Denver Broncos vs Arizona Cardinals Preseason Week 3 GAME PREVIEW!! Is Wilson or Stidham QB2??

what should you be looking for tomorrow as the Denver Broncos take on the Arizona Cardinals in their preseason finale the game is set to kick off at 2:30 p.m. mountain time and it's going to be nationally televised on CBS so you will be able to see the game whether you are here in Denver or somewhere somewhere else in the country you will be able to see this game this is going to be one where not many starters on either side are going to play Denver is already announced that none of the starters save for Brandon Jones will play and Arizona it's basically going to be the same thing Kyler Murray has not played all preseason 90% of their starters have barely gotten any preseason action we may see a few guys for Arizona sprinkled in here or there but for both teams this is really going to be a backup Bowl starting with the quarterback position I'm obviously going to be keeping a real big eye on Zach Wilson who's going to be coming in after Jared SDM gets about 8 to 10 snaps with the second team unit Shawn Payton emphasized in his press conference yesterday that he wants to see Zach Wilson get work with the twos Zach has gotten zero work with the twos since the first week of training camp so this is going to be a really good opportunity for Zach we talked about that in yesterday's video how most likely Jarrett stum is going to be qb2 for this team but Zach Wilson has a chance to really get some good film out there and next year in 2025 he's got a chance to sign a pretty sizable deal either here in Denver as qb2 longterm or with some other team as a possible Bridge quarterback just like his New York Jets predecessor Sam darnold did darnold is really the blueprint for what Zach Wilson is trying to do here and Zach's going to get that year of football Rehab on the bench under Shawn pyton and looks like again Wilson is is going to be qb3 but this is going to be an awesome opportunity for him to get some good film out there with the twos and who knows maybe he'll go out there and have such an amazing performance that he changes Shawn Payton's mind but realistically I feel like Shawn pyton already knew what the quarterback rotation was going to be headed into this off season from the moment that they drafted B Knicks and acquired Zack Wilson they knew that bonick would be the starter come week one Jared stum would be your steady reliable backup who can go in there and at least efficiently execute the offense if God forbid B knck goes down and then you've got Zach Wilson as kind of your project quarterback your developmental guy somebody who's going to provide some really good depth for you but in an Ideal World you don't want to see Zach Wilson on the field for the Denver Broncos this year so moving off from the quarterback position again I think this is going to be an awesome opportunity for Zach Wilson let's go ahead and talk about the running back position this is going to be a real interesting one I think that we're going to see a lot of samaj perine in this game I made a video today saying that samaj perine is not going to be a Denver Bronco come week one of the regular season the Broncos are going to Showcase him in this game to potentially increase his trade value and increased interest from other teams two teams that I named as possible suitors for samaj p Ry include his old team the s cinnati Bengals and the Houston Texans you could potentially reunite him with Joe Mixon especially if the Texans were to trade Damen Pierce their current rb2 who I feel like could be an rb1 pretty much anywhere else so Joe Mixon and samaj perine getting reunited down there in Houston could also be a possibility but I think we're going to see samaj perine get maybe 15 to 20 touches in this game because the Broncos really want to put some film out there and potentially get him noticed and increase his trade value for another team we should also see guys like Tyler batty he's going to be definitely sprinkled in I doubt we see Jalil mlin I doubt we see much if any of audri esime and this is going to be a big game for Blake Watson as well can Watson make a case to maybe usurp Tyler batty as the Broncos practice squad running back I'm not sure right now because Watson has kind of been on a bit of a roller coaster throughout this off season he's had his ups but he's also had his down so I don't know where Watson's current standing is with the team but I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on him just to see if maybe he can make the case to make this team but right now it looks like Tyler batty is going to be your predominant practice squad running back moving into the wide receiver position obviously Tim Patrick Courtland Sutton Josh Reynolds who's dealing with a minor Achilles injury and that's probably the only three guys that aren't going to play in this game maybe Devon v as well I feel like he's secured his roster spot but I anticipate Marvin Mims to play in this game Marvin Mims has been really disappointing this off season and the Broncos were depending on him to have a big role and he hasn't really risen to the occasion he's still been running with the twos and the threes and I expect that to continue in this game so Marvin Mims is probably going to play Troy Franklin this is a big opportunity for him to get some good film out there and maybe dig himself out of the doghouse cuz right now he is not playing well and I don't think he's going to be much of a factor in 2024 unless something significantly changes or injuries happen that's the only way that I could see Troy Franklin really making much of an impact this season he's raw he's young he's still trying to find his way as a human being let alone as a professional football player the dude's only 21 so he needs time to marinade so I think Troy Franklin this is a good opportunity for him but I don't know how much of him we're going to see in 2024 Brandon Johnson Jaylen Virgil little Jordan Humphrey I'd throw Michael Bandy into the mix as well maybe even David Sills all of those guys are going to be competing for practice squad reps so I think those guys are all going to have a pretty big role in this game I think that right now you're looking at little Jordan humer and Brandon Johnson as your top candidates for practice squad for the Denver Broncos I know they also like Michael Bandy and they also like David Sills the guy that pretty much seems like the clear