Intro this is your daily briefing and you're most welcome to it hello hello hello eve basuma is on his way to tottenham we are told um but there is a slight problem with a run-in that he had in with larry law now i'm not going to make light of this but what i am going to do is hopefully share with you some facts um because facts are our friends how you feel yeah not so reliable and exhibit a here would be the the fighting pronouns who are very skeptical about everything so what's the deal what's the dealio i mean is the guy about to go to prison did he murder somebody what what happened well the truth of the matter is that he was arrested um if we just get the article up here it was back in october of 2021 there's a nightclub called the arch in brighton sussex police swooped at 1 30 a.m and got a cracking little quote here from somebody who's on the scene at the time he said that club was packed as it was a popular student night especially with the freshers in town people were star struck to see basuma in the club he's brighton's best player at the moment so definitely caught some eyes they were even more shocked to see him being led away in handcuffs outside the club so basuma and another gentleman were arrested and the charge was sexual assault suspicion of sexual assault that was the reason Bail extended that they were arrested suspicion of sexual assault i have no idea whether they're guilty innocent or otherwise no idea at all but what i do know is that then what happened is that some time later the bail was extended and this was december of that year of 2021 um it was extended for basuma and it was just extended for his companion his colleague um sussex police said two men arrested after a woman reported being sexually assaulted at a venue in brian in the early hours 6th of october and the victim is receiving specialist support from officers and brighton football club put out a a a comment which was a bit of a no comment because it didn't actually name the player but um that fell into the public domain i think somebody went to the sun newspaper Bail revoked so after that basuma and the other guy their bail had been extended and their bail was then was then revoked was done away with and they remained under investigation which is police pylons four that the whole thing had been kind of a bit inconclusive the cps who would take all the information that's provided and then decide if the prosecution would be a safe one or an unsafe prosecution they could then come back and um charge one or both of the individuals and basuma or and his companion could end up in court the only thing i Water under the bridge would say is that quite a lot of water's gone under the bridge here one would imagine that everybody that the police were seeking to have spoken to they have spoken to and that The opportunity they are happy enough to leave the thing under investigation which is to say if somebody wants to come forward and swing the balance one way or the other then there's still the opportunity but right now the summer hasn't been charged with anything but summer is an innocent man and what i would say to you is that he's been playing football on a weekend week out for brighton hove alvin football club and you can say to yourself how do i feel about somebody who has been arrested on suspicion of a sexual assault and i think most of us would kind of like recoil not really someone i want to hang around with but the reality is that you are innocent until proven guilty Conclusion so anybody complaining or anybody kicking up a little bit of uh dust here about bisuma's um character or um you know he's his personality or whatever you want to call it needs to be careful because the man hasn't been charged and he hasn't been convicted and all i would say to you is that in my time on the planet the world's full of pretty rubbish people not in the main but there's enough of them out there to swing things in their favor so you can decide how you're going to approach things in life you can wander around getting up every morning being appalled by this and shocked and horrified by the other or you can try and find your own way through through life um and are you really gonna make a big deal over somebody who hasn't been charged hasn't been convicted hasn't seen the inside of a courtroom i think there's bigger fish for you to fry out there personally good luck keep it time
