[Music] Bri a warning the next time you are going to see it coming has been abducted she's my daughter old what kind of trouble will this causeing bridg I want to understand how your world works Harold Harper John litha it's a scary thing this weapon that I've been given what I like about this story is that it's kind of on the outside um in a wonderful way it's a spy thrilling fight weapons but it's really this very smart conversation about power and age and men and women and strength and uh just when you think you understand oh I've seen this before I can guarante to you you haven't and uh we learn every week um so yeah it's very it's not like anything else it's a page Turner when I read the book it affected me that way the script is the is the same way and uh you know I play a excia agent a spy and being an actor myself I could relate to what these guys have to do they're these guys are probably the best actors in the world because they're acting for their lives you know so uh it was intriguing but my favorite thing about the whole process is who I get to play with you know Amy brenaman John litho all the cool kids saying at being an actor myself uh I could relate we have a fellow Christopher hudleston who is our uh a real guy on the set he was a CIA operative and he would tell me that you know we talk about acting gigs having to go in and you know act for his life you know so we I could relate to that what was the best action seene in the second season oh he's not going to tell you yeah you have to see it you go thank you War but I think season two we have a new Dynamic season one Jeff Bridges and John litho had very few scenes together they were opposing for but they really weren't in the same scene at the same time season 2 throws them literally in the opening scene they're in the back of a cargo truck and they're on a journey in Afghanistan to try and rescue Alia shakat who is essentially their daughter not not their biological daughter but they think of her as their daughter so that's a wonderful Dynamic that they get to be thrown together and they have a common Mission although they can't agree on how to go how to accomplish the task um and then I think for Angela Emily who Alia is playing um reveals herself in a really powerful identity story to be Parana and so the young woman that they're rescuing is not who they thinks she is and she has learned that she's not who she thinks she is so incredible obstacles geopolitical threats the US Russia China Afghanistan all kinds of things being thrown at us but I think also a deeply personal story and when did you shoot this second uh season and where uh we finished it in March believe it or not um you know we are our locals are Afghanistan and we go to London and we go to Hong Kong um we shoot it all in Southern California um in the hills of Santa Clarita we built an Afghan Village um and uh piece by piece we put that world together and then through the magic of visual effects we put the hills and the mountains of a Afghanistan and um and I think the world is very believable um we do a lot of research um and we have an amazing art department and so we go to London not really um we go we go to Hong Kong not really but I think for the audience they feel the scope and size of our journey um and I think that's an important element um to enjoy the show I know it's fiction but how do you think this story resonate for with our award right now John Steinberg I think has created a historical fiction um at play Russians us China Afghanistan and um I think a smart viewer will recognize that those kinds of political struggles which also has a lot of money um at stake those are all recognizable battles that we're engaged in now so um we put it through the lens of our characters uh and we tell our story but it's very believable um we do a lot of research we have an amazing CIA consultant and all that goes into telling the stories that we tell there's no war back from it [Music]
