MLS Matchday 29 Preview I [Music] press that pause button because we're back on yes the BET USV MLS show is back after a month-long Hiatus as the leagues Cup played out but we're back with regular season major League Soccer action this weekend so the gang the crew the group is back together to give you winning plays of Plenty just nine more match weeks across the regular season of Major League Soccer and we'll be here for each and every one of them Gareth wheeler Bob vent miglia and Dan Alexander with you boys it's been a month 60 some OD transfers in the summer transfer window uh Lots happened four teams left in the League's cup um Bob how have you been spending the last month of your life it's been fantastic I've been very busy uh leagues cup my team made a very quick entrance and I kind of decided that I don't care very much about it anymore uh a lot of fans around Major League Soccer have decided that much earlier than I but uh spent some time with the Olympics went on my honeymoon spent some time in the Dominican Republic um pool with a drink in my hand and then came back and it was time to get my NFL cheat sheet in order you can go to Twitter Bob vbob V soccer and find a positional breakdown for uh tiered ranking if you are a fantasy football player we sted out every player in the whole NFL and then found out their points and uh you know put them in order for you so you can go take a look at that's what I've been doing in my last week and then up to Lake plid for the weekend and getting ready for that is a full schedule so much for summer vacation and Bob congratulations on that gold medal in Margarita drinking I was impressive performance down there at the Dominican Republic what about D you Dan can you top any that uh I've just been sitting here in this exact chair refreshing and just waiting for this link to go live so we can do MLS no I did a little uh trip back to the east coast back to the Homeland grab some Philly cheese steaks Gareth so I'm well fed well ready to go for the latter half I I'm pumped for it being back and I especially um you know just just focused in on uh on restarting league play here I think you're going to get some real wonky numbers just because there's going to be so much recency bias there's going to be so much factored into what these teams were doing before the break how much stock do you put into that so I think this show more than ever as we as we get back into league play uh it's going to be really important to be tuning in to these next few shows as we kind of Define who these teams are do we do we look at season long stuff do we throw it out that's where us three are going to purse through the data and figure out those uh those answers for you brilliant uh I can't wait let's get straight to it I won't bore you with my summer vacation I'm actually on vacation right now but I've actually hit a time out Alis by the Bell just for this show I got to hang out with these two guys so MLS Betting Record let's get straight to it U we're giving you plays from nine of the 12 games across Major League Soccer this week and this is where we left off a month ago look at that like Bob and I are tip toing our way around uh the the red line uh just a fraction of a unit below and Dan Alexander still uh carrying that flag for us uh plus 4.12 units thus far in our V made in Voyage I should say in right so it's the past Minnesota vs Seattle Game Preview let's look into the future and this week as Dan said there could be a lot of wonky or weird things that play out and we'll see what we know heading into this week starting off with Minnesota and Seattle two teams right on the C really in a battle for the uh for a playoff spot in the Western Conference Minnesota have been reeling out of leagues cup they won their final game but they hadn't won since June 1st before that final win on the final match day before leagues cup uh took over Major League Soccer they're look at this plus 155 on both sides of the equation here a pick them so a draw no bad plays at minus 115 um if you've been watching the show over recent months we weren't sure what kind of Seattle Sounders team that we would get especially early but they found their stride and showed a level of consistency here over the last month and a bit uh Bob let's start us off here what are you thinking here Minnesota plenty of changes for Eric Ramsay's side in the transfer window no team was more active in Seattle didn't make a move at all so are you going to kind of Veer to the side of consistency here knowing what we're going to get out of Seattle or is Minnesota a little bit of an X Factor heading into this one yep that that's the one I'm going with and when you look at Minnesota what really happened when they started slumping they were missing a lot of players to International Duty for a long time were never able to recover so I think the international break I'm treating it like you know a breath of fresh air for a lot of these teams and I think that's exactly what Minnesota had they were doing it with guys like alua hang Wan they went out and grabbed better attackers Kelvin yoa um yoin Pereira the young Argentinian um I I think that they're going to come out firing here they were in good form anyway um things are about to get interesting down the stretch they're going to have a new attacking identity Eric ramse finally had a transfer window to put his own ideas into what this roster looked like and I think that's good for a group that looked a little bit stale um after that International window see on the other hand I don't think not making any moves was the right move for them we thought they were going to go out and GAP some more Youth and depth they're looking better on Rak on the field that's not a player you can need uh have on the field day in and day out these are older guys Jordan Morris looked like he lost his step the r down Brothers even Jiao Polo is getting up there Pedro DEA has been the lone Youth and excitement for this squad one of the only creative players and I just don't think sitting standing Pat was the right move to make um they do have uh some recent good form and I don't think that that should be you know kind of thrown out but here you're getting the home team at plus 155 and I think in a bubble that's exactly where I want to go Minnesota is going to be fresher um the wonder wall is going to be energizing while maybe Seattle is you know maybe a little tired from some of those League Cup games they they don't have a young roster and this is a Prime Time game it's a 6:30 window so I want some investment and I think we're getting a great number with Minnesota United plus 155 is fantastic right uh I'm going to go on the other side of the equation here more so because I I think longterm you're bang on Bob I think that Minnesota have the ability to potentially finish ahead of Seattle here when all said and done but I think this week's week this week's a little bit tricky bringing in so many new players into the team and maybe changing the roles and chemistry within this Minnesota side so I'll take the devil I know and Seattle W on a nice little run in League's cup you know with wins over the Galaxy is in Pumas as well those are two notable results they just can't beat lafc but Minnesota certainly isn't lafc they lost 3-0 twice to them one was the final game of the MLS season before the break and they got eliminated in leagues Cup by the same