so you mentioned you wanted to have a farewell farewell tour and you are back on it for a year what are your thoughts about going into that man I'm excited just to be here right now um that's why I'm here in OTAs just trying to enjoy every little day um yeah it's especially how this offseason went I mean how it it's going right now I man I couldn't have asked for a better uh shot at it this year on my last year you feel like you go through the times where you go like you know this might be my last this is going to be my last time OTA is much last timeing way doing that stuff you playing a lot now oh yeah oh yeah you you break down every day and then it's like man what we already done with the first week almost tomorrow be the first week we got seven more to go and you know it's just we just getting started but um I do love um just the you know just the feeling of how the team rolling right now see what the draft talking about next week and yeah we just uh get ready for what's to come to try to help them boys get up to speed but um yeah man it's it's it's it's truly a blessing to be here sitting in this chair one more time I mean minus two Kelsey and and Fletch but I know that uh they going to be helping as much as they can from the from the chairs but I know that um we gonna have something special this year I can feel it first meeting like with Vic fio what was the first meeting like with angio oh we haven't we haven't did those meetings yet um that started in a couple weeks but uh um I mean just having the the coaches presence around the building you could tell that um they can't wait to be with us right now we just training we just training like we normally would we just getting together training together what was your view from the defensive side of the ball and getting Sequon man it's going to be fun to practice against him every day happy to have him on our team uh we know he's a home run hitter uh you just got to make sure that you we we got a bunch of weapons it's just the way it's just how we utilize um utilize him but um we know that he's a dynamic player especially with Fletcher as it said in that you're doing this without him first time yeah it has because uh his lockers changed I mean you move on pretty you don't move on but you know you you have to you you get forced to because now you got you got Moro who right next to him I mean right next to me and you know I want to make sure I build him up too uh but I I know Fletch is on your phone call away so I'm not worried uh he not going too far because uh he want to see how we do this year for sure tomorrow and Locker mhh you've been doing this a while is there any somebody in Malcolm Jenkins comes to mind for me who came in right and right away even though he was coming from a different place was a leader and do you think saquon can be that type of I think he can be that for for his for his side of the ball for his room for his side of the ball I mean just talking with Jaylen a little bit uh just from with them training together out out where they was and he was just saying like he see all the leadership qualities in him you know it's just all about us just going out and proving it every day how did you experience uh watching Kelsey and Cox uh say goodbye it was it was a it was a sad sad little moment because I know I'm not too far away from them I mean I'm I'm happy for them guys cuz I mean whenever you can walk away on your terms that's the best thing and you know I'm definitely gonna miss them but I know they gonna be tuned in so I want to give them something good let them know that uh you know what they what we all started together uh we going to keep it going and on that you how I was talking about yesterday about the importance of people who play their whole career here I mean you you were the first among those in 2010 um how have you experienced that over this decade how how do you see that it's importance I think that's that held true that's been holding true ever since how he's been here and um I love to see it uh getting those guys locked in for a couple more years and I mean just people that you draag you want to make sure I mean it's not just for a little bit for a long time hopefully especially when you got good players too uh that's helping this team and you got good personalities too man because that's that's hard to come by sometimes and when you got a good player on top of guys that know how to work you want to you want to try to take care of them as best you can within reason within um you know how they running the organization but I think that how we has proven that that's what he want to do and it's up to us to make sure we produce on the field in order for him to you know be able to bring us back given how rare it is to go out on your own terms you feel like an extra sense of gratitude that it looks like you're going to be able to do that oh yeah yeah man I'm thankful so thankful I've been thankful just you know coming here from coach Reed drafted me and you know how he I'm being his first one as a GM and and you know I just wanted to make sure I I pay the debt of what you know they they paid me and so I just I know for me I just going out there to help the guys this year man and and whenever I can show up I'm going try to show up in a big way uh for the team and if sometimes if that's just talking to people getting people out of their own head sometimes I'm cool with that because what were your thoughts about thean leaving and if they asked you do you have more in you than you even gave last year well I feel I feel good last year I mean I was just I like how they how they build me up during the season because I was we was ready to