Jacoby Brissett named QB1

all right Chris let's start right here it's jacobe he's qb1 to start the season want to get your thoughts all the way in here uh but I'm curious to to know where you stand on all this um I mean I think you know going back and forth watching the last preseason game I was super impressed with the young kid um listen I know it's the last preseason game there's not a ton of starters playing at least on you know the commander side of the ball um at least I didn't think there was um but regardless still NFL football and he showed some poison the pocket um you know he didn't just crumble under a pressure which there was a good amount of you know that first drive that he was in there you know you know backed up you know ran for the first down didn't duck away from from pressure you know or or a hit you know got the first down made some tough throws on the run I was impressed I was like this kid's making a pretty good case for himself right now to be the starter especially you know with jacobe getting smacked yeah um but at the end of the day I think J's making the safe decision uh you know I listened to a thing on you know Brady said the other day Tom and you know I texted you this the other day too is like the world of developing quarterbacks is dead and like we are so we have no patience for these young kids to develop anymore and I never really thought about it but then it's like you know Tom you know gets drafted in seventh round you know gets a chance to develop a little bit sits underneath bledo and then he gets H and then he go you know so it's now it's like okay we're gonna take this 20-year-old kid straight out of college be like okay you got to be the franchise quarterback if you don't win we're going to get rid of you and you're GNA have an awful career it's like let the kid develop a little bit man so I I like the decision I I'm struck by a couple of different things I think he's ready I think in a vacuum if you just look at his performance and the way it's improved over the course of the summer he has earned the right to start I think right now as it as it as we stand as we sit here on Friday August 30th the infrastructure is not in place around him to allow a Young quarterback to succeed yeah I'm talking about the offensive line I'm talking about the skill position guys they're not at a place for him to have a clean runway for takeoff basically for lack of a better term so I think you go with a veteran I think you go with a guy who knows Alex Van pelt's offense better than anyone else in that building and you let jacobe take the slings and arrows for the first four weeks six weeks eight weeks whatever the case may be yeah just you know what you have in jacobe brassette this is not you know you're not turning it over to an unknown quantity you're not turning it over to another rookie you're not turning it over to a a guy who hasn't been in the building or doesn't know the OC you're turning it over to jacobe brassette for the first however many weeks of the Season look I think Drake is going to play I think Drake's going to be the starter before the end of the season yeah I I I think we're going to get to that point in whether it's October November December whatever the case may be he may be accelerating the process but we're going to get to a point where this group around him is ready to support him in the way that he needs to be supported in the proper way that a firste quarterback a Young quarterback needs to be supported yeah I think you know I feel I I feel bad saying it because I still believe that jacobe can win football games for this with this team and I still believe that jacobe is a very good quarterback and has the ility of winning eight games this year or you know whatever it is but you know let Drake see what people are going to throw at New England's offense you know let like hey this is how they're gonna play us this is the blitzes that we're gonna see sure is Drake gonna see probably a handful of looks that he's never seen before when he comes in and probably a ton of Blitz zero you know they're going to try to you know stuff his face and just be like hey what are you gonna do and all he's got to do is do is make the right decision one time right make cuz you you send the house and you make the right call that's a touchdown right that's that's a gamble by the defense and he's got to make the decision one time but if he doesn't you know that's what he's going to see when he gets in there so let him see let him learn you know let let him watch toobe and then develop a little bit more yeah sure we all see that the kid has a talent like he proved it in the last preseason game and over training camp like we know that he can play that's great but like let give him a chance man like we're not going to win the season in the fir in in September right we a't we're not going to the playoffs in September but like hey afcs comes around and now it's all of a sudden it's it's November when real football starts I wonder if Gerard's gonna give that same speech you know that bill does you know real football doesn't start till after Thanksgiving I'm sure he will how many times did you hear that by the way how many times over the course of your career in New England oh man what like three what three years three years four years at least three times three years I mean he I mean he talks about it at nauseum once it gets into after Halloween um but hey it's like you know then it's October November you know we're again in December it's like all right cool now it's this team is 500 uh maybe we're a game above or a game below and like we're not out of contention here and yeah throw them in there man I mean kids gotta learn eventually but I still think that gerro made the right decision and everyone up in Foxboro needs to freaking chill out let the kid develop a little bit he's TW how old is this he's 20 what 22 23 22 years old 22 23 years old yeah he's 22 dude we we the the age of these kids coming in and just like being MVP quarterbacks it doesn't just happen like that anymore sure there are a couple out there but like dude let the kid develop man and let them like then like next year like take the training wheels offense like