DETAILS. MORE THAN 3 YEARS AFTER ASIA COW WAS FOUND DEAD. >> WE BEGIN TONIGHT AT 6 WITH BREAKING NEWS. A MISTRIAL DECLARED IN THE MURDER TRIAL OF A MAN ACCUSED OF KILLING A WILLIAM AND MARY FOOTBALL PLAYER. THIS AFTER A JURY COULDN'T REACH A VERDICT AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF DELIBERATIONS. REPORTER JOHN HOOD JOINS US NOW LIVE FROM THE COURTHOUSE. JOHN, YOU'VE BEEN FOLLOWING THROUGH ON THE REPORTING OF THIS CASE AND WHAT HAPPENED THERE. JOHN, WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT THIS DECISION? >> YEAH. HEY, KERR JUST WITH THE DECISION WAS MADE JUST ABOUT AN HOUR AGO WHEN THE JURY CAME OUT AND TOLD THE JUDGE THEY CANNOT MAKE A DECISION ON KEITH BRIAN JUNIOR'S FIRST DEGREE MURDER CHARGE IN RELATION TO THE DEATH OF NATE EVANS. NOW THIS MORNING STARTED OFF WITH CLOSING ARGUMENTS FROM BOTH SIDES. PROSECUTORS TOLD THE JURY THAT KEITH BRYANT JUNIOR HAD ADMITTED TO CRUSH ON THE MEN WHO IS ALSO CHARGED IN THIS CASE THAT HE WAS THE ONE WHO SHOT NEED EVIDENCE. MEANWHILE, THE DEFENSE TOLD THE JURY THAT THE MAN CANNOT BE TRUSTED BECAUSE HE, TOO, IS BEING CHARGED IN THIS CASE AND SAYS HE WAS JUST TRYING TO GAUGE A LOT OF FREE CARD AFTER 5 HOURS DELIBERATING, THE JURY CANNOT COME TO A DECISION ON BRIAN JUNIORS CHARGES TO WHICH THIS CASE ENDED IN A MISTRIAL. I SPOKE OF NATE'S MOM AS WELL AS BRIAN JUNIORS ATTORNEY SHORTLY AFTER THE TRIAL ENDED. HERE'S WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY. >> NO JUSTICE WAS SERVED TODAY AFTER 5 LONG YEARS. MY FAMILY HAS PATIENTLY WAITED. WE HAVE AND TODAY WE EXPECTED A GUILTY VERDICT. UNFORTUNATELY, THE JURY WAS UNABLE TO REACH A DECISION. AND SO OUR FIGHT CONTINUES. >> THAT'S NOT THAT THE EVIDENCE ESTABLISHED CLEARLY THAT THE COMMONWEALTH FAILED IN EVERY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM TO PROVE THE CASE BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. OBVIOUSLY, SEVERAL JURORS FELT OTHERWISE AND I RESPECT THEIR DECISION. >> BRIDGET JUNIOR WAS TAKEN BACK INTO CUSTODY. HIS CASE NOW HAS BEEN MOVED 2 JUNE TO DETERMINE WHEN HIS NEXT TRIAL DATE WILL BE. MEANWHILE, KERSHAW ON THE MEN WHO LIKE I SAID, HE'S ALSO FACING CHARGES FOR THE DEATH OF NEDA EVANS, THE SECOND DEGREE MURDER CHARGE. HIS TRIAL IS SET FOR THE END OF JUNE. NO WORD YET
