let's go line so let's get to it got the good mornings out of the way couple things I wanted to get to today um they had some nice things Dan Campbell spoke to the media today and uh he talked a little bit about the the DJ reader situation right there this was his first true week of practice he ends up being questionable so he is in the full practice right there we want um and so what do you think about that we got we we'll open up the the topics with that we're GNA talk a little bit about the Kelly Stafford thing and uh we're gonna talk a little bit about our very first depth chart we're going to go through that but I wanted to open up right here with a little bit of the DJ reader stuff because you know I feel like we've hit this topic at nauseum and talked about it like you know we don't know when he's going to be here we're hoping he's going to be here you know you you got a discount on him but the Brad Holmes always gets injured players right we've had that discussion in here before um but I've been on here before saying that just because they're injured doesn't mean that they're going to be injured so he's recovering from the Quad injury went through the rehab the rehab is now over now they're trying to get him back into football shape with this and we're going to see he might play a couple snaps this week or they may hold him out but it looks like it's sooner rather than later because Danny Rogers comes in says dan Campbell says there's a chance that the defensive line DJ reader plays on Sunday this was the first true week of football inats and practicing in the defensive team drills he's day to day that is fantastic news that is awesome awesome news right there that DJ reader even if he doesn't play this week that shows you that he's a lot closer than what people thought he was going to be they actually had came out and said that they didn't really expect him and their whole plan was to have him by week two you know at the Tampa Bay game which Mike and I are going too so DJ reader even having the chance of being bable he's officially questionable for this week and I and Dan Campbell spoke this morning and said that he is going to uh probably have a better look at that what that decision is going to be for this week uh tomorrow when he speaks to the media so what do you think about that DJ reader possible it's possible he's going to be ready for week number one how big is that how big is that let's go into the comments and see what we got here uh good morning from Elise Elise the queen of memes she's out there she's crushing it she is crushing it in the meme game out there you got to check out Elise memes meme game because some of that stuff is fantastic I am telling you you need to look on there you need to go give her a follow but uh good morning Russell love the Apple Beast commercial Go Lions Fred Peterson says commercial was good if only Harbaugh was here to do the commercial don't let him steal our science that's what it well it turns out that um when Dan Campbell made that commercial you know he sent a couple guys over and he actually did steal those sign I think Harbaugh's running his own commercial out in LA right now because he successfully stole those signs too uh just heard that it uh ify has a bruised Achilles yeah he probably he's looking like he won't be playing in week one uh it looks like reader's actually more of a probable than um than iy malavan would be uh reader has rehabed this before he may know the best yes and that gave him an advantage there's two things about the DJ reader injury that I don't know if everybody understands you know he tore a quad in 2020 and then rehab came back went to Cincinnati they went to the Super Bowl that year we we know that and then he tore his quad and a lot of people think that he tore his quad again no it wasn't the same quad that he tore DJ reer tore the opposite quad W which to me is significant because he didn't have the same injury it wasn't the same injury he didn't reinjure a quad he tore his other quad and now because he had the experience uh I love that comment because he has rehabbed the injury before like Joseph said and so that means that he knows you know the the limits you know he knows where he can push it maybe where he didn't before you know he went through the process of it already and you know and it's not like he's coming back early if he comes back here I mean this is right around the time when you're talking about rehabing an injury this is right on the timeline that you would recover from this like eight you know 8 to 12 months or whatever that is so even if you're on the the good side of that it's not early it's not like they're bringing him back early when it comes to this so I love this I love this the impact that DJ reader can have on this defense can't be under stated because you have to understand last year it was just alen mcneel in there and you're talking about a hodg podge of like Bonito Jones and Quinton bohana and uh Isaiah bugs was there for a cup of coffee and and it's like those guys you know they're NFL players right you know they can make it onto a practice squad they're NFL players sometimes they could you know fill that Gap and not embarrass