all right dude your team now right but you know I again I I respect Gerard's decision and the New England staff decision I think it was the right one and I'm just now listen it's over you know the the real real stuff goes on it's live bullets now so uh you know up in Cincinnati still not sure if their number one guy is gonna be out there like I don't know there's a little bit of that's a game where I'm like we could go up there and steal one real fast if kind of like you know sh you know is hitting the fan up there so I don't know if you're going to steal a game this you it feels like you can steal a game early in the season with a team that may be unsure of their opponent you know you like to think that you know what you have when you know week one comes around and you kind of step off the cliff and you know you hope you're going to fly uh but you don't know you really don't know you don't know how the roster is going to respond I think two things first of all I think when when we're talking about the quarterback position I I'm curious to get your take on this Elliot come from a place where I think love didn't start a game his first two years Aaron Rogers didn't start a game his first three years gerod said this was his call with some help from Alex Van Pelt and kind of the coaching staff I'm curious in your opinion does Elliot wolf have maybe some fingerprints on this on this call yeah 100% but I think that I think that Elliott regardless of how much say he had in this is doing the right thing and letting it be D Gerard's decision right it's listen No Matter What fingers are going to be pointed and they all go to the head coach they don't go to the GM and I think gerro has taken responsibility and he's taking accountability for that and I think that's we all know that at least the people up in Foxboro that's who gerro is as he was that as a player and he seems to be very straightforward as a coach and be like hey this is my decision right everyone in that room had a had a say in that thing like listen this a round table discussion it I don't see it as a dictatorship Co you know coaching staff where it's like hey this is my way or the highway dude he's taking advice from people and he's T and he's doing it the right way this is his first year this is his first this is the biggest decision he's ever had to make in his coaching career is who's your starting quarterback to be when you drafted a kid in the first round and like Elliott 100% has a ton of footprints on this and gave and he gave advice to jro be like hey we did this and like dude they're they're bets you know on the table right now for Jordan love to win Player of the Year you offensive player of the year because of how he played at the end of the year you know the kid had a chance to develop underneath a very good quarterback but like dude it again like people up in Foxboro like you know hit the hit the chill button a little bit here you know and let's let's see how this unfolds in the beginning half of this season you might get your wish and he might be out there sooner than you want but like dude we have a young team a young coach like let's give him a chance the way the decision was rolled out or the way it was announced over the last couple of days was interesting I thought that Gerard came out on Wednesday and said look we have a you know we're we're going to name a quarterback we we have an idea who's it going to be but we want to wait you know I want to talk to the guys I want to talk to the players from a player's perspective at least before he announced it before he told us on Thursday from a players's perspective how important is it to hear that from the coach before you know you read an Adam shefter tweet or you know you you hear it in the newspaper it does that matter I mean I think the quarterbacks knew um I I think you know Bill like just like any head coach you know if they did it if he did it the right way he had a private conversation with both of them before he went out there it's not like they were you know waking up on Thursday morning and saying oh here's his decision I guarantee you he had a conversation with both of them it's like hey this is my decision this is what we're going to do what you know after that I don't know what he said to him um but for as far as the other team like yeah they probably had an idea the offense probably had an idea but like dude this is the NFL man like this is this is your job like I I mean I remember you early on in my career it's like check all sensitivity at the door like get that out of here because there's no room for it I if your quarterback is jacobe that then you prepare like hell with jacobe if your quarterback's Drake then you prepare like d with Drake if it's Joe Milton in in freaking November then guess what you back his ass up because we did that St we did it in in 2016 we had Jobe brette a rookie quarterback having to go out and play the Houston Texans who had JJ Watt Brian Cushing a handful of really good defensive like secondary players and ass on a short week ass yeah we ran the ball 50 times but like it doesn't matter dude we prepared and we backed him up man because he was our quarterback and if you're you're not going to win games unless you support the person that's touching the ball every single play so you know as far as like the other players in the team like hey this is your quarterback like let's get him ready and let's back him up and we can and Drake should be doing the same exact thing but also preparing like a starter because you never know what could happen we could completely miss a a defensive end rushing off the side and you know that just drove me wild but what you I'm amazed at I'm I'm always amazed and I shouldn't be amazed because this is going to be my 20th season covering the team at the disarming practicality from veterans when it comes to things like that yeah that they're able to put all that aside personal feelings Financial whatever the case and say okay here is the obstacle that's in front of us or here is what's in front of us we need to figure out a way over it around it underneath it whatever the case may be and you talk about the quarterback decision 53 guys in that locker room and you