Transcript of Weather Impact: Dangerous heat and humidity today, heat index near 110°

It's Thursday. August 1st meteorologist, Trevor Burchett today is another ABC 24 weather impact day because of the dangerous combination of extreme heat and humidity. Another excessive heat warning in effect for most of the mid south including Memphis. Today, those counties in purple can expect the heat index to be as high as 110 northeast Mississippi and parts of West Tennessee. They're in a heat advisory a little closer to 105 on the heat index but still dangerous across the mid south. Here's a look at your heat index for this afternoon. 109 in Memphis. Very high down in the delta. It'll feel like 112 in Tunica and Clarksdale, 107 in Dyersburg and Boliver 109 in Corinth. So really as early as 11 a.m. today, all the way through sunset, that dangerous heat and humidity is gonna impact your plans. That's why we're calling this a weather impact day. So if you can stay in the, stay in the shade, stay out of the heat if at all possible and of course, stay hydrated, even if you don't think you're thirsty, go ahead and sip on some water tomorrow, the heat index does come down a little bit. It's still gonna be very hot. It's still gonna be very humid, just not as humid as it has been. Feeling like 101 for Friday. And expect that heat index to stay near or just above 100 through the weekend and into early next week again. Sunshine, hot and humid today. 96 with that heat index of 110, partly cloudy tomorrow with a high near 95 expect sunshine for the weekend, mid nineties for your highs and it's gonna get hotter again next week. Maybe not quite as humid though. We'll take what we you can get 96 on Monday, 97 Tuesday and Wednesday expect that heat index to maybe be as high as 105 next week under a mostly sunny sky.