you right there but they're not plus players the upgrade that DJ reer is over either one of those guys sitting them next to mcneel is I I I don't even know I mean Lee mcneel said he he pictured destruction in the middle because I have no idea what that would look like I mean even to have a good player next to him you know Kyle Petco is better than any one of those three guys those other three guys are replacement level players like you know they they're not on an NFL roster they might be on a practice squad somewhere Quinton bana Bonito Jones Isaiah bugs out of the league you know maybe by his own doing but these guys aren't great players nothing nothing against Isaiah bugs I like what Isaiah bugs did here he filled the need you know the need when you're going from a bunch of undrafted free agents in 2021 and you're trying to upgrade the rock roster you know some of those guys just kind of get squeezed out you know and then the emergence of Levi on R uh providing the depth so um I wanted to get into that part a little bit because the Lions did release their first uh unofficial depth chart you know uh let me see what this is right here here here's uh here's the offense right here so let's get into this so here is part of the unofficial depth chart right here and you're looking at Aman ra St Brown and Jameson Williams as the one and two receivers no surprise there khif Raymond coming in at number three and actually you know what I'm not going to get into that yet I'm not going to get into that yet because there's something else that I I wanted to get to which was the 52 men on the roster there's still only 52 people on the roster and I think that it go with this first slide that I have right here which is which is RA and I realize I'm not I gotta go get get the other one but Jameson Williams and Aman R st Brown they have khif Raymond listed as the number three and Isaiah Williams is the backup right but there's no backup to the other wide receiver on here and I do believe that that that is why there's only 52 people on the roster because they have Donovan peoples Jones they have Allen Robinson and they have Tim Patrick on the practice squad right now and right now it's kind of like a little mini competition you know they just they just got Tim Patrick they want that big X wide receiver and they had Allan Robinson is is 6'2 and you know Tim Patrick is 6'4 and Donovan peop Jones is also 6 foot2 so these are that the type of body that they want with that X receiver so they're practicing this week and I do believe that they will Elevate one of those three players I mean I I'm hoping that it's going to be Tim Patrick I'm I'm curious to see if he can get back to form because if that guy can be you know what he was and fully recover from this injury I mean this guy was a a definite plus player a guy that could go up jump and get contested balls score touchdowns stretch the field as that big body receiver I I I hope that it's Tim Patrick um Allen Robinson really helps the room all around I think but I don't know if he's going to jump right in there and do some things but who knows who knows this off offense is very friendly to people that just you know go to the right place at the right time so that's what I believe with that 52 man roster thing what do you think about that what do you think about that 52 man roster who do you think that that other roster spot is for right there um limited snaps perhaps I think that we're talking about Rita right there Paul Jones saying good morning to everyone uh Big M says what up do Russell villain crew four days in counting so pumped and ready for the season Detroit fan man's in the house so readers availability is why Petco hasn't made the 53 yet sure did I miss that headline um readers availability I I mean that could be the 52 man person right there but if reer is on the roster I believe they'll use that other roster spot for one of those other three wide receivers but maybe not Maybe not maybe it is Kyle PCO if if they do sit re reader down for this week that's a great call right there I love that call Detroit Fan Man DC Dan Campbell Levi playing for a contract isn't he uh he is going to ball out for that contract that's an interesting take right there because you know the the jury was out on one Levi on r and Levi owns arque I mean we we did a nice little bit on him yesterday in here talking about his journey and what what he's went through I mean we thought that his career was over Levi anzar is fully recovers can we trust it I do believe we can because the question of his back was in question in the last camp and in limited snaps he played at a 70 PFF score last year with about 121 snaps and he took the offseason serious so there's no reason to think that at least bodywise Levi is fully healthy and maybe he can become what they drafted him in the second round in 2021 to be so I love that call right there uh uh that unofficial second team defense kind of looks like it could take a couple of our former starting rosters I like that I like that I think that Tim Patrick comes to the 53 our practice squad could beat the Panthers starters uh uh best week best week wins the roster nod yeah I think so good morning