know however many practice squad guys they're all going to fall in line and say look this is the this is the decision that the coach has made I I just find that fascinating because I don't know if you really find that anywhere in society idea of just of people saying look this is this is the plan we're all together we're all moving forward yeah um I would say and I've been in a number of places that there's been quarterback controversy and coaching controversy but at the end of the day man like all I cared about was winning football games so I didn't really care who the hell was lining up with us I just cared about them knowing their job and like being holding themselves accountable and like let's just go out there and try to win a damn football game I played I played with 10 different quarterbacks in Buffalo I could care less right sure are we going to get frustrated that maybe they missed the throw or we didn't do the thing but like in in the in a over the course of a football game you're going up to your quarterback and trying to destroy someone's confidence of like hey you missed this or that that's not your job your job is to go out there and support your team at sure you can you can fire their ass up if they missed a you know if they had a mental error or they jumped off sides and like yeah that like that sort of thing like sure let's get on them right but you know when it comes to like physical stuff that's going on in the game hey we can like hey maybe this was open maybe that was open but it never was about hey this guy can't do his job right I never thought like that and I the best teams that I was around New England we just played with whoever the hell we had and we got everyone up to speed right if it was a young receiver it was like Dude You're Gonna Play in this game get your ass going all right practice Wednesday practice Thursday practice this is not walkthrough right you're going full speed I want to know that you know your job in and out of the Huddle we're doing the thing you know like blocking our you know blocking doing everything so um I think that New England has the guys on this roster to do that I think they have enough leadership and enough older guys I I love that you know um David is still there I mean he's gotta be a voice I think jacobe is gonna be a voice I think Matthew Slater is gonna be a voice yeah he's got guy you know Gerard's gonna be they got guys that in there so like moving on bro we got Cincinnati prepared for it now like let's go I I'd be curious again to get your opinion on this I put this on Twitter and I got a little blowback about it I I said that look Drake is ready he can play but again the infrastructure is not around him the infrastructure should theoretically improve between now and the end of the season and people said well what makes you believe that things will improve between now and the end of the season well I pointed to a couple of different things first of all the familiarity with a new offensive scheme there should be at least you know again theoretically the idea that they should be further along in the offensive scheme a brand new offensive scheme under Alex vanel than they are now and then the second thing is this offense is going to rely on an inordinate amount of first and second year players and the idea is the Hope is that Baker Hulk pop Kaden Wallace leaden Robinson all of these young guys are going to be further along in let's say October or November and better served to provide support for a guy like Drake than they are right now yeah um I think the biggest thing for all those young guys is going to be how much of this is there going to be right we all they're young they're 22 23 24 years old they're going to have a ton of energy I think we're going to see it like we saw Kendrick last year when he started making a lot of plays there's a lot of energy there's going to be excitement but how do we handle this part right because that's what a NFL season is right and I think that if they can kind of keep it like that right you know let's see how yeah I think in October we're GNA and November we're going to be much better off and further along than we are right now the end of August and going into the first week of September I agree with that what do you think about the wide receiver group I'll read you the names here the the guys who made the cut and you can do a thumbnail on each one or we can just kind of take them as a group afterward whatever you want to do I'm just gonna give you this all right tawon Thorton yep earned it Quan booty earned it everything that I've heard yeah pop pulk baker those are the three Kendrick's gonna come back probably one of them's gonna get bumped to the practice squad at some point they're going to make some moves like we know how this goes they're going to how many we have what six on the roster right now there's six on the roster right now they they started with seven but they they cut rager when they decid they did a little roster turn and they brought him back in the practice squad right so like you know I mean a lot could still change going into the first week of the Season you know we're probably that's that's what they're out there doing right now is like hey where do we need to add who got cut do you know whatever so probably go every single game probably just going in there with five um I would say because they are young let's get a good rotation of guys it's probably going to be you know pop baker and Hulk you know and then probably from everything that I've heard bout has been playing really really well I mean it's probably the mix of either one of those guys is going to get the nod um I mean listen we're going to heavily rely on on the Run game our tight ends and being able to kind of you know Dink and dunk down the field and hopefully those kids can make some big plays you know our shot plays are going to come and they can make come up with them right I mean we're not going into this year saying our offense is going to average 27 points a game I think that's realistic yeah yeah right so let's keep ourselves in good field possession let's move the ball down the field let's not create any turnovers and let's kind of see where we where we're