WR Deebo Samuel Sr. um a couple days after a win how eager are you to get back on the field and how do you feel about your first performance obviously you guys eight I think eight straight possession you scored so how good does that feel like just getting rolling to start the year it felt good um especially know starting out fast you know there something that we always hop on and want to do um and luckily we got the win and uh coming off a short week we know we back to work um had a day off yesterday so we back in now and just getting ready to go is there a Textra between the Netflix guys cuz I mean I had a chance to watch it no there's nothing nothing like that all right Sam darnold is uh playing over there what did you learn about Sam how talented is he and how tough real talent he got a strong arm he's smart make the right decisions we you got scor 32 points against a good defense but uh how do you kind of balance with you know it was a good showing but you know do you think there's more out there for you guys oh yeah for sure um it's always more out there for us every time we step on the field um you know we try to get touchdowns instead of field goals but points is points but um overall I think we had a pretty good performance how did that sit with you the six field goal good for was good yeah for sure congrats on him and wi the NFC player of the week do you enjoy playing in Minnesota as a road environment that they got a unique fan base it's loud there I me never played there oh that's right from what you saw I guess that's pretty loud good environment for sure how serious you guys were headed into the match up when he walked in he was kind of shocked about that and then you guys go out and have a big win how do you guys kind of keep your head kind of focus and not get too high you got guys around the league saying yall are the best team right now we just got to you know we got to control the things that we control um we know everybody that we have around this building and from us to the players the people up top I think they be do a great job of bringing the guys in that fits us well and you know um when you step out on the field business is business and you go out there and just try to make the best out of every opportunity you get Trent was saying the other night that when he got here after missing all that camp that he was really impressed by how locked in everybody was how laser focused everybody was you know for the whole camp that he' missed did you have that feeling all the way through camp that you guys were locked in and ready to go sure um especially coming off a Super Bowl loss you know um I think a lot of us use that as motivation to come in and kind of put it behind us and not look back for what happened but kind of like move forward and just control the things that we can do for us like day to day and week to week and I just think everybody was just trying to Perfect Day craft every day on Monday you took a lot of snaps in the back field are you expecting to take more snaps in the back field during practice this week um expected unexpected WR Brandon Aiyuk we how did you feel just physically coming out of the game the other night after the long layoff there feel good A little sore a little soreness solid though yeah did you feel yourself like ramping up like this week or how how do you kind of just view like you know your workload kind of increasing over the next few weeks here uh hopefully take another step M how how critical are you on yourself and kind of what your self evaluation of the first game uh I think after the game I didn't I I didn't watch the film until this morning uh I was a little bit scared to watch it but not as bad as I thought you were scared to watch it I was scared to watch it did it just not feel right at the time no uhuh have you ever felt like that before for game that you were scared was was that because of the the endzone play foron uh partly yeah partly the ball was in the right spot though yeah was a DME you're playing in Minnesota this week uh Justin Jefferson obviously a pretty good counterpart of yours uh what's your take on his game and what he offers the lakens dynamic just got to know where he's at on every single play cuz he's that good BR was it what is the next step for you as far as just getting back up to you know midseason for um repetition just we got a short week this week so being deliberate um today um and tomorrow and yeah leading into the game all the way up to the game Christian at what point on Monday did RB Christian McCaffrey you feel like you weren't going to be able to go a Monday morning just moving around a little bit you know I prepare every week to play my mindset every week is I'm going to play um you know there's been weeks where I'll go the full week you know not even feeling good enough to do the walkthrough and then I wake up and the body's capable of a lot of cool things and you know mentally I'm always prepared to play and then woke up and it was a group decision uh very tough one I hate not playing um but look at it as a chess move and you know something that hopefully we can benefit from the rest of the season is it at all Remnant from the half injury you were dealing with at the end of last season uh it doesn't have anything to do with anything last season though um you know it's just something I'm dealing with that I'll get right should were there were there any days in practice last week where you didn't feel right or that felt worse than than other days well I think when you don't feel right in practice there's a difference between you know you don't feel right but maybe by Sunday you'll be good to go you know when you're working through some stuff and something's off um you know and so mentally I feel like as I said before I'm always prepared to play uh my mindset is I'm going to play no matter what I'm going through physically on Wednesday or Thursday practice um and then the game day you got to make a decision you expecting a similar process this week my mentality is I'm playing this week that's that's where I'm at that's how I am every week you know I'm not lying I think as soon as a player says you know maybe I'll play maybe I won't that that's not a good mentality to go into