Saints UDFA Tracker: Here Are All The UDFAs New Orleans Signed After The 2024 NFL Draft

[Music] hope you guys had your coffee and your Red Bull because the New Orleans Saints have made more moves to the roster obviously the 2024 NFL draft has wrapped up but we got 15 undrafted free agents that the New Orleans Saints have signed and that they have announced that they brought into the roster I'm going to go through every single one of those players and give a little bit of under my eyes I didn't do that on accident I earned it by working my tail off so let's get to the UDF pH that the New Orleans Saints brought in Kyle hgle the offensive guard out of Boston College now I actually was pretty shocked that the Saints didn't go Christian mahogany out of Boston College in the draft because they showed some interest in him in the pre-draft process I figured that he would be a good fit for the New Orleans Saints so I'm just kind of confused as to why they Saints didn't draft Boston College offensive guard but they went and signed one in you know as an undrafted free agent Matthew hay so interesting enough he's a punter out of Vanderbilt and he is an Aussie so we have two Aussie punters an Irish kicker and a kicker who played for the fighting iers so pretty fun there so in terms of Matthew hayball I just want to read this one note he is an uh Australian punter and he has piled up over 11,000 yards worth of punts which totals over six miles and he was the second highest rated punter according to PFF and last year he was or is one of six players to have a punt of 70 yards or more so this is a player that is going to be able to flip the field Lou Headley is more no so known of low Hang Time not flipping the field but he's going to down it inside the red zone so I'm interested to see how this punter battle shakes out but it's going to be an Australian either way dalen Hulker I want to talk about this player CU this is a really really fun and interesting addition now I'm not going to sit here and say that he is Jimmy Graham 2.0 but I will sit here and say he could turn into J uh Jimmy Graham 2. out now last year for Colorado State 105 targets 64 receptions 767 yards that averages out for 12 yards per catch and he had six touchdowns he did play at BYU for a handful of years and he broke out last year with the Rams out of Colorado State and here's the thing his big thing is he is a really good catcher he's not much of a pass blocker or a run blocker and whatnot but he can catch the damn ball and if you guys remember there was a clip coming out from the combine of a player running the gauntlet drill and he caught a ball and then he caught another one and it was from a different yeah that was dalen Hulker so this player go look at the highlights he's going to absolutely get you fired up and you're going to fall in love with the player I'm excited about this addition we actually had a sixth round grade on him so to get him in the as a udfa was really fun in my opinion so here's another set of players Germaine Jackson he is a wide receiver out of Idaho he is definitely the kick return specialist if you will that the Saints always seem to go and get in the udfa classes so Rasheed Shahed a couple of seasons ago you had Malik Washington last year and now you go and get Germaine Jackson now I do like the player in Jackson I'm going to get more into him in just a second but Nathan latu an edge rusher out of Oklahoma State my little brother is actually studying engineering out still water so shout out to you baby bro and then nordan nully the offensive guard from Nebraska here's the deal the Big 10 knows how to produce linemen so you know what I understand Nebraska's not the best school in the whole wide world at football right now I also understand that the Saints have a need at interior offensive line so I'm not too pissed off about that signing so let's talk more about Germaine Jackson now this is a guy that I actually am really excited about in terms of the return stats in 2022 or in 2023 excuse me ESPN has him logged for 18 attempts 332 punt return yards two touchdowns and then on top of that he had an uh 18 kickoff returns 468 return yards there as well so I think that this is going to be a good addition to the Saints special teams and in terms of the receiving ability in 2022 almost 1,000 yards with five touchdowns in a 2023 just got under 600 yard one TouchDown for Idaho so I think that this is a pretty interesting move I'll be interested to see whether or not he does make the roster to be honest I wouldn't hate the idea of getting a true kick return specialist to let Rashid Shahed be a just offensive weapon because I really like that player so I want you guys to be honest with me rate the Saints off season so far give me a scale from 1 to 100 I mean for me it's got to be 87 88 like I'm not I'm I'm happy with what they're doing I'm on the upper echelon and the higher half of what I think the Saints have been able to do I I mean it's they've been smart with their money they haven't traded away future assets they've kept players that they truly highly value and then they've made really good draft picks and I just love what they're doing so I want you guys to get honest need as many wide receivers as you can get I'm in the boat of get me every pass catcher because I just I don't want to have Cedric Wilson bub means be my wide receiver one and two like nothing against those two guys but just give me every single wide receiver possible Kyler ball he is a defensive tackle out of Minnesota I think that the Saints could use a little bit more depth in the interior defensive line but let's focus in on since SE Haynesworth he's out of parland Texas a lot of you guys might be familiar with this name um because he played with the tan green waves standing at 6 foot around 6' one about 300 310 lbs uh last year he spent uh or last year in 2023 he had a pass blocking grade of 75.5 according to PFF a 72.5 overall offensive grade he lines up at the center predominantly his uh freshman season is in 2019 he did line up as a Right Guard for Tain but he didn't play that well there to be quite honest so maybe this is like a depth piece that hopefully they can maybe shift over to a guard spot maybe they just want to have some insurance behind Eric McCoy but sincere hainsworth you are sticking around in New Orleans and you are a saint all right so let's talk about Jacob kabod the running back I think that this is going to be a really interesting move I I I'm to be honest I didn't think that the Saints needed to bring in running back depth uh some guys on Twitter some Raiders fans that are claiming to be Saints fans are telling me that we needed running back help I just strongly disagree for the rag and cun last year kabodi was uh pretty solid if you ask me um again bear in mind you're not he's not being asked to do a ton in terms of what he's going to be doing in the NFL he is going to be a player that I do expect to try and fight for a roster spot but he had uh in terms of his seasonwide uh stats rushing yards 729 he had seven touchdowns and he had a long of 69 that's dope and then on top of that his receiving yards he had nine catches for 79 yards and one touchdown so maybe we see him do a little bit more maybe we see him make the roster who knows but I do think that chimra Williams and kendre are your one two3 punch Rico pton adding some more cornerback depth to the Saints defense give me all the DBS you can never have too many Mar on ladimore does have injury problems of the past there's trade rumors of him possibly moving on we don't know what's going to happen but cornerback depth is important to the Saints and hell if anybody can develop DBS it's Dennis Allen and the New Orleans Saints he is damn good at it Isaiah stalberg I do think in terms of linebacker this might be kind of a stretch to make the roster I hope I'm wrong in this in this case and I hope this kid you know ends up being a Hall of Fame linebacker that would be pretty damn cool wouldn't it but I do think that the linebacker room in New Orleans I'm not going to say is set but it is solid I like Pete Warner I love de Mario Davis and I was exstatic about the addition of Willie gay but then you jaft Jaylen Ford you have some other guys in the rotation like a nephew Su and whatnot so who knows what's going to happen with Isaiah stalbird but I do think that his route to make the roster will be a little bit difficult so before we get to the last handful of you know stuff that we got to talk about with the draft because I mean I'm just so worn out I'm so tired I'm like I'm on fumes at this point I literally had to uh chug a Red Bull before we hit record on this I want you guys to grade the draft we went through all the udfas we know who all the draft picks are grade the entire draft process as a whole ABCD ORF I got to give it an a I can I can understand stand a b but here's the thing if you think it's a c d or F I would argue you don't know ball maybe you do but I'm just going to sit here and say I just strongly disagree a lot of really smart picks a lot of quality picks and a lot of solid interesting High
