all right coach tough tough loss today um here at home against cal um what are some thoughts after today's game yeah you know it was interesting it was um thought from the start we were kind of off the pace a little bit um and you know we talk all year about about being tough to beat on set pieces especially you know um didn't embody that today look we got what we deserved in the first half I thought was three very soft goals that you know we could have been uh could have been prevented uh got out competed on on a corner and on a cross um we've been priding ourselves on that in preseason training and you know making that part of our identity and uh you know just wasn't not pleased to see that and I know the players weren't pleased to see that either but look we responded well to be fair in the first half we um got back into the game had a few chances hit the crossbar and just just had overall play was pretty good in the first half um probably needed some better final final decisions in in the in their box and their final third but uh overall the play was pretty good just um just some silly errors really and then look you're three goals Dow it's a good team and then it's that's an uphill battle but look got back into it 3-1 and and we're really pushing on to get the second but um another another goal that you know it's uh it's not really going to be in our identity to to concede those goals and uh thought I was pretty poor from us in that in that aspect early on you know Cal scored that you know on their own goal early on um what kind of tone does that set um you know heading into the rest of the game yeah I know it's early enough it it shouldn't really affect what we're trying to do to be honest um oh bad mistake and you know things like this happen you know we got to be able to respond uh response is key uh and response has got to be measured uh in terms of how we're going to move forward you you know uh especially after a tough tough loss like this so it's all going to be back to the training ground and see what we can do to be better the the team responded um in the second half on Olivia's uh free kick there um did she have the green light there to to take that shot yeah no totally she's got great ability on the ball um great striker of a ball too and yeah it's not a surprise to us but you know we just got have more quality moments like that to really put ourselves in a good position to to get back in the game defensively in the second half you guys started out pretty well you kept Cal off the board a little bit um what kind of adjustments are made in the second half not not any real adjustments to be honest just more belief and um we uh able to kind of kind of do what we're good at and uh what we've been doing in training to be honest but like I said it's it's really going to be our response to situations that are going to Define us um and we had a good response in the second half got back to 3-1 and then like pushing over to uh second but uh yeah just some poor decisions cost us in the end so really it's going to be about consistency and uh how we operate consistent consistently you know during the game and and obviously when we prepare and all that stuff you know on the road against Irvine next week um what are some thoughts heading to that game yeah yeah that'll be good and like I said it will be be what's our response like to the situation you know we've had a a decent first three games where we um you know um took sampford all the way uh had some two good wins um there are a real first setback so really is going to be what are we going to be like now um you know it always shows what A team's characters like once they respond to things that don't go their way this hasn't this hasn't gone our way tonight so uh let's see how we respond and um get to the drawing board on Monday thanks