a week with you know when you're kind of on the on the fence so for me I'm I'm ready to go is artificial turf any issue with yeah if you can't run on Turf you can't run on the field can't run on grass you can't run on Turf I think if you can go you can go did you get a chance chance to pull aside JP before the game and say hey it's your ball honestly no I think uh with someone like him man I'm so proud of him he uh when you're in a rhythm and you're in a Groove you let him be and uh and he showed that man I was I was so pumped for him and um you know just everything that he's done all Camp you know he's earned that and and he bought out and it showed did you talk to him after the game yeah absolutely yeah congrats yeah congratulated him uh we got a special room and and he's right there in in the in the play and someone who's going to help our team a lot this year so um I'm happy he's in our room and super happy for him overall what did you think of the performance coming out of it way you guys played for the first week thought it was awesome man I think uh you know week one you're always expecting a little bit of slot but you know I thought the mindset was great I thought the intent we played with was great um you know obviously there's there's always things to work on um but watching from the sideline just getting that perspective I felt like um you know the intent was there and it was you know obviously you hate sitting out but uh to get a win for the Niners to be one and0 it's a good thing I think Jordan averaged over eight yards a carry on runs behind puny what what did puny look like on on tape to you he looked great man he looked like a vet looked like somebody that's been there before and I think that's just a testament to you know the room that they have and him being able to follow those vets you know Trent coming in you know without hardly practicing to and looking that well and just think the whole unit the o line the tight ends juice um they all look good and so hopefully we can carry it on to this week you got Sam on the other side what did you appreciate about playing with him as a teammate and and and his talent level yeah man I've known Sam for a long time now he's become you know one of my better friends that I've met in the league and uh it's cool to see him get an opportunity because he deserves it he's always been extremely talented somebody who can play in this league he's smart he's tough um you know and and obviously we want to win this week but I'm happy for him and his opportunity and have nothing but the utmost respect for him hi so why are we TE Goerge Kittle wearing the helmet today um Iowa lost to Iowa state was tough at home hate to see it uh but unfortunately the better Iowa team one that day you guys had a big lead in the game were you feeling confident early on I was yes unfortunately but that's when you usually lose when you're confident how quickly did Rock reach out to you oh this is a small helmet kit size um pretty quickly yeah he texted me the score instantly I said Thank You Brock you ruined my whole weekend if had won what would Brock have had to do today the exact same thing as me right now is that his old helmet yeah smells like it thanks BR but uh yeah know I had my Iowa helmet out here too I tried to put a dark visor on this but Brock didn't want me to do that but it's I get it it makes sense do you have any other bits going this college football season oh dear hopefully only ones that I win um I don't know anyone on the team from Troy so we'll see when I get there I think we play uh Ohio State pretty soon in Minnesota we we'll figure some stuff out speaking of Iowa I think this is the closest game on the NFL schedule to to both of the campuses Iowa and Iowa state will you have people that that you know from from Iowa make the trip up Yes actually um I have like 20 of my mom's side family members show gr up you know my mom's uh she's one of 10 girls and so yeah 20 members are coming from that side I know a lot of people in Minneapolis I like 25 to 30 people there George since you're wearing the helmet what are the pros and cons of The Shield over the eyes oh dear I did lose a bet Floyd help me out pros and cons I actually couldn't wear one because like I spit and stuff and it would get everywhere so I don't know how people do this um it does dim the lights of these bright cameras a little bit though I will say that so maybe that's why people you know it dims the lights probably people like them any any like Minnesota football questions I to ask how do you feel going in Minnesota after going against the Jets um I feel really good I really do um I thought we played a really good game against the Jets you know obviously things that we need to clean up all over uh Jake Moody was phenomenal uh I think we have a good momentum going uh we figured out kind of our Identity On The Run game like we were're just going to run outside Zone a lot um Minnesota definitely uh you know they went into New York and worked the Giants and uh Flores in that defense is very talented the the their percentage rates of blitzing is incredible they Blitz more than anybody else uh you know they beat us last year in Minnesota so um they obviously have our number right now we're just going to do everything we can to change that outcome you mention Moody how good is a game one to have a reset rather compared to last season um you know anytime you go six for six and win uh NFC player of the week I think that's a great thing um and I think hopefully that just you know continues to increase his confidence CU he's a hell of a kicker they can kick really really long field goals what's your take on the skull chant just the atmosphere in Minnesota I mean I love playing Midwest football games um because like everybody there just loves football so much and you can just kind of feel the energy of the like of the of the city throughout the week um every time I play there I've had a great time the fans are in it uh they're loud they love the Vikings and you know they have a really good team they have Justin Jefferson who's a freak uh they got you know Sam Darold out there singing it he looked great last week so they have a lot of talented players and uh their crowd is