it's official Shane Van gisbergen is heading to the Nascar Cup Series fulltime in 2025 and an iconic number is returning with him welcome to the breaking balls channel it's Bob here we're just a few hours away from green flag with the cup series at Daytona but some breaking news coming out of the NASCAR garage this Saturday afternoon if you're new here welcome to the channel go ahead and subscribe we're always talking NASCAR on a daily basis here and it's official Shane Van gisbergen is heading to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025 for track house racing in their third full-time entry assumably purchased from steuart hos racing as they fold with three cars selling and one car staying as the hos Factory team but Shane Van gisbergen will be the recipient of that third Charter track house is starting in the number 88 car the number 88 car returns to NASCAR it's been in NASCAR for a long time I grew up with it with Dale Jarrett of course Dale junor took it over in the late 2000s as well but the 88 is returning to the Nascar Cup Series under trackhouse racing SVG will be full-time in the Cup Series in 2025 Steven Doran will lead the number 88 team he was Kevin Harvick's lead engineer at Stewart hos racing from 2014 all the way up until 2023 where he is currently zann Smith's crew chief at Spire Motorsports so basically Shane Van gisbergen not only gets Zayn Smith's ride he's getting his crew chief as well talk about a double kick there if you didn't see the news on Friday night track house and Zay Smith mutually agreed to part ways to open up this ride presumably for Shane Van gisbergen tough though for Zane Smith the young rookie in NASCAR in his first full-time year was loaned out to spy Motorsports and after a rough start to the season has turned it on in the last few months a second place in Nashville most notably there but again we think he'll land at front row Motorsports this was mostly just a formality here just to cut ties with him so he can go to Front Row fulltime on the Ford OEM camp with their third Charter they bought from Stuart hos as well but this third Charter for track house racing is going to Shane Van gisbergen who of course has taken the NASCAR World by storm that Chicago street race win in 20123 the first person in over 50 years to win in their NASCAR debut in the cup series level of course going full-time racing under track House's sister team kind of with colleague racing and their Xfinity program he has three Xfinity wins all on road courses and his second in the Xfinity playoff points currently he's definitely got a lot to learn with ovals but the road courses are what really is his bread and butter and that's what got him into the scene here but seven of the last 12 races in the Nascar Cup Series this year Shane Van gisbergen will enter in we did have a video a couple of days ago on this channel saying how Shane Van gisbergen was presumably running in the southern 500 did scoop the media on that just saying uh but it looks like they are pushing for him to get that full-time experience racetracks like Atlant Las Vegas of course he gets to run Watkins Glenn not running the Charlotte roal they said they know what he can do on road courses but they want to get his development and feedback on these ovals so again Shane Van gisbergen fulltime in the Nascar Cup Series in 2025 there's five road courses presumably on this 2025 schedule if these leaks are correct so listen that gives you a very good chance of putting yourself into the playoff stand for track house that's what it's about getting your cars in the playoffs the more cars you got in the playoffs the more you make the more you have a chance to push forward in that Championship four and Shane Van gber has a chance to potentially sneak his way into that exfinity championship for if he can get through that second round in 2024 but again we'll see Shane Van gber Into The Cup series garage fulltime in 2025 and seven of the last 12 races in the 2024 season if you're new here welcome to the channel hit the Subscribe button like this video it helps us out a ton Adam and I will be here to recap all the action post race at Daytona tonight so go ahead and stay tuned to the channel thanks for watching we'll see you later here breaking balls thanks for watching
