you get back to what you're known for run the football they did and things worked out very very well saquan said put the team on my back bro I got you this is what football's simple when you make it simple TJ yeah and you know who else came in clutch today who's that was there every time you needed him Devonte Smith hey seven for 84 12 yards a catch baby that's efficiency right there that you didn't even you didn't even see what he can actually bring in a downfield threat a very quiet efficient like you said game from Devonte Smith and again that type of Weaponry with these Eagles again I'm being a little harsh on Jaylen herdz but you got Cadillacs in the back and Dodge Rams in the front and then on the wings you got Ferraris man there's there's so many weapons for this offense so you just have to think again it's week one they're going to get better and like you said the NFC little trouble out there because this is a loaded offense especially so I want to see if that's a bad game they put up 34 what's a good game look like man the NFC has just become deep very deep I mean they've been deep but we kind of roll some teams off a little bit I think Philly kind of just by the year they had last year was like uh even me I'll take part blame in that I mean I think everybody it's not even a blame thing I think you just see what's in front of you and you go good Lord what is going on in that organization you know like you got this great start and then you fall off a cliff questions have to be asked so to start this way even though it was ugly you still get a win and again a completely foreign environment so that's a good thing let's talk about the big question mark at the end of this game because we spoken about the performance from Herz and uh Jordan loves performance on the offensive side but then you have the injury all right so DJ we're we're now actually looking at this this injury from Jordan love and and while we first thought it was an ankle that looks like listen I'm no I'm no doctor but that looks at least like one of the ligaments in his knee popping out man that I don't know if that's MCL I don't I think the inside is the MCL so I would assume that's what that is that looks like a full-on tear of of some ligament in the knee that TJ is what we call bad bad news man well they just got Willis he's a first round quarterback so but he's not Jordan love but I don't I don't I still see that in I think he may have just loose knees no TJ his knee went one way and the rest of his leg went the other there buddy I I mean I'm like I said we're not doctors I'm Optimist let's just wait on the diagnosis man that doesn't look I'm optimistic let's wait on the diagnosis and see if it's just no do you think it's dislocated does that look like it dislocated me I got uh Jesse Morris MD I'll send this to you Mato uh doctor on Twitter left leg injury I reviewed the video multiple times and there are a couple of different possible injuries it's not super clear at the moment most concerning ACL tear this supported by a pivot shift where the knee appears to shift slightly then Buckle usually this happens when the acl's torn the MCL is also here finally his left ankle is vulnerable to a high ankle sprain so any of those explanations you hope just the ankle sprain but usually you don't sprain your ankle and your knee flies out of place so I'm like I said it doesn't look good uh like you said we'll wait for an official diagnosis but regardless to lose a quarterback that moment of that game and it is just week one we got a full Hall season ahead of us this is going to be interesting to see Packers in trouble man yeah trouble trouble and I was gonna I was going to go with you and say you know hey this is a B minus performance for for the Eagles I was even going to go maybe a C+ just because you know out yeah yeah I think we're both there but again we don't want to be too harsh because it is week one who knows what we're going to get on Sunday there's going to be probably so many sloppy performances but oh and on top of that well we'll get to that when we talk about Green Bay go ahead well that's what let's go right into it Green Bay you would give them you know around that C+ maybe C because you can't take advantage of 20 30 yards in the first half but then you lose your quarterback and that's not necessarily a performance perance thing but you have to add it in that's massive this Green Bay team I mean you're you're taking in the rest of the year I'm going to go C maybe C minus maybe D+ because the Outlook is looking real bad I'm I'm right there with you CC minus first off it was a lot of um undisciplined football from them yeah early in the game it was like she you guys are shooting yourself in the foot and it was very um uncharacteristic of the Packers yeah you know you usually don't think of undisciplined and all over the place when you think of the Green Bay Packers no matter who their coach is they're pretty you know they fly pretty straight when it comes to being a disciplined football team but tonight it was very ugly um protecting their quarterback now we see late in the game that drops him definitely so I'm with you about CC minus C no no not even a c C minus D+ yeah listen we have got a lot of NFL still to play not too much overreaction week one maybe a little bit on my part I maybe being a little too hard on on Jaylen Herz but I just want to see him go to that next level but that's what the rest of the season is for Sunday got a ton of games on the way but as we wrap up this one I think the the number one word we can use sloppy the number two use potential right there's some things that can improve we'll see if that happens uh comment section let us know down below what you took away
