Kirk Cousins & Bijan Robinson one hand user lurk

and here it is one of the NFL's truly iconic stadiums and the oldest one still in use it's Soldier Field in [Applause] Chicago Kyro Santos out for the opening kick and we're underway from Soldier Field kickoff taken at the three and he gets up beyond the 20 but they plant him a few inches into the ground to end that return so their offense out now to get this game started first and 10 out of the shotgun they'll give it to him inside and that's good yardage with a new set of downs it's got to be so demoralizing as a defense when you go up against a running back who just keeps those legs churning like a piston in an engine and that effort's contageous this entire offense is getting a boost and he busts those tackles they're set up at the 35 now another carry for Robinson and he's able to manage a couple on that run I think one thing you learn C with you transition from college to the NFL not every run is going to be a big play some of them will they're just destined to end in a minimal game and some of them up that critical play action for later from the 37 short pass caught by his tight end and he's out of bounds just past looks like the 40 yd line sometimes when you're just looking to move it forward get some small yards on a throw quarterback's best friend security blanket when it's a big old tight ends that's an extra bonus [Applause] CH of the chains here on Third and FL back to throw cousins complete beyond the marker and he'll pick up enough to move the chains that's what we call situational football you spend all week working on your nickel passing game package to take advantage of third Downs just like that first and 10 ball set up at the [Applause] 48 now it's cousins that's incomplete left side he's counting his lucky stars that one headed other way right now that is not the time to challenge double [Applause] coverage so after the incompletion here comes the second down call going right side Robinson with it down the sideline inside the 40 and he's in it's an Atlanta touchdown the Falcons take a 60 lead on their opening drive it's a be Robinson touchdown wow just Sensational speed from the back that time Brock he found his seam got through it and he was gone you know it's one thing Kate to have singles hitters right and you you love those and you appreciate guys that can get on base but it's the Home Run hitters that are the difference makers and what a big time effort this one is up and good and they add one on to their first touchdown of the contest all lined up and ready to boot this one away kickoff taken at the three and the return sets them up just beyond their own 20 22 yd line and the drive will start out with a first and 10 here's Williams Mo's got it and he's up to the 35 yd line as they Rel [Applause] give him 13 on that play and that's a Chicago first down I love throwing a first down and when you see a first down pass just like that it's taking advantage of a matchup you plan for and you go out and execute they're set up at the 35 now roll they'll run here on first down and he's charged towards the line that's right around three yards I know that may look like a whole lot of nothing Burger on the stat sheet those are the kind of plays that inside run that you see creative play action come off of later in the game second down now seven to go we we from the 38 Allen on the catch and he's going to go down right along Midfield strike pick up of 12 on that play and that's good for a Bears first down I'm sure coach a play caller doesn't mind making the job a little bit easier you know play Callin a lot simpler and easier when you count on the offense to move the chains on those early Downs Williams set to pass and he goes down the Falcons got to him and the drives them backwards second down coming up that sure ended up being worst case scenario pass rush just kept coming and coming and bearing down and he was looking for an escape that wasn't there it's just one of those plays in hindsight Kate where you really got to understand I got to cut bait cut my losses and avoid such a Negative play after the sack another pass on second down press there and he goes down again back to back sacks nice work by the defense there sets him up with a third down Kate I've seen a one-step drop I've seen a three a five a seven some of the boots and play actions you get more depth but a 20 step drop that's not going to cut it except for this defense that just adds a whole bunch of negative yards to that play and he'll get taken down after advancing this to the 37 year after year the best offenses are multiac not just the receivers or the tight ends that can make plays through the air when you get running backs that can attack the middle of the field like that man is a difficult on the defense punt team is on now and they get this away and now he's going to call for the fair Catch and take it just beond the 30 so no return on that punt and the offense ready to head back out on of the field [Applause] they've got first down from the 31 out the gun they'll give it to him inside and this one's brought to a halt at about the 36 yd line