[Music] podcast I'm Jordan and I'm Rachel and this is astrology table for two and there's always a third chair for you all right this is Rachel this is April and this is astrology table for two where there's always another chair for you so we are talking the new moon in Virgo happening the day after we record this on Monday September 2nd at 8:56 p.m. central daylight time in mid Virgo there the second decin at 11° of Virgo so how are we feeling about this one April I think this is some needed medic after the full moon that we experienced two weeks ago specifically it feels like we can discover that maybe our destination is in sight but we have to do some prep and some planning before we get there I think this is a time to heal to kind of come back to um that planning that whiteboard and let's organize it out let's let's structure this a little bit before we get into the next phase of whatever we're we're journeying and looking for I am also getting a very pragmatic feeling yeah about this Moon and not just because Virgo the sixth sign in the zodiac is ruled by Mercury right and that's where Mercury exalts as well so it does its best work um not just because of that organizational component but also because the closest aspect to this moon is a loose opposition with Saturn retrograde in Pisces at 16 Pisces so I'm getting a little bit of a Struggle Bus feel yeah this isn't we're not ready to launch yet I think this is a time when we need to focus in and calibrate those details do some fine tuning before we just go full steam ahead and Mercury or Mercury Virgo rules the digestive system including the intestines and the gallbladder and it makes me think too especially with this Saturn um opposition that we're going to get a gut check a gut check is a great term about what we don't have ready yet exactly there's been a lot of change in both of these signs so both uh Virgo right where the Moon is and then Pisces where Saturn retrograde is in opposition these are two dual bodied signs yes they are mutable so they're about Evolution and about change and I think we've just experienced a lot of change in areas where we don't typically and we're kind of dealing with the consequences of those changes we're working through them and navigating through that disruption that and I love the idea of the gut and the intestines and how all that works together thinking about your gut being intuition thinking about digesting something the concept of really integrating it and digesting it fully through your body there's so many parallels between the physical and the metaphysical precisely Mercury and Taurus over here loves that and also it's truly the way that you can get nutriment from your food is that Digest and I think it's the only way that change can be an augmentation is if you really thoroughly synthesize integrate and take what there is to be taken from it 100% but that often requires some discipline that's not like fun yeah one other thing which you just made me think of this a great way to work with this new moon would be like maybe we're getting our vegetables from the farmers market maybe we're sourcing things ourselves and really looking at food and ingredients and kind of coming back to the basics most pure form of what we're eating um eat organic eat clean just really look at your ways you can integrate um some of that home kind of home cooking esque energy into your practice your spiritual practice during this season because I think that will be very supportive to your nervous system to your physical body and that's really worth noting there's there's so much that's happening on the same day as this Moon so as we are speaking Pluto has just re-entered Capricorn and we touched on it last time because we wanted to but also Pluto re-entering Capricorn this is the last time that this happens in our lifetime and Uranus is also about to station as we record this about 24 hours before the moon so there are two Earth sign activations that are majorly calling calling us out and the other Earth sign there are three is where this moon is and so to me there's this feeling of like by the way a bunch of stuff has to be transformed in a material sense in your life and there are also changes to the basics and so how do you get good with that and prioritizing health is in my mind the highest Octave of preparation for such a Transit that's so true I like to refer to Pluto is the slow moving wrecking ball because it obviously it trans super slowly but it just can uproot and demolish anything in its path like change is the name of the game here so um doing all those things to just be better prepared to handle whatever is coming your way is is going to pay off because Uranus will have just stationed and so the planet of of major change and disruption outside of Pluto is stationary and calling attention to itself so there is I think a possibility to take a deer in the headlights kind of like this can happen when you're confronted or like slapped in the face by some major stuff so if People's Bank accounts are suddenly affected relationships are suddenly affected family structures are suddenly affected the work that we do is suddenly affected you know those are material parts of life that we're going to have to really make sure that we plan and structure um around our reality absolutely