we'll keep you posted Shawn pton whips out Old Reliable when asked who is the backup quarterback for the Denver Broncos right now the backup quarterback competition appears to still be going on out at Broncos Park powered by Common Spirit if you've been paying attention to the trends throughout the entirety of training camp throughout the pre-season who started the final preseason game even though Zach Wilson played most of it that would all tell you that Jarrett stum is probably going to be the direct backup to Bo Knicks week one in Seattle but Shawn Payton is not ready to All Out answer that question he told the media I'll settle it and keep you guys posted he has said before when he says something like that he basically means I don't really feel like answering the question right now and since I'm not mandated to answer the question I'm not going to answer the question I will answer it without answering it and that is exactly what Shawn did here it's his famous line will'll keep you guys posted but at the end of the day when you look at the consistency from both Zack Wilson and Jared stum the consistency in Camp and through the pre season it just feels like right now the guy that Shawn pyton would trust to go in there if B Knicks gets nicked up mid drive and let's say he has to go get go back and get tested for a concussion or something like that and you need somebody to come in and finish the drive just cold right off the bench without much warm up I feel like Jared STM is the guy that Shawn pyton would trust to do that because Jared STM can go in he can efficiently distribute the ball where it needs to go execute the offense keep things moving not to say that Zach Wilson can't do that but what separates them Zack Wilson will occasionally have those negatively graded plays sprinkled in especially right when he first gets into the game having to deal with those butterflies and some of the nerves all of that stuff Zack Wilson is a guy who gets more more comfortable in the game as it goes on I don't think that Shawn Payton want Zack Wilson to be the guy to come in and just have to fill fill in for one drive and come in mid drive to do it I think he would be more confident with Jarrett stum doing that but let's say for example that bonix rolls his ankle and has to miss a game I think maybe then you could have the conversation about maybe starting Zack Wilson because if you're going to play Zack the whole game I'm confident that as the game goes on he will get more confident and comfortable out there and those negatively graded plays Will fizzle out that's exactly what happened in the game against Arizona so Zach Wilson could be your guy if B Knick actually has to miss a game but in terms of coming into the game cold Off the Bench mid Drive Jarrett stm's probably your guy there and God forbid knock on wood worst case scenario bonix gets knocked out for the season then that's when you insert Zach Wilson and see what you have in him you have no benefit to playing Jarrett stum in that situation so that's what I think the thought process is out at Dove Valley for the Denver Broncos quarterback situation Jarrett stum will be the direct qb2 on game days he will come in if he has to but if bonix actually has to miss a game then that's when we could see Zach Wilson all right Broncos Country let me know in the comment section below what do you guys think the quarterback rotation is going to be who do you think is going to ultimately be qb2 drop those comments Down Below guys I would love to hear your thoughts as always be sure to leave a like on this video as well as subscribe and ring the bell so these videos appeared in your notification feed I would really appreciate it guys those are both free and easy ways to show your support it helps YouTube's algorithm to push us out and helps us get seen by more and more members of Broncos Country just like you and me and until next time guys I'm your host Gage Madrid sing peace out
