uh what uniforms do we want to wear for the last game of the season white out right out with you yellow helmets Old School logo on the top might do this one G Southern Eagles this is apparently a rivalry game did not realize so I was researching it a little bit earlier today let's try to get this win welcome to Statesboro Georgia and what many refer to as the prettiest little stadium in America and home to the Georgia Southern Eagles but trust me you come in here and you're not an eagle and while today season for one team it is more importantly a celebration senior day as we'll see the winners of four straight the taking on a squad hoping to prevent another L this week the Georgia Southern Eagles for EA Sports college football Reese Davis with you alongside David Pollock and J this rival kick little Stadium I'll do my best Damon he thought about bringing that out for a half second but he'll take a knee and they'll bring it to the 25 so Georgia Southern off Feld is the name of this okay I should know that deeper than ha that feels a little no doubt in rivalry games you got to limit the mental going to try the coach suggest see if that does anything for me run the right oh he went to the left or in the middle I'm tired of playing this hurry up just feeds the running back he stopped after getting a yard out to the 30 is where you the M on the drive predict the pass they run it here more power to him okay we'll take that throw the ball away throw away to Avid a negative play Georgia the punter going to get his first work of the afternoon get the first one of the day out of there and we saw a lot of him in that loss last week four times to be exact slips through the line that Nifty return the to SP first possession of the here are our impact players for this game and it goes beyond executing an assignment to make an impact in the game yeah obviously we were talking to both coaching STS this don't think I'm going to use coach suggestions on immediately pointed to these guys right here they are the key for their respective teams yeah and they don't always show up in the Box Score but these are the guys of the leaders these are the guys getting everybody organized and have to play well for their team to succeed and he does a really nice job finding open space and making a good gain before the stop is made well it's plays like that that will help this offense stay con has over a yard first running the football it just opens up your enti play moving forward they move the tight end all over okay the give and the Mountaineers pick up the first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark using his legs it's Roberts at the 35 he's open ripping through the defense and getting it all the way down 24 yd line I think it's really important for this offense they get this guy going early in the game and they're doing a nice job of that right now remember he's the kind of running back who gets better as the game goes on that's a really good omen for this offense considering his success now early the give to the tail going to be probably should have stuck to the outside I thought they were recover well man there's some big hitting going on the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run keep ey on run after the three yd pick up they come to the line Second and seven love with that linebacker out there but they'll give it on the counter he make theop after a pick up of three balls at the 18 I think this is four down territory because of my hatred of kicking field goals so I'm just going to run it here hopefully we're not expecting that zone rides to the back and they did not him line it'll bring up a decision here for punch it straight UPI is outy Drive alive fourth down oh no they'll turn it over on low man wins defense that time act like it's the first time here man feel like every game of you see you got some situation where you say I should have K the field goal this is should not be news to you I'm not live and die with the of that [ __ ] they knock him down but not before he gets it out to the 21 Y Line pick up a four Georgia Southern in a hurry on the move it's white and knock him down after a gain of three to the 23 and after that last run we'll see if they keep it on the ground on third [Applause] 27 patio Wills will pass he's got his running there like no joke there's probably a 10% chance I make it and there's probably like a 50/50 chance that I make a a fourth and one I'm going to take the 50/50 over 10% chance every day of the weeking to one that and with the extra point they get the first seven of the game quick work on that scoring drive just four plays and the score comes on a huge play in the passing game covering 67 yard to the end zone he'll bring it back from inside his five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 appalachin State regains possession and the Mountaineer offense headed to the field I don't know that I've done enough just being better early in the Downs on first down finding positive plays and it's frustrating when you move the football and get stopped on the other side of the field get points regroup got it I apprciate it of in The Bu eight yd pick up on first down leaves him with second and short looking for space it's Robert they get him on the ground but it's a first down and you know big chunks like this don't happen unless you commit to the Run game you got to get those big boys up front into the game understanding I want to knock people off to the football create some holes like you do here for my running back make the game easy to throw it's agular got his man in the middle nice pitch and catch there and they'll have enough