for just like I was and it's exciting to see that I'm glad it it turned out to be really a nice Saturday for everybody didn't it indeed it was a phenomenal Saturday that was Grant Fischer's former gr blank high school track coach who joined in on a watch party earlier this afternoon in gr blank as he as Grant fiser won his second ever Olympic medal and here's how the local community was proud of their Hometown hero making history was incred I mean the way he came from behind how he he just gave everything he had for that last kick and got bronze I wor silver cuz I wanted him to get silver medal but I'll take bronze Grant fiser kicked in everything he had to earn a Bronze finish in the 5,000 meter run Olympic final Fischer becomes the first American man to medal in both the 5,000 meter in 10,000 M run in an Olympic Games and his former high school track coach Ed stanberg who was a part of the watch party says he's been proud of fer since the first day he stepped on track at gr blank Grant never gives up he keeps trying every time I've ever seen him run I've never seen him just get out of a race he stays in it he waits for his opportunity and his determination takes him there and he obviously was in a phenomenal field there that was a Elite field and getting a medal in this race it was just a phenomenal he really put in a phenomenal amount of work and I don't think people realize what it takes to get to that level I think he mentioned to me in a little comment he goes all the work and effort and that everything has to go into this just to get there so stanbury believes everything fer accomplished this summer is only the beginning of what's truly in store for him I think he's young enough that if he wants to continue running he could take this all the way to LA and I know he's going to run some of the diamond League races over in Europe right after this is done so he still has a future he's learned so much I can tell and I know that his level he feels he can run with the best now and I his confidence is there and Fisher's Hometown will be his biggest fan club would certainly be happy that he's achieved what he has but knowing him uh he'll go on to do more oh this is little old Grant blank and here he is representing Us in the Olympics I hope he's enjoying every second of this and just living in the moment and not even worrying about the future yet our community has uh come together to say hey let's Get Behind grant we know that uh he's been training you know in other parts of the country to get ready for this but uh he's still one of our our guys so we're behind him and will be for the coming years