at here if we can keep doing that win the field position battle put some points on the board our defense is going to play well at least you know that's the Assumption like dude I what let's see where we're at in the fourth quarter these games we were there last year I I don't want anyone to forget about that like we were there in a lot of games eight losses by seven points or less yeah everyone forgets about that right everyone wants look second everyone wants to think about you know they want to look at the wins and losses but dude we were driving down to win games at the end of the game so like let's let's do that again and hope if they if they win and this it was funny I was talking with a media member this week if they win three of those onore games they're seven and 10 Bill bich still here and they don't have Drake May yeah they have someone else in quarterback yeah and this all all of this looks very very different right now yeah going into 20 you know and so that's just it just underscores though that that it's just it's the league is just turns on the smallest things the margin for error is just so dramatic yeah it's crazy and it's so hard to win in this league and every single week is going to be a battle there's not gonna I guarantee you there you know there's not going to be a game that this year that we get blown out I can I will I will put my mark on that blown out you mean by blown let's go to let's go to Dallas and throw four interceptions and be down by four touchdowns going into the second half like I don't think that's gonna happen this year um I think most games are going to be close I think that we're going to surprise some people I've said that I've said that six months ago and we didn't even know who the quarterback was going to be right I I really do believe that um I think I really think that we are going to we are going to make a living off of a young coach's energy and a young offensive energy and survive and win games with our defense that's what's going to happen this year I really believe that we're going to make some big we're going to try to survive the lows and hopefully our you know between Drake and jacobe I think you know let's figure it out if they can keep games in the teens low 20s they're not gonna win a shootout nope we're winning football games we're winning football games if if defenses are holding you can't ask for anything more than that yeah you really can't if your if your defense is holding teams to under 20 points a game you can't you really can't I mean what what more could we ask for them you know just hey we need some more turnovers hey can we get a pick six every now and then like n we can't ask them to do that yeah but sure you're win if we're winning field position battles we're gonna the games are gonna be close this year guaranteed the other thing that I've picked up over the course of the summer watching this team they're not going to lose games because of the quarterback nope they're not gonna whether it's and look I we don't know what Drake is gonna be we think he's going to be good but we don't know what Drake is gonna be but jacobe is just he's not physically the equal of maybe Drake at least at this stage but he's not going to make a bad decision not going to you know he's just the the one pick that he threw in the preseason that was an outlier I think this is an even-tempered guy who is going to be able to put his team in position to succeed he's not always going to be able to be the guy who's going to be able to get him over the top but he's going to be able to put this team in the position to succeed and it's going to be on the younger guys it's going to be on the skill position guys to be able to get him over the top you know watching that game on Sunday night I it just it blew me I was really I mean I know we're going I know jacobe starting I get it right but I mean that kid was so quick to make decisions and that in over the course of those drives like he dropped back he didn't drop back too far he didn't put his offensive line in a bad position he stepped up when he needed to and he checked it down he made the check before anything bad could happen he just got rid of the ball and like if it was positive we got positive yards I mean we used to talk about it all the time no negative yards positive plays a one yard two yard check down is a positive play at the end of the day right instead of second and 10 we're second and Eight Second and seven that's positive Van Pelt can move on in his in his play calling series and we're just putting oursel in manageable things and I loved what they were doing I know that it was very basic on Sunday but hey these kids can run man like they're no we got no dogs out there that can just that are slow like let's get these kids moving I would love to see pul Baker pop and whoever is out there like crossers like ton of movement like let's create chaos with these with these defenses and like make them cover these kids like yeah they're young but they can play like let's let's just say I'm going to put that out there I think that these kids can play they're going to have some learning curves and some experiences to go through in the first half of the season but like that's that's life dude like learn from it move on and like let's go you're going to go against a good DBS like compete your ass off and let's make some plays down the field and let's let's go like create some excitement across this offense because both of us were like begging for just something last year and we just never it was just so boring it's like dude who cares like like what what do we have to lose this year honestly last year was it was rre Stevenson and pop Douglas oh and that was it and that was and it was a lot of third and eight it was a lot more than that a lot of times backed up in our own ends like so like dude yeah I mean we're obviously we're not just like we don't care it's not that we don't care but like we don't have what do we have to lose man you got you got jacobe he's played got some kids out there like let's freaking go man no one's going to expect you to just take the the go out there and just start making like bombs down the field and crossers 50 you know like no