Keenan Allen is NOT Fat + Bears vs Chiefs Pregame Preview

[Music] the Chicago Bears have their final game of the preseason this Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs the defending champions in Kansas City what should we look out for in this game watch us video to hear my thoughts what's going on guys I'm back with n Chicago Bears pre game prediction video which I'll be doing before every single Bears game this year this video is sponsored by bet us Sports Casino more on them later in this video but I thought I combined this pregame video with some practice updates as well because there have been some notable practice updates I do want to talk about that I have not made a video on yet and my pregame analysis for this upcoming game is going to be pretty short because starters will not be playing according to coach IUS he just stated recently that the majority of the starters will not be playing including Caleb Williams so if qb1 is not playing obviously a lot of people will not even be caring to watch this game I still would be watching a lot of Bears fans still will be watching because you know we still like to see the backups and what's happening with them but it's not going to be a very you know highly anticipated game because a lot of guys doesn't matter are just simply not going to be playing in this game I believe on both sides I think the Chiefs also will not be playing their starters because it's a short week and you don't want to play starters in a meaningless game on a short week and risk their health so I know some Bears fans may be a little bit pissed about that they probably wanted Caleb to play just to have another opportunity to get better to get up to speed to the NFL game and he is R quarterback so these reps would have been beneficial for sure against a top team but I think the risk definitely outweighs a reward in the situation because the starters played for a full half of football in the last game they were not supposed to play for that long they only stayed out that long because they struggled to get things going at the beginning of the game so they played a lot longer than anticipated and on a short week you know against a really good defense although it's going to be backups probably from the Kansas City Chiefs on defense I agree with the decision to not play starters because week one is only 19 days away I know this seems like a long time but those 19 days are going to fly by so you know good to get everybody healthy for week one and not risk their health but I do want to talk about some practice updates that have you know been happening in the last couple practices today is actually the final day of practice being open to the public so after today we're not even going to get really any reports at all um for the most part and the team is just going to be getting ready for week one so this probably will be my final you know practice updates per se and you know talking about some of the injury updates Kiran amaji or third round pick actually returned to practice a couple days ago he was activated off the nonf football injury list and he's practicing fully in pads now I believe he should get some playing time in the upcoming game if he is ready or maybe not because it's only been a couple days of practice so I'm not really sure what they're going to do with him in the upcoming game it would be cool to see him get some playing time but if he he's not fully ready that's totally fine as well he was recovering from a surgery he had at the end of last college football season which they were just being cautious with because there's no reason to really Rush him you know being a third round pick and being that he is a backup on this team but it's going to be cool to see him you know back in practice and really developing his technique because a lot of people are very high on Kiran magaji he a local product he went to Hinsdale Central he went to college at Yale and had a pretty successful college career and not sure where he fits in the Bears long term I think he is still suited best to play tackle you know backing up at left tackle or right tackle but I have seen some people suggest moving him inside to guard which who knows maybe that could work out right Nate Davis is a liability often times I know he's been returning to practice and you know did play in the last game so Nate Davis is looking better now in terms of being on the football field but we know he can go out in any second okay he did not have a good 2023 season so if Nate Davis is still a little bit unreliable um if you want to develop this guy to maybe be a long-term solution at at guard could be a possibility I'm not really sure you know what he brings to the guard position in the NFL we're going to have to see him play football we have not seen him play football at the NFL level up to this point but regardless it's good to get a high draft pick okay a top 100 pick back on the offensive line for some much needed depth because you can never have enough depth on the offensive line so you know good to see Kanan magaji back at practice jquan brisker also returned to practice good to see him back um he also missed a couple weeks of practice but he seems like he's fully healthy now Kevin Bard actually did miss practice today and also the last game I believe he missed due to some minor injury but according to Matt eus this should not be a problem he should be returning back and should be healthy for week one which is pretty awesome but yeah overall the Bears are pretty healthy right now knock on wood okay don't want to jinx anything but the Bears you know so far a lot of the guys that were injured have came back and we don't have any major injuries right now so good to see that but talking about some practice updates okay I do want to talk about Keenan Al absolutely destroying the Bears cornerbacks at practice yesterday because I'm not sure how much you guys are on Twitter but recently it became a big thing even amongst National NFL accounts especially after the last game that Keenan now apparently looks fat and slow this year even jto Sullivan the QB School talked about Keenan Allen running his routes a little bit slowly which I agree with him on that Keenan definitely looked like he was not going full speed on those but it is pre-season okay a lot of especially veterans Don't Go full speed in pre-season but some of their accounts on Twitter were bringing up pictures of Keenan n in in practice and training camp and showing him supposedly looking a lot bigger a lot chunkier Albert Brier wrote an article where he speculated that Keenan Allen's weight is 230 lbs right now I'm not sure where he got the information from I it seemed like he was just guessing on that and kind of eyeballing what he looked like from far away which I think is a little bit irresponsible if you don't have the information you know concrete but yeah a lot of people you know a lot of opposing fans have been talking about Keenan being washed up fat and slow but I think this whole thing is very stupid it's a big preseason overreaction because first of all Keenan n has never won with his speed okay Keenan n has always won with his route running and his savviness in terms of getting open okay it's not always been straight line speed that's been one of the knocks on him that he's not the fastest guy in the world but he's still racks up a thousand plus yards every single season so I'm not really worried about him not being as fast as some of the other guys on the football field but in terms of him being fat and overweight I don't see it okay I'll put a picture of him on the screen