score line as well other than that six wins and a loss for Seattle Sanders before the break other than that lone setback to lafc Seattle head-to-head with Minnesota no losses in seven had had six wins and a draw overall so they certainly had Minnesota's number and and and look Minnesota two wins and seven losses in their last 10 in all competitions and that only win came against San Jose I I just don't like so I need to see a whole lot more and s's being a decent enough Wayside the six best expected go differential per 90 minutes in Major League Soccer despite just the 42 and six record so their data indicates that maybe things should turn around inevitably that they're a better aways side than they've been actually performing I'm not going to go outright I'm going to protect myself a little bit with the draw no bet at minus 115 um anything to add Dan or we've kind of covered both sides of the equation here I think Minnesota could be a really interesting side coming down this stretch it's just I need to see it happen first before I'm going to make a play with them yeah and this is one of those cases of which team you know happened before the break and you know I feel like and and moving forward and it'll touch upon you know some of these games that we get on the teams who are really hot heading into the break I mean it can only hurt you potentially having a little bit of a layoff whereas as Bob said you know a team who just gets to have a breath of fresh air just gets to press the reset button that can only be viewed as a positive because it's not like for some of these teams you could be doing much worse than you were doing uh between the break spoiler alert I have a bet coming up on one of those teams that was the absolute worst before the break but no I I understand the side of both of them you guys will just have to go fist to cuffs against each other nothing for me in this one a pass for the reasons that you both stated you can make for both of these sides head to I like it go ahead go ahead Bob yeah Seattle with the pick them at minus5 that's good insurance I like that number too there's just a lot of numbers I like and I you know I pick the higher but I I think you have a good play there too it's is going to be a good game and we're going to get a lot of information compelling I mean it's one of those six pointers if your Seattle Sounders get a lot more comfortable in terms of your playoff positioning sitting seventh place in the Western Conference if you can sneak a win um but yeah two official plays Bob Minnesota moneyl plus 155 that's a nice number for a homeside and Seattle uh pickup at minus 115 let's move things Montreal vs New England Game Preview forward we're back on track we're back hit the like button everyone sub subscribe to bet USV the MLS show CF Montreal it's been a little bit of a turbulent time for CF Montreal they do take on the New England Revolution who just just they're missing so many players and based on what they did at the transfer in the transfer window they're very much looking forward to next season minus 105 if you want to back a Montreal win at home the revolution at plus 255 the total is set at 2 and a half uh first on CF Montreal Joseph Martinez is in the dog house he's being called out by his manager lauron ctoa saying well this wasn't the player that we thought we were getting based on his attitude it's completely changed from we to me according to the manager they trade away Ariel Lasser guess what CM Montreal go younger bringing Kaden Clark jaquille Marshall Ruddy this is CF Montreal's DNA looking forward rather than building a team with experienced players that are likely to make a true playoff push although there's still very much in the mix uh for New England Revolution uh look no Carlos Hill no Veron he's out they bring in Luca langoni but I I look at that he's going to play winner Winger and get a get a good chance to play some games for this revolution side but he has one goal in 25 games in 2024 um making the move from Brazil I mean those aren't great numbers the New England Revolution started a front four against New York City FC in the leagues cup knockout phase of Bobby wood uh Patu boang and harks yikes there's not much attacking punch there at all so I'm playing the under you get the drill CM Montreal and New England Revolution to play the under at plus 135 the reason why it's Juiced up like this is the two teams have combined to concede 96 goals on the season but they're playing one another they're coming out of a long break CM Montreal has traded away or attacking Talent is out of favor it's a much different looking side and see if Montreal in their last three at home went under with Montreal only scoring twice over the course of that span the Revolution have gone the under the total of two and a half in four in their last four games in all three games in the League's cup as well they DET trended away I should also mention Dean Jones who was a real attacking threat coming you know playing a left back left wing back role for this team now they're basically playing a flatb forward again it's all about next season positioning themselves to make some substantial moves building around the core of Ron and and Hill which they might be okay and on top of it all the Revolution have a 7.6 expected goals away from home with only 10 goals scored in 10 games that is the worst number in both of those categories across Major League Soccer so I think at plus 135 the under for me is the only way I can look at this game I you have to plug your nose if you're going to play a a you know a winner in this game uh but the total for me plus 135 it's too good to pass up in my opinion uh either of you Dan Bob have anything to add um was seef Montreal playing the revolution because I'm blocking in my official play under two and half at plus 135 yeah my only worry is that these defenses are not very good and maybe it doesn't take a lot of Firepower to take one of them down um Montreal I like the move they made grabbing Marshall rdy I think that's going to you know really serve him well yeah Dan anything no he he he touched upon it the under is gross the side is gross uh this game is just gross but the under makes the most sense even with those horrible defenses um and in this Charlotte and Red Bulls game that we'll touch upon I think unders might be at a uh a higher clip in this opening weekend as teams just kind of feel it out a little bit more um try and find their footing especially teams that have some new additions try and find where you fit in where you work on the pitch so I'm typically an over guy and I do have some overs coming up but I think you could be looking at some lower scoring games here than we typically expect in weekend action uh speaking of unders let's move into our next game because that's my Charlotte vs New York Game Preview lead that's my director to this one as well it's Charlotte taking on the Red Bulls of New York plus 130 if you want to back the Queen City they've been acted although charlot unable to land their top targets Kelvin stangs nope Miguel El nope pep Beal okay I mean it won't excite you but they brought in someone that could potentially help this attack for Charlotte no doubt they're back four and their goalkeeper Elite one of if not the best in Major League Soccer and to Bob vila's disappointment the Red Bulls didn't really add that number nine that they were