Milton Williams I just want to ask you I asked Victor this earlier about the depth at defensive tackle you know with muser Booker Hall how do you see you know the progression of those those guys uh you know as depth options progress the progression of guys like uh muster Booker Hall um how how are they improving or or what do you see from them oh yeah no they we we get it in every day and they making strides they getting better uh we hurt we hurt coaching us to do you know focusing on block destruction and finishing at the top of rushes you know they growing every day they going to be ready for sure the biggest takeaways from the preseason opener for you biggest takeaways um just feel good to be back out there in in the game setting um know it's a lot of uh lot of rust to get knocked off but like I said guys are getting better every day we just got to keep making those strides and uh like I said we practice hard so the game was kind of like I felt pretty good out there from what I when I was out there but like we get it in in practice so it was good VI mentioned earlier today that he thinks that you can play some nose if need be to back up Jordan there um have you played nose you know previously and what do you feel about your ability to do that uh like I said I feel like I can do it all on D line whatever whatever any coach need me to do I feel like I can do it um I ain't played a lot at nose but I I didn't got a couple snaps here and there we mess up a call or serve the wrong guide and stepped in and you know make sure I was in my Gap and made a play [Applause] so your deal here have you feel like you feel like there extra Cress on you feel like perform order to get that contct for you SE man it's it's pressured every day you know just coming out here trying to make sure I ear earn my opportunity to to be able to do that but like I said I got a I got a ball like it ain't I can't be thinking about if they if I'm going to get a contract or not I got to make sure I'm being productive on the field and that's just going to come automatic at this stage of your career where do you feel you've shown the most growth what do I feel I shown the most growth uh just being a consistent player you know whenever my numbers called just being ready for anything like I said any position on the line let me know what's my assignment I'm going to make sure I'm going do that to the best of my ability and I feel like I've done that so far and you just got to keep getting better at better at that being more consistent and winning at a at High clip you oh uh yeah yeah well Vic he like to he like to mix up the fronts a little bit good Us in different spots so I I I'll get a couple rips on the end for sure you had to pick one guy on the team who going to have a big season who would it pick one guy on the team to have a big season other than me nah uh one guy on the team that have a big season Morrow okay why is that Moro jumo he he he bring it he he he know what he finally he going to get the opportunity and uh now he ready he ready he working hard every day asking questions and meetings know he in tune he he going to be ready thank you think also had said that last year when he was with Miami he he tried to get the Dolphins to trade for you and how he said no I'm just curious if you were aware of that and your thoughts on it no a couple people sent that to me but I I didn't know that till he said that the other day you know I mean it was good I mean I guess it's good to be wanted by other teams they they see what I can do uh yeah I mean that's good to hear I'm doing something right practi before uh how much you looking forward to uh Tuesday and and the Patriots oh yeah that's that's always fun I think I think with the Patriots practice we they came here not too long ago no joint practice is always fun you get the juices flowing might be a fight every now and then but n it it's fun for sure you're the veteran about not fighting is isn't that something that you know is is emphasized they can talk about it but at the same time we playing football so it might happen it might not you know if it do happen you know we just try to break it up get everybody back and get back to the game you're now the veteran in the defensive line room there how have you taking on more of a leadership or Happ uh I I feel like they getting loud over there no I just feel like uh I leave by example you know I don't feel like I need to change up much uh just showing them how I work and practice how how I do things when I'm on the field and just being on time asking questions in meetings you know making sure everybody is on point and knowing what to do like I said it I've been doing that since I got here just learning from the vets that was here and I just feel like I took something from them and just added to my game this defense when it comes to stun you guys have some autonomy with that when it comes to stuns in the defense you guys have the autonomy to kind of call them yourselves or is it coming from from it's a it's a mixture of both it's a mixture of both U excuse me it's a mixture of both of just how we see and how we think they blocking so Vic here he obviously call something but if if he said if we see something or her said if we see something that we like throughout the game we can call him ourselves what does he like as a position coach like demeanor or anything that sticks out to you that he tells you guys that what really resonates uh he a player as coach you know he on us he he going to be on us but now we we had fun in the meetings he coaches hard but it it's like a like a jokingly hard like he on you but it's like all right now you got whoop right here but you going you need to get back and this what you need to do to focus on getting better and then he move on to the next guy but now I heard he he's a great coach I know obviously with him being uh former defensive coordinator he he know a lot of ball so it's just good to have him in there and just I feel like I'm learning a little bit more just about formations what team what certain teams like to run in different situations so I feel like we learned a lot about the different alignments you line up at nose three technique on the edge you have a different approach as you're lining up at each one different game plan yeah so um most of the time like if I'm pass rushing off the edge it's more space out there so everything your timing is different from the inside so if I'm on a in a three technique on the guard it's like one step and no it might be no step you need to have a move ready but on the edge is like three or four steps and then you throw your move depending on how the offens lineman is setting so it's the further you get out the more space it is and there just different timing on on what you want to do from your perspective what's likeing oh hey that's that that's a big that's a big guy but uh you know he got long arms so you know like I just told you like one step you got to have have your move up or he going to hit you in the face you got to be ready ready to recover but if you cat him it's over with huh are you able to get under a bigger guard easier oh yeah I'm already cuz he 6'8 I'm already he got to come down to me so I'm already down there Cam Jurgens apprciate a while since you actually played in a live game center play it's up panning out that way and your first snap is brail you comfortable yeah whatever they tell me to do it's kind of loud right there um yeah yeah whatever they decide on doing I'm good with um that's the nice thing about having joint practice and and things like that it's