odd man out right now is Philip Dorset as well as possibly jayen Virgil those guys have a very significant uphill battle in order to even make the practice squad let alone the active roster moving into the offensive line obviously no starters here I'm going to be watching a lot of the backup offensive lineman to see who emerges amongst these guys I thought it was a very rough game last week for the backup offensive lineman I thought that Alex Forsyth didn't play very well will Sherman Alex peski but I think that was more of an outlier for peski because he's played really well throughout the course of the entire off season as well as the first preseason game in Indianapolis um Sam muster I didn't think played great Frank crumb he's a guy who is very raw I think the Broncos might want to develop him for a year on the practice squad just to see if he can take that next step forward but right now he is extraordinarily raw and is very much on the bubble for this team all these backup offensive linemen I'm going to be watching very closely because I don't know what to make of this depth right now I'm worried about what's going to happen if the Broncos lose a starter especially on the interior maybe Calvin throck Morton but right now throck Morton might be in position to start week one if Ben Powers is still dealing with this injury that he's been dealing with so yeah I'm concerned about this offensive line depth so I'm going to be watching that very very closely come the tight end room oh man I know this is going to make some in Broncos Country angry but I don't know if Lucas croll is going to make this team he has not played well in Camp and he has not played well in the preseason he had all that hype going into this off season Shawn Payton gassed him up during I believe it was rookie mini camp but ever since then Lucas croll has not looked good I still think that the Broncos need to look elsewhere and potentially hit the waiver wire in order to add to this tight end room Lucas croll is going to have to really play well I I got to be honest I think Hunter Camp Moyer has been the better tight end for the Denver Broncos throughout this off season compared to Lucas croll again I don't know if Lucas croll makes that makes the team this is a bit of a hot take but he's not played well so we're definitely going to be keeping an eye on him I don't figure that we're going to see much if any of Greg doul or Adam Troutman in this game and then Nate Atkins is another guy who's making a strong chance to make this team as kind of your fourth tight end slash rotational fullback SL special teams player I think that Michael Burton has solidified his roster spot as the main fullback but you could certainly interchange him and Nate Atkins and use Atkins almost as kind of like a Kyle yuse cheek player so we'll be keeping a close eye on him for sure moving into the defensive side of the ball I believe that this defensive line has been extraordinarily impressive throughout the course of the off season and a lot of the depth guys Malcolm roach Angelo blackon Matt henningson I think all those guys have played well I'm going to be keeping an eye on Elijah Garcia Garcia started off strong in Camp had a strong off seon but right now he kind of looks like he's getting a little bit usurped on the depth chart by other guys such as Matt henningson so I'm going to see if Elijah Garcia can stand out and make a big play in this game and then in aazar as well he's somebody who's a sneaky candidate to make the active roster we'll see how much that he plays in this game and see and we'll see what he can do and what type of impact he can make moving into the edge Rush room for the Denver Broncos I think that Jonah Ellis might get some snaps early but we're probably not going to see much of him we're not going to see much of Jonathan Cooper Baron Browning or Nick Bonito either I think that right now the guys that we really need to pay attention to in this final preseason game are derell nachami and Thomas enum I think both of those guys are fighting for practice squad Reps for the bronos and inum was another guy who started off strong and kind of tapered off as we got into the preseason whereas nchami started off a little bit slow and has kind of risen his stock a little bit so I definitely going to keep an eye on derell nchami and dandre Tillman as well I think he's kind of solidified himself as a practice squad Edge rusher but I'm going to be keeping an eye on the battle between inkum and to chami for who might be that second practice squad Edge pressure for the Denver Broncos moving into the secondary Shawn pton said Brandon Jones is going to play in this game as he works his way back from a hamstring injury he's probably the only starter that we're going to see out there in this game how comfortable was Brandon Jones look in his first game action back his first game action in general as a Denver Bronco that's going to be really exciting to see and then the depth guys we're going to be looking at Levi Wallace this will be his first game action for the Denver Broncos he's pretty much solidified himself as like the main backup corner for the Denver Broncos JL Skinner we're going to be keeping an eye on him traymon Smith and then Devon key Omar Brown some of these other young guys as well I think Key's pretty much solidified his spot on the roster we might not see him at all but certainly you know Omar Brown Tanner mallister some of those younger guys will be keeping an eye on them I doubt we see Riley moss in this game he's pretty much locked up that starting quarterback spot so I doubt we've SE much of him deari matys has had a good camp we'll see if maybe the Broncos want to showcase matys as a possible trade candidate just because the Broncos might not really need his services with Levi Wallace being here maybe see if you can get a late round draft pick for an ascending player in deari mathys that's very possible and then Chris Abrams drain my guy love watching him play so really excited for that and then finally I'm going to be looking at the punter position I think that right now Riley Dixon has solidified the punting job but Trenton Gil has those bigger more explosive punts but his issue has really been consistency this is going to be the last opportunity for Gil to Showcase why he should beat out Riley Dixon but right now it looks like it's Riley Dixon's job to lose all right Broncos Country let me know in the comment section below what
