e [Music] welcome to the jet up bleeding green podcast I am Michael Palace we are Live on YouTube it's cut down day we're going to we're going to do an episode tomorrow on the initial 53 man Rost but the Jets absolutely 100% unequivocally absolutely no doubt about it have to carry three quarterbacks on the active roster this season because the Jets cannot afford to have an emergency quarterback on game day be a non-quarterback the in order for the Emergency quarterback to not count against the 53 man or the 47 Man game day roster and the 53 man roster I think the emergency quarterback no that's just for game day sorry in order for the Emergency quarterback to not count against the 47 man roster he must be on the 53 man roster and the as the description of this podcast episode says teams must be ready and prepared for a lot of scenarios to happen and let's say Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor both get hurt in a game not a severe major injury that cost them long a long stretch of the season but they get hurt and they can't return to that game that game and you have a third and your emergency quarterback is Breeze Hall but when the week and as the week goes on Aron Rogers and Tyrod Taylor return and they're ready to play the very next game with Bree Hall at quarterback there is no threat to pass I don't care if you run the Wildcat there is no threat to pass I don't care if there you're running the wild cat and he and he could hand it off to to brayan Allen or keep it there is no threat to pass so you take away a large chunk of your offense and probably throw away that game with a third quarterback who's an actual quarterback like the guy in the picture Mike White I don't care anybody can have a Shining Moment for a quarter or two or or three quarters or a full game or almost a full game anybody can have a moment a great game and you don't want to throw away a game just because your top two quarterbacks get hurt now if Taylor and Rogers Miss significant time that's a problem but you want to be in a situation where you have a guy who can replace them for the rest of that game just in case the injury isn't severe enough to miss anytime other than that particular game you want to have a plan in place so that if Tyrod Taylor and Aaron Rogers get hurt in a game and can return the following week you have a guy that can step in and potentially just have a great moment and win you the football game and help you win the football game I know that if Aaron roders and Tyrod Taylor Miss significant time the Jets are screwed anyway the Jets are probably screwed if Aaron Rogers missed a significant time because uh they don't the the because Nathaniel has is the offensive coordinator however if they only miss that game then like I said it's it's an it's Any Given Sunday anything can happen so you just have a a plan in place for that particular scenario where Aaron Rogers and Tyrod Taylor miss the rest of a game and come back the next week you have to have contingency plans for a bunch of scenarios and that scenario can crop up and if the Jets don't have that PL that contingency plan in place you're just throwing away a game and there's no need and and in in a 17 Game season the Jets cannot afford to throw away a game just because their top two quarterbacks got hurt that is where they stand they need a third quarterback for a contingency plan for a one game scenario period I know that's it's a win now season if you're in a scenario like the Chiefs where you don't have to necessarily win now because you have back-to-back Super Bowl wins in your pocket it's not as glaring a whole but it's a win now season and the Jets have to cover for as many potential scenarios as possible I will be back tomorrow have a good one a [Music]
