so I'm on my lunch break right now and I was going to step away from the computer go for a walk take the dog out enjoy some fresh air just get away from the screen and then I saw something that was so stupid that I can't not respond to it now we all know who this is Rachel Ray Gun the be girl from Australia that scored zero points at the Olympics and has turned into an internet sensation for all the wrong reasons now I avoided covering this I did post one little video where someone basically did like a generative AI uh parody of her and it was really funny but I've avoided talking about this because a lot of content creators that have covered ray gun have been hit with copyright strikes from the ilc the international Olympic Committee now they won't hit people that make positive comments but anyone that dares crique ker has been hitting has been getting hit with copyright strikes so I avoided it I didn't want to deal with the headache however I did learn about this today so this is the world dance Federation now I never heard of the world dance Federation all right I'm a 50-year-old overweight guy I don't dance but I looked it up just to see if it's legit the world Dance Sport Federation formerly the international Dance Sport Federation is the international governing body of Dance Sport and parad danport as recognized by the ioc and the international par Olympic Committee okay so they are legit so let's go to athletes right here world ranking and breaking I'm set this to female look who is ranked number one ray gun are you kidding me this takes the whole nonsense of participation trophies to a whole new level now you can actually go to the Olympics bail bail miserably score zero points and be ranked number one in the world wow I I'm I'm blown away by this I how did it come to this so there's an article here over at bleach report or Bleacher Report I'm sorry Olympic viral break dancer ray guns number one world ranking explained by governing body I'm sure this is going to be good the world Dance Sport Federation issued a statement Tuesday to explain Rachel Ray Gun status as the number one ranked women's break dancer in the world despite getting shut out at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris last month according to the Associated Press the break dancing governing body noted that the Olympics and prior Olympics qualifying events did not factor into the current world rankings since no events that count toward the ranking Games took place from December 2023 through the Olympics the rankings of many competitors are based on only one event really one event determines the whole world ranking how convenient for ray gun that event was the Oceana Continental championships in October 2023 where she finished in first place gun who is a 37-year-old University lecturer okay we already know about this so I don't think this is going to say anything else that's useful other than this committee decided to use only one event to determine who the number one breaker for the female category is going to be so that was the only break dancing contest I highly doubt it all right I'm not a breaker but I really highly doubt that only one contest has taken place since October this sounds like arbitrarily created rules just so they can put her at the number one slot it just kills me how the International Olympic Committee and parts of the Australian uh Olympic Committee have defended her up and down when rest of the world wants her held accountable and God forbid you speak out against it you either called an IST or you're getting a copyright strike I'm probably going to get a strike for this video Let's see if that happens I mean this is like appointing me number one Fitness influencer on social media my fat old ass with bad knees yeah totally makes sense is this the world we live in honestly this is really depressing thinking this is the world that my kids are going to grow up in I I at least had the satisfaction of thinking that I'm not going to live very long to see it get worse unbelievable absolutely unbelievable anyways I'm still going to try to get a walk-in try to cool off a little bit this is really frustrating I don't know why this frustrates me I'm not a dancer but I appreciate when I see people that have worked really really hard have become very good at something be awarded according and seeing this woman who got a PhD in break dancing blow it at the Olympics and then get a number one world ranking really rubs me the wrong way it really does because I think there's a lot of young ladies out there that most likely deserve this a lot more so anyways that's just my opinion what is your opinion on this topic thanks for tuning in and I will see you again next time what in the actual