I think that's so good it's also I think important to knowe that there's another major aspect happening tomorrow on the day of the full moon and that is the perfect square between Mars and Gemini and Neptune and Pisces and they're there in the 29th or anoretic supercharged degree of both of those signs and so there is the possibility to get overwhelmed confused to get just like absolutely Blown Away by whatever new awareness that we're coming into so health is Paramount during times of major you know mental emotional disruption 100% one thing you have in your notes that I really wanted to ask you about is this because I love Neptune and Pisces that energy does feel like Stranger Than Fiction manifestations you called that out could you talk a little bit about that what that could look like so you know Neptune is is weird Neptune in Mercury rhyme in a certain way and obviously Mars is in Mercury sign but Neptune is about all potential awareness our states of Consciousness our Visionary or imaginary potentials and so with Neptune in that last degree of Pisces I think that we could have some dramatic shifts in this area and it's like the first time one does iasa or the first time one has sex like you can think you know what that State of Consciousness is like or will do to you or to your mind right Mars and Gemini but there is a demolition kind of like plutonic that has to happen when you are confronted by some either information or a new paradigm that you just had never even understood could exist yes it's World altering and it's this concept of once it happens you can't go back you can't unsee what's been seen you can't unfe what you've just felt and so that intense download that shift it's going to feel like a Revolution a moment of supreme Enlightenment it's a it's that line of demarcation um where you'll always point to there's a before and after and I think especially given that during this Siz we'll be experiencing like the next September 11th that's one of those sorts of days when like people at a large degree and Gemini are the people we had this blow to our understanding of what was possible and it was like you said world changing yeah Chang everything different everything I always talk about traveling pre 911 and what that looked like air travel um yeah you and I still remember that oh yeah we do yeah were old enough I I got a question from my 14-year-old stepdaughter she was like were you alive during 911 and I was like oh my God hilarious it's like she goes it's now Canon I'm like it's Canon it was not canon for like it's it's easy to accept things that have always been right but things that are totally um brand new and that change your idea about what the nature of your existence is or will be like I mean Co was kind of like that too everything Chang will be and I mean we're still in those in those Echo but I think this moon is about organizing the chaos exactly to bring it back to this new moon with all of this energy playing out that is why we love Virgo it helps us get organized that helps us in instill structure um focus on the details just create some sense of balance and organization in the midst of it all and we might especially with this opposition be needing to make changes based on emotional commitments and Saturn being those emotional commitments especially Saturn retrograde a lot of this is about forgiveness or writing past wrongs um with the last degree of Gemini and Pisces being active this whole able access is lit up as well and it's like how do I responsibly deal with my own adaptation to those changes because if we don't deal with a mental issue it metastasizes and I think Virgo is also about that metastasis and how we can keep ourselves in check through responsible stewardship of our thoughts that's so good and that's not like that's work that's very Saturn work you know it it's like okay well this horrible thing happened or it could be an amazing thing that happened but say you win the lottery you know have to change your idea about like who you are in the world um what you're responsible for how to invest properly in ways that you never like this was a whim well that's such a good example because they say that people who win the lottery Lottery typically end up going bankrupt because when you have this huge change this shift this upgrade and you're not ready to receive it you're not organized you're not prepped you haven't done that Virgo work that Saturn energy of discipline and structure and boundaries then you can just what comes in will just slip through your fingers like like water through a si yes so I get a very spiritual restructuring feel to this and also it helps in my mind that the ruler of this moon is the recently direct Mercury in Leo but that is still 12 places from Virgo so we're in very 12th House mental place which is like oh my gosh self undoing is the oldest name of that house and self- undoing can be self-compassion and actualization or it can be self destruction and you know self Haring behaviors and I think both of these are going to be on the spectrum of things the mutable Spectrum sure of stuff on offer but this newly direct Mercury will give us stuff we can actually move forward with like those centered realizations maybe some illumination around previously dark topics or hidden information coming to