Georgia Bulldogs 2024 Football Schedule Breakdown!

welcome back to the comy show well we tell like it is and we don't care how you feel and we got a fun one to talk about today the 2024 Georgia Bulldogs football schedule just released a couple days ago and it's a doozy it's a good one it's a tough one definitely much harder than 2023 schedule I'm not going to sit here and pretend that Georgia had this Gauntlet of a schedule this season I think it was relatively challenging but definitely not like it is for the 2024 now we all knew that it was going to be a lot more difficult for B for every SEC team moving forward schedule wise with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC and getting rid of the SEC East and West divisions we all knew that it was going to be a little bit more difficult for every team moving forward I think Texas is a very solid dangerous team that can come in and threaten for the SEC Championship right away I think Oklahoma has a lot more ups and downs I still think they have a long way to go but they are still a very solid team with a lot of potential and would not surprise me that if in the next few years they're also threatening to make the SEC Championship game so when you're adding two really solid teams to your um conference you're getting rid of the SEC East and West getting rid of the divisions and everyone has to play everyone so regardless you you will play every single team in your conference every other year if you play Alabama this year you're probably not going to play them next year unless you're Auburn and vice vert no matter what so that's just going to be a step up in competition and this this is a fun one let's jump into it there's some things I really love about the schedule and there's some things I really hate about the schedule or dislike strongly about the schedule is probably a better word but let's jump into it so Georgia starts things off versus Clemson uh at a neutral sight Field in Atlanta Georgia on August 31st then they come back home to take home Tennessee Tech then they go back on the road a true Road game at Kentucky on the 14th then they have a bye this is their F they have so Georgia has two by weeks this season this next season um and then right after the buy they go on the road to play Alabama on September 28th then they come back home to play Auburn so they've got Alabama and Auburn in back toback weeks they continue they stay at home against Mississippi State on the October 12th then they travel on the road on October 19th to take on Texas this is will be Texas first year in the SEC so be I'm excited for that game then they have their their normal um yearly by the week before Florida Georgia will travel on the road to Jacksonville so it's not a true Road game but they will they won't be playing home neither will Florida it'll be in Jacksonville then they uh go on the road again to take on all Miss on November 9th then they're back home in their last three games to take on Tennessee November 16th UMass November 23rd and then their annual rivalry game at then the season Georgia Tech on November 30th so that's a gauntlet that's a schedule that is a exciting schedule when I tell you I cannot wait for next season for the new SEC the 12 team playoff the new Big 10 everything I am so excited I cannot wait and this is one of those schedules besides maybe the Tennessee Tech and the UMass this is one of those schedules where every single week I am going to be pumped for the Georgia game I I'm like hell yeah um but there's a lot of thing not a lot there's a couple things that I want to talk about with this schedule that that I just I'm not the biggest fan of um I feel like if you're a Georgia fan you kind of got snubbed you kind of got yeah snubbed for all the home games there's not a single big home game on Georgia's schedule for next season you your home games consist of Tennessee Tech okay Auburn Mississippi State Tennessee UMass and then Georgia Tech well you can roll out Tennessee Tech and UMass that's not that's not going to be a challenge I think Georgia Tech was a lot better this year and I think they probably maybe continue to Trend upwards but I still don't think Georgia Tech is a true competitor for Georgia currently so that will be a fun one because it is still kind of our rivalry game but it is still Georgia Tech so you can ruled that one out Mississippi State I still think is going to Circle the Drain for a while with the unfortunate passing of Mike Leech and then promoting um one of their coordinators to head coach and then firing him it's things are looking looking really rough for Mississippi State right now so and by that time that's middle of the Season by that time Mississippi State could have multiple losses then we get Auburn at home I think is probably your one of your bigger games of your home games is Auburn it is still a rivalry um I think that it's always a a good competition between Georgia and Auburn so then that just leaves Auburn and Tennessee as your two big your biggest home games and is at the end of the year so we could be sitting there come November 16th when Tennessee comes to Athens to play Georgia Tennessee could have 2 3 four losses if not more by that time in the season so how important how big is that game going to be I don't know I can't predict the future but I think Georgia fans got sned for some really solid um home games again this season it's not an exciting