for the first down that is an excellent throw by the quarter zon and delivering that ball on time now they'll try to cash in this drive first and 10 from the 50 the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D to the ground with the back good pick up all day long we anticipate being tighter the last time two when it was a blowout David and here's the thing you got an opportunity right now you got the football early in this game to show you this is going to be more of the sameul well we talked toing last time teams play everybody's your we expect this one to be a lot tighter find the tight end they've got it inside the 30 they'll mark it at the 28 it's first down well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm and [Applause] what got to go to the end of the quarter here [Applause] guys we' reached the end of the quarter Georgia Southern has the lead we played one before we move on let's have a look at the [Music] stats one big pass play killed me lots of time left and we're ready to get back to it and open the second period why am I beh oh I guess conference recording because I lost them I'm behind Oregon State will start the quarter offense about to snap it on second down they give it to him again a he terrible read yeah they're just going to need more push the offensive line got moved right back into his lap and as a result they lose yards on the play this will be the eighth play of the drive but a great opportunity for the defense to get off the field looking to pass it's agular trying to get to it and he got smacked just as he released the pass it's incomplete and the offense got in a situation third and long hard Feld starts sh but the good news is they got don't or kick a field goal what are you doing don't be insane [Applause] the offense failed to convert on fourth down earlier but that didn't change their thinking here he'll try to throw and pick up the first down complete the long to no avail Georg has it back and here comes the off again that is a big I can't see I don't want to use opportunity to catch it maybe get first down want to use play or coach suggestions when it's a hurry up offense oh my God what a play man and up first that play takes some protection you're going to stick it in the belly and that wide receiver is going to down the field come back fight and I need my line not to go down field ni job by the quarterback making the right read being patient throwing that strike Georg in a hurry now they'll run the draw really nice stop there from this senior leader if they I can't I ever choose cover three lock there it doesn't let right bumper doesn't work [Applause] thir does that ever happen to you guys when you're trying to Audible and a hurry up on defense like trying to choose a play and itra [Applause] do okay God stood right under catch it the appalachin state off returns to the field they've got it back after that last stopped onth down D yeah and they put a little bit of a drive together but Jessie they oh oh hello if I don't have time to the ball that's a problem man I had zero I like by the time I was done with my animation faking the hand off I the dude was in my face back to the ground on the left and he goes out of bounds after coming up with positive yardage there it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push just got to give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long dropping back it's agular now improvising he felt the he tring to get away but down he goes he'll lose a yard two and the MERS send out the punt [Applause] unit first one of the day as off he was called on three times in that Victory last week he'll call for the fair catch here Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense here's another opportunity Jess to stretch out this lead after pting last time I think it goes back to your Playmakers reys I think it's finding the guys that have been working for you earlier on in this game and getting them the football obviously no need me think about it you got the lead you got the football I was trying to do like a swim move but he just completely did not block me predict a run if it's not a run it's a touchdown he's looking for man on second down tosses it incomplete bad pass after to the catch and in this case even catching the football it was just a little bit off and it just made it a little bit difficult for his wide receiver to try to make the catch caught in the back field it's Arnold really strong job by the defense a negative play on third down Georgia Southern brings on the punt team let's see if he can help the coverage team out with this one Let it go Let it go I think please please thank you you'd think they would have had a good chance to down that one deep but the bounce carries it into the end zone for the Touchback at bachin State regains possession and the Mountaineer offense headed to the field last time David it was one two three kick the last drive that three and out sometimes that put your defense in a bad spot and you got to get a drive together here so you don't wear the defense out I just think David too predictable that last Drive they got to do something here to get this prct to the it's aular quarterback moving he'll pull it down he was able to squirt free and pick up a few and avoid a negative play there well great job there by the defense because they weren't able to get him sacked right away but you saw the coverage in the back end nowhere for the quarterback to throw the football didn't get the sack obviously you don't get the negative play but you also don't give up a big one you're feeling pretty good about where you are right now in this fires to