light maybe new insight around an old issue because Mercury's been here before but it is going to be direct and slow moving so this might be a process of like okay now that the chessboard has been rearranged how do i r strategize I love that think about strategy and it's I completely agree with what you were just saying and it resonates with me on a personal level and lots of different levels but this idea of okay I've been through this upheaval I've been challenged I've dealt with this change now what am I going to do about it and how can I move forward and it's not a fast fiery energy it's a slow moving methodical process um that will take strategy so definitely don't get in a hurry and I think Mars and Gemini that is part of that strategic you know planning and I want to talk more about it but first I think that we should break for a quick word from some sponsors [Music] [Music] and we are back with the top three transits of this lunar cycle one of them is happening the very day of this Moon and that is Mars at 29 degrees of Gemini squaring Neptune at 29 Pisces later on Monday around 1100 p.m. central daylight time so let's keep talking about this uh this strategic restructuring based on the new information that we're receiving absolutely so yeah we're talking planet of action and and so this is expanding awareness we're talking about um High strangeness new paradigms that challenge the old ways of being forcing change in in a way that just I think can come in and it's unexpected you have wild circumstances it's like I never saw that coming um and all of a sudden everything is different I love that I never saw that coming as well because remember Uranus did just station and it stationed at 27 Taurus which is sextile to that Neptune and again in the 12th Place from Mars so this tells me that there has been some Shock some change like that kind of world is different before and after moment especially Visa Mercurial topics and emotional topics and Gemini is that third sign mutable air sign it rules the lungs and arms so I think some of this is going to be about getting our arms around what's happening happening or what has happened because Saturn is retrograde so it might even be realizing where we're wounded and then being like okay how do I how do I fix this trauma so I don't continue the cycle yeah agree and Pisces is the 12th sign so there's this kind of 12th house Echo there and it's ruled by Jupiter but Jupiter is in Mercury sign so again with the Mercury stuff and Pisces rules a lymphatic system and the feet so I think the arms and the and the feet right there's something about hands and feet like we're gonna have to act out our intentions and our highest aspirations at the at the best version of this but there might also be some like tripping over ourselves right and some like right hand not talking to the left oh yeah that's a good parallel there there's when we when we move forward when we're taking action when we're doing aligned action with what's working with the universe we can feel in sync and in step and that that um almost synchronicity and oh what is the word I'm looking for um like just Harmony throughout the body in sync in sync yeah but we can absolutely get offbeat in a second and then we're we're stumbling and tripping and losing our balance so this is like slow and steady and we feel like we're a step behind especially because Saturn is is in the overcoming Square position here and so to me it's that means means that we need to lean into that sense of Duty and responsibility and practice and patience and like you were saying with all this mutable action it's going to feel like we want to scramble to make the change immediately but we need to start as we mean to continue because otherwise nothing sustainable say that again start as we mean to continue I love that I cannot claim that that was a a phrase offered to me by a teacher and I've just kept it in my pocket because I'm like you know if you start off knowing it's not sustainable you've got to recognize that yeah and you have to take ownership over that choice and that's wisdom even though it's not easy so I think that there is a dual potential here on the day of the Moon and we can find ourselves like having a very deep realization or maybe taking some very uh meaningful action towards long-term goals or we can find ourselves confused deceived deluded you know all of these more Nega manifestations of that overwhelm that we will experience and I think it's also worth noting this Mars aspect it's the last aspect that it makes there in Gemini before it enters cancer and it's going to be flirting with Cancer and Leo for half a year this Mars and cancer I'm particularly curious about it feels powerful to me so the second Transit of this lunar cycle will be Mars entry and cancer on Wednesday September 4th at 2:45 p.m. central Time and so you know cancer is the fourth sign it's a cardinal water sign rolled by the moon a lot of crab energy I think we can work with that maybe we need to hermit a little bit um in order to just let's Retreat inside our home and our shell um to feel more like ourselves Mars and cancer can feel protective reactive sometimes passive aggressive yes um and so this is like when we can focus on um maybe yes like I said retreating could be what you need pausing if