Will Jackson Holliday Heat Back Up?

ladies and gentlemen Jackson holiday has arrived after an up and down 2024 season to this point for the future Superstar which saw him start the year in Triple A before being promoted to the majors for the first time back in April going two for 34 in said stint to start his career being demoted back down to triaa at the end of April and getting injured and missing a couple of weeks around a month ago Jackson holiday now finds himself back in the big leagues following the trade of Orioles second baseman Conor Norby to the Miami Marlins and after the injury of Orioles utility man Jorge Mato holiday didn't waste any time announcing himself back to the majors this time around builting a Grand Slam in his first game since being recalled as a matter of fact he 4 xed his RBI count on that one swing as holiday had just one run batted in in his entire first stint in the majors quite a way to make an entrance for yourself holiday earned a curtain call for his first home run that landed well onto Utah Street and it was no doubt about it blast just a question of whether or not it would stay Fair foul on top of that he nearly went deep again missing another three-run shot by mere inches on a liner that almost hit the left field foul pole at Camden Yard a great sight to see for the future Superstar who nearly had himself a s RBI day on his first day back this is such an encouraging sign to see for Jackson who has had a lot of Doubt thrown his way in the past few months with some calling him a bust already despite just being 20 years old while it's clear the Orioles should have left holiday down longer than they did back in April from a being ready standpoint I do feel that this experience certainly helped Jackson in his preparation for getting back up to the game's highest level he knew where pitchers were beating him what adjustments needed to be made and to his credit he made them in Triple A and now he gets another crack at the major leagues against the best pitching in the game while I don't expect holiday to come out and hit 300 right out of the gate I do certainly expect to see a more disciplined holiday than the one we saw back in April one that went down on strikes a staggering 54% of the time well at first upon his demotion back to Triple A holiday carried over some of those same struggles that we saw in the Major Leagues with some of the high strikeout numbers and inconsistent play over the past month month and a half however really dating back to a few weeks before his injury which put him on the shelf for a few weeks the bats have been a lot better his walk numbers have been insane really showing that he's made the adjustment to being able to lay off some of those close pitches and his Ops was over 900 in the month of July back in Triple A with Jorge Mato going down and Conor Norby being dealt at the deadline the path was cleared for Holiday to get another shot at the majors and I think that this was strategic from orio's general manager Mike Elias when it came to dealing Norby he really wanted to get holiday back up with a couple of months to go before the postseason to try to get him confident at the major league level and adjust to that major league pitching before the start of the playoffs and we should have seen it coming too a few weeks ago Mike Elias said that he did expect Jackson holiday to be a big part of what the Orioles are looking to do at the major league level in the second half of the Season well fast forward a few weeks and here we are with Jackson blasting his first career home run and with a clearcut shot to remain on this roster the rest of the season and headed into the playoffs if Hol can provide any kind of a lift to an Orioles offense that has already been amongst the best in baseball this season pitchers are going to have nightmares about having to go against this lineup down the stretch an important thing to note here for Jackson is now he is the guy at second base for the Orioles they're going to want to get him consistent every day at bats like they were down in triaa and the O's felt that now was the time for him to take that next step while the Orioles didn't go out and get any massive names at the trade deadline this can certainly be viewed as sort of a deadline acquisition to help bolster the lineup and that's what we've been seeing from the Orioles over the years last year Grayson Rodriguez came up around this time after struggling in the spring to start his career the Orioles have built a Juggernaut of a pipeline and they have the luxury of just continuing to pump out these gamechanging prospects year after year by holding on to Jackson holiday Kobe Mayo and Samuel baso their top three prospects they didn't mortgage their future to try and go out and get a scoble or a snell or a crochet now whether or not you think the Orioles did enough from a pitching standpoint that's a topic for another video but I do love the idea of holding on to those three top guys which they did in addition to Conor Norby going to Miami and the Jorge Mato injury the Orioles now face another lengthy absence for Jordan Westberg who has a right-hand fracture after being hit with a pitch in Wednesday afternoon's game against the Toronto Blue Jays this will further enhance holiday's playing time and solidify him as a member of the team who is here to stay for the the stretch run the Orioles are hoping that Jackson holiday will never take another at bat in Triple A he's in the major leagues to stay now and that's bad news for the