right now but he does not look that much different than he looked last year in training camp for the LA Chargers and if you guys have been watching him in training camp he's been dominating practice he's had multiple practices where he's been going off and being you know Caleb's favorite Target to throw to against our really good defense you know today in practice or sorry yesterday Kean Allen actually dominated the whole practice and scored three touchdowns according to Mark Roy said that it seemed like the plan and practice for today for the Bears has been Keenan down he's been targeted a ton today and has three touchdown grabs and I put a video of on the screen right now but you guys can see like he does not look slow or washed up I know it's only practice footage and yes the last preseason game he was not running the hardest maybe not going as full 100% but I don't really expect a 32-year-old veteran receiver who's dominated the regular season to be going 100% in the preseason okay he usually would not even be playing in the preseason I don't think he played in the preseason for the last four years he only played this year because he's going to be with a rookie quarterback and ebra wanted him to play but like I'm not worried about him not being a good receiver anymore last year he had 1,243 receiving yards seven receiving touchdowns like we're just making stuff out of nowhere you know when we're talking about Kean Allen being washed up he is definitely not washed up I'm expecting a big season out of him and hopefully you know we see him connecting with Caleb a lot of times when the games actually matter but yeah it was a good day by Keenan yesterday it was also a great day by Kyler Gordon as well ever since Kyler Gordon came back from his injury he's been having fantastic practices the last game he looked really good he had a sack he had a you know really good pbu and he was all over the football field yesterday in practice Accord to Mark Roy Caleb got intercepted twice by Kyler Gordon Once In The End Zone the other was deflected it was actually deflected by Javon Dexter I saw in a different tweet but yeah really good day out of kylo Gordon his ability to you know make the ball go the other way is what makes him so special he is a playmaking cornerback and a very explosive athlete as well I mean he is crazy jumping leaping ability he can you know shoot out of a cannon on these blitzes which is going to make him so deadly in this scheme this upcoming season so expecting a big big season out of Ky Gordon good to see him back and fully healthy but before I get into my game preview for the chief game I do want to talk about the sponsor of this video really going to end up mattering but talking about some of the big storylines so I am going to be pretty interested to see how the backup quarterbacks do in this game specifically Tyson bent because I still do think he's going to be the primary backup behind Caleb Williams coming up this season and this may be his last opportunity to play the entire year unless Caleb Gets Hurt which hopefully doesn't happen but historically speaking you know most rookie quarterbacks do not play a full 17 games most of them do miss at least a couple games due to some minor injury right so you know if Tyson does have to come in the season and play at any point this game this preseason game is going to be pretty important for him to just continue getting better as a quarterback okay the only thing that can really make you better as a quarterback as a football player in general is reps okay getting more and more reps and unfortunately as a backup quarterback you do not get the opportunity to get very many reps so it's going to be very important for Tyson be to you know go out here make the best out of the Reps that he can and you know have a strong performance like he had in the last game against Cincinnati Bengals he had multiple really accurate throws to Dante Pettis in the last game I want to see that connection continue so you know hopefully Tyson has a good game um the backup quarterbacks Brett rippen and Austin Reed also should be getting some playing time in this game Austin Reed is most definitely going to be cut after this training camp which it sucks to say that he's a fun guy fun story to root for but there is no chance he's going to be making the Bears final 53 man roster I think Brett rippen should make it because he is the veteran in this QB room so hopefully Brett rippen has a pretty good game talking about the rest of the Bears backups that are going to be playing on offense I am curious to see how some of the running backs do like Ian wheeler if he gets much playing time in this one he's been having a strong training camp in preseason if he wants a chance to make the Bears roster he's going to have to have another strong performance in this game although it's most likely that he going to be caught in becoming back on practice squad you know because that's how these things go usually and the Bears already have three running backs ahead of him and veis Jones also is a running back now apparently right so going to be tough for Ian Willer to make the roster but hopefully he has another strong game hopefully the backup offensive line also has a pretty good performance I'm curious to see if Nate Davis does play in this game because iberu said that most starters will not be playing he did not say that all starters will not be playing so maybe because Nate Davis missed so much practice he could play in this game which I would be a fan of that happening he needs to get more reps to really get ready for the regular season but we'll see what happens with him if he does not play um Ryan Bates has been dealing with injury but you know jari Carter might play at guard and hopefully we see good stuff out of him and all the backup offensive linemen because you need your backups on the offensive line to be good and ready cuz injuries happen all the time on the offensive line but going over to the defense I'm mostly curious to see how the edge rushers do in this game specifically Austin Booker Austin Booker should be getting a of snaps in this game and I want to see him go out for another two 2.5 sack game like he had earlier in the preseason okay he has the potential to be a really good Edge rusher if the Bears can develop him our defensive coordinator Eric Washington has the reputation for developing strong Talent on the dline so hopefully Austin Booker can be one of those I want to see good play out of Dominique Robinson if Dom Rob wants to make the team now is one of his last chances to put on some production because he has been very bad for the Bears in regular season snaps so you know now is the time to really prove yourself guys like Daniel Hardy Daniel Hardy has been having a fantastic preseason I want to see him go off again and really claim a spot on the Bears 53 Main roster but as for my score prediction hudo have actually winning this game I have the Kansas City Chiefs winning this game by a score of 21- 17 simply because we probably are not going to win every single preseason game even though our backups have been playing very well in the preseason I think think that you know with Caleb not playing at all with the starters really not playing at all and with you know Austin Reed probably getting a a good amount of playing time in this game I think the Bears finally drop on but it does not matter in the slightest okay none of these guys are really going to be getting any playing time for the Bears when the games actually matter so yeah but leave your comments Down Below guys I will be back with a
