Friday we have led up to this point with every kind of analysis injuries depth charts for the Florida state seminal and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets had Max Chadwick on the show yesterday the Pro Football Focus writer to discuss his thoughts about the roster the transfer portal editions for Georgia Tech Florida State's rushing attack all the different points of emphasis for the game zero here in college football the only really good game honestly this weekend across the college football landscape tomorrow at noon it will kick off at Eastern Standard Time in noon so ESPN's got the game I think it's going to be fun but I have four Prime reasons for my pick and it is going to be Florida State I'll give the score here in a little bit but here are my four reasons for the nolles in descending order let's start with number four this one is probably the one that most people if they were asked to give a quick answer would come up with why Forida state will win it's a generic answer but I want to go in more detail Forida State's depth and Team Speed based on recruiting based on the transfer portal based on all the players combined they have more overall Talent than Georgia Tech and here's why I think it's going to matter in a more specific manner or two number one I I just think the speed will relate to more big plays whether they throw the football whether they're going to be running it like toili Rodell kaziah you name a player Ford state has in their backfield do not forget about Jay Lucas I'm telling you that guy can really run he is a threat and then of course all the talent that Florida state has in General on defense you're looking at a lot of players that can make plays a pick six in this game talk about a QB last year in Hanes ging 16 interceptions Team Speed recruiting depth all those things combined that's my point number four and to be honest with you that speed one extra point here I think Hayes King and maybe only a couple plays because he's a tremendous football player in terms of athleticism and his upside On Any Given play but he does make the boneheaded throw every now and then when he's under duress team speed for Florida State might cause him to have a pick that some other teams just wouldn't get the DB wouldn't get the free well just say fair catch if you will because the ball's up in the air he gets smoked when he's throwing the ball and it just spirals uncontrollably to a DB for for the nolles that something that can happen Point number three the turnover battle what I was just working off of is part of it Team Speed you're more likely to get fumbles Team Speed you're more likely to create sacks Team Speed you're more likely to get interceptions now Georgia Tech's defense has gotten considerably better in my opinion especially based on what Max Chadwick told me it was pretty interesting they had a couple guys they got Zachary tow from Illinois it's a guy I like he's from AO Florida it's a kid I've seen before transferred in from the he's nice added piece they got a DB transfer transferred in from Tennessee pretty good player they got a guy that had four sacks last year for southern cow that transferred in at Edge experienced player it's a senior that that's really good and they also got a guy back that was injured last year on the defensive Line's Captain okay but I still don't think their speed and depth is the same as Florida State and I don't think it's that they're not they're not a slow team by any means especially the starters I just think the depth disparity will strongly favor the nolles here and that'll help them especially in the second half they'll have more fresh legs more likely to get picks and turnovers and quite honestly just fewer chances to make failures of their own to give the ball up to Georgia Tech I'm not saying Florida State's going to have a Flawless offensive game I expect quite the opposite let me be clear on that just for a focal point just a moment this could be an ugly game in the first half meaning both teams are probably going to shoot themselves in the foot a little bit both teams have enough speed on defense to create some tackles for Wallace Zeke Biggers just is an example for GT 320 PB nose guard that's at least going to end up at the NFL combine if not get drafted guy like that's gonna make some plays but I also think that again the turnover battle will lead Forida state in the right direction the most important part about it Florida State just has more of it on their depth chart and they can rotate guys again turnover battle will favor than Oaks number two might surprise some people because this is a category that I think is completely overlooked far too often special teams speed is going to be a part of it and for those of you that clicked on this on YouTube you saw the picture that I had for this particular pod it's Lawrence toili guy like him doesn't have to play special teams although on many teams he would and he's done it before for the nlls the running back that's starting for the nlls this team has enough depth they're going to be able to put really good players on special teams on the kick units to cover to block whatever but not NE necessarily kill their starters early in the year don't care how much you condition in Fall Camp it is still not the same as a major college football game actually being played they don't hit as much as they used to in practices well at any level College included and these guys are probably going to be gassed a little bit that depth and speed will help special teams too they're going to tackle better I think they're going to win the turnover battle and I also think that's going to lead to some field position advantages which comes to the final for I don't know if there's a team in college football better than Florida state with the returning field goal kicker and punter now if you want to argue somebody else that's fine go right ahead Fitzgerald and master mono are both candidates to win Awards after this season on award watch list for a reason Fitzgerald just as an example was 19 out of 21 last year on kicks that's incredible you look at the situation with Master mono here's a stat for you looking at his numbers last year he had one game last year against Florida where he was under a 40- yard average for his punting one that is tremendous he's a guy that if you want to go coughing Corner can do it but his Hang Time and his ability to kick the ball a long way it's going to help flip the field a few times Edge to the Noles and number one this is the reason that everybody should really be thinking that Florida State's going to win prove me wrong Florida State's rushing attack with all their experience up front Darius Washington across the board to buyers at right tackle from left to right is going to be the better unit than Georgia Tech toili Rodell kaziah cam Dany Jaylen Lucas Sam Singleton I don't care which order you put them in because Florida state does more packages than just pure depth chart which makes sense honestly use your players to the strength those guys running behind an exp expence line and a really really good group of coaches as play callers should produce five yards or more carry which will be the death null of Georgia Tech defense and the scoreboard for them when we come back I'm going to give the final this is something I talk about with a lot of teams talked about Florida State earlier this month with some of the teams they go up against it's different being good last year teams were thinking Forest state was going to be good but were they the hunted yet I don't really know some teams might circle like Miami or Florida but those are rivalry games now Florida state is in the center of college football from all the things that I have personally gathered from different media members from different coaches at the high school level from recruits players Etc around college football Florida State is now in the epicenter and I think they are ready for it in terms of being the hunted not every team does that once some teams have success they often times tumble back down maybe I'm wrong but I don't think that I am because this program is on steady footing I think they're ready to show that they are a good football program they can win by double digits even if they do not come out and play their best game I think Saturday again the game is at noon eastern time it will be on ESPN over in Ireland I think Florida state does that I think they will struggle some early to say second quarter with the offense pretty typical but they won't get down on themselves and I also expect them to play really good defense and the team speed to just be an overwhelming Factor at some point in this game there's going to be an announcer say Florida State's team speed has not changed like there's going to be something to that point and maybe even several times that's why I'm going
