State-of-the-art facility set to open at U of M

[Music] we don't have a space like this and uh having one Now is offering us so many opportunities um for collaboration between different groups the doot concert hall is a state-of-the-art performance facility at the University of Manitoba and it's just the latest performance venue this city has to [Music] [Applause] offer it's a renovation that has taken place over the last decade the new Hall is a culmination of several years of other construction projects tach Hall this is the final piece of the puzzle it's a 4008 seat state-of-the-art acoustic uh concert home the stage is a variable size it can accommodate full choir and Orchestra simultaneously there is an orchestra pit which is accessible for Opera and musical theater and can host 40 musicians with a conductor the stage is also so large that it's a perfect for dance recital and things of that nature so it isn't just music it's a variety of different Arts activities singing in this space is so exciting Jaden Fraser says he's excited to be part of all the collaborations in the future which is now possible with the new venue it's really beautiful the the connections you get to make here at the University um the work you do um but also the the joys that you get to experience it's uh it's convenient exciting and um we're just really thrilled to be able to share music in our very own space an a korin teen says the Acoustics in the facility makes it easy to play the space feels very generous like there's not a lot of effort you have to expend um to make the sound that you want uh so it feels like a very welcoming welcoming Hall to make music in in wiip G carp City news
