Cooper DeJean how feel be out there great okay be back out there um I was excited a lot of lot of adrenaline rolling um you know so it's good good to be back out there a lot of things for lot of things to learn from what have you been doing over the last few weeks to make sure I mean I'm really just staying likeed in in practice um you know getting the calls you know watching watching my position um you know see watching things that I can learn watching tape on other guys that I can learn um you know so just just trying to trying to stay involved as much as I can you know while while being out how would you assess your performance I was all right was that right um you know still you know a lot lot of things lot of things to learn from you know you go back watch the tap um you know just a couple missed tackles that I remember um you know so just got to just got to be got to be better got got to stick on guys better as well um you know but there there's lot to learn you know we got a got a great group of guys that to learn come to what did you like about your performance today uh man I feel like feel like you know I executed the calls um you know I knew what I was doing out there um you know it's just just got to be in better position sometimes um on on a few of those plays um be able to make a make a better play on those um you know but it's good good to get back out there and and you know kind of it' be it' be a good learning learning experience once I once I go watch this tapate did you get any feedback from the official on the illegal contact I did not no uh I think I just made contact with them too far down the field so you do you expect to play as much as you did today yeah yep yep that was that was a plan plan going into it I was feeling felt good you know so it's good to be last time you saw some game was last November you that your nerv been so long on fre out oh say nerves I think just more more excitement a lot of a lot of adrenaline run through me I was almost a little too excited going out there on that first drive um a lot of lot of heavy breathing you know but it's good to get out get out there people to rest up a other the veterans here that you've been leaning on who's been the guy You' been leaning on I think Reed read blank chip you know lean on him a lot um you know Lon Maddox slay um those guys really have helped a lot um you know whether it's in the film room or out on the field um it's it's good good to have those type of guys in the in our locker room in our about the speed of the game like how much adjust how much of an adjustment is that for you like early on just between yeah it was it was a little different um you know not not haven't played in so long you know it's still you got got that got a little rust you know got got to train your eyes a little bit back um you know to to where they were before you know so that'll it'll come with time you still still learning um you know it' be good to watch the tap with these coaches and you know see see where I can better how ready do you feel to contribute in 13 days if your name is called on defense yeah I feel like I mean I can feel like I ni to get all the calls um you know if I'm I'm out there um you know if my my name's called know my job is to be ready to go what no matter what position that is you said you couldn't wait what you notice about fighting through blocks yeah it was fun it was fun uh fun to you know to to play blocks um you know and kind of have that contact and competitiveness again um you know a few times you know got got tooo caught up in that um you know where I need to to fit fit things better um you know but that it's part of the learning process um you know so be fun to learn from that you got pre on it what looked like the second Blitz looks like they picked up the first what was that experience like yeah it was it was good you talking about that last one the last tfl yeah yeah I was I mean I was pretty much free they ran ran right into me so it was a good good little dial up feel R out of the tun the lake for the first time yeah it was awesome it was awesome um obviously it's it's preseason um so it's it's going to be a lot different when when the stadium is packed like it will in the regular season uh you know but it was it was cool to cool to be out there you know my my first NFL game can you give us an idea of what it's like to learn a bigio defense he's famous for his defenses at the N is it difficult is it tough to pick up uh there's a lot of lot of a lot of moving Parts uh I I wouldn't say it's um too difficult a lot a lot of things you know go together um some parts go together whether it's we're in our nickel or base um you know but you know you got got older guys who um you know who've been around the league and learn learn different defenses so it's good to have those guys around um you know and he's done he's done a great job to teaching as well your versatility that you have really help with that with all the kind of the moving parts I think so um you know it's feel like we got a lot of guys that are versatile you know he got Q you know he's he's been playing inside and outside as well um you know so it's good I think it's good to have guys in in any defense really you know that can they can play multiple positions we uh we saw that video that was released of the Frank call when you wased did you ever find out who that was no no I didn't it was no it was uh got about 30 of them somehow my number got leaked yeah you 30 prank calls during the DFT yeah yeah oh my God both days yeah so it it was quite a bit yeah it was crazy so when the phone kept ringing were you like here we go again is this going to be another prank call yeah I mean I I declined the declined the Eagles called twice before they called my agent Lu my agent was there so he he handed me the phone so yeah man yeah get Le I don't know I don't know I don't know it's crazy yeah wow know that thank you yeah appreciate man appreciate you guys being Nolan Smith out there man still showing you know I'm still the same person who I am and I love playing ball you ain't got to beg me to play or ask me to play so that's that's what I wanted to do for a dream just like if y'all wanted to be reported y'all die to get in the locker room soon as we already so why wouldn't it be the same when they come to playing ball how did you feel you did today oh I feel like I did great um I had some good rushes the ball was coming out fast it was one of them that I was real close just a tick closer and um you know you can't live with you can't worry about that you got to always play the next play though sorry if this was already asked but did all of the preseason action really help you oh yeah man it's always good to get to see stuff live get to see stuff going and um the more you see it when you see it the second time it's just quick nature it's just like that so that's why I always love playing football how much more comfortable have you gotten in Vex defense this whole process and these man I got really comfortable but it's mostly our scheme that I just like playing man our scheme how we play how we getting all firing out man and just using our hands and getting the play and have be loose you said you know you want to play moreb whatever did you request to play more yeah I wouldn't say that but man when it's time when it's time for three to go spin I ain't going to have no second down in my nature I'm W be ready to spin so what's the difference between those live reps and you know Nick was talking about tries to replicate them as best as possible if there's green practices but take us into man I tell anybody man practic is it's nothing like the game cuz you got to go out there and you think on your own and ain't no coach even on the side you still could hear people in practice but in that game you really can't hear nobody and it's you and your thoughts and see and see how you and see how you Kenny Pickett play yeah I think it was good it was it was good um you know wish we you know sorry protected the ball a little bit better um you know kind of sustain those drives I thought they did a good job of possessing the ball for a really long time um feel like we didn't have as many opportun opportunities as you usually would in you know a game uh first half like that but um overall I thought it was a good game how would you assess your Camp overall yeah that was a great camp for me I'm learning a new system learn a lot of new things um things that I haven't done at the NFL yet so um it was awesome to come here and uh you know compete against you know a great team like this and you know we got a great defense and um I think our coaches did an unbelievable job job of detailing the the installs and the system and everyone felt really confident what we're doing so um you know you know strong feeling that everybody in this room is prepared for the this season ah overall what's it like for an NFL player one cut down G right around the cor it's tough business man it's it never gets easier you become um it's crazy in five weeks you know a lot of these guys become really good friends of yours and you may never you know get a chance to play with him again or see him for a while so you know it's a tough business I'm just you know really appreciative of you know you know to be here and have a chance to experience you know this camp and be around these guys and um you know had a lot of fun so it's tough good thanks guys