the tight end and with that effort they pick up a fresh set of downs they have it at the 34 yd line they pick up the first on the drag route I know that what it looks like because that rout line Z man coverage he's flying across the field if it's Zone got sit down over the ball in a soft spot his give aot of time those being on the make sure I use everything if clock has reached the two-minute Mark and they have a chance to at least cut into this lead before the break got eight on first down now looking at a second and two unloads to the wide out he's got it he gets it to the 31 yd line a big play for this offense and this defense is going to have their hands full because they're going to need to be comfortable with guys oneon-one on islands in the perimeter of the field and they're just going to have to make they knew this offense was going to try to be aggressive got to be better effort in the back end for this defense moving forward on the ground Oh I thought I could get out of that line that be the defenses that fly around that make things happen the ones that get in the back field the running back tries to go where do you want him to go there is nowhere to go nice job gets a good block here we might oh it's a reverse they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down it's going to be interesting to see how the defense is going to try to defend these jet sweeps moving forward theyve got to have bodies Lookers in motion because they can hand it off to them at any time grabed near the sticks it's Wilson and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains not the most productive half for this offense so far but finally starting to get it in gear first and 10 movement here from the tight end looking to pass inside the Red Zone floating away uh nobody open he just throws it away and it'll bring up second down good decision by the QB you're outside the pocket you're trying to find an open Target no one's open throw it away and Live to play another day hand off to the lone [Applause] back there's so many better ways call out I feel there's so many better ways I could play that got more yards out of that draw a little closer after the last run would you just give it to him again on third down they'll try to move the chains on the ground and I don't think he got it's never not worked one I'm going to run qak half as they'll make some adjustments and the field goal unit will stay put as the head coach decides to go for it on fourth down never not work a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half never not work say you know what's coming you know they're going to run the quarterback sneak but it's one of the hardest plays in football to stop you got to find a way to dive from the defensive line spot and stop the feet of the quarterback and they couldn't do it listen all right let's give the shotout and they've been waiting for something good to happen with respect to getting after the quarterback right they're outside of the top 100 in the country in sacks per game but finally now you you see they're generating this pass rush three sacks on the game so far fires no how is that how is that not out of bounds no no no no no to get off one more snap feeling some heat and the defense doesn't let him get loose and that's going to things up that I didn't score there the end of the second quarter that means way right pH what an environment there today all the swear that tight got out of I swear he old fashioned rivalry game on display in that first half and it's been said football is a game of inches and guess what based on the compar no way that first of all that tight end didn't go out of and second of all that I didn't get that touch is to look at some of the explosive plays we've seen in panic but really this game is going to come down to which team is more efficient when they have the ball and how they play when it matters most I see this that I feel like that couldn't be any closer I don't think he made it in because where the football's at but wow that's like inches it's inches because I thought that TI got out of bounds and I then I just paned it because I knew the clock was running he'll return he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 all right let's get back to returns to the field after the lack of production in the first half plenty to talk about let's see what they can dial up here in the third quarter yeah I I think you stay calm I think you make adjustments Jesse I think you realize what they're doing to us and how can I attack that but you also tell the guys low scoring game still very much in this we can still be who we are it's a good point I think on offense this is not the time to reinvent the wheel I think you stay true to who you are and what your identity is and you've got to show confidence your guys to go out and just execute better here in the second half tackle is made at the 28 after a pick up of three thir here they come trying to convert a third and short from the [Music] 28 he'll put the tight end in motion on Third and short trying to impose their will and move the chains the Mountaineers pick up the first close nice job situation play David they needed one yard they picked up two like one line the nice a hole you can get through and not have to just do it all on your own as oh Kanye was a little bit faster little bit like one extra point All Season ranking in the top 10 in rushing and the Mountaineers are moving quickly down the field let's see what we got here they'll throw it on first down that's not good that corner sped up real quick as soon as I touch that sense the frustration building on the field and