villains and lion family Super Bowl here we come and Dale what up Dale Dale's in the house as well good morning right there so let's get into this depth chart a little bit right here so we got take the now that we hit that 52 man roster thing you guys can feel free to throw your comments in on that but as we move through here but check out this depth chart right here Jameson Williams I'm on Ros St Brown and khif Raymond and we the consensus in the comments right here is that kind of agree with me that we might get see Tim Patrick be brought up or like Detroit fan man said Kyle Pekka we'll get to the defensive side here in a minute you got no surprises across the offensive line you know Taylor Decker Graham Glascow Frank ragnell Uh Kevin zeitler and pan Su and then at tight end obviously you got Sam leapor and then uh they have David Montgomery listed as the starting running back which I think that's kind of a veteran nod at this point but that's okay but that's okay because we already know that jir Gibbs is going to have a huge impact on the offense this year so as backups right there backing up on on Ross Brown in a slot no surprise right there Isaiah Williams with his super camp in there and then swing tackle Dan Skipper they have backing up Taylor Decker and they actually have if you look down at the other side Kobe sores doll check out Kobe sores doll winning the backup job for left uh right tackle uh Michael ni is the backup and in Center KO kot aasa as the swing guard in there and he'll back up Graham Glascow or Kevin zeitler he can play either side right there and Graham Glascow can also flip around if he needed to as well so we have very versatile offensive lineman I I love where we're at as far as offensive line depth and and it isn't necessarily the person as much as it is the coaching I mean Hank Frey let's let's be honest here that is pretty much the the the best one if not one the best um Swing Swing I lost my train of thought right there I lost my I dang I lost one of my things dang it I'm sorry guys I'm gonna have to go in and download my defensive right there defensive stuff right there but I love our depth I love Hank fry is one of the best um offensive line coaches in the entire NFL I mean I don't think anybody would deny that and and I think that that's the reason why you can uh count on him when it comes to that uh I gotta find I gotta find this right here I gotta get this in you know what I'll probably just give you guys the the whole deal right there uh no not that one I need this one right there ah right there so what do you think of that offensive lineup right there I mean now that the 60 man is out you know now that it's you know the or the the 90 man roster is no longer in there and you really get to see what the depth really looks like because you only get to keep 53 so what do you think of that offensive lineup right there put it in the comments let me know while I'm like designing at the same time right here is I'm going to download this deal and show you the defense in here I hate it when that happens but we'll make it work we're gonna make it work right there uh we can look at the special teams right here special teams obviously they kept Jake Bates I don't know what you think of that deal right there keeping Jake Bates and no other kickers right there but that dude has got a boot that is a weapon right there and obviously Jack Fox he's one of the best punters special teamers and then the Long Snapper Hogan Hatton that's right brother Hogan's gonna be snapping the ball dude and what's you gonna do when the largest arms in the world snap the ball to the punter on you that's right that's right brother yeah that one was free that one's free I I'll give that one to you but there you go there's the special team no surprises right there I think that we have one of the best special teams in the National Football League right there David fit is a badass of a special teams coordinator I'm I'm excited to see what he does as far as like this new kickoff rule I think that he he's going to end up being pretty creative when it comes with something like that but as we get to the defensive side of the ball everybody wants to know what the defense is it seems like the offense is you know it's not there's not very much changed on the offense when you really look at it you know you're looking at it it I mean Jameson Williams comes in for Josh Reynolds I mean you you're bringing in a faster version of him and then Kevin zeitler over Jonah Jackson and and you know Jonah Jackson's okay he was he was a good guard and he got he got paid over there but I think zeitler is a an upgrade there especially if he's available and that was a big part of Jonah Jackson's problem right there is we saw too much kote at Wasa last year and too much of our rookies having to come in and play guard when they're actually tackles Kobe SLL so I'm glad to see it but on defense let's look at this defensive tackles Al mcon DJ reader listed in the very first depth chart the what does that mean oh I think that uh DJ reer is gonna play this week I really do I think that he's gonna play uh and then you got Aiden Hutchinson on one side they got Marcus Davenport as the