one's going to expect that surprise some people like get some movement going like let's create a little bit of chaos and see what happens and there's no better place to do that right now in Cincinnati because they have no idea who's going to be catching the football up there and I love that one wide receiver we're forgetting before before we want to move on is KJ Osborne yeah guy who's who I think is is underrated in this offense he is a very smart he's been around a little bit he and um he and he made some good plays on Sunday yeah he did he did he he was a guy who left the game came back in and it it was he basically I talked to him after the game and he said the goal was to be able to get as many reps as possible with as many different quarterbacks as possible I love that going into that game so the idea look you want to get some reps with jacobe you want to get some reps with Drake you want to get a feel for both of those guys before the regular season starts I remain very impressed with him he's not going to be a guy who's going to make make the Pro Bowl but he is a very good complimentary receiver and he's going to return if I yeah yeah he's he's he's got a lot of tools in his tool bag he's a guy who I think can help this team he is again he's not going to be an ex receiver 90 catch a year guy but you know you need guys like that on the roster um before we move on to the I know you want to talk about the offensive line the kickoff is very interesting wild it's wild and I've seen and now listen I know it's a preseason and I know how the preseason goes in special teams we kick off to to allow for returns because coaches special team coaches staff they want to evaluate guys in their abilities to tackle block and all that kind of stuff so the regular season could be very different you know we could see a very different story here but they did have a percentage and 20 21% of kickoffs were returned last year 73 have been returned and I know this is just the pre season but that's an outrageous number for 73% to get returned it is I dude I think I mean I know we're trying to limit like injuries and this was a cons a an injury Health concern that we made this move but dude you're gonna see a lot of kickoffs and you're GNA see a lot of collisions this year I can guarantee you that if people keep doing this I mean it's exciting I will I will tell you that I mean it's there's going to be some big plays made this year in in that phase of the game it's going to be very interesting how people approach it in the regular season how would you approach it as a returner I talked to Marcus Jones and he said it's almost like a punt return yeah you know in terms of vision and spacing and how you need to line things up as a return guy how would you go about returning yeah I mean I think I mean listen there as far as from a return perspective the Special Teams coaches are going to have set place but I think a lot of it is going to is going to be deception so it's going to you're going to have guys running you know on different angles trying to set up for a left left return but you have time now to sell it and then go the other way so you're it's really about like how well can the kickoff team kind of maintain their lanes and responsibilities or are you know are you g to have one side of the field just like rip across and you're going to have a you know you're going to see a lot of Bounce returns this year I think um because it just happens too fast you can't set up a lot of double teams and you can't set up trap blocks and there's no second level anymore you know so you're gonna see a lot of Bounce returns um and I I think it's gonna be interesting I mean I think there's going to be I believe that there's going to be a rule for most teams and I think the rule is going to be probably based off of listen if it's 910 deep we're leaving it but if you're three steps inside the end zone like we're bringing that thing out because I think the opportunity for big plays in that phase of the game I mean you can't leave that on the table man especially if you got a guy that can return and um I mean listen what's you know worst case scenario is I mean you know we turn the ball over but if you got a guy you trust that's gonna take care of the football dude the opport I mean those are field you know field position those are game-changing plays man I you got a A big kickoff return that early on the game your chances of scoring or putting points on the board go up like wild with all you know the percentages so it's going to be interesting I'm I'm looking forward to seeing how teams approach it two things on the kickoff first of all it feels like a lot of teams to your point there's some deception going on a lot of teams haven't been doing a lot of scheming in public practices yeah I would fig there's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes some trick plays trying to figure things out the other thing too and this is maybe one of the reasons one of the places where we'll miss Bill bich the most you know you know no no that he would come up with some super devious to be able to try it oh yeah I mean him and like him and Joe judge were like the freaking mad scientists when I came to special team so um yeah I listen I I I think that I really think that it's going to be pretty straightforward this year I know some teams are going to try something thing but there's not enough time really to make a cuz everyone's moving back at the same time you know used to see like used to see reverses but because you know like the end you know the tackle all the way on the other side had time to like loop around like you don't really have time for that anymore so I mean I think at at most the trick play that you could see this year is a throwback maybe right like you could see that I could see that happening but again I think it's more of you know how much M deception can you create on the front line of hey we're going one way but really we're trying to get all the way across the field so listen I think it's again it is like a punt return you're trying to find a lane and once you see that thing open like bang just hit it you get you know we get past the 30 that's a win and I think if you're