on the sideline for this team because on paper they're the better team from a player standpoint from a record standpoint things just not going their way in this game and someone's going to have to step up and make a play to turn this thing around hee and you didn't have a lot of panic in the first half man you're starting to get now in the second half and this offense just has really really struggled underperformed you know you're a better team team hasn't it's the third quarter they got to get it going now throws to the wide out catch in the middle it's Robinson What A Catch wa hold job to pick up the first down and they'll spot it at the 42 to hold on to the ball baby line with a FR set of downs to throw on first down fires to the wide out got his man to the left he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down and the Mountaineers have pushed it inside the 20 wide receiver now comes in motion they'll throw it from the Red Zone and that ball [Applause] is oh my gosh I I saw that dude but I was like in my head there's no way a lineman's just going to go for a pick right I thought he was going to keep rushing me for a sack and then he like went into coverage and just waited for the pass I that is crazy seriously I thought look at him watch him stop he stops and then he's like oh that's fine like a it's just such amazing awareness for that guy Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again it has been a complete uphill struggle for both of these offenses Jesse it sure has at this point David someone's just going to have to step up and make a play someone's got to break a tackle make an incredible catch and just give some life to this offense and whatever you can whatever it takes don't worry about looking pretty that's out the window we've already looked really really ugly we got to find something that works to put some points on the board smashes through yeah he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three Georgia Southern in a [Applause] hurry on third down he drops to throw quarterback moving out of the pocket oh my God he is brought down but man what a job chain that is the exact situation that every defense draws up I want you in third long I want you in a predictable passing situation but I don't want you with that guy because that guy can around scramble by time make third and long look like third and short and pick up a first down Williams looking for a man gets it out quickly they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker let's see what they do on third down looking to throw for it can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard noosed pass defense and now it's Fourth Down Georgia Southern brings on the punt team he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight not going to get a chance to field that one and the punt will bounce out of bounds appalachin State regains possession and the malir offense headed to the field the sledding has been tough scores have been at a premium Jesse in every possession seems like it could switch the momentum of the game yeah re for this offense just feels like they just just haven't been as physical for this offensive coordinator David he's having to go deep into the Playbook just to try to generate a first down well and the good thing is there's not a ton of game pressure cuz the other side's not scoring either but if you can find that one thing that get that one positive play and then maybe you get those juices going and something can start to big he's there to make the stop but the damage has been done as they pick up the first down on the throw and catch man down on the play as the officials take a break to let be checked out down down it's first and 10 from the 38 yd line this time they'll go to the running game why not block the linebacker instead of going to the second level Theo of they really put a lot on the offensive line to go out and really try and establish their dominance and their assertiveness and they've done a good job of that early in this game running the football how about this backer in pass coverage and bringing the big hit stick with him passing game very effective on second down what about here on third they'll try to run for it they convert on third down as he gets it to the 46 yd Line This is an offense that really sees their identity as being able to run the football nice job there picking up the first down they're going to go right back to him on first down solid fundamentals on that tackle from this freshman boy boy they swallow human beings when you get near them they're so big so strong those guys those running backs coming they just need a m they put one mid on a running back and he usually falls to the ground just because of their sheer mass and strength that was dangerous that was so dangerous Kan Kane gets ti so e crazy how but they're playing better football they're playing with Better Effort and right now they're making the most scanning the field it's agular fires it beautifully in on the Crosser really nice job to convert that third down and they've got it at the 33 this offense hasn't found the end zone yet starting to move it's first and 10 and a nice run there before the defense finally makes the stop yeah this coaching staff they're getting this offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting them Drive off the ball on first to take Kane out chunks of yard nyd pick up on first down and now they can take a shot on second and short INE to get it what dude what the hell was that I don't even I don't don't even know what to do like what do you what do you do and that was good defense again and unfortunately we've