screaming out for in this window as well which really kind of caps what looked to be a promising Red Bull season in the works now are you a little bit lethargic when it comes to the Red Bulls plus 190 if you want to back them here and the total is set once again at 2 and a half Bob I'll I'll give you the floor first because the red Bobs I mean you couldn't be happy what they kind of went through during the transfer window where they've ended up now no and to me it it's a total failure by the front office this wasn't a team who needed a long-term solution at the number nine they just needed a goal scorer they needed a body in the room who was competent on the ball um I it is going to be hard looking forward to the rest of the season because we did want that big name guy I understand not wanting to rush in you know put yourself in a bad situation with a long contract but there were guys out there there were guys we saw veteran you know guys guys moving around so try not to get too upset about it let's focus on this week um here we have two clubs that exited early from League's cup action maybe they're going to be a little rusty as I think uh Dan was alluding to earlier but they're going to do what they do best which is defend behind the ball um earlier this season they played a 3-1 match at Red Bull Arena that Red Bull won but they had a lot of leftover emotions from it from the playoffs what happened earlier uh the last season um here I think Advantage goes to Charlotte but I'd much more gladly take the under two and a half goals at minus 110 Charlotte they signed Tim re this transfer window upgraded by adding pep be as their number 10 um us left footed attacker from olympiakos I think he's going to do really well and I think Charlotte has positioned themselves to be a contender they're just half a tier underneath teams like Columbus lafc but I I do think they made themselves better um but that's not going to matter really this week they're not going to have the chemistry worked in they're going to be sloppy on the ball um both teams getting more defensive in the window Red Bull they did make a big transfer they did grab a new DP that is a player by Felipe carbo who is a defensive midfielder so they got even more defensive in a position that they've been strong um when I broke down the numbers it just made too much sense going minus 110 for the under of 2 and A2 Charlotte is seeing just 33% of their home matches go over two and a half goals if that's happening at a 33% rate of the over that means 66% of the time we go to the under what is special about this matchup that would push the under then to minus 110 those odds are too high this should be a minus 160 they should have pushed this to a goal and a half if you want to get an even number so for that reason we don't need anything special to happen we just need the trend to continue against two very defensive teams this could be a nil-nil draw and I I would absolutely love that minus 110 for the under of Two and a Half goals it just it's it's too simple the math makes sense and it it's it's a slam dunk all right what about you Dan like the only thing that I can you know I can weigh on why there's maybe money going to the over last time they played it was a 3-1 final Red Bull beat Charlotte but that's all I got so how are you reading this bot on uh I'm right with you guys I think we're going to be looking at a low-scoring affair here for so many of the reasons that Bob mentioned and if it's your first time tuning in here on the MLS show what I typically like to do is find angles with teams that I love betting on when the numbers make sense and if it ain't broke don't fix it and keep betting them and one of those that I found was the second half to be higher scoring in Red Bull games and that's where I'm going in this one yes I'm with you I think you could be looking at a game that you're seeing you know a goal maybe in or or a nil nil Affair sure but if there is scoring in this game I expect it to come in the second frame simply because as Bob kind of said you're going to have some feeling out process here early in the game and even if you just take out of the changes that these rosters have had even just form as a whole for both of these clubs is kind of punch counter punch don't throw any hay makers until the second half rolls around especially in the case of Charlotte if you go back 15 matches uh for this Charlotte side theyve failed to score in the first half of nine of them and they get it done in uh in the second half at basically the same clip and if you look at New York Red Bulls the angle of why I love doing this that second half higher scoring that was just a cash cow for me until the number didn't make sense there was a stretch where it wasn't cashing and that's when we lay off of it but then before the break cashed in in two straight I think we got a rock fight coming up here if we do get scoring expected to be here in the second frame so I'm taking the second half to be higher scoring because I only at delay minus 105 to do it that's the play for me I still think though it correlates with the underplay that I agree with both you guys on all right well yeah I'm rolling with Bobby V with the under here uh look pep Beal might be decent it might be an upgrade for Charlotte I need to see how it plays out because Beal didn't score with Augsburg on loan in seven games and no scored two in his last 20 for Olympiacos before making the move so I need to see what this front line Looks like I think there's still going to be strong defensively both teams went out of the League's cup early so there's been a prolonged layoff as well Charlotte didn't score in two games and the Red Bull just scored one Red Bull two goals and under in the last three away games they played and head-to-head both games and Charlotte hit under two and a half going to leave it at that under two and a half at minus 110 Great Value from where I said where Bobby V sits and Dan happens to agree as well but look at that three official plays locked in for Charlotte and the Red Bull coming up this weekend um the Marquee well yeah Miami vs Cincinnati Game Preview the Marquee fixture of the weekend it's inter Miami taking on FC Cincinnati remember last time these two sides played it was Cincinnati running Miami off the field to a score line of 6-1 it was just an absolute travesty it's Miami will be remembering that but it's still Miami with a fivepoint cushion to top the Eastern Conference scale Miami's on 53 Cincinnati's on 48 um Leo Messi still not playing for inter Miami but look at that minus 105 for the herens plus 225 if you want back Cincinnati the total in this one is set at three it's another fixture that all three of us have a play on Dan we'll start with you this time uh should be the I mean again it's the Marquee fixure of the weekend really looking forward to this uh what side are you on for this one I mean anytime you're able to get that Miami money line when it makes sense at plus money that's always something that I'm eyeing initially that's what I had written down but then I started breaking down this matchup a little bit more and why not grab the extra 35 cents with a correlated outcome and go with Miami to win and over one and a half goals the last time a Miami game didn't see two or more goals was back on May 19th yes I know there was a leagues cup but that's going pretty far back in the season and