and anything more than that that's a big play so it it's going to be fun I'm looking forward to it you could just gonna have Joey slly just bang it into the or the third row of the stands and say over again here's the ball which he can espcially when there's someone especially if you're in a tight game and there's someone back there like Tyreek Hill you just dude you're not kicking that dude you just way again like you said putting in a third row yep are you concerned at all about the state of the offensive line yeah I mean you I mean we saw it on on Sunday man I mean that's that's concerning um I think I mean listen I I know that there's mistakes are made nobody's perfect um but you can't like that stuff can't happen in the in the regular season because if that's a a norm we're gonna get some people hurt and jacobi's very lucky that that's all that happened I mean that was a quick bang bang I didn't expect him to be able to see that that happened very fast that that sort of play came can't happen this season like listen Van Pelt um you know he's going to have it schemed up they're going to do some different things but you know we got some some people that we're going to have to play against that are some some dogs on the outside just you know to my my advice to the offensive line is like David Andrew take control and like get your boys going and let's make sure that we go out on Sundays and we just we know what the hell we're doing and all you guys are all together there probably going to be some moving parts around the year but let's not let's not let any free rushers take a run at at our two quarterbacks that are going to be playing this year and have to move on to one of them sooner rather you know than later so um I mean listen man I I love that David's still there because he's been it he's been there done it he win he won football games he's won Super Bowls he knows how to play the game um I I know that it's tough to control every single person on that line you can't do it yourself but I think that the the overall attitude of this team is different this year um and I think that's going to play into how well an offensive line is going to mesh this year and be like hey we we got some good players we have a quarterback we have two quarterbacks that can play like let's get our together and let's make sure that we're doing our job and let let the other stuff work s out so um yeah it was a concerning watching a play like that sure anyone would be concerned but I I got faith in the guys that are there um and I think that they're gonna they're going to get the job done so David I I believe in you brother so screwed without him this team would be and look any any year any team that loses a pro bowl caliber Center is going to struggle on the you know but when he just you know we talked we've talked before about his leadership and about what he brings to the field what he brings to the locker room the backup center situation there is not great and when you consider the rest of the offensive line the struggles they've had over the course of the summer they're trying to find the right combination they're trying to find guys who are and look part of it is injury you're going to get Co strange back probably sometime in September that should help out you know at least stabilize things or one of the Guard positions and then it kind of it's a domino thing I talked to Dante scaria oh yeah couple of days ago yeah and he he said he said look it's all about minimizing problems yep if you think you can have one guy if you can have one tackle and you can put him out there and just say look here's here's one guy that you can take care of then that's starts to kind of minimize things and you can kind of scheme things up and you can say well you know let's make sure we have a one of the one of the backs chip you know you get an extra tight end there there are things that you can do there are ways that you can camouflage deficiencies along the offensive line but it's going to be interesting it kind of goes back a little bit to what we were talking about before with the the rookies and you have a rookie tackle and Kaden Wallace you have a rookie guard and leaden Robinson there's going to be a lot in their plate before the end of the season but V Pelt knows that yeah right like you're gonna have to create some chaos you know create some movement let's do some different things let's you I just you're not going to be able to just line up and play football and I think we just we saw too much of that last year where it was and I I know we had some you know other players and it's a very different team right you know but we couldn't just do that you we weren't talented enough and I don't think that we're talented enough right now on the offensive line like we can't just line up and play ball you're gonna have to have some moving Parts the ball's gonna have to be out we're gonna have to Max protect if we want to shoot the you know get the ball down the field backs are going to be have to be involved tight ends are going to have to be involed involved you know everyone from like you know backs are going to have to chip you know they're there's there's no free release tight ends are going to have to stay in and go you know so there's going to be a lot of that this year I think you're going to see a ton of checkdown stuff you know short you know short intermediate passes and you know we take one or two shots down the field you know we have our big plays but um again this is not I I'm not going to just put this all on the offensive line right I think that this is a is a all 10 guys ex well no let's put the quarterback in it because he's going to have to you know set the mic and call the right protection and get but that's where David Andrews comes in right he knows like he knows where things need to be set and he's going to put people I think in the right position so all 11 guys got to be in on this whole protection thing here and I I I'm not g to just put it on you know just the guys up front I think everyone's going to have to be involved this year Chris Hogan thank you very much for your time my friend we will talk next week when we will have a game to preview yeah Patriots Bengals