lineup of home games I would have loved to have seen either that Alabama or Texas game at home trade one of those games trade trade the and I get it cuz we have to alternate we played at Auburn this year so we have to play home at Auburn next year same with like I mean even om Miss like why are we playing om Miss again and traveling it just I'm a little confused at how they did some of these things and I don't like the home slate for Georgia I think it's still going to be fun I think that Georgia Auburn game is going to be really huge I think the Georgia Tennessee game has the potential to be big depending on how Tennessee does but honestly how good is Tennessee going to be especially if they don't have Joe Milton I mean like what are we talking about so we'll see I think that like I said I think Georgia has a boring home slate for the majority I don't think we're going to get a lot of prime time night games for Georgia at home this year uh on the on the road different story but at home I don't think so another thing I wanted to bring up and this has everything to do with aubert um and I'm going to kind of get I'm going to kind of talk here Auburn fan so but a few years ago four five six years ago I can't remember exactly what year it is you can correct me in the um comments below but it's always been tradition that Georgia and Auburn would play in November and then obviously Auburn and Alabama would play in the last season the last week of the regular season for the Rival game the ironball so that always left Auburn to play Georgia and Alabama in the same month in November uh every single year it's been like that ever since I can remember I've been watching college football in the dog since I was a very little kid and it's always kind of been that way well a few years ago Auburn cried like Auburn usually does they threw a hissy fit they went to the NCAA they went to the SEC and they said it's too hard it's too hard for us it ain't fair and uh so they had it changed Auburn cried just enough to have it changed to where now the Georgia Auburn game comes in the beginning of the Season rather than the end of the season um and Georgia said fine just to please little brother fine we'll move that game we all love playing you at the end of the season but fine for you OB fan for our little brother will move the game to the to the earlier in the season to help help you out cuz it was just too too too hard for Auburn Tigers to have to play Georgia and Alabama in the same month so tough so you know what the SEC did to Georgia this season they have Georgia playing Alabama and Auburn in backto back weeks what they have Georgia going on the road to play Alabama and then coming back home the very next week to play Auburn now don't get me wrong I think that Georgia can can clearly beat Auburn and I think Georgia can beat Alabama even on the road especially if Carson B comes back especially if um La makoni comes back depending on what happens in the uh transfer portal georg's going to be Georgia is still going to be elite so will Alabama um so don't get me wrong but it's just funny that Auburn is able to cry their way and and complain their way into getting what they want and then Georgia goes along with it and and then I feel like they kind of get stiffed in the new schedule it's just it's just kind of funny so now does that mean that this is going to be a reoccurring thing for Georgia every other year because we still don't know if Georgia's going to get to play Auburn every year Georgia's yearly rivalry as it stands right now is Florida so Georgia is only really slated to play Florida every year so that Georgia Opera game could go away if they stick to the eight game format now if they go to the nine game format and keep three rivalries I think Georgia will play Auburn every year but we don't know that yet so could this be a thing where every other year Georgia is playing Alabama and Auburn back to back like okay but I just think I think it's funny I think it's funny that Auburn was able to cry and complain enough to get what they want and then Georgia kind of gets stiffed in the end over it and also an even funnier thing um to please little brother Auburn with the addition of a couple more teams in I think it was what and Tex A&M I think came in with missou I forget with the addition of a couple new teams to the SEC the most recent one um when they were doing some rearranging of the schedule Georgia was forced to play Auburn in backtack years on the road so Georgia had to travel to Auburn in backtack years to please the SEC in Auburn so Georgia has just been doing whatever Auburn seems to and complain about and here we are sitting like this nonetheless I just find it funny I think gets silly uh and I just think that Auburn like I said can cry and get what they want and Georgia kind of gets stiffed in the end another thing that I think is really exciting is the Texas game I am so excited to have this to see this game at least every other year um one thing that I um noticed that I didn't notice I was watching another YouTube video and they were talking about it and I just think it's funny is that this is the same week weekend dur the American Grand Prix that the Georgia travels on the road to go to Texas to play Texas it's in the same city same everything it's the same weekend as the American Grand Prix and I don't know if you know if you if you watch that but that's a sport