I think you also have a little bit of added motivation in this game for a Miami team who the last time these teams faced off it was kind of that come down to earth moment for Miami's be Squad the the moment where we all thought maybe the shoe was going to drop on these players definitely OV exceeding expectations it was not just a win it was a throttling for Cincinnati they win six1 so I think if Miami has a chance to run it up in this game they certainly will and they're issues on the back end be damned I think that there is going to be goals Galore um both because of the the fact that both of these teams are coming off this little break here I think that's why we're seeing some discounts on on some of these top teams like Miami coming out of the gate this is one of those situation so I think inner gets it back uh back into form with a win I think we see at least two goals in this one so over one and a half Miami to win a nice plus 135 and yes Bobby V I'm sorry I steal your thunder there a little bit but I'm sure you can eloquently add to some of what I have to think on this play because I really like this one I mean the thing I might even add is that we both had Miami win in over one and a half goals and that seems like it's too easy plus two and a half goals plus 180 like if we both think there's going to be goals Galore and neither both teams are going to score well you might as well go up to two and a half at plus 180 listen you you said it the best Cincy beat Miami 61 last time they faced but this is a different scenario we we're not getting points for those games we don't get points on those six goals they scored you know they Cy doesn't get to carry four of them over you know to this match um new day and you know I think Miami is a really good team the change had been a three-game winning streak before leagues cup leagues cup they looked awful their defense looked awful they were suspect at best putting allowing anyone to score but in those three home games before break inter Miami only allowed one goal in each of the those three games so I do think their defense is turning a corner in League's play a little bit and as for Cincy they made a deadline deal brought in Nicholas joini who scored 10 for St Louis last year I think him pairing up with Lucho Costa is going to be one of the best uh new Strikers in a new situation in Major League Soccer but I'm not betting on them to link up right away so maybe that's why I'm a little shy on the over on two and a half and why that's not my official play um could be a two- nothing one- nothing win probably unlikely so you know I want to turn it back to Gareth and and talk me out of it I mean why would it be over one and a half and not over two and a half well I I like the total I like over the total U my favorite play would be both teams to score uh in over two and a half but instead I'm just over the total of three in this one um Cincinnati wasn't just Chini they brought in a center back no wasm as well inter Miami brought in a good Center back that might solve some of their defensive issues in David Martinez again I need to see them before I know and there's certain teams like it was Brighton in the Premier League last season where like every time they played win or or win or lose it was both teams to score in over two and a half I feel like this is inter Miami this season they've being over two and a half in nine of their last 10 games and both teams of scor has played in nine of their last 10 games and both teams have score an over two and a half have played in their last 10 MLS fixtures so this is why you should go the over when inter Miami place they have 33 home goals and that in 13 games and that's the most in Major League Soccer and they've conceded 18 that's 51 goals have been scored when inter Miami plays home games between them and their opponent that averages 3.9 goals per game we just need to get over two and a half or three in this game Cincinnati same thing both teams the scorers played in four or five they've gone over 2 and a half in four or five both teams are scoring over 2 and a half in nine of their last 12 in Major League Soccer so they're scoring goals and conceding as well and neither is a clean sheet in their last three games so that's what I like by by the way Cincinnati in away games a total of 41 goals have being scored which is 3.4 per game so that's over the two and a half or three total in terms of what I'm betting on this one as well and head-to-head over two and a half has played in five of seven both teams score in five of seven Miami hasn't had a clean sheating against Cincinnati in seven and and and and it was 61 last time and I look for Miami to remember that heading into this game game which could play to a a high-scoring game as well it this is just the one game this week where I'm just looking at the total I'm saying absolutely yes slam dunk uh in this one so I'm just sticking with the total if if you guys both want to back Miami then that's fine over one and a half why not just stick it there but I wouldn't talk anyone if you really have that heavy of a lean to enter Miami go up to two and a half get a little bit of an extra juice because I can't see this being a low-scoring game anything else with you I feel like changing my bet I like why did we not all just take both teams to score an over two and a half because because when it lands when it lands Miami 2-0 you'll be like oh wait that's why or 3 n or 3 n or 3 n or 3 but then he gets his over two and a half anyway so and and you're getting more you're getting more juice just playing the over three than you are both team scoring two and a half the Market's being bet up so 45 cents it's huge I mean if if we were jumping up to like 210 I'm with you Bob but you know just from 135 to 180 you know you already got some nice plus money plays here in the barrel so uh don't don't get too greedy Bob yeah I like plus 135 I I I I love that play um I'm just sticking with the total so three official plays on the game of the week FC Cincinnati and Inter Miami uh Nashville is taking on Austin which won't be the game of the week but Nashville vs Austin Game Preview Dan Alexander has a play anyways uh nille a plus 115 had a very quiet transfer window as well Austin made some under the radar moves which could look to bolster their team right away out of the gate and both teams need to move and quick in terms of their playoff positioning both kind of dug themselves a whole Austin 10th place in the Western Conference and New England currently sitting in 12th Place so work to do an important game for both sides the total is set at two and a half Dan Alexander what do you like about this game and who do you like or what do you like well you know why not when you talk about Miami and Cincinnati just transition into another Marquee matchup right Nashville and Austin uh for me I I think it really just ends up you're getting a really nice price here because of reeny bias that you see with Nashville going two and done in the leagues cup coupled with the fact that this was the team that needed a reset more than anyone and they didn't really get it in that Le's cup because they looked kind of just as poor but it was six straight losses for this side heading into the Break um the the only spot I will say that Nashville has been somewhat bet on I say somewhat with a major little asterisk has been when they're at home four