Hannah & Lorna Take On The Curtis Cup 🏌️‍♀️🇬🇧🇮🇪

is Hannah somebody that you would like to team up with yeah yeah definitely no course I don't Lura Hannah heading for the Curtis cup Lura if I can start with you as the rookie out of the pairing here how excited are you with the Curtis cup at Sunningdale on the horizon yeah um I can't wait honestly um I feel like kind of the whole season has going of been a goal and I think to finally get it it just kind of it means a lot and yeah I'm just really looking forward to it yeah when did your mind turned towards Curtis cup was it maybe after the Scottish Women's Amateur did you think you were on track at that point um yeah I guess I just kind of had to kind of keep getting the results that I was getting and um yeah that was a good one to get the Scottish womans and then just kind of keep that going for the rest of the season and which I did so it was good yeah tell us about the phone call with Katrina Matthew when she when she got you to tell you the good news yeah well I was actually I was playing golf so I missed the first Fone call but um yeah I F her back and it was um yeah it was it was good news so it was it was really nice yeah it's good when you saw a number on your phone and realized Miss call what was through your mind well I was kind of just a we bit like oh no and then I kind of f it back and it was it was all good it was fine but um yeah call from the captain no I know not good start bad books already but no it was yeah it was fine you must be in the good books then Hannah because this is your third time at a Curtis cup so you know you played the first one at Conway 21 and then Mary in 20 yeah what have you learned from those two experiences that you can take into this one I think just like I think overall it's just a great week it's a great week to be part of obviously we've had two losses um but I mean a lot of great memories and I've had a great time with the girls that were on the teams uh but I think as well it's just a long week and you know obviously the singles on the last day is kind of when you want to peek so I think just keeping that in mind and uh I mean sun and Dale is going to be great and I think we've got a really good team this year so it should be exciting you play in a lot of events College events matches for Scotland big amateur championships how nerve-wracking is it standing in the first T C cup yeah I don't think I've ever felt more nervous than I did at the first at Conway my first uh I think I hit the opening t- shot actually um in that match and uh yeah I'd say I was a little bit younger then not quite as mature as I might be now um and I've definitely had a lot more experiences since then um so yeah it's definitely nervous but you kind of expect that you know you know you're going to be nervous so I think it's just accepting that and just hitting the best shot you can what would you say to the rookie to your right ahead of that ahead of that first day at sunning there uh I think just soak it all in um you know there's obviously going to be a lot of people there and it's very nice to play a home Curtis cup you know playing away was quite tough at times uh but home is going to be great and having all of our supporters and having all of our family and friends there is going to be great so just suck it in have fun that's really what I'd say so yeah Hannah we always talk about Ridder Cup solheim Cup teams having great camaraderie and that's one of you know Europe's strength what about GB and I is it the same feeling that is this bond that helps project the team to a new level yeah I'd say 100% I think uh like that's what I'd say over like the last two years I played the Curtis cup it's just been a great time you know we've just got on really well and I said the results didn't quite fall that fall our way but we've just had a really good time and I think it'll be the same you know this year's Curtis Cup team is quite similar to the vagano team that was played last year um and quite a lot of the girls are in that in this team too so it's going to be a similar week similar um kind of vibe I would say with the team so it should be good and we should have a good time laa have you thought about potential forams four ball Partners as as Hannah somebody that you would like to team up with yeah yes definitely no can I say no good don't feel too much pressure you can be honest um I haven't thought too much about it but I do I think yeah I mean it would be that would be great I think to have two Scots together it would be pretty cool but um yeah well wait and see Hannah we saw in the the rider cup that kind of Justin Rose was that experience figure for Bob McIntyre could could you be the Justin Rose for uh for laa in that situation yeah you never know I would say that to be honest I'd say that Lura has got enough experience under her belt for me to tell her anything um and I will just also add that she is older than me so it's I guess she'd be the older one that no but yeah I [Laughter] think um it's always nice to kind of know what's going on and you know certainly to answer any questions to any my teammates that um are unsure about anything but you know all seven of the other girls in the team have got on the team for a reason they've played their way there so I don't think they need really told anything um then yes him learner but as I said if I can be a Word of Wisdom at some point then I definitely will you've played a lot of college golf as well so you know the American team very well um any rivalries there that you're particularly looking forward to or are you all best of friends uh wouldn't say best of friends but definitely don't have anything against any of them uh just looking forward to it and play the like matches and good spirit and good sportsmanship that's what it's all about and you know I think that we really want to get that win against the Americans but I think at the end of the day just having fun and just enjoying the experience and letting the result take care of itself is the most important thing proud moment for Scotty golf it's a proud moment for your families been able to to watch you in these events learn out I mean from from your family's point of view I mean how how good would it be to have your mom and dad and other family members there cheer yeah um yeah there's going to be quite a few coming in I think um so that'll be quite nice I think it's just kind of that we bit The Pinnacle of the career it's just it's just nice to kind of have that and all the family be there as well so that' be good have you been able to keep your emotions in check in previous events Hannah with family and friends there is it difficult to to try and cope with that ER to be honest I think like we play a lot of events with family there and friends and especially like I play almost every week in America with a team there who almost feel like family so I think I'm kind of used to it now and used to the almost the pressures of them being there but to be honest at a Curtis cup the crowds are pretty big so you don't really actually get to see them very often but when you do it's nice to just look up and be have some familiarity um so yeah it'll be great to have them there we listen on behalf of Scottish golf and everybody in Scotland best of luck for the week at Sunningdale and uh bring home that trophy yeah know