been saying that was that good defense defense or is this game just act I think it's the through the ground to try to pick up the first the Mountaineers are stopped but not before getting it past the sticks man I do not want a guy that will dance Square shoulders to the line of scrimmage take the snap the football play physical and fall forward nice job by that running back getting the first down and he finds some dude I that is just this game is [ __ ] trash man the end of the quarter Georgia Souther has the lead let's take a quick look at the national rankings to see how this playoff R is shaping up San Jose State dropping 16 Toledo probably going up Texas State plays tonight and the quarter fin we'll get this quarter going with a second down play on the run it's Roberts draged down to the turf but not before getting the first down well the off kan's risk of injuri is high yeah it's about that time I think not want to Injured Kanye awood in kind G to go behind Castle actually first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive alive and this still keep the running going I think even though Kanye is out he works his way all the way down to the and the defense is Reeling I know the passing pass is it's not exting but it will be very successful not like second andal again to get it in and they him again and it will be third down as a quarterback you got to know in this area of the field it's tough to throw right the windows they open and close so quickly when you get down to the Red Zone what helps you is run you're going up against one of the top 25 defenses stopping the runes into the end and he's got it touchdown appalachin State and what a nice play call and nice execution play action you're thinking run quarterback pulls it out throws the football right behind those guys and gets the touchdown yeah it was a nice job there by the quarterback too on the ball handling he just froze the defense just long enough to to help those wide Target get some separation in the end zone and at that point it was just an easy pitching catch getting set for the point after and no problem on that extra point and we have a tie ball game here in the fourth so they played keep away and held it for 16 plays on the scoring drive and it was finished off with a two-y touchdown toss and it'll be touch back the ball will come out to the 25 yd line Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense and then a lowc scoring game like this one David every possession is magnified and I think more than anything huge sack that should have been a fumble that look like a fumble I know it's it's a game thing and there's no way I can challenge this but look at this watch this I feel like this is a fumble oh no he was down right where's his knee that's I mean that's close definitely warrants a look but you know and you see quarterbacks back there pointing and telling the offensive line well it didn't work okay he was not prepared for that he comes Scot free and the quarterback pays the consequences for that not a pass we'll take it up a couple through the 22 and the eag want to move quickly [ __ ] down predict the pass guys in on Third and long no secret what he needs here oh no I missed it and that they certainly weren't afraid to take a shot there and now it's Fourth Down defense has been looking so good on this drive so far they already set up third and long now they take all the throws away down the field great job in coverage great job reading the QB's eyes so there's nowhere for him to go with it that was close to at yd offense returns to the field how big is this drive scored a touchdown the last time they had it defense get to stop so much going on all right so if you're the offensive coordinator here let's dial it in who are your best match best Playmakers to take of thisen opportunity the momentum is clearly not in your favor how do you get it back how do you make a big play oh that was so close to be bad okay why is Kanye in on some of these plays this is a type of play that could be a pivotal moment tight game third and long coming to the air it's agular unloads to the wide out makes the grab now with a great opportunity as they pick up the first down they've got it at the 40 wow and what a great job by that quarterback finding his open receiver on third down you know guys one of the most telling stats at the end of the game is third down conversion if you're a great third down team it's invaluable to your offensive success and that's why teams drill third down so much in practice hey how about it how about the old toss play right QB catches the ball tosses it to the running back listen it's got to be thrown out in front of him so he can continue to run and then that offensive line has to do a really good job of getting the edge so he can get North and South used to see that play a ton back in the day just don't see much of we're going to go with the old fashion slant route see if it's open third throw the wasn't open I can't the field goal I cannot make a field goal I'm so sorry to everybody that's watching that tell me to kick field go just can't in I just can't do it I wish I could do it do I rely on the run here you know what I want to rely on the run here tie game here late in the fourth they want to control the ball and they're not going to punt it away they'll go for it on fourth down they'll try to pick up the first oh Castle [ __ ] that's the second time that you got denied short yard if you're going to go for it on fourth down you decide to run the football you got to be sure up front that you're going to win The Trenches they didn't get it done that time they need to be more