other Edge starting and no reason not to think it I mean Marcus Davenport is a talented player it's never been a question of his talent it's always been a question of his availability when it comes with him uh linebackers they have three so they're they're listing our team like a 43 defense we got Alex angelone Jack Campbell and Derek Barnes as uh one two and three you got uh left cornerback Carlson Davis and then Rook iie cornerback terion Arnold gets a start at the other side Brian Branch lifted listed as a safety yes somebody called that I don't know Mike Main Event Mike where you at okay and then Kirby Joseph is listed as the other safety now I don't know if I believe in this Z chart from a point of we very very seldom did we have three linebackers out there any time last year you know our team I swear in a base defense in the base defense Ghost Riders sweetest fish today um in the base defense I think is more of a nickel type of dude like we're running with two linebackers and then we would get that third cornerback in there and and I believe that that's what it's going to be because you're looking at um a Meek Robertson right there he's backing up the the second quarterback I really believe that instead of seeing Derek Barnes you're gonna see uh aiek Robertson or um Andis rraw in that slot covering that slot so what do you think about that I think that we we we run more out of a nickel W with three DBS rather than three line backers but I don't mind putting D Derek Barnes on there I mean maybe they will run some more linebacker sets now that they've improved the defensive line so much right there but those are really really good questions right there and then backing up they got Josh Pascal listed as end that was something that Michael and I debated on Monday which is you know where's Josh Pas are they considering him a defensive end or are they going to move him inside and and it looks like they're going to make him uh the end and that's what they drafted him to be you know he may not be the exciting end like Aiden Hutchinson but he is good at setting the edge I do believe that he will take a step forward in his third year just like Aiden Hutchinson so I like that call right there um Makai Wingo backing up uh alen mcneel coming in and Levi enzer and I really believe that you know you got those two starting alen mcneel and DJ reader but they're going to use all of these defensive linemen guys they're going to use them all they're going to rotate them in they're GNA play matchups when it comes with a lot of this stuff I mean James Houston's not going to be out there on every down but there may be some tackles that are out there that have a trouble you know blocking the speed rush and that's who you would attack and there maybe you know guys that would have trouble attacking the bull rush and that would be somebody that you you know you'd stick Levi on or you'd stick Makai wngo on so they're gonna be playing matchups when it comes to that right there uh backing up the linebackers Ben Neiman Trevor noski uh Jaylen reev ma reev Maan um core special teamer he's more of a special teamer guy if all these other guys get injured you know he can play in in spells and then Malcolm Rodriguez seeing all those faces in there I mean think about how far the linebacker core has came over the last three years I mean Malcolm Rodriguez was a six round pick and he started you know every game in in his rookie year and now he's it's not that he's a bad player he's been in the system for three years but you know we we've brought so much talent in here right there that you you know you're just looking really really good at that that linebacker spot and then uh you know Andis Rik straw backing up Carlton Davis a Meek Robertson backing up Terry AR and then they they still have C dorsy and Kendall buildor on the team and look at that room that's the I mean the upgrades in the secondary it can't be understated you know know you know you if if it's if it's me being a homer it would be like getting one upgrade and like putting all my hope in Carlton Davis right and that was the only guy that we brought in they stacked cornerbacks in this room to where Kendall vildor was the starting cornerback in the NFC Championship Game and on this depth chart I mean he's at the back end of of this he's the last person on the list you know when you're the second cornerback that's back backing up the second quarterback spot Kendall beldor was the first man off this roster that means that khil dorsy Ami Robertson Andis Rik straw terion Arnold and Carlton Davis are all better or at least from the coaches standpoint the ones that pick what order they're going to be in he got pushed all the way down that from the starting cornerback pushed all the way down the depth chart he was probably cornerback too you know I know Cameron Sutton was starting and not that that was any better but I like that I like that first depth chart right there I don't think it's going to change much besides that what do you think of that depth chart loving it loving it um oh there's Sarah hi Sarah it's good to see the vi Queen in here and I know that you're still mourning over JJ McCarthy I'm sorry that the season