welcome back our next guest Oscar winning actor who made his on screen debut as a baby more than 70 years ago since then Jeff Bridges has started more than 65 movies including King Kong Tron crazyart of course the big leowski now he's back with another season of the old man welcome back great to see you great to be here thanks I was telling you I love the show my wife is addicted to it tell us about the new season oh well it just UPS theany you know it picks up right where season one left off John and I are heading out to find our daughter and that picks up right there next thing you know we're in Afghanistan on our way and uh more International you know uh High Jinx and more emotional every just the twists and turns you know all of that stuff it's so well written uh John Steinberg our showrunner did a great job and your show is called the old man but your um your grandkids have another name for you right I wanted them to call me dudp but they've shortened that down to just Duty we were talking we were talking abouts before the show started I hope it's not I hope it's howdy duty duty but anyway that's I'm Duty man you know nothing like kids nothing like kids but I I I Echo what George said I am addicted to the show as well we're on the same page and um we're going to show everybody a clip let's check it out what would you need transport into the valley supplies day or two to observe the village and build a plan and then we'd move 20 men Small Arms in and out can you do that a day or two to observe the village is not enough oh we have no time to delay no time to delay no time to delay and and I watch to show you have incredible cast but you John L go you two look like you going to you have a good lot of fun together we do man you know we have a lot in common both from show biz families MH and we approach the work you know in a similar way you know to become good buddies you know that's what we're supposed to do you know our characters are supposed to have known each other for years so you know we said let's get down to it and get close man you know a lot of actors you know or some actors will say just call me by my character's name you know and oh yeah oh yeah well they and that works fine too that's not our method our method is let's hang out get to know each other you know we got we got to change some things around here that jumps off the screen can I say we are so grateful and thankful that you're on the other side of your journey with cancer and you've had we share that yeah we're both ders there and so it's so wonderful to see you back in action what's it like to be you know back at it oh it's funny we had was it two years off between pretty much but you get the same uh you get all the same guys back together and it seems like well we had a long weekend and now you know boom it goes fast you you kind of forget where you've been in a sense you know that's my my experience you're also back in the tron Universe Tron are oh right with Jared Leto now he said he kept ruing takes because you just made him laugh and smile he was very very wonderful to work with does a great job the Tron legacy well said all that this modernization that we're we're coming into now big time with all this Quantum Computing and all that AI stuff so Tron should have a good audience I would think I would think so is it it's it fun to like be a part of a series like that that continues yeah 82 we made the first right 8282 yeah and back then it was a shot in 70 mm black and white uh black duvine was the set with you know white adhesive tape and you know I mean it was just so primitive and now oh I mean I I've been scanned and sucked into the computer up my they can do whatever the hell I want with we like to have the real deal here for com you just thinking [Laughter] right FX is the old man returns for its second season tomorrow and streams the next day on Hulu
