format unfortunately the football club I love and Waffle about every day did not win the Champions League in in its old format hopefully with the new format there's new beginnings and boy I don't necessarily believe we can win the champions league but I'd rather win the Champions League than the Prem so yeah it' be interesting to see who we get we all know there's two extra fixtures now in this new format and apologies to if you support Tottenham hot shy you know Manchester un that or Chelsea you not involved man it's cool though man only the best teams are involved in this human being play eight teams against eight sorry teams will play eight matches against eight different teams rather than three teams twice as was previously the case four extra clubs will be added to the number up to 36 and a single League format will be used the league phase will determine an overall ranking from first to 36th with three points for a win and one point for a draw as usual the top eight teams will advance to the last 16 with the 16 teams finishing between 9th and 24th entering the Playoff round over two legs so there's an even extra fixture within this with a victory secure and passage to the last 16 teams who finish 25th or below will be eliminated and will not drop into the Europa League so that will be the end of your European Adventure all eight matches will be played against eight different teams with four at home and four away organized by seeding apparently this is being done by computer we all know somehow Manchester City are going to get you know a bunch of nobodies with the greatest of respect to everyone um apparently teams will be seeded in four pots based on their individual Club coefficient at the begin of the season in Brackets The Only Exception being the Champions League title holder always top seed in pop one each team will then be drawn against two opponents from each pot one of which will be at home and one away in the league phase teams cannot face opponents from their country and can be drawn against a maximum of two sides from the same country all 36 teams will be manually drawn using physical balls so I thought it was computer for every team manually drawn a designated automated software will randomly draw eight opponents across the four pots so there we have it who will be revealed on screen in the draw Hall and on TV the software will also decide which matches will be played at home and which ones away as we know people you know in terms of the teams in it breast of France and breast hope that's how you pronounce it and Gena Manchester City's feeder Club will also be making their debutes you've got the Europa League winners in Atlanta here for Arsenal you've got Aston Villa Manchester City Liverpool and saving the best to got the 21st and the 22nd of January and then you've also got match day eight the final rounds on the 29th so it's said it's even bigger than I thought really knockout playoffs 31st of January so if we don't qualify automatically we've got to play a playoff so it starts off as two extra games and then it becomes even more condensed um out playoff rounds also will be played on the 11th 12th and 18th 19th of February round of 16 quarterfinal and semi-final draws will be on the 21th of February people uh the final will be taking place in Munich obviously in Germany where is this being shown
