pleased to be joined with Jaguar's pass rusher I'm GNA call you a pass rusher Trevis you like that you like that I like that I love it I love Jaguars pass rusher Trevis Gibs it entering his first year here in Duvall I won't bury the lead Trevis uh you just told me you ain't used to this heat yet man look I'm trying to get used to it it's different from the places I've been but you know the humidity is high uh the heat is high but you know one positive thing that I love about this is I know you know these conditions is going to carry us through the season so I can't shy away from it at all you've spoken so far since your arrival here about how you almost came here a year ago there's been a couple moments where almost you almost came to Jacksonville before why was this year the right time for you to reunite with Bill shuy and be here in Jacksonville you know um God brought the opportunity to me again and uh you know he just laid it on my heart uh I had deep thoughts about it last year but didn't pull the trigger and you know now it's just the opportunity it's a great opportunity to work with Bill shy again a great opportunity to learn under Ryan Nelson and a I'll Stand an opportunity to be able to play with Josh Allen Trayvon Walker Eric Armstead and plenty more guys I know when we spoke with Coach shuy back in June he said you view this as a competition you know you're competing for a spot what is that like to be to know that you have to earn every single day that spot on the 53 you know it's it's normal it's normal every day is a fight every day is competition uh you know you compete with yourself every day so it's nothing that I'm not used to it's not I'm not worried about anybody else I'm just trying to make myself as good as I can be and wherever the chps fall they fall you've played with K Mack you've played with Jeffrey Simmons Harold Landry where does that guy 41 standing over there or the other guy 44 standing right there where do those two guys rank uh you know I'm going to be honest they at the top they're at the top they're young guys you know they're real cool real uh professional um you know it's nothing more that I could ask from those guys we all share tips and tendencies we all push each other and the details that they that they drive into their everyday lifestyle man it's outstanding it's amazing Trayvon in particular it feels like it's been one year it was you know three sacks his rookie year where he was really learning the outside linebacker position last year 10 sacks how have you seen even just speaking with people who were here last year how have you seen him take it to a different level so far this off season and through two days of Camp you know I'm going to be honest I met Trayvon Walker three seasons ago we had the same defensive line trainer man as soon as I met him cool guy down to earth you know we had great conversation during our training session and uh you know just to see his growth is outstanding see the way that he walks he talks the way he carries himself the way he comes to work every day it's um man the sky is a limit the the stars is the limit for him it's it's outstanding it's crazy why did you want to be a part of Ryan neel's defense in particular you know Ryan neelson he's an outstanding Coach man he's C he's created Hall of Famers he's coached Hall of Famers and um you know even within the first two week weeks I've got here man he taught me so much that I haven't learned in the last four years of my career and it's it's tremendous man I couldn't ask for anything more so you know to make the decision to come here you know I've seen the way his defenses play at Atlanta and the Saints and man they just he lets his dine go and turn it loose and you know as a as a pass rusher what more could I ask for uh Travis one thing that I noted in my report after yesterday's practice you're vocal out there you're not shy you're coaching guys up you're pointing out positions you're hyping guys up has that always been your approach or has that been a leadership role you've kind of grown into in your time in the league you know I'm going to be honest um it was always my Approach you know being transparent about my third and fourth year I did get away from it a little bit I I got I stepped out of my shell a little bit but you know now being back here and I don't know if it's being with shouey you know what I'm saying I don't know it's just I'm getting back to my normal self man I'm getting back to being talkative having energy and uh just a tick and Time Bomb man man ticking Tom bomb yeah it's it's that's the only word that I can say for it man it's fun being out there and the energy is just it's outstanding to be able to share it why is it a taken time bom you know it's just it's just it's been time you know last year I didn't had a best year the year before that I didn't have a best year So eventually it's going to turn over and I I believe and I know it will be this year before we let you go Travis people of Duvall let us know a little bit about you what are your your hobbies your interest what's been the most fun thing you've done since you've arrived in Jacksonville uh most fun thing that I've done since I've gotten in Jacksonville is probably stay out of the sun that's one um I haven't been able to check out the beaches yet oh okay but um I like to travel you know uh I like to relax I got a sun on the way sun on the way during October so do all will be able to give me some congrats and tips on that and um you know I'm a real chill guy man I like to joke have fun but I like to work hard man you know you get one life so I don't look at things as negative you know I know it's it's people that you know isn't as fortunate didn't get to wake up