a nice 6yd pick up they're going to have second and four that Run's not going to turn many heads but at the end of the year I promise you if you average over five yd a run you're going to be a pro bowler hey we're good we're good off the play fake he's going to throw pressure coming and they take him down that pushes him back third down coming up sometimes I wish everybody could feel what that feels like when you're a QB if you just feel the air in the pocket getting sucked out and you know there's no Escape it can be just one heck of a deflating feeling now for that defense he puts a sack on the board and it's a nice G still not enough for the first they won't snap it in time that is going to be [Applause] back for our second quarter it's Falcons football they are looking at Fourth Down however oh they're going for this oh it's the screen pass complete and he won't Salvage that it's a loss on the play and this won't get closed they make the stand and force the turnover on Downs on first down they run and he's got nice run that reaches the 26 give him nine yds he almost moved the chains there it's going to be second and one they go play action here Falcons getting close and they take him down and that pushes him back third down coming up Kate's pretty clear isn't it it's this constant pressure that this defense imposed on this offense to keep them out of rhythm and build up this lead this offense is not going to author a comeback if this quarterback continues to run for his [Music] life here he is on Third and long and they get to him again and consecutive sacks have them staring at a tough fourth down Kate you can give him much of the credit for this early lead heck give every player in that defense now four sack of this game credit because that Ambush on the quarterback a big reason why they're in control of this game the F take first their [Applause] Drive starts out with a first and [Applause] 10 shotgun snap a give to Robinson Duke the defender with a pick up of 11 and the Falcons will have a first these are the of G he's counted on to get when they're available unfortunately we had tremendous Vision to see the scene and get through it before that window could close they've got first down from the 31 now he'll throw off the play fake couldn't connect right side it's incomplete no look on his first look of the game and now they face second down I think if you look up in the defensive encyclopedia that is a picture perfect form of it he was all over him in coverage really forcing the [Music] incompletion second and 10 now that's into the hands of more and this one's brought to a halt at about the 36 yd line whole bunch of credit goes to just about everybody on that offense guys up front give the QB enough time to let that play develop excellent effort by that receiver to stay alive for the quarterback to scan the field and find his completion here they come this is third and five try this up on the ground and not much doing he stopped quickly it's a gain of just two they needed five it's going to be fourth and three you know K I like to call these body builds body builds you got to be committed to running the football even if it doesn't move the chains I guarantee you that wear and tear will pay dividends later so we're at the two-minute warning here from Soldier Field the Falcons likely getting ready to punt this away fourth and three drive on the line here's cousins and it falls incomplete so the defense Rises to the challenge and gives the ball back to their offense hey I am all for aggression you get four downs go for it but I do have to wonder here Kate after being denied once again is there going to be a trust level on that Sidelines to go for it the next time they get this shot and oh someone stepped in it's intercepted and the Falcons take over after forcing the first turnover of this ball game I don't know what to be impressed by one effortless he made it look to throw it that deep or how effortless the cover man made it look to get that far down there and haul in the interception how about we just marvel at both of them you call a deep pass like that again on the next play it could go to the end zone but this time it is a take away offense ready to begin this drive first and [Applause] 10 Robinson on the inside and he gets a few on the Pune forward you know not a ton of yards but still showing that commitment to the ground game the type of run that keeps the defense from loading up in coverage and focusing entirely on that passing [Applause] second down now seven to go cousins got man Robinson has it they drop him with a big hit at least he's able to hold off to the G but boy Brock what a shot Rhythm you hear me talk about Rhythm a lot whether it's a golf swing a baseball swing heck even a bowler gets himself into Rhythm and I'm just telling you K from experience these little throws to running backs it's one of the best things to get your offense into Rhythm and a nice little gain on top of it the hand off on Third and short and he's tackled with the first down yardage the Falcons spend the first of their three timeouts they'll have two left to work with before