Afternoon gentlemen how you doing?
Good things Tim we start with a really sad story we've been hearing about overnight here.
One is Keanu of National Euroguine team collapsed on the pitch last Thursday and sadly died yesterday. And you remember we had a spite of these on-field deaths around 20 years ago. We remember Mark, give him full and we have one
in Brazil as well says you know and as in the same study actually where this one happened. And as a consequence, the medical attention improved massively
and in the case of this player is scared or who hadn't been on for only came on a half time
in this limited audience game away to Sao Paulo came on because the former Premier League centreback Sebastian Quattas felt a twinge
and came off at half time and when he collapsed the medical attention was really quick got in there and I remember doing Brazilian TV the next day. And we were kind of those
were congratulations. Yeah, look how good the medical attention was it's going to save him. But unfortunately it hasn't only he suffered this heart problem
and we're all on the way to the hospital. The hospital is right next to the ground he suffered a heart attack
and it damaged his brain and the on choosing.
And this is really tragic was 27 he's just had just had his second child. He's got a two-and-a-half year old daughter and a son when he was coming up the youth ranks with a small club
in Uruguay called Sero. But it's heartbreaking and it's terrifying
and why young men in their prime. And it's been happening on the first one I remember
is David Longhurst of York City back in 1990 and then suddenly where I spited them at the start
of the century and it continues to mystify me why this is happening to the extent that it he's I saw him Louis Spyros saying they have said it was
and there had been quite a lot of ex players or current players sort of tweeting and talking about it him. Yeah, I'm probably here at Uruguay currently suspended first
and second divisions didn't happen at the weekend. That's
when he was fighting for life. I don't know what will happen now obviously normality has to return
at some points whether there's been medical negligence given the fact that a heart condition was detected a decade
ago that's something which will obviously have to be connected. Now we've had, we talked a bit about memorizing
because we knew this could happen, but it's the papers are full of it today. Understandably and it's been more or less being confirmed and so it's been a lot of Roy King comparisons. Sounds good for English sounds did a big piece the day
and they've got them. Maybe they've got their new Roy King did you see that comparison? My comparison is
more with Javier Macharano. You know, when King first came through with Forrest he was really
boxed a box wasn't it? Agati I think is more of a holder, more of a holding midfielder who can press high
and he can be involved with the attacking phase, but it's not really his thing. So yeah my comparison is with the Javier Macharano
who's going to fill that hole there in front of the back four at United.
He's going to win the ball and he's not a wizard with the ball but his passing is quick
and it's crisp just as that moves in motion. So if it all works out and imagine, imagine
if you it's running a deep end and has to play against Liverpool, Liverpool looks so dangerous
on the transitions, no he's there. It looks like
God at the weekend. Now welcome to the Premier League Manuel Agati
but it's clear for those kind of situations. I think they bought him and I think he's someone
who should help bring the best out of the other players that United have in front of Casimir I was taking some heat at the moment
as you probably saw from that defeat of the weekend when he didn't really do his defensive work for Brighton got that winner. I mean what's been the word over
there? Well interesting that he hasn't been recalled to the Brazil squad even though they looked very poor
in the central midfield positions. They
couldn't play their way out of defence. So you're wondering if he was going to,
if he was gonna come back perhaps to sort that out so he's still out in the cold. The good news I thing for Andrei who has been recalled
of the Flumin ENC midfielder. Now he we understood, he was a iron bee for United
if they couldn't land Agati. He was also in the frame for Fulham, Fulham pulled out late last week.
There's not a long left in the window now I don't like to think about Andrei being left high
and dry although he'd probably be quite happy to stay but his club's finances wouldn't. Maybe not an infourist here because forest you know they've lost
a near load to that serious injury on the other side of the season. That there could well be late interest from Forest to
the midfield options where Andrei flew in ENC. We had a question coming about from an ever Tony I guess it's John text has been talked
and awful like this take over at Everton and one of our listeners says what has he done
at Bottafogo? He's only one is about the experience there
and how he's viewed because that's one of the club's he's done very good things and very bad things.
He's done all the way, sorry, damn. He has been involved in a campaign where
because his Bottafogo were that are massively they did a dev and lock last year. They're a passive lead in the championship
and they collapsed and got overhauled by all matters and he keeps arguing
that there was an official scheme to benefit Palmeres. He keeps arguing that there was an official scheme to benefit us
but he hasn't come up with any hard evidence and it doesn't really seem to fit the fact. He's coming across as a little bit of a buffoon
and there could be consequences but so this is him in the spotlight. And I'm told by people who have spent time with him
that it is the profile of the American billionaire in which he loves you as long as you agree
with everything that he says. However, there is another side and Bottafogo
under his stewardship and he's not just him. I think he's the front man, they have done extremely well
and this was a club that was in the second division. They as I said that they didn't come far
of winning the championship last year, their second this year and they're in the last state
of South America's Champions League. And it's been based on hard work
scouting. They are finding players or they have found players
where the other clubs haven't it's been kind of brightened model with some excellent scouting
and they've got good people in the right positions to take those decisions. So maybe for Everton, Leon would be a more interesting comparison. Leon or administrative problems I think with financial fair play. But what we've seen at Bottafogo has been light
and shade both good and bad. Is that your local team?
I can't run there, you've got one team here. They all grow up near me, all of the four real teams that they're one of the big four and they were
by far the smallest to the big four, but under text event that's not true anymore. All these years talking to you, do you support one team? I know you're a top of it.
But you don't just under on you favor.
