Intro Formula 1 has announced the calendar for 2024 there will be 24 races starting in Bahrain on March 2nd and finishing in Abu Dhabi on December 8th in this video we will look through the calendar and identify some of the major changes that are going to be made in 2024 let's get started Saturday races there will be three Saturday races in the 2024 calendar Bahrain Saudi Arabia and Las Vegas the concept of racing on Saturdays very new to Formula 1 typically we imagine Sunday to be race day and Saturday to be qualifying day what's the reason for this change the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was shifted forward 24 hours due to the Muslim holy period of Ramadan which begins on Sunday March 10th this caused the Bahrain Grand Prix to be also pushed forward by 24 hours due to logistical challenges if F1 raced in Bahrain on Sunday then it would be too difficult to get all the equipment to Saudi Arabia by Thursday to start the free practice sessions the Las Vegas Grand Prix which is set to debut as a Saturday night race in 2023 will remain a Saturday night race in 2024 record 24 race schedule Calendar Formula 1 will feature 24 races in 2024 which is the most ever in the history of the sport with coid 19 in the rear view mirror China is set to make its first appearance on the F1 calendar since 2019 the calendar will feature three major breaks the traditional 3-we summer break will remain in August a 3-we pause has been added between the Singapore and Austin Grand PRI and a two-e breather between Brazil and Las Vegas Formula 1 has made clear its intentions to move towards greater calendar reorganization reducing logistical burdens and making the season more sustainable in addition to the three breaks the Japanese Grand Prix has been moved to April the race in Baku which used to take place early in the season has been shifted to September and Qatar and Abu Dhabi are now back to back this modified calendar creat creates a better flow of races in certain regions and reduces carbon footprint and unnecessary travel now let's quickly look at the full calendar Full Calendar the month of March features three races Bahrain Saudi Arabia and Australia in April F1 goes to Japan and China notice the calendar reorganization here by going through Japan F1 reduces logistical challenges in May The Show Goes to Miami for the first Grand Prix in the US drivers then head back to Italy and then Monaco in June Formula 1 returns to North America with a race in Canada then drivers head back to Europe for races in Spain and Austria in July the sport remains in Europe with races in the UK Hungary and Belgium this is followed by a 3-week summer break and a race in the Netherlands in August in September the racing begins in Italy and then shifts East to azerbijan and Singapore following a 3-we break the drivers again Head West with races in the USA and Mexico in October in November there will be two races in Brazil and then in Las Vegas after a 2-we break the season will be wrapped up with races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi in December this 24 race schedule should make for one of the most exciting seasons in the history of Formula 1 hope this video helped you learn about the 2024 F1 race schedule thanks for watching make sure to like this video and consider subscribing to the channel for more great Formula 1 content
