how inspiring was that performance from your defense it was uh a great performance inspiring performance um the the Run wall I mean right right right from the beginning you know the third and one then then fourth and a yard and a quarter maybe you know and then to to stop that was was huge uh you know the turnovers um you know real incredible the uh the one the one that uh the backward uh pass and then uh Christian I think it was Christian who scooped it but then khil got it man he was like a wrecking ball uh as a as a runner that was that was huge uh Joey Bosa played lights out in this game he he caused the uh the other fumble that was huge Puna Ford uh incredible play by him um I thought the linebackers uh did a great job Denzel Perryman uh Deon Henley uh there was just they were thumping uh it was coverage was was really good uh really you know minus the one play where we and we gave up the touchdown um I thought it was uh you know lights out really really great defense by our guys and uh just super uh super happy about it you know as the the whole team the whole team was inspired by by the defensive play and uh you know just um you know when we we had to be our best we were our best you know being at your best when your best is needed most John Wooden quote uh coach wooden there um I thought that you really put the flavor on this game that that uh that's what it felt like to to me offensively um you know in the second half you know when uh when we needed it uh JK Dobbins won an incredible game uh breaking those two long runs and just the tough yardage he and Gus were getting no turnovers off defensively um thought our line did a did a really great job against you know really one of the one of the tougher U defensive front sevens and you know I guess I can't really say that because I haven't seen many defensive front sevens uh but they're darn good they're darn good um and lot lot to get better on lot to lot to work on for us uh you know there's no excuse for the uh the penalties we had early but uh you know we'll go to work on that and you know going from week one to week two I think that's where you make the most amount of it's where you can make the most amount of progress the entire season in in a one week period so uh we'll be we'll be really focused laser focused on uh on uh you know getting better this week Jim you passed for 140 but you ran for 176 27 attempts can you talk about the commitment to running the football today yeah it was uh it was great commitment um you know running the ball and we felt uh you know we got a lot of confidence in our offensive line you know as you saw I mean we we feel like they're the tip of the spear you know we we feel like we we can attack and um with that group and they were they were outstanding ran Slater uh played a great game Zion Johnson you just just love him we love him uh Brad Boseman uh played really well and um sorted uh sort of pip I mean what a great story you know you know one of the fine tackles in uh pro football moves to guard uh I thought he was outstanding and Joe Al he played really good super happy for for Joe um yeah we were we were at our best when our best was needed most Jim tell me what is the biggest difference between an NFL win and a college win um that's that's a they're hard to get these are hard to get I mean uh I everybody in that locker room knows it uh it's as do I that uh it is really hard to win a game in the NFL and um I just I just take my hats hat off to uh you know really everybody um you know in the organization especially especially uh those that uh you know have been here doing the Dirty Work Justin Derwin uh Joey Bosa CL Mack uh you know those guys pip Zion ran uh aloy uh I mean there's just they've just had so much dedication uh in in leading this team Morgan Fox and and Scotty Matlock and just go through the the roster Cameron Dicker I mean amazing JK Scott uh Josh Harris uh and the Spanos family they're um I just say this on behalf of all the new guys that uh that join the organization this year we we are the lucky ones uh because um you know it's just a tremendous uh tremendous job that this entire organization and these players have been doing uh and I think you saw saw that today that that kind of leadership that comes from from from those that have been here and and been doing it um you know was a real stepped into it and uh feel feel really lucky and fortunate were you surprised when the when the Raiders punted on fourth and one with seven to play um no I mean wouldn't surprised there anything um I mean probably you know the the stop that we got early in the game played uh might have played into that their punter was doing a really good job putting us putting us down in there and uh you know I'm sure that U you know they felt that you know our offense um you know wasn't wasn't moving the ball we had we had a lot of three and outs we had a lot of three and outs in this game but uh you know when we when we needed to not have a three and out the most uh and and get the take the ball you know um was it 92 yards uh and 80 yards in the second half I mean those were those were uh you know game-winning drives offense was was really good when when we needed the offense to be good the mostad got in the lad got in the end zone late what what did you make of the uh receiving for today um really good I mean uh lad was I mean great uh you know scor touchdown in your first game I mean that's as a as a NFL player as a rookie that's you know that's that's huge um so happy for him Josh Palmer you know I mean gritty great player uh I think you know got us one of our first third down pickups after we were 0 for I don't know how many on third down uh up until that point that was huge uh Quinton Johnson made some really really tough catches you know just plucking the ball out of the air ran with it ran with it really well I mean got us that uh that three points early in the game I thought that was you know one of the big plays the game we were third and 18 and uh we got 13 of it or 15 of it back and got it to where Cameron Dicker uh could put it through the uprights that was that was huge um yeah really really uh really huge um and those was are tough contested catches pretty much uh Hayden Hurst had the had the big one that was that was wide open but uh it was uh felt really good about uh you know just the you know the the contested catches and the tough catches a tough running and a really good running after catch um really surfaced today so build on those things and um and then uh you know work on uh work on just everything you know get try to try to get better at uh this week important week coming up for the for us for the Chargers Jim your guys SE to get better as a game went on you see to get tougher part of your culture in the stealing game no the culture is already like I I think I was just alluding to that I mean the culture is already here I me I I I me and and all the new guys I think have really we stepped into it I we're the lucky ones um this is uh it's a great great bunch of guys and uh uh you know culture is this this culture here is is uh is work I mean they they ask No Quarter they give No Quarter uh they're I mean they're everything you want I mean they they uh the team is important you know Justin Justin Herbert threw for 100 whatever he doesn't he doesn't care Derwin James just wants to win K Mack just wants to win these guys are these guys are winners and uh so I mean what was being down here before is just I me I feel like I stepped into that and the lucky one stepping into this kind of culture Jim those guys Joey Bosa man if I could just tell you um he was out there about an hour before the game today doing the same work workout routine that he does before every practice which is about an hour 50 minutes to an hour before every practice going through the same same routine I mean there's guy's in incredible shape he's a beast and uh know was great to great to see him have that that kind of game but that's that wasn't anything that uh Yours Truly instilled I mean these guys have been doing it uh and um yeah I feel real lucky real luckyim out oh and the melee was going on just trying to get our guys get them back you know get them get them separated you know keep keep the rest rest of the guys coming coming in trying to trying to break it up did did you guys talk about that after at all or was it just something that happened um now we didn't talk about it after just went back to went back to work