Can't do it. It's a different thing and when the ball goes in,
you've got to feel something. That's true, yeah and I've done it's you know, it's nothing for I can't forge an emotional bond to it with any of the teams. Can't
do it. Let's talk about your albato, who Southampton hoped to sign
for Corinthians striker 23. Yeah, five minutes off the bench for Brazil
in a friend the last year. He's a quick sense of forward who
is good at operating behind the line. He can play wide or it doesn't really like that too much,
he doesn't want to so much of a defensive shift and he wants to play on the shoulder of the last defender. He's already in a little doing career with Zenit
and he started very well there. And then the war got in the way and he moved back. Now as I understand it, he wants the move. He's up for the move and Corinthians is a madhouse at the moment. So you can understand why anyone wants to get out,
Corinthians are negotiating they would like this to be a low move with an option to buy,
but Corinthians financial position isn't strong. so Southampton are holding the cards in this. So I would have thought, this is more than likely to go through. Okay, Gustavo Nunez Brentford. I think he's gone in 18 year old winger,
he's cost 10 million from Gremio. Yeah and he's been getting a game
for Gremio off the bench as an impact sub, as a right footed winger who plays wide left. He's going to have to work in this potential there is a one, a jittery winger difficult to fight in one
against one situation. One against one situations, but you know which way he's going to go. He's very, very right footed.
You can get away with in Brazil, because the defensive lines lie deeper
and there's more space on the field. In England where they thought all he's more condensed,
they're going to have to work on his left foot and give him the option of going outside as well put doubt
in the the defender. So he comes across very raw promising, but he needs some well.
Pedro, who is a place for from Mango apparently Forrest have made a bid for him and other striker. What do we know of him? Yeah, that's it's been rejected at some like 20 million euros
and flamingo valuing value in much, much higher ease. They're out and out goal scorer went to the World Cup,
although I think it ended up being a waste of space taking in. Went to the World Cup with our thinking it ended up been a waste
of space taking in. These apply who fascinate me because he's a tall
penalty area center forward and technically he's absolutely fantastic finish his right foot,
left foot in the air.
He's got this vision in the penalty area, but four flamingo is playing big team, they're dominating the games. They're often getting in the opposition penalty area. You take him out of the penalty area and he's not particularly quick,
and he's not that strong. He's not
good at holding the ball up. So outside the penalty area, he doesn't offer that much. You remember when I was watching the Euro, you know, Harry Kane. Yeah, clearly not 100% and when the Kane wasn't when he wasn't in the penalty area,
he wasn't really offering very much. I thought that's like watching Pedro, he's had one go at Europe. If you're in senior a few years back, you had a quick look at him and he was coming back off a serious knee injury at the time. So maybe it wasn't 100%, but if you're in senior had a quick look and said, no, we don't want none of this and sent him back to Brazil. He's not going to get too many opportunities now at the age of 27,
but he's in a spotlight. He's in the Brazil squad providing you can get
it. He's got an injury to shake off,
he may well start well cut qualifiers this time next, next early, next month. I don't see him as a natural for the Premier League
for intrigues me because he scored so many goals here and I always wonder, could you do it in more difficult circumstances? I have my doubts, but he is technically brilliant. And this deal has been going on for Andre as well for ages and ages. Now, it's really happened.
What's the latest on that? Yeah, what it was, it was United Plan B. It was going to be full of him now as I said,
it could wolves are supposed to be interested, but you want to do they really need him? Not even for it.
It's probably too. I lost
Danilo. Yeah, so watch this space that they could well be will be
running happening in over the next two days. Another one they've been talking about for a couple
of months, it seems his Diego Gomez said to Brian know what they're doing. So, presumably he must know you were right.
Yeah, the doubt here is when he's coming, whether it's going to be now or whether
into Miami, you can keep him until the end of the year for the whole US season because he's been injured. Although he's back now and he
played very well in Paris was Olympic team. And then then move him on in January, but
I'm told that this is more or less done. He's very impressive, he's an imperious central
midfielder strapping lead, works can work box to box. You can play him a little bit higher as it has got goals
in him has got leadership in him. I think he's, he's got a big future, Diego Gomez come from the championship. Oh, three players on the championship that Mattie's been
in touch is a whole city fan. Devson Zembrano
and Puerto from South America. What can you tell us about?
Yeah, Oscar Zembrano from Ecuador coming in. He's a he's a strong defensive midfielder,
there's a little bit without about him because he filed a drug test and he couldn't play
the limited orders. He's back now, but there's still a verdict waiting to happen on this one. so that there's an element of risk with signing him
because he could pick up a band this time last year. He was being chased by Premier League clubs on loot,
nothing when they were in the in a Premier League. They go show to long and hard so that they certainly think he can cope physically. Gustavo Puerta was the captain of Colombia's
under 20s, went to Germany hadn't really on levacuz and there's no spice there. He's just stocky little midfielder with a rocket shot
on him, you can really belt the ball, whether physically he can impose himself
that I think is going to be a challenge and what he needs is continuity. He needs to get a regular game,
so hopefully after losing a little bit of momentum in Germany, he can pick up some momentum at Final one from Martin the Barra fan, he wants to know
about Neto Borges who they signed yesterday a left back 27.
Yeah, I'm going to have to look that one up he's on my radar. I'll come back this time next week,
I've been too busy checking up Oscar Zambrano and you've got to cut me some slack back on the case. To be fair
he's been at Gank and Hammerby. He had a short time at Vasco on loan so you can claim it,
you wouldn't have seen a lot of him team, I don't think so. Well good stuff we'll catch it with you next week Tim all the best. Look forward to
there we are.