take off if we' have got through uh that first first playoff game but I know I know my role I know how they want to play it you know and I'm there um for where wherever they want me to wherever they want me to uh go you know but I know that we got a lot of guys that's that's that's young and ready to go to and for me I'm I'm the Ace in the Hole that's how I look at it you know uh what what H I understand this business man I mean h understand that too it was good that you know me and him got to talk even after the trade and you know uh it's something that's just not going to stop here it's going to you know forever be able to you know pick up the phone and call them and talk to him uh we understand this we understand this this business and I think that's that's part of it and you want to be able to keep all your all your good players and sometimes you got to let people go you got to choose in between who you going to have and who you not and I think that you know he's want at least he went somewhere that I know they take care of him for sure because d uh Joe D he was here and he was under hoe and I think Howe and him made a good good little deal together you know to make sure that you know H's at least you know be close to home and happy at the same time what have you learned about health H what you learned about H well he's working you know that's one thing that boy is out there every day uh putting in right now he putting in a little extra uh I couldn't cuz y'all you know I'm here with y'all right now but uh um we've been doing good man just building that he wanted to play with HS but I but he understand the business side too and so he just happy to be here honestly um but I know that his mindset is to go out there and and be his best so he can um you know hit all his personal goals too what differences have you noticed from noan Smith heading into this so than what you see when you last saw him after the end well just the confidence you can see his confidence growing knowing that it's more it's more on him this year um you know just trusting I mean you got you got High you bring in huff and you got sweaty but then you got to see who who's right behind that and it's a competition every we got some good players some real good players to compete with each other every day keep each other on on um on our toes and that's how you want in the room you want people to just keep elevating keep getting better and I think he letting you know just people the doubts fuel him and I'm I want to get him to where he want to where he want to go and uh and it's like I told him in one day at a time and you got to can't worry about you know what people saying cuz when your play start when you start to perform everything can change close friends and and teammates retire over the years whether it's Fletcher or someone else um is there anything that you've learned from them watching them go through the final years of of their careers that you hope will inform you and how you approached this last year well you know what I mean it didn't end the way we wanted it to but the experience was everything um just on how we handled adversity I mean I couldn't have been more proud of how we you know dealt with dealt with that hard tough season last year um I mean we won off Talent alone you know but we just we we understood that we wasn't as on the same page as we would have like but that's something that could carry us for this year that we've learned you know even the team even the guys that's still here you know it's what we learn from That season and how we going to apply it to this year so it don't happen again on top of you know you know um the excitement of you know just the new guys that come in and and getting them up to speed and letting them know that it's not going to be like how it was last year and we going to make sure we we we we uh do we we go out there and and prove that uh because you know the lip service is is what that is I mean I I talk my stuff but I really want to go out there and back it up at the same time too so I can stay credible on you know when I do talk myself Stu but um yeah I think that uh I think those guys wish that it probably would have ended a little better but I know that they learned a lot too uh that can help them carry move them forward um in in their life um ahead the adversity he went through it couldn't have been as hard it's not going to be as hard as as last year was you know and so I think that um it's going to serve them well in their uh Endeavors after touch a little bit but uh with Nolan what would be your biggest piece of advice to him right now keep your head down know what to just make sure you keep knowing what to do learn the Playbook as best you can so you can be the the fast athletic you you know on the field um and you know I have to worry about you know cuz I know he know he know what he's doing he know he know the plays that's not the thing is just it's just about getting getting that next year in and building that confidence so now you can you can kind of speak up a little bit because now you the guy in the room man uh you still got sweaty and and now Huff um you know that's going to get the you know the most of it but you know you you still add a layer in there they waiting on you too because you you a first round pick and they they would rather it be you you know what I'm saying especially with him being that so I just try to keep him positive on that but I I tell them you got to work because I mean that's where you at that's your position right now you got to work uh sweaty and huff they proved themselves now you got to go prove yourself and see where you fit in thanks PG M yeah
