yeah real disappointing for a number of reasons obviously the start was was uh not what we want not we expect not the standards that we have set so to go two goals down I think in the first eight nine minutes was uh really bad by Us St uh play our way back into the game off the red card gives us hope a little bit ofm momentum and then the second half you know Drake calendar sorry Drake CER Drake cend yes Drake calender makes you know a handful of really really good saves they defend very well and and some key moments um but in the end we didn't do enough I don't think to to be good enough for m one goal I would say think we moved the ball pretty slow with 10 men which was not something we spoke about at halftime um I think we moved the ball a better we give them more problems but inide that you know C make some good saves and you know now we're we're chasing these guys a little bit farther away than we were before the game questions um how do you make sense of the slow start I don't know because the meetings were good lead up to the game uh a good meet at the hotel talked about the intensity talked about hey there's going to be you know possible uh lingering memories from the last time we played them was mentioned again before the uh the game um so you know they took advantage of our mistakes I think all their chances uh in the first half really came from us turning the ball over our own half which you know which makes it easier for them to be dangerous so hard to explain because the game means so much and the preparation going into the game I thought was correct with the practices and the intensity of practice we just came out really flat and we got punch for him does it feel like does it feel like uh and it's fair enough if you want to say this is for p but does it feel like the shield might be a little too far out of reach at this point it eight points eight games to go oh yeah it's tough I mean be better with two and points eight games to go and um I don't know I don't know what their schedule is I couldn't tell you um obviously we we you know we need for them to to slip up and for us to go on very very good run in order for us to catch them so it's still within you know still reality uh we have some difficult games coming up I'm sure they do as well so um but obviously State obvious makes Tom what do you make of that four passing you described ear in the game is that the pressure springing or is that the the first one is just a misunderstanding between uh Luca and Nico I think Nik thought the ball was going one way and luk thought he was showing feet I don't know if he slipped or not I don't think he did um in saying that we still have you know you're going to turn the ball over during the game it's not going be a perfect game so you have to defend the box that what we did uh the second one is just you know ob's trying to make a play makes a bad pass to take advantage of it so um it's not like guys are stepping on the field with the purpose of turning the ball over um I think one misunderstanding and one was just a bad decision like I said they were ready for it and they punished us and then you mentioned going down to man his team has at times struggled to to score particularly up a man this season think Orlando in times like that so I guess that answ my question is that is this part of a larger theme or is this kind of independence from other times been no I I mean just because you're M does mean you're going to score sure it means you're have a lot more of the ball but what you do with it is the most important thing um teams will tend to sit back deeper and protect their goal so they don't give you the space in front of them not the space behind them um sometimes we Thrive with teams play high line that space behind we like to run into it um but in the end um like I I think we created enough chances to get a goal and who knows if we got a goal obviously you know the the momentum the energy from both benches is completely different um you know I see Dr calar made some really good saves we we could have put them under pressure I think more with with better ball movement I just think at times it's hot humid I understand that uh we were just a little bit too you know methodical kind of going from one point to to the next and not move bu kind of go to the zoom now and Laurel failer Laurel you can go ahead thank you um Ian Murphy starting on the bench was was that tactical or was he dealing with anything that that made him not fully available coach's decision Laurel um wanted to look at a backline of the three with DeAndre Cheeto and Miles that was the that was the the that was the meaning of that decision and then um this kind of goes along with Pat's first question but that's uh four of the last six games you guys have falling behind early um is there any overriding theme any reason you think that that's been such a struggle lately well I didn't know that so obviously you know it's a it's cost for a l if it's four to the last six um the intensity and the you know I think at times the lack of understanding how the other team is going to come out you know it's these are these are very some very important games uh there's playoff positions and you know trophies on the line um you know for for me that was that was a flat 10 minutes as flat as I've seen coming out the locker room um are we out of shape no is is the preparation not there are the understanding of the opponent no I think everything is in line there um you know sometimes that's the uh the unknown answer but you know I won't disagree with you on the question we have come out flat and something we need to address for sure we go back to Carter um is it hard to evaluate a game like this one where it's decided in 6 minutes and those six minutes can come at any point like at any point in the game but like for 84 minutes scores z z is that hard harder to evaluate than it would have been otherwise I mean when you don't come out well you're going to dwell on the negative you know and I thought we played well enough after first two goals but then saying that you check yourself you said after the first two goals you make a huge point we're down two nothing at six for six minutes now we've done that at teams at home too you know so it you know it happens in sports you know the best teams in the world sometimes come out you know get scored on early um so yeah I mean I think it's more it's a question for Pat you know he's he's obviously the the overall evaluator of team and how we play um from the question you guys are asking is you know it's you know those first six minutes doomed us you know we tried to crawl our way out of it and we didn't do enough no thank you so