half time who set it Downs for him at the [Applause] 38 throwing his cousins short pass caught by his tight end and the tackle made just beyond Midfield at the 48 big gain 14 on the play and it's good for an Atlanta first down Ze Ze [Applause] to the air cousins he put some power on a deep one left this is cck inside the 15 and they will score it's an Atlanta touchdown the Falcons will add to their lead at the end of the half Kyle pits with a touchdown so rock this offense looking sharp here in the first half as they extend their lead you know and when things are going well sometimes you really just get into a Groove and this is a unit that's putting the pieces together cou on now for the extra point that one right down the middle and they'll continue adding to their [Applause] lead atanta coup all lined up and ready to boot this one away he'll bring this out of the end zone and in the end BR an exciting touch back as the return comes out to the [Applause] 30 20 seconds left at their disposal on the final drive of this half interception last Drive doesn't deter them they're going right back to the air that's complete here's Scott and he'll get it up to the 44 the Bears decide to call their first time out from the 44 yd line now first and 10 yd Williams to throw he fires one deep down the middle he makes the catch and he does quite a b of Dage before they finally take [Applause] him the Bears bring on CYO Santos for the field goal time out called by by Atlanta that's going to be it second and they still have one in their pocket for what's left of this half this offense in position now it's first and goal Williams will look to throw that one's in complete In The End Zone that's halime of this contest wejoy both teams and taking a short break more of the NFL on EA Sports in just a moment back from the break I'm Kate Scott joined by Brock hward and we are just moments away from the beginning of our second [Applause] half lined up and ready to boot this one [Applause] away he's going to bring this one out and he gets across the 30 before he's brought down we don't always know what's said there at halim Kate in the locker room some of the adjustments offensively and defensively but I can assure you the special teams coach pulled his kick return team aside and said listen we have a chance here down double digits to spark this game let's go out and get a great return to set the offense up for success that's exactly what they did a give right side for Swift and he's going to get this up close to the 40 before going out pick up of eight on the run and that sets up second and two well that doesn't net a first down you get yards like that in the Run game you will take it in the NFL after a good pick up they're set up with second and ch here we here we off the play fake he's going to throw catch Made by Allen and he's going to go down right along Midfield strike they'll move the chains after that pick up of 12 a new seter Downs fourth coming it's first and 10 bronos first and at yd now will will s that throw finds KT give him 11 yards Brock and a fresh set of downs K I can't tell you how good that is anticipating the outcut having the ball on the way before the receiver's head even turns he puts it on him so that receiver could easily get out of bounds for the nice game first down now ball at the 39 yd line go to throw is Williams Falls to the ground out left incomplete he was looking Keenan Allen's way there and it sets up second down well covered on that play really not a large window for him to sneak that throw in no dice on that prior pass here's second down go still sticking with the passing game this pass caught by Allen and he's able to get this to the 32 before going [Applause] down all plays on the table here for third and [Music] three out of the gun they'll look to throw inter GG by anilton he's at the 30 10 and it's a touchdown as he brings it back to the pick six that play Brock that play was beautiful not just making the interception but then seeing the return slowly come together in front of him as he took it all the way to the house yeah I think even for us up here in the booth it looked like a scene out of a movie didn't it starts running it back scans the field for a lane and the blocks come just in the nick of time to out the would be tacklers and he's got open space and nothing but the end zone in front of him return coming from the six and he's brought down the offense will come onto the [Music] field here's first and 10 from the 34es the hand off now to throw and he goes down the Falcons got to him and the big play drives them backwards second down coming up even from the booth Kate I could hear it I could hear that front seven telling the guys on the back in hey all I need is a couple seconds of lock down from you guys and I'm going to get to this QB you promise that you deliver oh no they get him again we G and the fal take possession down inside the 30 after the interception okay Brock now backto back drives where they have picked him oh that's got to be a worrying trend for these coaches who know how integral the passing game is to their game plan and their success
