just after the debate ended Taylor Swift finally officially endorsed the candidate of her choice and that is kamla Harris MaryAnn's here to tell us more about the potential impact of all of this yes Taylor Swift has 283 million followers on Instagram alone and she took to Instagram not long after that debate last night to express her endorsement for kamla Harris and her running mate Tim Walls this is the post here as it was seen by her fans yesterday she says that Harris fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to Champion them she described Harris as a steady-handed gifted leader and she also praised Harris's running mate Tim wall saying he stood up for lgbtq plus reproductive and women's rights she went on to tell her fans to vote early and then she signed this post as the childless cat lady along with a photo of her holding her cat of course if you recall she is referencing the language that Donald Trump's running mate JD Vance used to disparage women who don't have children now we know that walls and Vance will be taking place in a vice presidential debate that's scheduled for next month when it comes to reaction to this Taylor Swift endorsement Tim Walls was actually in the middle of an interview with NBC News and his here's here's his reaction all those things I I am incredibly grateful first of all to Taylor Swift I say that also as a cat owner a fellow cat owner uh look you heard it we know that it's there that was eloquent and it was clear and that's the type of Courage we need in America to stand up we've seen it out of the those Republicans who were at the DNC we've seen it out of women who would like to have their own personal lives kept personal but are forced to go out there CU they nearly died because they can't get abortion services in a pregnancy and now you have somebody like Taylor schwift coming out making that very clear it was not too long ago when Trump's campaign posted an AI generated image of Taylor Swift and a false endorsement for Donald Trump that was posted on Donald Trump's website now yesterday Donald Trump was asked after the debate his reaction to Taylor Swift's endorsement of KLA Harris to that he just said I have no idea also in that post Heather Taylor Swift said that she wanted to come out and be transparent to her fans because of the AI generated images that are floating around there and the misinformation to be transparent about who her choice was come election day okay we'll see if she gets young voters mobilized and motivated registered and voting come November the 5th Maryanne thank you very much
