>>> WE'RE TURNING UP THE HEAT. OUR WEATHER TEAM HAS DECLARED IT NEXT WEATHER ALERT DAY WITH THE ENTIRE REGION UNDER AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING OR HEAT ADVISORY AT LEAST UNTIL TONIGHT. ANDREW IS BACK. WHAT'S IT GOING TO FEEL LIKE LATER THIS AFTERNOON. >> Andrew: YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW. >> Jim: OKAY. >> Andrew: LISTEN, IT SHOULD FEEL WHEN WE ARE IN THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF JULY INSTEAD OF WE'RE STARTING TO WIND DOWN SUMMER IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE IT TODAY. >> Jim: THIS IS BAD. >> Andrew: THE GUS THOUGH IN 24 HOURS FROM NOW, WE'LL BE TALKING ABOUT TEMPERATURES STRUGGLING TO GET OUT OF THE MIDDLE 70S INTO OH, OKAY. >> Andrew: THERE'S THE GOOD NEWS. >> Jim: ALL RIGHT. >> Andrew: WE HAVE TO GET THROUGH THIS FIRST. LET'S WALK OVER TO THE WALL. WE'LL TALK ABOUT CAPE MAY WHICH IS ACTUALLY LOOKING PRETTY NICE. IT'S NOT A BAD BEACH DAY OUT THERE. REMEMBER NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE, TAKE PLENTY OF BREAKS TO HYDRATE, AIR-CONDITIONING INSIDE OR HEAD INTO THE WATER. TEMPERATURES STILL AROUND 70 TO 72 NEAR CAPE MAY. WE'LL BE TALKING ABOUT SOME PRETTY BAD HEAT AND HUMIDITY COMBINATIONS TODAY IN ADDITION TO AIR QUALITY ALERTS NOT GREAT TO BE OUTSIDE ESPECIALLY IF YOU SUFFER FROM RESPIRATORY ISSUES. THAT EXCESSIVE HEAT COULD FEEL AS HOT AS 100 TO 105. LET'S BREAK IT DOWN FOR YOU. THAT'S THIS AFTERNOON THAT'S WHAT WE'LL DEAL WITH. AFTER ABOUT SIX, 7:00 O'CLOCK TONIGHT, THOUGH, YOU'LL NOTICE THE SKIES DARKENING UP. THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH. THAT'S RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING THE HEAT UP BUT ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CATALYST TO BREAK OUT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AND SOME SEVERE WEATHER IS POSSIBLE WITH GUSTY WINDS, HEAVY RAIN, MAYBE SOME SMALL HAIL, AND THEN TOMORROW, THURSDAY, CLOUDS, SOME SUNSHINE. POTENTIALLY AN EARLY SHOWER BUT THE GOOD STORY WILL BE HIGHS BACK INTO THE 70S. SO THERE'S THE FRONT MUCH THIS THE GUY RESPONSIBLE FOR COMING THROUGH THE AREA AND KNOCKING ALL THESE TEMPERATURES DOWN AND SPARKING OFF THOSE STORMS. AHEAD OF IT RIGHT NOW THE 3HS IN PLAY. HAZY, HOT AND HUMID. SO WE DO HAVE A HEAT ADVISORY IN HE CAN'T FOR ORANGE THAT INCLUDES ALMOST EVERYBODY UNTIL 8:00 O'CLOCK TONIGHT AND IF YOU'RE NOT IN THAT, THEN YOU'RE IN THIS. THIS IS THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING. WHAT IT MEANS IS THAT IF YOU'RE IN THE HEAT ADVISORY IT COULD FEEL AS 100. THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING AS HOT AS 105 WITHIN THE NEXT FEW HOURS. ON TOP OF THAT, WE HAVE THAT AIR QUALITY ALERT WHICH MEANS THAT AIR IS JUST NOT COMFORTABLE OUT THERE. THERE'S NOT A LOT OF WIND. A LOT OF STAGNATION IN THE AIR AND WITH THE POLLUTION AND ALL THAT COMBINED THAT CODE ORANGE MEANS YOU SHOULD SPEND MORE TIME INSIDE. TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS. THERE'S OCEAN CITY RIGHT NOW. SOME PEOPLE ENJOYING THE BOARDWALK WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW AND MILL 80S. 89 RIGHT NOW IN PHILADELPHIA. 86 IN ALLENTOWN. WE'VE ALREADY HIT THE 90'S FOR WILMINGTON AND OVER TOWARD READING AROUND 91 DEGREES. HERE'S WHAT IT FEELS LIKE ALREADY MID 90S EVEN ACROSS THE JERSEY SHORE. NOT MUCH OF A SEA BREEZE COMING OFF THE WATER. IN FACT NONE. SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST WIND AHEAD OF OUR FRONT THAT HELPS TO REALLY PUSH THOSE TEMPERATURES UP. SO THIS AFTERNOON, WE'LL HIT HIGHS IN THE LOW TO MIDDLE 90S ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA. SHOWERS AND STORMS ROLL THROUGH AFTER 5:00 O'CLOCK. IT REALLY IS BETWEEN 7:00 P.M. IN THE CITY AND ABOUT 2:00 A.M. TO GET ALL OF THAT OFF THE JERSEY SHORE. NOW, BY TOMORROW MORNING, IT'S STILL ON THE WARM SIDE. 70S BUT THAT'S PROBABLY ALL WE CAN DO FOR YOU ONLY HITTING HIGHS IN THE UPPER 70S TO NEAR 80 AT BEST TOMORROW AFTERNOON WITH CLOUDS AND SOME SUNSHINE. COULD HAVE A PASSING SHOWER ON FRIDAY. POST FRONTAL GRUNGE AS WE START OFF IN THE 60S AND END UP IN THE 70S TO NEAR 80. MUCH COOLER FORECAST AFTER TODAY. THE SEVERE RISK FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING, IT'S ABOUT A TWO OUT OF FIVE. THAT IS A SLIGHT RISK THERE. WE'LL KEEP OUR EYES ON IT FOR SHOWERS, STORMS AND AGAIN WIND, HEAVY RAIN AND MAYBE SOME SMALL HAIL THE MAIN CULPRITS. FOR TOMORROW, HIGHS ONLY IN THE 70S. YOUR SEVEN-DAY FORECAST SHOWS WE GO FROM 97 TODAY. IT IS A NEXT WEATHER ALERT DAY FOR THE HEAT AND THE STORMS. TO 79 TOMORROW. 79 ON FRIDAY. WE APPROACH LABOR DAY WEEKEND WITH SOME SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES SATURDAY INTO EARLY SUNDAY BUT MAINLY DRY AS WE HEAD