five and four but two of those losses were against a absolutely RedHot Orlando City team who would have beaten anybody in that spot and the class of the league that we were just talking about in in Miami so yes those were two losses but they were against two losses with some two teams with some class to him they're not playing the class of the League this week they're hosting an Austin team that as as uh Gareth said you know congrats had some under the radar moves that will bolster the team but it's still a team with just two Road wins seven losses in their 12 away fixtures they've scored six times I don't need an abacus to tell me that's not all that great gentlemen so you know like I said no one really needed a reset like Nashville they get it and then they get to start off uh you know getting back in here to league play against a team that at worst they are just as good as if not a bit better than him so the under in this gy game I think is a fine look don't get me wrong but I think I like fading the market in this one this was uh plus 105 it's now moved up to plus 115 give me Nashville money line outright that's the way we're going to do it at plus 115 and uh hold your nose and just watch a different game there's there the other ones I don't think I don't think Naval is a bad team there was obviously dysfunction with the manager at the beginning of the year he's being replaced just if any team was screaming out for Midfield help it was Nashville in Austin bringing in barari satov who's a center back desler a right back like some decent enough players like they could make a little bit of a push because it's been an absolute stinker of a season for Austin as well and it's a club that's able and willing to spend and I'm glad that they've done that but again just a wait and see watch and brief for me in this one Bob anything dad or are we just going to leave Dan on an island here gross we're going leave Dan on an island absolutely for this Austin did uh make some changes I didn't think they were going to but the the big move for them is Alexander spatto who's a center back to pair with Julio cascante who's been one of the best center backs in conaf for for for some time now we we we got a nice display of him dur during that tournament so I think that defense got a little better but the offense is just so bad their problem is dreussi just not remember supposed to be a good soccer player so for that there's just too many possibilities of like a z00 match here if I had like some insurance like a draw noet or something like that I can get on board with Nashville they are at home they're playing a very bad team uh I just don't want to have to be invested in this yep all right Dad have fun with it he's going to back Nashville at home plus 115 I agree it's a decent enough number I'm just not going to touch it I'll let you uh wager your money on available at the same time Orlando's gone in a nice little run as well to make up for what was a slow start for them you can get on their side with plus 160 the total set at 2 and a half but the over is heavily Juiced uh Bob you also have a play for this one I'll I'll let you go first what's your read on this one Sporting Kansas City and Orlando yeah it's going to be Orlando and they're just a better Squad I think Sporting Kansas City we were betting heavily against them before the break and I see no reason to change that um Orlando coming off three straight away wins scoring eight and only allowing two during that span they did underperform all season long but in a bubble they're the better team we have a little bit of a rest a little bit of a break and kind of a reset and we saw you know this makes me almost think of like uh the co cup the mls's back tournament where Orlando came they had a great roster and they after that reset some time off boom right back into it like nothing ever happened I think that that's where we're going to be and Sporting KC they're still a punching bag for me they're four four and five at home this season so four wins four draws five losses take the draws out you get your money back if that happens they're losing more games than they're winning by more than 10% so minus 110 for the draw no bet on or Orlando city I excuse me I believe it's uh minus 115 now and you know there there's really no other justification needed I just think it's a great bet and you're getting good odds for it Orlando are the better team no doubt about it they're now up to seventh place but they think they have a four-point cushion on the playoff spot like I I think they're pretty firmly a playoff team best news for them is Duncan Maguire State sounds like he signed a new contract as well and our guy L moral he's the second half of the Year player isn't he he better be to to make it worthwhile because he's being out sha by Romero Enrique the young Argentine six goals and six consecutive games before the nil-nil result then Orlando inevitably lost in penalties to cruzz to be eliminated in League's cup but Enrique looks to be the real deal leading the line now you have Maguire and Mariel coming off the bench so I'm liking the total in this one I like both teams to score in over two and a half Sporting Kansas City much like inter Miami they're just that both teams to score over team no clean sheet in their last nine over two and a half in five of six both team scorers played for Kansas City in eight of nine again like inter Miami 52 goals have been scored in their home games 264 26 conceded I mean that's an average of four goals per game scored in Kansas City home games that's ridiculous Orlando they've gone over in their last five away in MLS and both teams the score of played in four of five they have 45 goals in 13 away games it's three and a half goals per away game that they played and head toad back both teams of scores played in five of seven so I like this play I'm giving up a little bit of juice here but both teams have score over two and a half uh is my play in this one uh Dan anything to add here no I think you guys absolutely nailed it the the concern I have for Orlando is you know being so hot then going on a little bit of a break but um this one was just a cross off the board for me but I I see I see the looks for both of you guys in this one for sure yeah Muriel to score anytime is what's that plus 400 now what's I don't even know what it's at so like our show play we have to we have to play I guess so again let's hope for a big second half of the season two plays let's hope they both a two1 Orlando win would do the trick Orlando draw no bet both teams score over two and a half at minus 125 Real Salt Lake I mean they've lost Salt Lake vs San Jose Game Preview some significant power like they were active in this transfer window with significant players being sold overseas I wonder what that team's going to look like they take on San Jose and there's any team that you want to plays because how pathetic they've been despite Diego Luna like really showing up and showing out that he is the real deal for San Jose but plus 535 if you want to back San Jose outright a goal and a half I looked at that on the handicap and I really considered back in the Quakes here I just couldn't get there I just wonder with losing the players that they have whether Real Salt Lake will be able to maintain the pace they did bring in players as well of course Andreas Gomez was the big one $1 million plus add-ons