Latest Florida State Depth Chart Brings New Starters

purchase terms apply download game time today what time is it game time a few changes to the depth chart nothing unbelievable but there are a couple that I think are interesting and there are a few that I thought might have transpired but did not so first off let's go over the ones that didn't happen and get it out of the way although I'm not thinking that they should have I'm sure some people based on the comments that I saw on the lockon seminal YouTube channel thought that DJ U Anga shouldn't start that's not realistic but I want to get it out there he is listed as starter I didn't think that should change but I know some of you thought so I'm going to leave that alone and just move on from that no changes at receiver TI end is still the same but we get to the offensive line and that's where it gets interesting running back by the way is the same as as well offensive line I wondered if there was going to be a change at right tackle or if there's going to be at least some kind of split which we'll have to find out but as of right now the way the right tackle is listed is still Jeremiah buers Scott and him neither one played great I didn't know if they would Shuffle things around maybe something else maybe somebody moves to right tackle but at Right Guard it's now Keandre Jones or TJ Ferguson apparently they want something better out of those guys because I believe Ferguson correct me if I'm wrong started the last game they had them in reverse order whatever the case may be the right side of the line struggled I don't know if Florida state has another answer at this point we'll have to see but that's a very concerning situation because if you don't have especially on third Downs you don't have pass protection passing game's going to go in to the absolute bottom of the world so Florida State maybe it says again or Ferguson is or and the weed starter right now is Keandre Jones at right guard I thought there might be a change at right tackle but there was not moving over to defense nothing changed up front in terms of starters I'm curious how much again this is going to go with playing time just a projection KJ Samson the red shirt freshman out of North Carolina he's a big boy 305 310 pounds maybe he starts getting some playing time farmer just didn't play well the last game there's no nice way to say that I'm not trying to knock Joshua while he's down but he did not play well in this last game maybe Daniel Lions plays a little more because I thought out of everybody he played the best of the Interior defensive lineman that got more than a handful of reps he looked the best to me uh for those you who don't remember he's number 95 for the Noles he was in on that play where him and Nicholson got the tackle play went to the left and they stuffed the Georgia Tech runner for quite a big loss actually it's a great play by both players they got there and converged at the same time but nobody overtakes farmer or Jackson that was a little surprising to me the interesting thing at linebacker cam riy is still listed as the starter but it also says or Blake Richard or Blake Nicholson I thought Blake had his moments he was a few that he was out of Step but he is a very athletic kid and you can see by the way he moves just going through the Georgia Tech game again a couple days ago like you're not sure I went through it again and I'm like okay he at least shows flashes needs consistency he shows flashes Cam Riley is a senior it'd be hard to unseat him you'd think but cam wasn't like Ultra effective in terms of making plays at the line scrimmage stuffs as they call him on Pro Football Focus or in the back field he had seven tackles but a lot of them were after they got three four yards just run-of-the-mill stuff if Florida state does not play better against BC I would not be surprised to see just full on Nicholson get the nod because they've got to start getting more athleticism and new guys in there if the seniors aren't getting done like senior you're pretty much who you are if you're not getting it done what does that mean next Kevin nolles is ahead of Earl little now I don't know if that is a big deal but there's no or does that matter a lot I'm not sure maybe he's a player that'll be a little more physical I said in a podcast yesterday that FSU for me if I was making up the dep chart defensively I would look at it very simply who are my best tacklers that's number one after the way they whacked the effort consistency the drive the angles holding the edge all that stuff and then combine it with the lack of tackling let's just start with the Bare Basics here you got to tackle better there is a change there at the nickel spot so it's Kevin nolles he's a senior for Florida State ventrol Cypress is still a starter so Azariah Thomas so is shahen brown but at free safety a guy I've talked about a lot on this show that I have super high expectations for Conrad hussy played at St Thomas aquinus it's a kid I know very well really good football player he was around the ball quite a bit special teams they got a little bit of playing time they've seen enough of Devonte Brown after one game he gets demoted this is interesting to me for a couple reasons going back to offense and every coaching staff's different by the way I'm not picking on anybody going back to offense it seems like there's a little more leeway neither side played well by any means but the defense you got the change at two spots of secondary and you also have Lake Nicholson as an or at linebacker offensively you've got to change at guard but there's nothing else significant there in terms of how it's going to go does that work out how does how does that go I think that it's kind of interesting going into the rest of the week and this can change before the game you got to practice all week I think it's important it if the offense plays poorly this week and I of course I have no idea after what they did there's nowhere to go but up they had 291 yards rushing or of total offense