physical moving forward they're going to try to do that again in the same type of situation in this game the big throw is good enough to give him a first down the Eagles come to the line with a new set of [Applause] downs they'll give it to the back dude why did you go that way he and they'll finally catch up my this game is so [ __ ] bad like what what is this dude doing right here this guy what is this somebody explain this to me where we where are we we doing here what are we doing like what what are we doing okay that's fine whatever big chk ofed up down to the 23 for this first and 10 looking for space it's white and he didn't have a whole lot of operating room after the Juke not much room to run after picking up a couple at second and eight from the gun give on the inside and how about that interor defense stuffing the run for nothing Run game better be physical up front on the defensive line they've got some MERS they've got some dudes with bad intentions nice play there they'll try the run and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes to stop and these are the big decisions you have to make in a football game how confident are you in your defense that's all this decision comes down to if I kick a field goal and I trust my defense that's how this game could end or do I want to roll the dice because I don't believe in my defense theight if this game wasn't so bad it would be uh 13 to 10 right now CU I would have kicked field goals the two times I got the opportunity [Applause] field goal let's see what the defense can do nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the2 appalachin State regains possession and the Mountaineer offense headed to the field this is everything you could hope for in a rivalry game like this close game waning moments history waiting to be made guys and it's moments like this why you come and play for these two schools right to play in a game like this in a rivalry like this how about that play a catch along the right side What A Catch pay that man money that far down the field and you you're trying to control your body and run as you're laying out that's a really great effort really good concentration and that is how you make your quarterback look really good I don't know who on defense is going to cover this guy honestly he could be a problem for this defense over the middle of the field in the passing game it's first and 10 they've moved it to the 41 getting some heat hard running there and he will wisely throw it settle down the fourth quarter and you got to be so careful as a quarterback when you're throwing it over the middle of the field right now because these windows are really small he's very lucky that last one was not picked off back to work on second and 10 from the 41 after that last incompletion back to throw it's agular this time it's complete he works his way inside the 30 down to the 20 and picks up a first down this is what you do in the backyard you never do it in the middle of the game it's always final drive clock winding gotten to have a score offense down one possession excellent job working through the air there finding a hole in that defense and picking up a first down and talk about stepping up at a huge moment of the game this guy has been relatively quiet throughout the game but here in a two-minute situation he makes arguably the biggest play of the game so far for his offense nice job listen you you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive game making your situation really [Applause] good my God that was so close to being picked off by three people that was a terrible pass terrible pass amazing catch moment got to have it you've dreamed about it your whole life he puts the ball on the money they make the cat take the lead with seconds remaining on the clock oh my gosh that was rough they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point is good and every Point counts it's now a fourpoint lead in the fourth now that they have the lead this kickoff unit has to stay in their Lane create some field position and hand it over to the defense he'll take a knee it's a touch back save every second he can as they try to put together this final drive Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again and they're going to have to fight this defense and they're also up against it with time Jesse yeah no doubt Reese this quarterback now he's going to have to show off his Poise David they practice these late game situations but how's this guy going to respond and I got a little bit of time to work with you so I watch the defense and if they're going to drop back and play real conservative like they tend to do late in the game let's get few shots over the middle first before we have to take that deep shot no time to waste here they've got to get set and pick up chunk yardage fires to the wide out and it'll be incomplete this is some physical pass defense well at this point of the game the defense now is substituting their personnel they've got their dime package in the game there's a lot of DBS out there they know this offense is going to have to throw the football to climb back in this game be giving up something here we're giving up a completely deep pass there that's also a thing what was that how do you not play that ball there looking to move it through the air going back to the well another deep ball it's incomplete and they had a thought bounc just could that's going to do it no matter how much college football changes realignment all of that kind of stuff rival are consistent and winning rivalry that's just the best season wins series you take the field against your rival