that's a huge transfer uh in Major League Soccer Barz as well for $4 million but they bought Diego Gonzalez um and we'll see what he can do a major league soccer a lot of intrigue could be that like zel Ryan number 10 that turn that becomes transformative but with this much change I'm just not sure what you're left with so it's a watch and brief for me in this one Dan you you do have a play in this one Salt Lake against San Jose yeah and and I think you set it up perfectly for what I want to talk about here because should Real Salt Lake be the favorite in this one sure but with all the question marks of this team mineus 250 is wild so I'm right there with you like I looked at that handicap taking a goal and a half um you know does that mean that we're going to get a lows scoring game or does that mean that if San Jose is able to cover that you see it sitting there at minus 120 it's because they find the back of the net I think that's maybe the more likely side of this situation and yes RSL did stumble into the break but they also had their top player on a four game suspension and and that's finally um you know play played its way out so for San Jose um yeah you know they they fared I would say all things considered for how things have gone for this team they fared pretty well in the League's cup they at least made it to the knockout stage before for what happens against San Jose teams that can attack at a at a pretty strong clip they make you pay and that's what happened with lafc and I think that's likely what happens again but with all of that turnover I just think that this might be a little bit closer than some people expect it to be so right out of the break I don't want a freak result leaving me with the losing ticket because I was initially looking at getting uh RI Salt Lake and both teams to score to ice plus 10 five but then I just looked at all of those changes and what Gareth talked about and rather I would give myself a little bit more of a backup and say both teams to score and no draw and I'm almost losing out on any of the plus money you can find in this one but I just think this matchup also plays to it you would have to go back four fixtures all the way to 2022 the last time that this matchup didn't have both teams score and then before that you have to go back all the way to 2020 another four matches that both teams didn't so for whatever reason um you know whatever the roster is San Jose when they face off against Ral Salt Lake you kind of see their best soccer played out there so if you're not a chicken go with RI Salt Lake uh and both teams to score at plus 105 but for the show purposes I'm going both teams to score and no draw minus 110 is going to be the play for me I mean yeah Bob I'm looking at the total the total set of three and a half in this game like yeah I think you guys are absolutely outside of your minds thinking that RSL is taking a step back I do not see that at all and I'm lucky enough to co-host my own Major League Soccer show with an RSL fan so I got like some Insider news on what's going on here F fan Andre Julio 13 goals seven assists that's really what we're worried about it's 20 goals in 22 games but if you take one game one goal in this match away from RSL do they still beat San Jose yes and they do it easily I think that you are you know moving Anderson Julio over who's what like a eight or nine goal contributor so far this season he's going to fill into that spot and do it not as well maybe even being half as productive but uh Diego Gonzalez at the number 10 this position has not had a number 10 this team hasn't had a true number 10 in a long time so if he brings any offensive production at all RSL maybe took like an eighth of a step back but with position um depth other places they added um I think that they are absolutely primed for win here RSL and both teams to score at plus 105 I think that's the best play cuz you're getting the best number at it um I I don't think this should be you know too complicated and and I'm just going to take that I think RSL has they they had to make a big sale they they made a lot on it and I think they got a great number um Andre Gomez in Ren is going to be a spectacular player to to to you know all I know I just I have to take Rell I they haven't taken that big of a step back I know there's going to be question marks but Chicho Rango still there Luna's still there they have a great have a defense who's outplayed what they should have been expected to do so I'm going to take that I'm going to do a live bet RSL and both teams score plus 105 wow a l play Bob's coming in I mean you know me I love my bets and I love being San Jose I I know it's San Jose but three and a half coming off a break seems nuts to me like three and a half is a huge total in this game I might have to come in with they get like that three and a it it almost factors in that like the both teams to score is live you know what I mean yeah we could see RSL thump them 4-0 but if they're up 3-0 then you know probably they slack off a little bit on the back end so I don't that both teams to score just just screams off the page so whether you're getting the plus 105 or not I I mean Bob did my handicap for me and he just said I actually will say that that RSL will win so scare money make no seen as a difficult window for Atlanta United they bring in um moruk but that's about it they lost Almeida they lost Wy it's a team that's going to have plenty of room to maneuver in the in the off season but for now I mean look at the Galaxy Ed welcome Marco Roy the 34-year-old former player with brucia Dortmund lands and it looks like he will be available this weekend I'd be surprised if he plays from the get-go but there we are minus 135 for an outright win I I think there's some value in that the handicap is at 75 and the total is at three and a half um just give me the Galaxy on the spread here thank you very much I'd even take that up to a full goal but I'll take uh 75 at minus 115 I'm fine with that cuz I think there could be a multi-goal victory here by the Galaxy because I think that Atlanta United are going to struggle here especially going to the Galaxy where they're very good at home the Galaxy overall seven wins and three losses in their last 10 the losses came at Seattle in League's cup at FC Dallas a place where they always have trouble and they lost at the Rose Bowl against lafc other than that seven wins over the course of those last 10 games 93 and one at home overall The Joint second most goals scored at home at 31 won the second best home expected goals with 28.5 Atlanta won one and six in their last eight games and two four- six away from home and they've just scored 10 in 12 away fixtures really good home team with a bad away team one team that's going to be bolstered by a big addition in Roy another side has lost some of their best and top players uh one team looking at a potential MLS Cup this year perhaps maybe as an outside in the Galaxy Atlanta United are looking to 2025 no doubt I I'm actually surprised that the line is where it is and that you can get value I'd even play the Galaxy on the money line at minus 135 I think there's value there as well uh Bob what do you make of it Marco Roy is he gonna take MLS by storm I I think it could be a really effective addition to this galaxy side I think so too and you know galaxy has a high volume offense yalich has been so good because he