like it's not a joint practice for us it it's a game you know we're going to go into it with the same mentality like we do going into the game so I think that's a lot of where the starters get a ton of reps um that's what we're playing on so you know it's it's how can you mimic a game with without playing in a game looks like the line is kind of settling on beckon at at Right Guard how's the cohesion and communication coming uh you know with that starting five yeah it's uh it's getting better it's definitely got better since the first week we started and uh just that constant communication and being out there when you get five guys and just being able to talk to lingo and be on the same page and it's been getting better every day how benici say again how beneficial has it been to you the kelse around do you actually use him or uh yeah he comes in puts it gives his input uh it's really nice you know it's obviously not just from that aspect but like yo he he's a really good friend to a lot of us so it's great to see him whenever he comes out here uh it's always fun to catch up yeah just a lot of it's uh talking about angles and where where I want him to be and just how how different every D lineman plays you know you're going to have two gappers penetrators um different guys play different techniques and figuring out how the footwork changes from each defensive guy and depending where that linebacker is and if we have certain certain um motions and whatnot where it may change like our footwork and it's just there's a lot of little things to go into it uh that people don't realize how much goes into it um and that takes time to build and learn and that's what helps you know playing guard last year being able to talk through them angles the the process of of changing a position right I mean you went through that three years ago now and Ma's doing it now like Brett to did it last year what's it it like for an offensive lineman to try to learn a new position um you know I I try to play football I don't try to play a position and so I think the better you can uh you can learn schemes instead of you know positional things the better you're going to be be off and so I think um you know obviously there's little technique deals that uh changes when you go from guard to center from tackle to things like that but um I I think uh Stout does a really good job is when he uh when he teaches and puts in plays it's not just hey only know what you're doing he teaches everybody in front of everybody so I think from the the rules of that learning the scheme as a whole helps you uh learn it so then when you go from different positions it's easy for you to pick things up I mean you see that how many guys on our o line have played different spots across the board so um I don't think a lot of teams do that as much as we do so it's it's pretty nice the way it gets taught and I think it makes it a lot easier for guys in o line quickly picked up car uh um I think I think early on when he got here he was so happy to be with the Eagles and it was so fun to have in that room um I I'm not surprised by it because I mean in OTAs we would be going through and just how many questions he would ask and how engaged he would be and and how much he just wanted to learn um it's fun playing next to him because he he just enjoys being out there and playing football you can see he's having a lot of fun with it and you know when people are having fun that that uh rubs off on everybody and it's it's fun to be around I know it's a different coaching staff with New England but especially if you don't play in the preseason how beneficial will it be to go against a defense that does have some exotic pressure looks you know maybe will'll send more at you than yeah um I think we're seeing a lot of that with our defense and and things like that so I think it's going to be super beneficial because you guys saw at the end of last year how many exotic pressures we got and just being able to you know be a lot better as an offense picking those things up and being sure that we're covered on all aspects uh in that just getting better at that you know we need to make sure we're a lot more sound than that and you know that's a a big issue we faced at the end of last year and we need to make sure you know people we can show that we can handle it a rarity to have like a center have that much Authority when it set protections is it is it easier now just because it's a little more traditional with Y picking one little more um you know I think everybody's still got similar responsibilities uh I think it just helps uh if everybody knows what everybody's looking at you know if I'm making a call Everybody's doubting what that call is Jay knows what it is if he sees something different he can flip it if I see something different we're it's just constant communication and everybody's given input you know um everybody's got their job to do and you know I think uh you know the quarterback's going to have a final say in it and but if we all know what we're looking for and we're all dialed in that's that's what helps when everybody's looking at their job and their responsibility and I'm able to make a call but if I get input from a left tackle and he tells me um a certain thing where he sees something we can all flip it uh so that helps I I think it's it should be um you know the whole group doing it together there Nuance oh I'm sorry you got a couple Seasons to go against what you how was he evolved in this game from your perspective yeah milts milt's got a really good power game and he's quick he's able to hop around gaps uses his hands really well uh he's tough I think he he doesn't give his stuff away either I think he's really sound in that um he he's fun to go against because he he can do so much and it all comes from the same spot I'm not I hope I'm I'm I'm not making something like a bigger deal than this but are there nuances to snapping the jilen as as far as like the velocity of the ball the ball placement that you have to adjust from Center to quarterback um I'm snapping the ball yeah no I'm saying because like he used to say uh that uh that Kelsey snaps were like really fast you know the acceleration or the velocity on it was faster than he was used to I I didn't know if as you adjust from one quarterback to another Nebraska quarterbacks backup quarterbacks if you have to adjust how you snap uh I you know I I try to snap it the best I can and in the best spot and then I go ask Jaylen was that a good snap did you like that snap and if he says yes and it's a good snap and so it's just constant communication throughout Camp making sure it's fine but yeah I you know I'm just trying to he's trying to fill me out and I'm filling him out but you know for the most part I'm not catching my Snaps so he is all right you're returning to Center which has a you know there's a a leadership component to it you're the quarterback of the offensive L and as you've done this has it come naturally or did it take a second to kind of reestablish yourself in that role no I think it came pretty naturally um you know I've kind of I've always played center you know playing guard was the first thing so that felt like I was a little little different I was trying to get used to that but you know I feel comfortable going back to Center and and getting back in that spot you know communication um is key and I feel like I you know I had a really good teacher this last couple years and all throughout College like a lot of the stuff we're doing has been similar um so it feels it feels a lot more comfortable thanks yep