you feel agitated check in with your emotional self if you're feeling that anger and that emotionality and that burning sense of frustration let's just pause and get some emotional Clarity and I think always with cancer we want to work with water in some way if we can so maybe that's just taking a bath and soaking maybe it's I don't know drinking and hydrating extra there are lots of different ways to use water but I feel like this might be a little bit of attenion causing Transit well we are 70 plus% water and so there is a real necessity around uh that hydration and I think that Mars and cancer speaks to the necessity of water which makes things hard especially it used to before we had a lot of pable water made things really hard which is why I think Mars Falls in cancer there's also that emotionally charged quality to it which can be the opposite of Mars and Capricorn less cold less calculating more personal more frazzled more protective and more reactive to your earlier Point yes but I think that with with this new moon in Virgo there is like a a a kinship between that Mars and cancer and that moon in Virgo and I mean there's a sextile aspect between the two but also it speaks to the personal changes we're going to have to make and personal changes Mars falling and cancer we don't like to make changes or edits to ourselves especially out of necessity but that's kind of what this is calling for and Mars will for the beginning of this Transit be in a place that it won't return to but once it hits 17 degrees of cancer it's in its retrograde Shadow MH and so there is I think some time for us to make changes and make progress personally that will be permanent but we only have the first half of that Mars and cancer like those first decad and a half for those changes to be solid and permanent and we're going to have to negotiate the second half of the sign renegotiate and that to me is a lot of personal development taking a while to stick yeah yeah what is the thing it takes like a a week and then a month and then there's some some pace of changes where like it's a habit after a certain point right right I think it's yeah I don't know the exact time frame but maybe like 14 days like you just have to do it yeah it's like a week and then two weeks and then a month and then it's a habit kind of thing so it's it's that consistency it's showing up and doing the work and understanding that personal change sometimes those neural pathways are those old habits are so well formed we can even see within ourselves that inner conflict of I know I want to make this change I've agreed to make this change I'm aware of the change but the pattern of behavior is the struggle it's so intransigent right and so maybe that's what we're we're working on here is doing the um the behavioral change to back up what our Consciousness is already trying to show and you're making me think of inner child work oh yes immediately like that to reference what we were just talking about with the moon and Virgo Transit and the Mars Neptune stuff there can be trauma latent trauma that is there that colors our everyday affect and emotional life and it can be so hidden from us a lot of times the body's response to trauma is to forget and so the Consciousness doesn't even have access to the very kind of core of the issue and so I think we will be dealing with the CES of some issues and since this is Cardinal we're going to be breaking through at at the best you know the hope is that we make these breakthroughs and it might not be like all at once but sort of healing can happen suddenly or it can happen over a long period of time and we will have a long period of Mars and cancer yeah it's like um there's a quote from a book that's about falling in love but I feel like it applies here slowly and then all at once and that's kind of what this feels like it'll be slow but then all of a sudden we'll be there so Mars will be here in cancer until November 4th and then it retrogrades it goes back into Leo retrogrades at 5 degrees of Leo and it comes back to cancer January 6th station's direct February 23rd but it's there for a long time like it's going to be essentially January 6th to Mid June so it's like wow that's insane yeah we're going to be working with this energy for a while yeah and and I think that especially being Mars through Leo and through cancer those are both of our luminaries and that is self-work self workk yeah which again we're LOF to do changing our definition of self like having an interruption Mars and especially anything that's carved out Mars of that definition of self outward sun or NW Moon that's real sculpting of Soul yeah it's the it's the sun being our personality what we project what's seen externally the moon our emotions our relationships and our internal life both of those are being having that Mars um pressure it's the inside out and outside in simultaneously I do like though how Mars through cancer will be making that Trine to Saturn and so that work feels like it's going to be given a chance to flow into our goals and really we can make that change especially because this time Mars is over coming in the Trine which will be exciting that's good that's very good and so let's see uh just to correct myself or to clarify Mars won't leave its place of retrograde Shadow until mid