Dak Prescott agrees to a four-year/$240M extension D Prescott who was in his room in Cleveland at the Marriott when the Dallas Cowboys quarterback got the call that he was going to become the highest paid player in NFL history a 4-year extension worth 240 million 231 million guaranteed by the time Prescott plays out the deal in 2028 he could potentially make more than 400 million in his career he led the Cowboys to a 3317 win against the Browns going 19 of 32 for 179 yards in a TD it's a good day to be decked right now it's about celebrating this win tonight um hell of a win with these guys excited for this plane ride back with them uh but turning the page tomorrow getting on to to to the Saints and uh taking it one game at a time but but that's the that that's what is at the Forefront of my mind um not the money it's about holding up my end of the deal and that's winning and and I want to do it here what it means is a big commitment uh to the next 5 years to our future if you will uh there's a lot of me that thinks uh I'd hope to act as our quarterback for the rest of my time Dan Orlowski joining the party good to have you with us Dan good morning how are you guys what's going on we're good we're good it's good to be in the FL it is good to be in the FL good morning good sir I'm in the house how are you said how are you what I ha could look just like Ernie oh my goodness who's Ernie you'll figure out don't worry about it wor about Shannon tell you later Shannon I'll start with you was that a statement win by the Cowboys no um you know they were Cleveland without their two two right tackles and it wasn't like it wasn't like the Cowboys uh had 500 yards of total offense they ran the ball for 150 yards D threw the ball for 300 yards it was nothing to that it was a situation where look they took advantage uh Mike Zimmer knew um that the ball was going to have to come out quick they s on a lot of routes uh uh uh Deshawn really never had an opportunity because they couldn't run the football they became one-dimensional early in the ball game that's not to try to diminish what Dallas Dallas won the ball game the defense looked very impressive but your two right tackle 79 the right tackle oh my good Stephen A he couldn't block you I mean to be it should be a crime to be that big and that sorry I mean he couldn't block the Sun out of his eyes so when whoever got on his side he was either false starting illegal formation or he's getting a holding call and so I don't want to try to minimize that but was it a statement win no because I don't think I think the right tackles not being of the both the left and the right tackle and they started two guys uh two backups I thought that had a lot to do with it but on the other side man the uh the give Cowboys the defense their credit but I thought the the Cowboys played okay um they didn't do anything spectacular now I can see them improving along the way but I don't look at this as a statement when I just thought that the Cowboys off excuse me the browns offensive line was inadequate and they couldn't do anything with the pass rush for the Cowboys and it made them onedimensional and it look made it look worse than probably what it was but I don't look at this as a statement when they won the game had to feel good to D he got his money earlier that morning and he came out there and he played he played okay but I don't think it was a great win and I'm looking at them like okay yeah they're absolutely going to be in the NFC championship game I don't look at it like that no I look at it as a statement win Shay because listen when when you know you have the noise that they've had in the off season you didn't out there and get anybody uh you waited Stephen A. injury we got that part but damn you got Amari coup out there you got en joku out there you got some weapons to do absolutely nothing and I was listening to you come coming in and you're talking about it like damn we we just don't have that dude at the quarterback position it would have surprised me if guys were sitting in Cleveland right now clamoring Statement win for the Cowboys? for Joe flacker now on to the situation at quarterback I think there's a problem in Cleveland at quarterback it I would be thinking long and hard about playing jamus Winston in the very near future the the the Browns are in a crisis at that position okay crisis how many years has it been a revolving door at that position and they gave him the most guaranteed money at the time I mean the year that they moved on from Baker Mayfield that you know Baker Mayfield was coming off of that really good season I think in 20 when they beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs and then they moved on from him I believe after 21 here here's the biggest issue in Cleveland right now like Kevin stefanu who's their head coach coach and play caller he two-time coach of the year he comes from this offense that is from Mike shanan Gary kubak Kyle shanon which is the old school quarterback under the center the outside Zone Run game the big play action stuff off of it and they've built their team around that that's what they did with Joe last year so the offensive line it's better for that the skill position players Coupe it's built for that Nick chub they can't do that offense with DeShawn I don't know the exact reason why they can't do that offense with DeShawn when they try to call it it's not executed well the the Time to bench Deshaun Watson in favor of Jameis Winston? the fundamentals of it are not executed well when they don't call it and they try to play this spread offense that was a little bit college and then what Deshawn thrived with in Houston it's bad the ball doesn't come out the Dynamic Athlete is no longer there right now and then there's no plus plays you know Stephen you know this miles you Shannon you know this when you get to a certain price point in this league you're expected to overcome Parson in positions where they can get after Demarcus Lawrence had two sacks yesterday as well so we got to take that into consideration okay but we can't act like when it comes to Deshawn Watson it was just about the Cowboys Deshawn Watson NFL ranks among 45 quarterbacks with 300 plus pass attempts since he became a brown a Cleveland Brown two years ago in completion percentage he's 42 out of 45 40 42 out of 45 ladies and gentlemen you talk about 45 quarterback it's 32 team you understand saying he's 42 he's 42 in yards per attempt he's 43 in passer rating he's 43 only Bryce young and Zack Wilson have been worse and the man is at $230 million they going to run him out of Cleveland I'm telling you right now listen it it they're going to make it very very very uncomfortable off a lake eie for this brother to stay on board way that he calls plays and the whole team is built like that Shannon the whole team you know how it is like the whole team is built to play into that and I've watched Baker play great in this offense I've played watch Joe flacko play great in this offense and I sit there and I go through this off season I'm going hold on this team's got David and joku in a big-time offensive line and two good packs and Amari coopy Cooper and Elijah Moore and Jerry Judy and they're trying to trade for Brandon auk like why are you trying to trade for Brandon auk with all this talent and now I'm watching this game I'm going they got a problem like they they got a problem and I know the money is what it is I would feel way more comfortable with James Winston I feel no I or Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday or Friday and say desan looked like himself when he was in Houston there hasn't been a time in three years that we we saw a little Glimpse and he and then he ended up having shoulder surgery against Baltimore but when when was the game Stephen A that you and I do that you said that looked like DeShawn Watson in Houston none he did look good once against Cincinnati but I'm just saying it's not enough it's not enough of a sample size I'm I'm it's pretty bad with DeShawn Watson and it has to be said it has to be said because Cleveland you you don't see teams that have everything else everything they got a defense yeah they got wide receivers they got a tight end yeah okay I mean yeah yeah when chub comes back I I you know that one with surise