been nice if it was just Russian if they play poorly again and we get to this point next week what does that mean I want to talk about that next on locked on seals because I think morale whether they win or lose they need to play well if they're going to keep these depth charts kind of like they are this is an era I don't like this but it is what it is you will lose kids quickly that are down on the depth chart second or third if the team is playing poorly we're going to talk about that next here on lock on simul have you for Florida State to make some roads towards being a more progressively good football team obviously they got to tackle better score needs to be a lot better you need to win and you just got to show signs of life but what if things don't go great let's let's just pick offense for the sake of argument here and they win let's say they win 2720 the game is Nick and Tuck and Florida State punches in a touchdown with a minute 13 to go and they hold off Boston College in an ugly game if you keep the depth chart like it is that I just talked about if you keep it the same how does that go forward these are the kinds of questions that I'm genuinely concerned about across college football this is not a forto state issue this is a issue for everybody fair or unfair 18 to 22y olds don't have the greatest opinion of the world because they look at at a very narrow WIS more often than not there's a few guys like Cam Davis that are a little more broad but they are the exceptions not the wo I'm very concerned that they didn't change much with the offense and it stunk the place up if they stink it up again win or lose and there's not changes next week I'm very fearful for the first time since I started covering locked on simal over a year ago that Florida State's going to start having some problems and I don't like to be the bear of bad news but I'm around recruits all the time and young people they have zero patience negative five million they all have a very high opinion of what they can do and they shall not wait maybe that's okay I don't know Norville has to set a standard and a culture but it's it's a fine line I know that some of the coaches that I've spoken to are worried about this and some other circumstances and I'll give you an example a couple years ago at the University of North Carolina m brown had this guy by name that Drake made that red shirt they knew after spring he was flat out the guy no ifs no ANS no butts the guy that is the main reporter for the 247 site he knew that flat out they listed co-starters after spring because they were just flat out no ifs hands or Bots worried that if Drake May got hurt they wouldn't have a backup quarterback not the most honest thing to do but coaches across college football do it all the time especially at quarterback you don't have a backup quarterback man it's rough fla State's in a much better spot than most teams that's good news but that kind of goes across the board too Florida State's loaded at running back right now no doubt about it but if two guys get mad and I'm not saying they will that's an issue that I'm worried about depth charts matter to the players a billion times more than coaches I know that you freeze made a comment the other day with auburn saying he didn't care who ran on on the field first I think it was deep defensive tackle what he was talking about and I think a lot of coaches feel that way but he also noted I know that players often think of the depth chart is important and more important way to that the parents and the people around them who talk to them about it also think it's important that's the society we live in Freez is right that's something I hear about from parents I get people contact me high school Co everything's about my kid should get more these are the kinds of things as a Florida State football program when you're going through issues that noral and his staff have to figure out it's awkward and I'm not saying I've got an answer for it I just want people to understand it and again I'm honest I'm not here to give you sunshine and rainbows just because this is how college football Works transfer portal allows for immediate eligibility elsewhere if Florida state does not play this weekend I would not be surprised if some guys are unhappy I'm not saying they're he's gonna hit the portal immediately but it wouldn't shock me either you'll see that with somebody from this weekend I don't know who it'll be somebody's going to weigh an egg I don't know which team somebody's going to weigh an egg this weekend maybe one of these directional schools beats North Carolina or something I I don't know there'll be unhappy guys they didn't play and their team lost guys in front of them that they thought they were better they'll be they'll be ready to to Bol it's just a part of the college football world that we're in if you can't handle it you move on so I'm curious to see if this works and maybe all this is hyper Bowl on my end maybe it's 100% I hope so I'll be glad to be eatting Crow and Florida State comes out and just plays great and doesn't matter but right now I don't have a lot of faith that's GNA happen they need to find a way to win I think somebody said they're 15-point favorites or something like that against BC I'm not a gambling guy at all but I would definitely take the points uh Florida state scored 21 they're not exactly a juggernaut so we'll see what happens but this is a very interesting depth chart you got three guys on on the defensive side you got one on offense I'm curious to see if anybody else plays more that's the other part of Def chart you can't really guess how much more do they rotate are they gonna rotate any lineman up front on offense who knows I'm curious like how much Robert Scott plays in particular but after saying all that I'm really really curious about this next game fla State needs to figure it out so I don't have to have any more of these kind of podcasts that would be the best news for everybody that Tunes in to Loon seals I don't know we'll see but