June it actually leaves cancer mid April so we're dealing with this between now and November and between January and April but that's still a good chunk of months it's still a good chunk of months yes so our third Transit here is mercury re-entering Virgo speaking of retrogrades which it does on Monday September 9th at 1:48 a.m. central daylight time I'm pumped oh yeah I'm happy about this and a lot of that is because we're increasing the dignity in the sky you know we've got Venus and Libra her home sign Mercury will be in Virgo its home sign and the sign of its exaltation and so I think we're going to have a good head on our shoulders to really get this Virgo Moon work of organization done when 100% this to me is like the chaos and the overwhelm of you know the beginning of a school year and it's like new classes and new professors and new this and overwhelmed by the the assignments and then it's like all of a sudden things start slotting in place and we start getting the hang of it and start getting into the routine and it's starting to flow and function you're like okay I've got this and we go from overwhelm and um that freak out to structured movement and and so yeah I think this timing perfectly with kind of what people are experiencing in the real world and this is going to help us I I think that it's important to say even though Mercury will be in its retrograde Shadow until it passes that 4 degree of Virgo mark on the 11th that's just two days after those two days we have got high quality Mercury just right there we can use it we can I don't know just get get wise to our new reality yeah communication will be flowing we we'll be able to think our own thoughts we'll have clear-headedness it's that I think with Mercury so much of it is what what I'm thinking and what what is being processed in my brain is coming out and it's how I'm communicating so we have that head-to mouth connection that's working really well I like that head to mouth because I also think we're going to get some of those gut reactions that we can then verbalize You' got all those neurons in the gut where Virgo is and I mean it's going to be very helpful especially in actually getting organized or getting uh the plan together for what we know we have to implement on kind of this intuitive level and I think that it's it's super helpful that's all that I think Mercury and Virgo is a helper right that's what it does totally yeah it's the messenger that delivers the information accurately and on time and so I think we really need to or what we could do not need to no necessity here that's Saturn what could really help and assist us is to carefully clearly address all of our thoughts as non-random during this time because Mercury and Virgo is not thinking Randomness and when we find them when we pull on those threads could that actually be our kind of gut brain giving us a little ping like hey you need to call this person hey remember that thing that you love and you wanted to be interested in like pursue that we kind of get these little little signals I absolutely love that um pay attention to those internal pings and catalog them uh write them down have a little journal with you and a pen at all times or take open a notes thread on your phone and just start taking notes as you think of them don't hold them back and don't dismiss them Cate categorize them and catalog them which is very Virgo I love that and I I just love this idea of taking the time to let the pings come in organize them and structure them and then go back and figure out what what we need to do about it because we're going to have to do something about all of these things like to that Earth sign kind of Point like there will be there will be a lot to accomplish a lot to integrate a lot to make sense of get the mind around but then get the soul behind get the self kind of up to speed on and I I think that there is no there's nothing promised here like this this moon this Moon itself is an offer and an ask I don't think it's going to be full of ease but we're going to have all the tools we need to deal with it and that's the important part I was just going to say the most important thing is believing you have the tools you need in order to do whatever you're setting out to accomplish and even if you don't have the road map or a structured um like someone's not handing you an instruction manual let's say but you have all the pieces it's on you to figure it out and you can do it it may not be simple it may feel like putting together Ikea furniture but you C you can do it and you will feel that sense of accomplishment once it's done I agree with you and that accomplishment I think is what we're all looking for yeah you know absolutely the next full moon will be in Pisces right so we have that full moon on September 17th and I think that will give us the Saturn perspective in the sky it's not going to happen conjunct Saturn but it will be close enough to kind of give us the opposite perspective and I think we're going to have a lot more emotional um what's the word we're g to have more emotional Peaks and this this time I don't think we're peaking emotionally it's more of a mental game like it's very Mercury for this siy so if we can get our minds in the right place then we can handle the big emotions the feelings that come