that brings hundreds of thousands of people to it it's a national sport so that's going to be really interesting to figure out how that city is going to be able to house all the fans coming to watch the Grand Prix and all the fans coming to watch the Texas Georgia game and that could be actually make it very difficult for Georgia fans to actually travel to that Texas game and we all know that Georgia is a fan base that lost to travel take example for the Notre Dame game uh Clemson games um Tennessee games a couple years ago the Georgia Tech game every single year I mean Georgia fans love not every single year but every other year Georgia fans love to travel but this could actually make it very difficult for Georgia fans to travel with everything going on I mean that's a huge venue that's a huge thing going on at the same time that this college football game is going on that we'll see how that we'll see kind of how that works out and the other thing is that I'm excited about is that I did wish that we were able to trade this game out for a different opponent specifically Texas A&M is that Georgia travels on the road to go to om Miss I would much rather have gone to Tex S&M Georgia has yet to play on the road in Texas A&M since Texas A&M joined the SEC out of all years this was the year to finally do that finally we could see Georgia go on the road to play at Texas A&M but no they still deny us that I was a I I really would have put money on it that Georgia would have went on the road and play Tex A&M in this new scheduling format but no we still got to wait who knows we could honestly wait another four years before that happens but um nonetheless I am still very excited about that om Miss game because the last time that Georgia played there uh it was with Kirby they got their ass whooped I think it was like 40 something to 17 it was a ugly game and I think it was Kirby Smart's first year back in 2016 so can Kirby Smart write that wrong get that Mark that off on his um checklist and get a win there I'm excited to see that that game games in November November 9th so that that'll be a fun one that's after the uh Georgia Florida game so kind of also a tough spot I mean the Georgia Florida game is always an emotional game so then to have to go on the road the very next week to try to you know to take on all Miss we'll see but I'm excited um some key takeaways from this my key takeaways from this schedule the things that I am most excited to see I think has to be that game on the road at Texas I mean with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma I'm super excited to see the first the first match up between these guys with Texas being in the SEC officially now and obviously that um on the road at Alabama I think that is probably where every team every year we want to talk about oh is Nick s this is Nick sapin last year this is his swans he's getting oh he's retiring he's losing it you know he oh can he win one more then sell offens every year you hear those new stories those stories every single year um and I think that this is a matchup and we always hear that oh Kirby Smart is taking over Nick Sabin he he's he's the new the dogs of the new Kings of the SEC um I think this even if Georgia wins this game I don't think that's necessarily true but I think this is a very good testing of your armor if you're Georgia this program now Georgia this program is Elite we've seen it they've won back toback national championships they've won 29 in a row they've lost two games now in three years blah blah blah goes on and on U multiple um first round drafts all that kind of stuff but I think this I is going to be a true test of can Georgia get through this Alabama Dynasty and I can't wait I think they can I think they had a very good chance of doing it in the SEC Championship I've obviously talked endlessly about that game you can watch my recap of it um so that'll be fun that'll be the two big big bad boys in the SEC going head-to-head in the regular season that's something we do not get to see a lot of uh Alabama and Georgia have not played a lot in the SEC regular season the last one was in 2020 and so this will be four years from then Georgia Stills to go on the road to play them again but it is what it is georia can still get it done so but that's it I mean I am super excited for this next season I cannot wait also we still have a lot of football left to play in the 2023 season we got the playoffs we got bowl games we got the Georgia versus Florida State which I'm really excited about we'll kind of see how FSU responds after the that they had to go through but nonetheless that's it just a run through one more time Georgia opens up with Clemson uh on August 31st then come back home Tennessee Tech on September 7th on the road at Kentucky on September 14th they have a buy before they go on the road to face Alabama on September 28th then they come back home to play Auburn in October 5th then stay home against Mississippi State on October 12th then they go back on the road to play Texas on October 19th they have their second buy of the year before they go come down to Jacksonville to take on the Florida Gators then they go back on the road to take on Old Miss on November 9th and their last three home games of the season are Tennessee on the 16th UMass on the 23rd and finish it off with Georgia Tech on the 30th super excited can't not wait other than that over and out