you know at the beginning of the Season it seems like it's getting derailed for you right off the bat and I hate seeing that due to injury but there're still some reasons to be hopeful as a viking fan I I don't think that it's that far back look at all these great comments in here Tim Patrick and Allen Robinson having wheelchair races right wheelchair R Tim Patrick is 30 years old my God and we're talking about the practice squad right you guys are you you the Rival fans are funny I love you guys that running back room will be very good all I'm surprised that more teams didn't poach Hank um I don't know I mean I don't know how many of the other guys we got to maintain most of our guys I like that and the thing is is like that's what what I mean when you look at our depth chart on offense right there yeah and I'll stay on that you know when I'm looking at that depth chart on there it's like none of those guys stand out as like super guys on the offensive line but I do think that that has to do more with Hank fry you know those guys are more valuable to our team because Hank fry is such a good coach I think that he could bring in people from the outside and plug them in to those holes I mean barring an injury of pan Su I mean pan gives you a huge advantage just starting off he can cover up some backups because he's so good you know those so some of those Main Stays on the offense the Frank ragn Nows and like those are guys that you can't just like replace right away um let's see Sarah welcome back good morning everyone sorry I've been in morning yeah yeah uh good morning to Sarah okay I found my spot again DJ might get a few snaps Sunday but more likely against Tampa yeah but what the good thing about it is you know that they're not going to rush him to get in because they don't you know obviously he's a plus player when he's going to be in there but there's a plan to move forward with without him and the cool thing is it it really looks as if we're going to see him sooner rather than later uh the rotation is key to helping the injury guys uh getting healthy yes Wingo is a superstar in the making very soon that's a that's a bold statement for a six round pick but it wouldn't be the first time that Brad hit on a f six round pick the defense has massive changes and I think that we're GNA have in uh there'll be improvements on a serious but on a serious note my brother passed away three years ago I'm on on my way over to his house to go see if there's anything uh I want before my sister-in-law throws everything away I know how you feel with that and I am sorry that you're going through that Sarah I apologize I don't know if you wanted me to throw that comment up there like that um I I wouldn't be surprised um gosh I'm sorry thoughts and prayers go out to you Sarah I'm sorry I don't I I'm sorry if I read that comment and you didn't want me to sometimes I just throw them up uh man uh but Big M says I I wouldn't be surprised if DJ is held out a couple weeks the lion staff like to slow walk their players back into action that's true that's true but he's practicing this week uh I mean I I don't think they're gonna hold him out if he can play he can play um uh Joe says uh I watch Strickland's College tape the guy is a tackling machine there's Steve what's up a resident Packer fan in the House John Herman were stacked up pretty good Go Lions still hoping uh Vikings sweep Green Bay in Chicago I like that Vikings had some luck this year uh Brent says that Strickland would have been drafted if he was taller and had longer arms oh man uh Dale says that insults usually come out of jealousy sure yep uh football player uh Mike Fisher you have been uh you have to do more than hope uh for that to come true uh my mom is in the hospital so I've been there at times in the mornings that's good you're good that that's because you're a good son Steve it is it's faith family and then football I appreciate you my brother um Russ thank you not a problem um uh at all that you read that okay cool made my heart drop there for a second because sometimes I stick my foot in my mouth uh because you know I I have bad eyesight I'm waiting for my glasses to come in you guys are gonna get to see me with some telling you right here this actually brought our whole our whole panel of people together right here this is something that Broski bear and Sarah and all of these guys we can all say this at the same time we don't care we want to talk football we don't care if if she's so scared to show up for her mental health because she's afraid that the Detroit media is going to boo her kids she didn't like saying this and why am I saying this I'll tell you why is because I love it when you guys comment I love it when you guys join the conversation but what I'm asking you to do is if you're watching it on uh Facebook right now go over to the YouTube channel if you want your comments to stick because I don't have to delete the YouTube broadcast because they're not digging me with the copyright but I delete the the broadcast for the uh the Facebook and then I go in and edit out the intros and then I re-upload it so um your comments will be lost if you put them through Facebook but they won't be
