[Music] what youen guess what adjust you espe after that first um you know first inning I think it was just it just wasn't sharp I don't think the curve ball um so that Lefty L um you know was up um there was some sliders uh you couldn't put hitters away and they were you know putting balls away balls and play that to back um so I think that it just he wasn't sharp early and then it just seemed like there was a sense of urgency in the sense that he was kind of his Tempo got quicker and he was getting quick outs they were putting the ball in play and uh it was it was huge that he at least got us in the fifth inning when you look at the full and I guess specifically with Joe Kelly how do you I guess you describe some of just those kind of inconsistencies that just kind of up and down um that's a good question um you know his last two were great efficient strike throwing uh today he left a slider middle middle 111 hit it for a homer gets the first out um drew the infield in I felt good about the matchup and he just got to go out there and make pitches and he left a slider um you know good pitch to hit so as far as inconsistencies I just don't know the answer you know I think that there's sometimes he comes in and he's lights out and other times uh you know he labors um so I don't know if it's something we got to dig into or you know what it is but yeah I mean it's it's certainly been inconsistent Dave not quite enough but there was a fight in the offense um especially in the fourth and the fifth what did you see out of them fight I saw fight um obviously sh's just playing great baseball but you know M's getting big hits when we need it um I think Freddy with the finger he's not going to make an excuse but he's still trying to you know grind through it um you know guys are taking good at bets you know situationally Tommy got a guy over we get him in and um they's fine and I think Max even legging out a double they lose the ball in the Twilight those are good things I think tonight it was just we just didn't pitch well and and to be quite honest we got gifted a couple outs um by their base running mistakes um and so kept us in the ball game we had a chance to win and we just couldn't put them away how concerning is it when you see that first inning from pish um you know it was not ideal certainly um I wouldn't say concerning it was good to see him still what I would expect is not lay down and go short and he still gave us five innings um so we're in a good spot to win the series tomorrow um it it's just not the way we wanted to start though is T okay yeah yeah I just think that for me um I wanted to put the best defender of left field in there and in a one run ball game I just felt that you know CT in that spot is a better option you think sh ball off the bat in the 10 had a chance I did yeah I did um you know Clevenger we've seen him we've had him tough at bat versus a left-hander and I was uh hoping he got just enough of it but still took a good swing Jo Homer is a splitter down low opposite corner he's strong enough to pull it down right foot just what you make you know his Homer in that spot especially coming off last night um big spot um it's just letting it's good hitting in the sense of it's uh something that it wasn't a fast ball it was down below the zone and he didn't come out of the out of his swing stayed square and was able to have enough behind it to keep it fair and hit at the Ballpark and that's just something that's uh your body just kind of reacts to pitches that you don't know what's coming and for him to stay through the baseball speaks to where he's at it's it's a really hard to do and a really good swing
