Terrace Marshall: 'Today gave us momentum'

Intro s like you had a strong practice out there um know coach wasn't happy about what happened after what did he say to you and talk about your practice U I mean you know he said you know that's that's not what that's not my character you know uh I feel like you know I'll leave everything on the field you know whatever happened on the field it stays on the field and uh you know I would I definitely wouldn't do that in the game and I I wouldn't do nothing to hurt the team so I just leave it out on the field On his performance against the Jets how good was it for you to have that type of showing against a defense the caliber of the Jets uh it was good you know uh just the help of my teammates you know we just feel like we went out there you know show with all the work that we've been putting in you know through camp and uh it was just happy to see you know the success that we had today and we just going to keep moving forward terce those two fade balls to start practice how much did that get your confidence up throughout the rest of the practice uh I mean it gave us some momentum you know uh to you know keep going and uh just keep making plays and uh that's that's what we've been doing all Camp so we just going to continue to do that what about from a personal standpoint though you're a guy has been through some ups and downs to have that kind of showing in this environment how excited was that for you uh it's exciting you know it's uh definitely not out of the norm you know for me I feel like you know I come to work every day do what I got to do so uh it's just the hard work pan off was it On his post touchdown celebration kind of your excitement and exuberance that might have led to you know the post touchdown celebration oh yeah I say it was exciting you know I definitely wouldn't do that in the game wouldn't do nothing to hurt the team and uh I just leave everything out on the field was On his mindset after big plays the penalty holding or Pi uh I don't even know I don't even know hey ter did that um outside of the day I still noticed like a different energy about you after you been making big plays all training camp and it almost seems like there's a weight that's been lifted off your shoulder with those celebrations I want to see is there a different mindset that you have that's created that for this U I wouldn't say I wouldn't say no different mindset my mindset you know always when I touch the field is just you know go do what I can and control what I control so I mean uh I feel like the energy with this team this year has definitely been good so uh just you know keeping keeping the chemistry going and uh just continue to build off what we you know what we did today Terence how On his celebration much was the celebration FR not frustration but from the last couple of years and everything that's been going on with you was that kind of like played into that at all just the excitement of the moment or what uh no I say I was just was in the moment you know I was in a moment uh like I said I wouldn't do nothing to hurt the team if we was in the game but uh you know it was just in a moment excitement and uh I'll leave everything out on the field you said something about the energy being good can you go into detail about what you mean by that uh you know just with the starting with the coaches and then with the players you know just everybody around the building you know I feel like we we building a good team chemistry here and uh you know just continue every day to come in and put put our head down and work and uh keeping the main thing the main thing and uh I feel like that's that's where the energy coming from ter On scramble drills Dave canalon Brace today talked about like the emphasis on the scramble drills and finding that second play so to speak from just a receiver's point of view how much more emphasis have you seen on that this off season and how does that kind of shift your mindset within play a lot man I feel like that's where you know half of the exposive plays come from is when you know Bryce's able to extend you know with his legs and make plays you know outside the pocket so I mean that's that's going to be big for us this year and uh it's going to be big on us for as a receiver group you know to keep finding windows and stuff to get open for him you you have a head coach who's On receiving advice a former wide receivers coach also coordinator he's former wide receivers BR who's the former pro bowler what's the best advice you've gotten from that grp since they've arrived here uh man just be yourself you know be yourself coming in every day and uh we all in the you know NFL for a reason you know we all you know our names are called for a reason so just go out there and be yourself you know and I'll give it y all every day and uh God going to take care of the r you said big plays like that On big plays today were nothing new for you could you expand on that uh I mean I just know what type of what type of player I am I know what I bring to the table and uh I'm always be conf you know and myself so whenever I T the FI I know what I bring and uh that's just that what do On Bryon Davis you think what do you think Bry has improveed the most on from your perspective as a wide receiver uh I mean just processing everything you know coming in as a Ricky you know it's a lot of things you know you know outside looking in inside looking out uh it's a lot of things you got to process you know and I definitely feel like he's way more comfortable now and uh just with process and everything and U I'm looking forward to his big year we saw a lot of On having a fresh start opportunities for you at the end of 22 with wils and madoo and then last year not so much were you kind of glad to have like a fresh start with a new staff uh after kind of the way last year developed um I mean yeah I'm just happy to be here I'm happy to be a panther you know uh you know just controlling what I control that's what it's been since day one that's always going to be my my mindset you know so whatever cars I'm dealt I'm going to play them and uh you know I'm just happy to be here ter to follow up On Bryce browning on on Scott's question um there have been some throws that we have not seen from Bryce last summer I mean you caught three of them today one of them stepped up in the pocket threw it in the tight window you caught Passover the two fade routes like what is it about Bryce this year that you're seeing from a confidence standpoint on the field and off um to be honest I just feel like Bryce has been itself you know uh that's what they drafted you know they dropped him at number one last year it wasn't for no reason you know so I just feel like he's just living up to you know what I'm saying everything that he he work hard for and I'm looking forward to his his season sh coaches said he's been On Dave Canales like intentional about getting to know his players so just curious if there's any shable moments that you have with Dave that you know if you guys have been building that relationship so at the time today he said he talked to you on the side of the field he said he does those so when he has those moments that you know it's coming from a good place oh yeah man I feel like the team you know definitely respect coach Canales uh me myself personally I respect coach Canales and what he's doing and what he's building you know he's definitely leading us you know to success and uh you know we building every day building the team chemistry and uh the message that he getting across I feel like it's actually getting across and uh it's processing to the team so uh we just going to continue to get better keep striving ter we still see you where the On his shoulder pads the purple and gold shoulder pads a lot of guys still wear from college they feel good to you you know why do you still keep those around uh I'm no superstitious person but you know I just I feel like those those paths are comfortable for me so I just kept them On his confidence um you back kind of on what Joe said talking about the lack of opportunities but through all that your confidence hasn't wavered but is there a part of you that feels like you still have something to prove as a as a receiver in this league oh definitely it's definitely a lot of stuff you know that I I feel like I haven't accomplish that I want you know as personal goals but I'm just keeping the team out in front of me first you know I know as long as I'm doing what I got to do to help the team all of the personal accolades they'll come is that easy to do that uh On his personal goals with somebody me knowing your skill set I'll say I mean it was a challenge at times but I mean me being the type of person I am putting the team first uh I just want to win after that play were On watching the rest of practice you kind of like watching your back the rest of the practice did you think they were going to come after you yeah I feel like they had a hit on me out there I ain't going to lie one place somebody got me they blindsided me so I mean that's just come with it you know and uh I mean I feel like it was a good day overall forget to talk to DJ Reed again On DJ Reed later or after practice oh yeah I was talking to him doing I was was telling you know we just out here competing you know there's no hard feeling like I said I leave everything out on the field and uh everything just you know in the moment so you know we should be good hopefully last one can you uh Dave said On Dane Jacksons injury it looks like that Dane Jackson could be out for six weeks um how big of a loss is that for the secondary and who have you seen I know you didn't face him a day but who have you seen stepping up uh Dan has been you know good for us this camp and uh unfortunately that he got injured but uh hope you hopefully he be back soon and wishing him a speedy recovery uh I say all our cornerbacks you know in the in the cornerback room has been stepping up and uh looking forward to see you know who's going going to continue to keep