has so many chances so many high percentage chances and he hasn't been the most clinical player he wouldn't tell that from looking at his numbers because he still ends up with a high goal total in these matches Atlanta is one of those teams I really don't want to touch and the reason I'm staying off of this game is because Atlanta has two very good Wingers in zand Silva and seba lud Zen who are waiting to turn it on and I don't know what is going to take but I do know what they had and we were making Thiago alada and Giorgio yakam makz out to be something that they weren't yakam makas five goals one assist very short season for him uh tho alamada has had every chance and when he came back from winning the World Cup we said he's going to light MLS on fire 16 matches and one assist over that time that's not enough from someone who paid millions and millions of dollars to come to your squad and then was sold for even more so I think both of these teams have a chance of coming out with a new formation some new offensive ideas and I'm not 100% sold that it has happens right away this week and there's enough questions Atlanta uh we've said I mean the first 15 weeks we said this this roster is too talented to be where they are and I I just can't get behind it I want to see it I think you have a great pick you gave great reasons and I think that that's the most likely outcome and I'm going to let you uh buy me that information this weekend I I people are still high on them like going for over 20 million uh in the win I mean he was destined to go I'm actually surprised he stayed in Atlanta this long but it certainly isn't about his play it's about his potential right um exactly that's what that's what it's about so but still a loss a thin squad for me gets a little bit thinner and they lack Dynamic players in their team um yeah so Galaxy at home you good with that Dan you don't want to yeah yeah all good with me I did have a question uh we saw in the chat there Adam was asking do we think Marco Reyes is going to be ready and playing in this game I I defer to I feel like if any body knows that answer it would be it would be Bob you you think you're gonna see him or no flip your guess is this is MLS I think he starts I think I think I think he'll play Off the Bench of course he'll play Off the Bench they love being at home they're not going to wait for an away game to Premier their new player he's going to see the field it may just be hey running at the net a couple times you know without any you know Rhyme or Reason behind it but you got a great you know rookie PUO is a great distributor he'll take all the dribbling duties away from everyone on the team and you have two super super Speedy Wingers I think that it's going to be uh very obvious what his job is and that's uh standing in front of the net and uh pick up the scraps and I think that he could do that very well Marco Royce we've seen him play um you know we've seen him drop back and play too I mean he's he's such an electric player uh I I think it's going to be great and yes they are going to premere their player at home he will have a kid on he will see the last five minutes so that he can take the Applause and uh you know bring it into the next weekend but but yeah he did a press conference earlier this week and based upon experience this is the type of player that Greg vany loves it reminds me of like an even better version of Victor Vasquez that he had at TFC that completely unlocked that team and took them to the next level so I think it's a really good fit Marco Roy going to the Galaxy so one official play I'm back in the Galaxy again I I find just betting them out right at minus 135 and F taking it up to a goal in this one will'll just stick with the spread at minus 115 the Portland vs St. Louis Game Preview final match that we'll be looking at here the Portland Timbers taking on St Louis they traded away virtually all of their players but they're still a team St Louis it's a little bit of a Redux typically you see expansion teams do this year one but St Louis was so good that they've made all kinds of changes here year two so this is the true reset for St Louis they're taking on a Portland Timbers team who are certainly On The Rise and as long as Chara's legs stay fully fit it's a team that's going to be a scary team to play against coming down the stretch uh Portland the favorite here no surprise the total set at 3 and a half immediately when it comes to a Portland St Louis game Bob I looked at the total three and a half I'm not going to go there but what do you make of this game yeah I'm taking Portland and the over of Two and a Half goals and I'm getting it at plus 105 here we have the Portland Timbers mostly unchange since the transfer window they were in great form before the break and you know they have the ninth Best Home Advantage in major League soccer six-1 in their last seven home matches beating some good teams like RSL and Vancouver Portland has seen over 1 and a half goals in 100% of their home matches that was my original play but I said no if I can make some more money let's bring that up even more so I had to bring it up to over two and a half goals which sits at a better number plus 105 they're still seeing over two and a half goals in 92% of their home matches which is just as good as 100% for me for betting purposes St Louis is going to be a wild card you're right on that little strange to me how they are the only team who treated it like a European summer transfer window and just got uh nine incoming players six outgoing players in just this window I think at least four of those are going to slot in as starters we saw T and har uh off to a good start already hardel behind him so they revamped that attack strange to me that they have an interm head coach and they're making all these roster changes I I expecting that if you know maybe John hackworth is going to be the guy but you don't usually see an interm head coach get you know to to have this much effect on a roster that was stale and needed an overhaul um twitcher good goal scorer across Germany now teaming up with J Claus up top um I like that this could be one of the best attacks in St Louis city that we've seen I just got to take my boys in Portland let's like let's not overthink this they score a lot of goals they're going to win at home um and you know that that's that put put a cap on the week I I you know I like the odds we're getting Portland in over two and a half which happens 92% of the time plus 105 uh the in the chat Rodriguez anytime to score I like that I think that he's been excellent for the Portland Timbers like hardel Simon beter back in Major League Soccer horn Jackson U Tim Parker goes out Henry Kessler comes like there's so much movement again St Louis these are moves more for next season like this isn't for this season that's why an inform Portland side playing at home build that Phil Neville statue Dan Alexander if it hasn't been built already th this this team is going to be a pain to play against coming down the stretch yeah a th% and and you know it's almost like if you think about they were dead in the water it's like house money at this point it's kind of like win one for the Gipper that they have going on over there which is always a team that you have to worry about down the stretch I'm just you know I'm playing like my Taps my sad little violin because I think the days of