Tech at West Virginia a place that Texas Tech historically not ideal place to play for them they've won the past two years but historically outside of that not very much but I want to hear from you guys let me know on the pin comment down below your score prediction for Texas Tech at West Virginia all right let's set the scene for this one it'll be at WVU Coliseum tip off is scheduled for 5:00 pm Central Time 6 PM eastern time this game will take place on ESPN 2 now when it comes to the history between Texas Tech and West virgin irginia West Virginia actually leads the alltime series 18 to9 including taking two of the last three matchups in terms of well last year I told you Texas Tech has won in Morgantown twice that doesn't mean that they've actually done well against West Virginia in recent memory the Red Raiders all time are actually three and eight at the WVU Coliseum now why is This is a MUST-WIN game for Texas Tech MBB this a must-win matchup I've been called a lot of things on Twitter and Facebook the past couple days in terms of what the hell do you know about basketball bball that's fair um I've even been called as far as what a cou a a couch coach or something I I I don't even know what they call me it doesn't really matter I do know one thing for certain just because I have eyes and I'm aware of what's going on with this Texas techman basketball team this is a must win game period for the Red Raiders they have to win this game if they want to lock in a chance to play in the NCAA tournament here in just a couple weeks yes winning in Morgantown is hard enough for the Red Raiders and just winning in the Big 12 in general is hard but specifically Morgantown even in a down year for the Mountaineers it is a difficult place to win ask Kansas one of the best teams in the country okay Texas Tech has to play one of their best games of the Season period Bar None and if somebody tells you differently they're lying to you that's just the simple reality of it they have to make substantial adjustments and I get it injuries are part of this I 100% understand that we'll talk about my must-watch matchup here in just a second for the Red Raiders against the Mountaineers and what I think they should do will they do it I don't know I'm not the coach I'm not the one that actually gets to make that decision but I've seen that this well matchup that I will talk about has worked well for the Red Raiders that said Texas Tech as it currently stands right now is 42nd in both kenpom and the net rankings that's not good okay yes again I understand injuries are a part of this and you likely won't see Warren Washington in this matchup but you have to make adjustments now if you are Texas Tech and that's not to say that they haven't tried and made some already but there's one that I think they could make and potentially change the course of what's going on right now in the sense of four stretches of period of time because let's face it The Bigs that you have on this roster outside of Warren Washington are far from proven that's not a knock on Robert Jennings Kyon Lindsay Amel yahu it's just a fact you can tell the sizable changes that this roster has to to make and this team has to make when those guys are on the floor for better or worse that's just what it is and now Must Watch Matchup For Texas tech MBB at WVU let's just get into my must-watch match up because I think people have talked about it with me in my comments over on Twitter you can follow me at rcnb 23323 excuse me over there um I I think they have to go to the small ball lineup it is the best lineup Texas Tech has right now they have to they have to do this and I'm not saying this is the only way to go but I think if you are Texas Tech we have seen what they are this year they're not a good defensive team they're just not right they're a good offensive team and I think if you go small this maximizes your potential offensively and it allows you to potentially have one more guy off of the bench and de Marian Williams now why am I saying you could play deari and Williams I think you should play zone and I think that that's the way to go in this small ball lineup I don't care if it's a 3-2 23 131 whatever it is I think that that's the best Avenue for Texas techken in the sense of the cards they are currently dealt because this team is so drastically different when they don't have the most impactful player on the roster and Warren Washington so why not put your five best players on the floor Joe pop chance Kerwin and Darion do it let's see what happens they did that against Texas I got pushed back and said that well they scored 46 points in the second half that small ball lineup looked good the push back was well Texas took their foot off the break or the gas excuse me yeah they did in a way but this lineup look good okay you have to try this I think if your Texas Tech just from the standpoint of again sprinkle in some Robert Jennings minutes sprinkle in Amel yahu minutes I'm 100% okay with that but if we're just looking at what Texas Tech has done from the standpoint of at a pretty good level when Warren Washington hasn't played it is the small ball lineup because it allows for space in Pace and that is one thing that coach mccassen has talked about this year that he wants to get this team out in Pace of play and really have a chance in transition and then have a ton of space this is the way to do it and again my opinion call me what you want I'm sure somebody will call me a what is it a couch coach one more time but who cares in that regard all right let's get Texas Tech MBB at WVU Odds & Prediction to the odds and prediction for this one you can see them at the bottom of your screen according to Bart tvart T rank Texas Tech is four and a half Point favorites on the road at West Virginia that line seems kind of High um if you ask me his metrics also give the Red Raiders a 67% chance to win this game my prediction it's must- win I I think this team doesn't quit it's a good basketball teams that has just been hampered by injuries I think they come out and actually play really good basketball on the road that being said it's actually going to be a 12 round fight I think Texas Tech Outlast the Mountaineers and they win by three points in this one but I want to hear from you guys once again let me game for Texas Tech and if they want to solidify their chances to make the NCAA tournament I get it West Virginia down year they're not playing too well right now that's okay Texas Tech just needs to get to nine wins in the Big 12 and then that 20 Mark overall for the season and I think they're in and that's coming from a guy if you listen to this channel that said I think they only needed to get to eight but remember the committee remembers what's going on relatively close to the end of the season and Texas Tech is just not playing good basketball right now and a lot of that has to do with injuries I understand but you have to make tangible adjustments if your Texas Tech and I think the way that they do that from what has worked and albe it a small sample size is putting that small ball lineup more on the court and really trying to go out and create some space while also having some Pace that's what I think would work well for the Red Raiders tell me if I'm wrong though let me know in the comments I understand I I'm not the the be allend all when it comes to this stuff I truly understand this is just my opinion on what I think would work best for Texas Tech and give them the best chance to win and by the way I know someone's gonna say RC what about the rebounding just throw four guys at the glass and have Joe ready to go and go downhill where he's best in transition