definitely going to be behind them when you guys can control the ball as much as you did that Fred obviously appreciates said we were on the sideline drinking Kool-Aid how much pride you guys taking almost taking two-thirds of the game just with the football and helping the defense really good about it um hopefully he's not drinking Kool-Aid that's a lot of sugar Gatorade is a much better option um besides that anytime you can be on the field that long that means you're running the ball and anytime that we run the ball more than 30 times we're a really good football team I in the history of Coach Shanahan so we're just going to continue to try to run the ball as much we possibly can keep our defense rested because we have a really good defense and we don't have to rotate very much and they stay like they're fresh 100% they're flying around causing fumbles causing turnovers and that's what leads a good uh good wins just out of curiosity is there any correlation to the types of questions that are being asked when you check your arm not that I'm aware of okay is that a 49ers wristband or an Iowa State this is Josh jobs' wristband stop reading the place when's the last time you played quarterback at Youth Level at any point um eighth grade okay I think I was backup at nth grade too hey the more you can do right right going up against some pretty good DL Nick Bosa offensive tackles this week and you faed before what do you think about that match up um that one in particular is both I think uh I think well yeah I think both of them I think they're one of the better tandems of of tackles in the league and they have a very good run game which helps them out so um it'll be fun we've had some battles before and I think uh they're probably better now and I'm better now so see how it goes Nick you say that you're better now have you kind of focused in on one thing in particular coming into this season that you wanted to work on or improve yeah I really have um I don't want to talk about it too much but uh it'll come up on tape and it already has so um I think I'm a lot more balanced between my different rushes and I think it's opening up some things and I was happy with the other night once we started to get some Ops later in the game how it was going but a lot to improve on and uh I'm just excited to have another op not to dig too deeply but meaning your your past rush moves you're using a greater variety a more equal percentage of the time yes Nick what' you think of the first game with uh Leonard on the other side it was awesome he was winning a lot um causing a lot of Havoc he had a couple good plays in The Run um but this week I think we're playing a better um honestly a better team that's uh they're playing better football it looks like and uh they run run the ball well and um we're going to have to be better in our our techniques we kind of got away with some things last week so uh so yeah we have to hone in and not not Pat ourselves on the back what kind challenge does Sam darn present now that you're going to face him in in a Minnesota un um I haven't watched too much on him he's Stout he could run a little bit uh I mean since he's been here uh I know how how his arm strength is and how he's a good processor of information and could get the ball out so um it'll it'll be the same formula try and make him one dimensional and then go from there specifically on Dar what's made him what makes him such a tough left tackle I think he's got a low Center gravity um he's athletic um so it's tough to power him and then um he's he's athletic enough to run you by and and if you get his hands he kind of is able to replace him and run you by somebody like Leonard he's got such a good high motor does that you see that kind of carry over to the to the rest of the room when you're playing next to the guy that given that kind of effort every play yeah I think our effort was pretty darn good against the Jets even from first play on sometimes it takes a little uh little time early in the season cuz game speed is different and that game wind is different um but I think we're flying around and and uh Floyd's no exception uh Aaron held the ball the less amount the least amount of any quarterback in the league last week 2.33 seconds for how do you as a pass rusher who wants to get those sacks how do you view that I mean there's obviously a positive that comes with that from the overall defense but how do you do that yeah I mean it's it's tough we kind of expected it though um and then they they pulled them late which was kind of surprising but uh I think we were we were causing some pressure um we weren't on the field much um and then you're going three and out and he's getting the ball out so it gets a little tough to keep your mind in it but there was some Ops at the end there and uh we're just going to have I mean games it's good football it's Niner football if that's the type of games we have when we don't have a lot of Ops but we have to go get them at the end so we have to keep our mind in it what kind of the other night did uh when he came when you walk in and then everybody's like all right we've been here we're working and then you're like all right it's it's work it's football and that's just how it is here and um that's why we were able to have a good team year in and year out Nick what kind of Pride do you take in the fact that you were beating the Jets so bad they took out Aaron Rogers um like I said we're not patting ourselves on the back it's one game and um we don't know how good we are yet and we don't know how good other teams are so we just have to keep getting better you ever had a backward bull rush like you had in the last game that was a failed move um but I'll take it I get a little pressure on him so after the game when were you and Patrick really kind of talking about it yeah he was just asking me um about some of my pass rush PL plan and and I was just uh elaborating and we were kind of going back and forth as far as Road environments Minnesota's got a a pretty unique fan base do you enjoy playing there uh in Minnesota that Stadium the fans all that it's a long flight and it's field Turf but it is one of the cooler environments I can't lie about that make sure you subscribe