me getting to bet Portland to win either half at nice plus money prices is is long gone so I'm going to I'm going to pour some out for uh for one of my favorite bets this year but it was fun we'll always remember the times we had Portland but it's going to be hard to find spots to bet on Portland where you're getting some nice plus money moving forward for a lot of the reasons you guys mentioned it's it's going to have to be away from home uh if anything uh we'll see what that looks just I don't even know what what form they're going to come out with no that's that's a thing like tashai has being like a real standout story real positive story for Canadian soccer I'm I'm I'm I'm Canadian um is he going to lose his spot leading the line for this team like who's going to be out who's going to be in seems like they prefer to bring Pooky Off the Bench he's not starting um you know araga really useful player he's gone on in left Minnesota so I I got to see what this picture is going to look like so we'll keep our eye on him Alejandro and we'll get back to you based upon his performances here on the stretch run of the Season uh Ura anything on League's Cup matches we've been watching kind of not many people have been watching but the tournament's still being played I I do think the two best teams in Major League Soccer are still alive and itd be surprised if Bon weren't in the final Columbus Crew uh take on Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night it's lafc they take on Colorado Rapids big blow for this tournament in Major League Soccer not a Liga MX side still alive in this tournament it's the start of their season it's kind of the reverse of Champions League or Champions Cup which always plays against um MLS sides because it's the start of the season but I I mean it's it's Columbus or it's LFC to me I just it's been a nice little bounce back from the Union uh they play much better football but I mean Columbus Crew for me is the best team in major league soccer but lafc just haded Olivier jaru and look like they can play with anyone in this league on any given day uh Bob what do you make of League's cup any bets any Wagers any Fields yes and I'm trying to pull it up right now me and Dan had a uh two two Team play that would have been a three- team play because I know we could have talked you into it and it it had something to do with Philadelphia losing in the over on both matches I'm gonna pull up right now I'm actually the sports book yeah please do no I it was it was the Phil because when we got our sheet this game was listed on I was like I'm pretty sure that one's in the League's cup but if they wanted to talk about it you know I'm going to be betting Philadelphia Union both teams to score no draw I mean that's that's the money maker whenever they're facing off against MLS teams it cashed in this tournament against FC Cincinnati um it was against the Liga MX teams that it was really those stalwarts where it was one-1 draws but both teams did score so I think the parlay piece is both teams to score in this one I think uh like like gar said I think ultimately you see the Columbus Crew as as favorites in this oneus 190 for a reason but I don't think Philadelphia Union now they're actually playing some football go away quietly so both teams to score would be the piece that I would be throwing in there but you can't bet it alone sitting at minus 180 I just don't like eating that kind of juice so both teams to score no draw but uh both teams to score with Columbus Crew to win I don't hate either yeah and I'm taking a crew and both teams to score at plus 150 that's just a spectacular number yeah it's a great bet uh Philadelphia did nothing to deser the odds that they got on this match and although we can't bet it this week I believe if I'm not mistaken I think crew host Philadelphia next Wednesday like that's a catch-up game so although we can't bet it today we might be able to bet it next Tuesday with exactly the same bets it's were they were supposed to play this weekend and that and that game got pushed and I believe it was crew away each other yeah yeah and and you could have ADD like crew at plus money in that game too I mean that that was that's why I was kind of disappointed that the game actually got bumped for a League's Cup game and Cup games are a little bit different just in terms of the way they play out but uh any crew any I look nice run by Colorado um they've gone and traded Moyes bombo he's gone to nice in a 7 million plus dollar deal they still have maxo and a bacard playing Center back they're fine but they lack a little bit of uh depth and speed and physicality in the back by losing a player like bombo so uh be decent enough semi-finals we'll see but lafc Columbus that would be a watchable final rematch of MLS Cup Adam is Miguel El actually coming to MLS or back to MLS or was that dead in the water it seemed like it was a thing or at least a rep reputable sources reporting that El Maron was in talks to come back I think a lot of this has to do with Newcastle as well because they had some um some Financial hurt that they needed to overcome in order to you know you fit with the financial fair play uh the PSR um and I think that alaron could be used as a make weight in order to um to comply a little bit more and I don't think alaron is against coming back to Major League Soccer so I'd file that away for a potential potentially is a future thing but it's not going to happen this window with the window closed so but I mean the natural fit and honestly Atlanta United need a player like El Moran and they're gonna have they're they're gonna have the need next year so would Atlanta United go back there or is their model still buy a little bit younger than try to keep that sell on value to then sell that player out I'd love to see El back in Major League Soccer I I think he's a fantastic player he was great when he was here he's been great for the Premier League in Newcastle as well so I mean if Charlotte would have picked him up that would have been an absolute coup let's put it that way um any other thoughts on that guys or should we wrap things up for this week we hour SE land down there they would not have liked Al Marone going to a uh close uh arrival I would have loved to see that alaron 30 years old I think that Atlanta would make that move in the future because although they like going young and selling off they did alaron first of all they did him right they let him go when it was time they sold him to a team that was going to play him and Atlanta this team likes to make keep their fans happy and if that's what we can do um I think that they would do it as long as the price is right I think that that reunion would absolutely happen by the way I still think he's a premier league player whether it's with Newcastle or somewhere else I still think he's good enough and he's still at a good age so we'll see what happens that certainly was one that cut the eye and ear over the course of the summer transfer window let's review our picks this week actually guys I'm surprised how many picks that we had for this week MLS Best Bets dealing and addressing the unknown coming off this leagues cup layoff but seven bets for me six for Bob and five for Den this week this might be a record for Collective bets made in a week I mean I've almost got there myself at times on the season but uh good team unit plays here uh Dan
